Hi & welcome to today's episode. We are talking all about finding expanders today. I think this is something we typically do naturally when going after a big dream, goal or desire. @tobemagnetic coined this term and talks a lot about it in their work and podcasts. Finding people who have gone before us helps to build the belief in ourselves that it is possible. Especially if we can find someone who we can see ourselves in. It helps us to get past our blocks and push ourselves because we feel it might now be possible or we have seen how someone else has done what we want to do, and it gives us a starting place on where to go. Hi Everyone, Happy Mother's day. Happy Spring. Today I wanted to dive into a topic I needed to hear. I talk about this a lot but I still need to hear it on the daily, especially when I'm working on a new project or something I'm nervous about putting out into the world or feeling blocks about. If you want to support the show: https://buymeacoffee.com/shannoncairney And thank you so much to everyone who has already purchased me a coffee. I so so appreciate it. THANK YOU! Done over perfect. Messy action over perfection. Running the race to finish and not to win. These might seem like counter intuitive things to say but sometimes releasing the pressure can help us create and put our work out into the world. And the more we create and put forth our work, the more we build the muscle and the skill. The more we hone our craft. Come chat with me over @frommartyrtomagic Do you struggle to put your work out there? or is it easy peasy for you? How does resistance show up for you? and in what ways are you stopping yourself. Let me know or use these as journal prompts. And I hope you have an amazing day. Xo Shannon
This week I dive into some of the things that have been holding me back and what I'm doing to support myself through this. Taking action came come with a lot of fear. Some of us will assume we are the only ones that feel this way and that it's way easier for everyone else but this is not the case. Today I dive into some of the tools I have been working with to help calm and regulate my nervous system, work on my negative self talk and rewire new beliefs so that I can keep take action towards what I want in life, in business or work. Hi - I'm back. Well kind of. I found a few episodes that I recorded earlier this year that still felt more relevant than ever. This year has felt full, and as I like to say crunchy. Not a horrible year but definitely not smooth. Anyone else? In a reading I had with Jenni from @themediumexperience - she spoke about how she saw my business name. And it was such a great reminder. We are constantly growing and learning and to think we have arrived permanently is some what laughable. We thrive on grow so it makes sense that we would also have to accept the hard part that comes with all the good of expansion. Just a reminder, you're not doing it wrong. Let me know how you year has been and what you are looking forward to in 2024. Sending so much love, xo Shannon @frommartyrtomagic
As Halloween approaches and as this eclipse season as had me thinking about my past. I started to think about my experience with the ghost and wanted to see if others had documented anything from this hotel too. And jackpot. There tons of documented stories, from decades ago to current day. It reminded me that what I felt wasn't a dream. And I had so much fun learning more about the history of this hotel and pub. As well as hearing others experiences here to help validate what I had also felt. Have you had any ghost encounters? If so, I would love to hear. Tell me more over on Instagram @frommartyrtomagic For photos and more info about the hotel and hauntings see below. I'mmmm back after a little back to school break. Recovering from a busy season and a bit of burn out. Committing to and goal setting can be so fun, and exciting. Dreamy. But once we start working towards them - this is the hard part. We can talk ourselves out of it. The EGO or self talk comes up loud. Who am I? or insert your inner mean girl here. Here is a little of what I'm going through as I start my book writing process. I'm so excited for it but it's also kicked up a new level of fear and ego to work through. Yet, this is what I live for. Growth. If we aren't growing we are dying. But also sometimes we are resting. And highly recommend to write yourself a letter when you are feeling inspired, so you can read back to yourself on your bad days. Or call a friend who believes in you. Previous Episode EP.28 Do it Anyways You are amazing. We've got this. xo Shannon
3 Steps to your morning routine. As we head back into the fall, back to school and a more scheduled life, Here are my top tips to your new morning routine. Done over perfect. Life is a marathon not a sprint so focus on 3 days a week and allow for deviation. Think long term and even if you are able to do it once a week for a few weeks, that's a new habit. I think aiming for everyday or even 5 days a week can be unattainable/ unstainable and much more unrealistic. We are busy. So plan for the unexpected. Stop with the all or nothing. Be proud of yourself for the little habits. Ie drinking water before your coffee. Meditating once a week. Celebrate the small. Pick a manageable amount of time. Maybe start with 5 minutes of working out or meditating, instead of an hour, you'll likely be able to fit that in with even a busy day/week. Bite size attainable habits and planning for real life instead of the perfect unicorn day which almost never happens. I am working on drinking a glass of water before my coffee, and journaling and working out 3 mornings a week. That being said the workouts will start back regularly in September because . . .summer holidays. But this is exactly the point. EP.23 on Journaling Let me know what you are working on for your morning routines over on IG @frommartyrtomagic As always - thank you for listening and please share this episode with someone who would enjoy it, and your rating and reviewing the podcast means the world to me. XO Shannon
Well - it just needs to be said. You are beautiful and our bodies do so much good for us. We need to recognize and acknowledge that instead of just berating and saying it's never enough. If you are like me, and many women I know, you have struggled at some point in your life with body image and body related self esteem. We are raised in a society especially as woman that we should look a certain way and anything other than that is unexceptable. We all have such unique ideals, standards and relationships with our bodies. I hope you are coming to LOVE and appreciate the vessel that helps us do most things on this ground we walk on. And learning that perfection in all areas in life but especially our bodies does not exist so start to let it go. That our bodies are forever changing as we age and if we've had children. Learning to embrace the imperfections and beauties of our unique and ever evolving vessels instead of punishing it for never living up. My wish for you is that you come to know how unique, wonderful and innately beautiful you are. Let's drop the shame and step into our greatness. Do the things we want to do, exactly as we come right now, in this moment, in this body. May you feel healthy and happy and all the rest. And may our daughters not struggle as much as some of us have. Oh and may we be walking examples to other women that our curves, soft bits, longer, shorter, uniqueing shaped bits are perfectly imperfect. Flaunt it, love it, be grateful for it. I love you, Shannon
Let's stop to give ourselves some credit for showing up, for trying new things, for doing things you said you would do. Let's celebrate all that we do. Even if it doesn't feel "enough". This is exactly the point. It is ENOUGH. You are enough. And we go first. Shift things, and start to feel good about what you have done. and all that you do. And I bet you'll start to see others start to celebrate you too. Keep the convo going over on IG @frommartyrtomagic As always - thank you for listening. Xo Shannon
How can we improve the small moments? Find presence. Enjoying the small moments. The present moments. Finding gratitude for the things that are already happening instead of always yearning for these big events. Can small decisions and moments add up to big things? instead of getting overwhelmed with the big things. Are you taking life to seriously sometimes? How can you create new small moments? Of things you want more of. In small bite size pieces. Want to create more, spend a few minutes everyday creating (painting, writing) Want to spend more time with your kids - spend a few minutes everyday - playing a game, chatting, crafting. It doesn't always have to be in these big uninterrupted chunks of time. Find the pockets and do something that brings you joy. IG - @frommartyrtomagic
Today is a throw back episode. I recorded this 3 or so months after taking a break from Instagram and all social media. I was finding it hard to be productive, super distracting and just not feeling great. Needless to say I increased my productivity 10 fold. Felt better than ever and even wrote a book. Maybe I should take another break soon. What would dropping social media allow space for in your life? Keep the conversation going over @frommartyrtomagic xo Shannon
What are your money beliefs? Do you hesitate to ask for more? To ask for what you want? If there is something you want but don't feel you can afford it. Have you actually looked in it? Have you received quotes? So even if it's not in the cards right now, at least you know what you are working towards. AND maybe you can afford it now. Or maybe you can afford having your house cleaned occasionally when you are busy, once a month? Have you negotiated your salary? Do you talk openly about money? What are you feelings on this?
Are you aware of your energy. Of how precious it is? Or how it can get swayed or you get thrown off track by others. A quick riff today on some awareness around our energy. How to set better boundaries. Examples of how Elizabeth Gilbert gave a great example when I went to see her live in Vancouver this past April. We are back with Hell Yes Babes Club week 4 and we hit 50 episodes for the PODCAST!! I'm going to celebrate this milestone. Week 4 - for HELL YES BABES CLUB - is all about dreaming big, and then dreaming bigger again. Leaning into the bigger YES. We are all made of matter. The same molecules and substance as the people you look up to. If it's possible for them, it's possible for us too. And after life happens, things shift and change, can you continue to dream big even if the time line needs to change. Can you continue walking forward, continue dreaming big even if it looks different than you thought. At the end of your life you will look back on all that you did and followed through on or accomplished. Not what happened exactly as pictured in the exact timeline set. Be flexible. Life happens but get back up and keep walking towards what you desire and know it's possible for you. Tagging @katiepotratz - hypnotherapist I talk about :) I would love to hear how you are liking this series. Please rate and review the show on Apple podcasts. Hi beauties, Here is week 3. All about leaning into our edges. Moving past our comfort zone. Or where others might be comfortable with us living. Get curious on where you are stopping yourself. NO judgement, but just have a think. We work on: Reclaim what you want Celebrate yourself and what you have already done Vow to stay curious instead of shut down, figure out what's stopping you, or tripping you up, and then work on that to keep moving towards your hell yes. I talk about human design authority - find out where if you don't know what yours is https://www.myhumandesign.com/get-your-chart/ Msg me on IG @frommartyrtomagic or email me at shannoncairney@gmail.com Please rate and review the podcast on Apple podcasts - it means the world to me. Hi Beauties, Welcome to Week 2 of the Hell yes babes club. Learning how to say yes to the life and goals. Today's episode is all about movement and momentum. How to release what we no longer need or what's keeping us stuck. And how mini or small actions can lead to big goals and YES's. Rome was not built in a day, and actions compound on each other, the starting is the hardest part. Journal prompts: Releasing - What do I need to release? What's not mine? What are the things I no longer want to carry? The things that I'm ready to shed? A reminder that taking action is the hardest part and once we get the ball rolling it gets to be easy and even fun. The other side of taking the action is fun and play. Potential, creativity. Let me know what you think over on IG @frommartyrtomagic or email me shannoncairney@gmail.com Please rate and review the podcast and make sure to share this episode and tag me if you are enjoying this series . xo Shannon
Hi babes, how are you? I thought it would be fun to share a course I did awhile ago as a 5 part podcast series. Weclome to the Hell YES Babes Club. We dive into deciding what your Hell yes's and Hell No's are, and how we are going to get there. Who we need to become to embody these goals, dreams and hell yes's. How to quiet the mind chatter and listen to what we already know we want, or desire and actually follow it. We start out with baby Yes's and then progress on this 5 part series. Oh, and did I forgot to mention you pick a theme song?! It's pretty EPIC. Come have fun with us. And keep the conversation going over @frommartyrtomagic and let me know what your BIG YES is. Xo Shannon
A bit of a life update for you. I've had a lot going on, some really big changes, and learnings coming up and I thought I would share where I'm at. Right now, I'm in the unsexy part of my life. Doing the work. Making lots of small choices and taking small actions that add up over time. I riff on how I manifested my new job and some of the steps I took to make this happen. This is one of my biggest manifestations to date. And having a job offered to me, and being reached out to / getting the invitation made my little projector heart sign (Human design reference). I chat about what has come up for me as I continue to podcast regularly / weekly – and what that has been brought up for me. Learning to use my voice, and where it comes from. The lessons of committing to something even when you want to give up. How to be ok with ok and get over perfection. Spoiler alert, it isn't always easy but I continue to lean in. Showing up regardless and taking in the lessons along the way. After having her first child and feeling uninspired from the job she had left to go on mat leave, Katie used that time to really deep dive into what she wanted for her future. From that she started her blog, life coaching and many more trainings including NLP, EFT and of course Hypnotherapy which is what she does now. Helping people transform issues like anxiety, self worth & chronic pain using the tools of hypnotherapy can truly be life changing. How doing her own work and healing has really helped her hold space for her clients in a bigger capacity, on show herself the power of this work. The book that started it all for Katie - The Slight Edge – by Jeff Olson https://www.amazon.ca/Slight-Edge-Secret-Successful-Life/dp/0967285550/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1IMITQGFI9J67&keywords=the+slight+edge+by+jeff+olson&qid=1685502747&sprefix=the+slight+ed%2Caps%2C190&sr=8-3 Katie breaks down what a hypnotherapy session looks like and how we aren't rewriting memories or thoughts, more feel the feelings, process the emotions and feel a sense of safety afterwards and moving forward. So much of what we do is based on our subconcious thoughts and programming. This can be such a great tool when we get triggered or hit blocks or plateaus in our life and we don't know why. Well. . .it took a lot longer to get to part 2 of our relationship story. And mostly today is just a share on where we are right now. What it means and looks like to be married in midlife with kids. That the love will wilt if we don't tend to it. That it takes effort on both parts. Not only effort but also a willingness to look at our own shit, triggers and conditioning etc. That we all play a part in it. And of course, to have hard those conversations with some grace and tact. A few of my tips of what has been working. And again, I by no means am an expert, just a woman in a marriage sharing my own experience. Life is a wild trip and I just keep unpeeling layers and learning more. I would love to know what you think. What your experience is. Do you find this season of life hard? DO you have the whole marriage thing dialed or is there more that you want? Part 1 episode LISTEN HERE EP.19 From the brink of divorce and back. This is such a great interview with Danielle Searancke also known as @squamishmedium Danielle is a spiritual medium and mentor. Founder of the Spirit School online and now physical school opening this June. Check out her page to confirm the grand opening date if you are a Squamish Local. I will be there. I believe it's June 1st. Check out her IG for more info. Danielle talks about: My career has been built on saying the quiet part out loud. The human experience is about remembering and forgetting. She has such a great way of explaining mediumship and psychic abilities. Teaching these skills and making them very accessible and easy to understand and learn. Tuning in psychically is tuning into the energy around you, mediumship is tuning into the energy behind you – in the past. The glory of imperfection. That learning how to tune into the energy can be taught in a day but the bigger part of mediumship development is personal development. The creator never puts a vision in your heart you can't fill. Your body can't tell the difference between excitement and fear. So I get to choose, am I going to lean into this as a fearful feeling or as something new. Danielle's experience with PPMD, and how giving herself rest is part of her healing and keeping her energy balanced and this condition n check. Becoming aware of our trauma of being busy. Sitting in the stillness. Learning how to rest. Spirit is my agent, spirt is my algorithm. WE are always surrounded by the world of spirit. They see us as light. Developing and healing on the go. Authenticity is changing the game. This was such an amazing episode. I would love to hear what you think. Please reach out @frommartyrtomagic And you can find Danielle: https://www.squamishmedium.com/ @squamishmedium Podcast - Spirit School Xo Shannon
To be fully honest I have more questions than answers but I'm over being sold this 6 or 7 figure dream. This way of doing business and life that might not even be realistic or sustainable for most of us. I'm sick of promises not delivered. Online gurus selling how to live your best life when this is such an individual experience. A us vs them. An "I know more than you" "I channeled this teaching" or "I know what's best for you" - And this might seem a bit ranty or aggressive but I also think it needs to be spoken about. I don't get into too many specifics but I just think its important that we remember our own power. Just because what someone presents online looks better than your life does not mean it is or that it is what you want. I think there needs to be more openess. More individual choice and option. A feeling into what we want on our own terms. What feels good to us in this stage of life and less, this online coach or guru said this and they look like they have it together so I'm going to follow them. You are so powerful. Nothing also replaces the work we need to do, the self awareness and confidence that comes from within. Stop stepping outside of yourself and check in. What do you already know? What can you stop taking in that is making you feel like you need to hustle and do to be worthy or enjoy your life? I would love to know what you think about this. As always keep the conversation going over on IG @frommartyrtomagic xo Shannon
So excited to welcome today's guest Rebecca Canup. She is a Canadian writer and poet. A former health care worker who when things shifted in 2020 took a chance on her lifetime dream of writing full time. She has published two books, working on her third. She also is a writing mentor and facilitator encouraging others to write what they know, and leads with bravery and authenticity. Rebecca shares some of her creative process and says to make your mess, your message. That we can write about our trauma but also write about your healing. That's her favourite part. She talks about finding pockets of time as a mother and creative. Not wanting to give up on one for the other. How they can both coexist, althought it might look different and of course, sometimes the laundry must wait. This was a wonderful, refreshing conversation about creativity and writing. And I can't wait to read her 3rd book when it comes out. You can find out more about Rebecca below. https://www.burnforwords.org/ IG @burnforwords Where to buy her books https://www.elephantjournal.com/profile/rebecca-kneebone/
This is a personal share today. Feels a bit vulnerable but what the heck. I always learn the most through others shared experiences and stories and so I share mine as well. Growing up as an extremely shy child, I learned to push against my introverted ways and hide that part of me. It felt wrong and not something that would serve me in life. It felt like quiet people were weird and being outgoing and extroverted was the way to a successful life. I am so happy now that there are places like @introverteddear etc that help share the goodness of this quality and that you are not alone. ** I also wanted to preface that there is nothing wrong with having/ being an only children. This was my own personal experience/opinion growing up and I also think things have changed so much since then. It defintely doesn't seem like there is a stigma around it anymore and maybe this was just something I picked up as a child, since I also know friends who loved their expereince growing up as the only one. Funny, how we can all live the same experience and feel so differently about it. ** Would love to hear what you think about the episode over @frommartyrtomagic and don't forget to subscribe, rate, review and share the podcast. With much love, thanks for listening, xo Shannon
** Ladies, WOMEN, this is a must listen to episode. There is so much to unpack but here are a few key take aways and points from the episode. I could have also named this episode How to adorn yourself with beauty, have better sex, intimacy, connection with your husband / partner and start the boil of your own kettle. Embracing the feminine, learning to balance our energies, bring back the polarity and good sex and connection back. That other options are possible. Other ways to live our lives and not just give up on a good relationship, good marriage, and a great sex life. Love wants you to be the same and desire requires us to be different. We can't ignore our relationships and expect them to be exciting and growing. We need to put time and energy into it. Relearning our feminine energy. Being able to drop our masculine energy when needed. To lean back into the feminine. Acknowledging our energies are different and that is what we need for a good partnership, connection and sex. We need the polarity. How to move between energies. Being able to dance between the masculine and feminine energy. How to make snack breaks to help bring us back into the feminine. Flowers, listen to a song, food, candles, movement, dressing in something that you feel better in, Magnetism is just authenticity. Who you are in on the outside is who you are on the outside. No one ignites your sexual energy for you. What are you doing to ignite that? To get it started. Adornment. The hardest part is getting to 70 degrees. Learning to surrender. Learning to parent, mother, feel good, be aware of our time & energy. Today's solo episode is a quick throwback. Last spring I dove back into all things Brene Brown and I love the Man in the Arena quote by Theodore Roosevelt. Opinions are plenty and talk is cheap. Make sure you don't take everyones opinions or advice to heart. Are they doing what you want to do? Do they know you well, and see your strengths? Are they rooting for you? Be discerning. Putting your creations and ideas out there can be challenging. Surround yourself with good people. And make sure you share the episode and tag me - I'm doing a monthly giveaway for everyone that shares and reviews. Have a wonderful day, xo Shannon
A solo episode for you today on a subject near and dear to my heart and something that I love talking about. Creativity. This is something we all have access to. That we are innately born with but can be dulled as we start to block ourselves in the conditioning of life. Do you allow the space to listen to yourself? To allow yourself to get bored? Do you allow yourself time to experiment? and release the pressure for your creations or inspiration to be anything other than something to be followed on? Life is an experiment. I hope you allow yourself time to play and create just for the very enjoyment of doing that. It doesn't have to be anything other than listening to yourself. We have so much more wisdom than we realize. Here is the other epsiode that I was talking about on Journaling. EP. Journaling is one of my all-time favourite activities and a great way to tap into your creativity and innermost thoughts. Today's guest Kristin Hallett's greatest passion is to mirror someone's fear back to them as love and help humans to uncover their most inner essence. She says as she sits with the dying that presence is the greatest currency we hold, even more than time. Being truly present in the moment. She asks you who you want to be when you die. And helps people to peel back to your true essence with her unique method. "I want to help them talk about death but it's to help them start to think about life." She encapsulates human essence. The deeper part of yourself including the shadow parts. She helps give us tools to hold space for others in grief whether that is actual death or a living death of a relationship or life. You will not be disappointed in today's conversation. Please let us know what you think. Hello beauties and Happy International Women's day. I thought this was the perfect episode for today. Coming at you from my car again. I have a few solo episodes from the archives that I will be releasing over the next few weeks. And as I am on the road a lot and this is where the inspiration hits, so don't mind the background noise but sometimes we just have to record when inspiration strikes and time allows. I am so inspired by the women in my life. Who choose the brave path of constantly learning, loving, and showing up in a big way. Sometimes this is a huge leap and other times it just means taking some time for yourself and asking for what you want. I wouldn't be where I am today without the support of all of the amazing women in my life. Make sure you celebrate yourself and all the women in your life today. We thrive when we share, pick each other up and help each other along the way. We hold so much power, so don't forget that. You are amazing my friend. Please share this episode if it resonates. Rate and review the podcast. It means the world to me. And msg me IG @frommartyrtomagic and of course, have a wonderful day. xo Shannon
You do not want to miss today's episode. Kristin is a renowned yoga teacher, studio owner, founder of Squamish Water Kefir and so much more. And now she is helping us navigate mid-life and the wise crone years of womanhood. With her new No muck, No Lotus program she helps us reimagine what our lives and future can look like as women entering a new stage of our lives. And reminds us to schedule time for ourselves to help embody who we want to become. She bucks the narrative we have been fed and shows us how life is just beginning or at least in the Hump day of our years. This is such an important conversation and to have women like Kristin to look up to as we embrace aging and decide how we want to show up and envision our lives to look. Life is an experiment. And mostly she reinstills our capacity for possibility. This conversation left me feeling inspired. ** apologies for the dog barks in the background. This podcast is also an experiment and I'm learning as I go. Ie - let dog in, and have treats on hand hahaha ** I hope you enjoy today's episode. You can find Kristin at the below links: https://ageingwell.ca/ @ageingwell.ca @kristincampbellyoga @squamishwaterkefir And of course, please rate & review the podcast if you enjoyed today's episode. Hi Beauties, Welcome back. So excited to welcome a really good friend and exceptional human to the podcast today. Garett has come on to share openly and honestly about his journey with giving up alcohol and how it has changed his life. That it was more the start to peeling back the layers and coping mechanisms and really coming back to what makes him happy, how he shows up happier and feeling better than before. I know a lot of people are sober curious or would at least like to drink less. Our society has really trained us how drinking is the only way to be fun, connect with others, and relieve stress. Garett shows us how alcohol isn't always the answer, sometimes it's the exact opposite. I would love to hear what you think about this episode. Reach out to myself @frommartyrtomagic And reach out to Garett - let him know what you thought @ghalayko or his business @riseandshinesales I am sober app mentioned - https://iamsober.com/ Scott Todd Fitness And of course, subscribing, reviewing and sharing this episode on Apple podcast/ IG etc means the world to me. xo Shannon

Hi - hello. Welcome. Well, I'm back again. for episode #3/52 this year as I vowed to podcast weekly for 2023. This episode talks about this journey. How setting a goal seems like a great idea at the time, but following through is a whole other mind game. How we can fight ourselves or want to back out. And how I'm trying to set it and forget it. Just like my new gym routine. This is what we are doing, less thinking and more doing. Do you find following through on ideas or goals easy or hard? Where do you struggle? Let me know what you think. And continue the conversation with me more over at IG @frommartyrtomagic and just for kicks - have a listen to Bittersweet Symphony on Youtube Life isn't meant to be 100% good, you are doing great my friend. Hold on for the ride, and trust yourself to follow through on the goals you set for youself. You are wonderful. And I'll talk to you soon, Xo Shannon
Hi - and welcome to today's episode. I'm so excited to have this amazing human and one of my best friends on the show today, Angelisa Edwards from Braap Babes. She has been with me from almost the start of raising kids as well as my motorsports journey. Trying out new hobbies, getting into motorsports (sledding and dirtbiking), figuring out who we are after having kids, and having a whole heck of a lot of fun while doing it. Life is never boring with Ange. Angelisa comes from a snowboard background which she talks about. And transferred her love and passion into sledding and now adding dirt biking as well. After finding a severe lack of inspiration and women riders to sled with, she created her community Braap Babes to help build a support network of women to ride with. She has now expanded into dirt biking as well. Creating fun, community and encouragement. She talks about her passion for the sports and community. How motherhood affected her and how she started to bring joy back into her life. Tips and tricks to balancing family and your hobbies. And dont' forget she also has a podcast - Braap Babes Throttle talks (I will also link below) I'm going to listen to her Vision Journal & goal setting one shortly. CHECK IT OUT! She is inspiration and and OG badass. Check her out below and I hope you enjoy todays podcast. Let me know your feedback on IG @frommartyrtomagic And check Angelisa out on all of the below: IG - @angelisaedwards IG - @braapbabes_official YOUTUBE - Angelisa Edwards Tik Tok - @angelisaedwards Podcast - Braap Babes -Throttle Talks Other women she shouted out: @crystallovesmoto @megsbraap @stephsweezy
Well this is 2/52 for my goal of podcasting once a week for 2023. And what this weeks episode is all about. You set the goal. It felt magical. Now what? Now it's the boring, the tasks. The “I don't feel like it now”. How can we motivate ourselves but also be kind to ourselves? It's a marathon, not a sprint and we've got all year. Find me on IG @frommartyrtomagic and let's continue the conversation. I would love to hear what you think. Xo Shannon
Hi beauties, just short and sweet today. Wishing you all an amazing start to the NEW Year. Please let me know what topics and or and interview requests as I start to plan out the year. Also what are your goals for 2023? Let me know. Keep the conversation going on IG @frommartyrtomagic and I'll talk to you soon xoxo Shannon
Hi Beauties, It has been awhile. I hope you have been enjoying your summer. I was going through a bunch of recordings from the last year or two and decided to post a few of these episodes as a part of a summer series. I hope you have been soaking up this summer energy. I have been in major chill mode. I'm calling it "BE HERE NOW" summer. Just going with the flow. And just in the last day or two have felt creative or like creating content or episodes again. So I roll with it with little to no pressure. Would love to hear what you think about this episode. And look out for a rebrand coming SOON. I need to update my intro, as I'm now @frommartyrtomagic on IG - and have changed the vibe quite a bit. So keep your eyes peeled. So much love, xo Shannon
Hello beauties. Today I'm talking about one of my most favourite things in the whole world. Journaling. It might seem like something you did as teenager (dear diary, . . .) and not a thing you have time for as an adult but I honestly think this can be the key to unlocking so much. Journaling is having a conversation with yourself. Asking yourself questions, writing down your thoughts or just free writing with no intention other than to just get things out and see what lands on the page. You might surprise yourself. Free writing - can be a really simple way to get things out and get out of your own way. To stop filtering and just write. Set a timer for 10, 20 minutes and don't let your pen leave the page. Write whatever nonsense comes out. Just write. Shoe, blue, poo whatever comes up and you'll notice after awhile it will probably start to flow. Be unabashed. Permission to rip or burn the pages or hide your journal someplace safe. You want this to be a place where you ACTUALLY write out your true feelings not filter incase someone else reads it. THIS IS KEY. We need to get to know what we are truly feeling and thinking. Not what we feel is appropriate. This is a way to truly get to know yourself again. SO BE HONEST> Let her rip. Permission to say the things. and burn after if needed. You aren't married to what you right. Maybe it's not even entirely true. Maybe you just felt that in the moment, but do you see what I mean? You get a glimpse into some things you might not even be aware of. That this or that were making you feel a certain way. That you were anxious or jealous because of something that keeps happening. That you feel weird around a certain person. Anywho the options are endless but the point is that it might sound like nonsense or your average complaints and then something comes out that you were not aware of. It's a great way to process your thoughts. If you don't like the open ended free write - ask yourself some questions. How do I feel today? What's going on for me right now? What has been bothering me? Whatever feels like a juicy question to answer. Lean into that. Grab a beautiful journal if that helps you want to write. I love the dollar store journal because I write a lot and like to fill them up quickly. Grab a pen that feels good. I love bright colours and smooth flowing ink. And put on some meditation or binaural beats if that feels good. This is a practice, not a one and done. Maybe set up a point to write once a week if you are new to it. I find the more I Journal, the more I crave to write when things are going on for me. My one true confident. Would love to know what you think! Feedback, questions, future podcast suggestions as always reach out on IG @xo.shannonmargaret And your shares, likes, subscribes & reviews of the podcast mean the world to me. So much love and a lot of writing xoxox Shannon
Welcome back. Happy 2022!! I thought I would chat today on something a bit lighter. Personal style. And although this might seem not as important as healing, and goals or things like that. I would beg to differ. I have really embraced my boujee libra roots and accepted and honoured that my style, what I'm wearing, how my house looks affects me on a deeper level. And I'm going to throw it out there that it's probably affecting you too. Now this isn't to say that we have to spend a ton or money or any money at all. And I will get into that today on tips and ways to create this without spending, because their are lots. But just really diving into, how are you showing up. How are you presenting yourself? And mostly for the sole reason of how it makes you feel. I think this is way more important than how others look at you. We need to start with ourselves. If you are wanting to make more money, get a new job, start dating or have your husband desire you more. Treat you like a queen. Well. . . we need to start showing up as that person. And what better way than to dress the part. Think about it, in movies - if actors didn't dress as the character they were playing, think how less affective that would be. Yet. . I feel like we put it off as selfish, indulgent for ourselves to look and feel good. So where are you not showing up, dressing as the part you are wanting to play? If you want to make more money, dress like a boss (not a power suit) but what makes you FEEL like a boss. Like someone who makes amazing money. If you want to be ravished, noticed, adored by your husband. Start dressing in what makes you feel sexy. Start radiating that energy. Giving off those vibes. (again, doesn't need to be scandalous, just a piece of clothing that feels sexy to you, that you feel sexy in) And this can carry through to your house too. How does your house make you feel? When you walk in. Does it feel like the house of someone who ___________ (insert your desired feeling). And it can start with decluttering. Getting rid of things that don't feel aligned. Cleaning. Rearranging. Thrifting. Again - get creative. This doesn't have to cost money. But also permission if you do want to buy something new. Would LOVE to know what you think. Does this resonate? Do you struggle with this? Or does it come easy? Where is one area that you could step in up in? Are you intimidated by style or fashion, makeup or beauty? @charlygoss is the Calgary stylist I mentioned to does cost effective monthly style outs you can purchase. Let me know - DM over @xo.shannonmargaret to continue the conversation. And as always - please rate, review, and subscribe to the podcast. Share with a friend if it resonated. And let me know what else you would like to see on here. Xo Shannon

Hi! You guys the podcast is BACK! The start of season 2. I have some super exciting rebranding in the near future. But today's episode is something very near and dear to my heart. I share how I struggled in my marriage after having kids. How I felt stuck. Lost. Didn't know who my husband was or where that guy that I fell in love with went. It was hard and I struggled to get back. And most of all, I felt so lonely in this process. So if this can help anyone then my work is done. Whether you are meant to stay together or move apart. I promise you - as cliché as it sounds, working on yourself really will be the game changer and the thing you get to take with you forward no matter what. I would love to know what you think. What your experience has been. Was this helpful? What are you still struggling with? Connect with me over on IG @xo.shannonmargaret And Part 2 - will be following where I invite for the first time, my hubby, Lee - on the podcast. Scary. And vulnerable, but mostly exciting. It's always nice to get both points of view. BIG love always, xo Shannon
