My wife Jacqueline and I are excited and are grateful to Chancellor Randy Woodson and Athletic Director Debbie Yow for their collective confidence in affording me this historic opportunity.” Whittenburg worked with the Wolfpack men's basketball program as Senior Assistant to the Head Coach/Director of Player Development for two years prior to accepting his current position. The new position will develop and promote programming aimed to benefit current and former student-athletes, while also working to cultivate relationships with local and regional businesses regarding future employment opportunities for Wolfpack graduates. Additionally, Whittenburg's new role will include speaking at and hosting events for the athletic department and other affiliated organizations and supporting on-campus recruiting initiatives for each of Wolfpack's 23 varsity programs. “Dereck has been an effective ambassador for NC State Athletics for many years. This position will allow him to continue to have an impact on past, present, and future NC State student-athletes on our 23 varsity teams,” said Director of Athletics Debbie Yow. Whittenburg will also be advocating for former student-athletes to return to NC State to complete their respective degrees and will serve on NC State's professional sports panel.

In this role, he oversee the operations for the Cricket MEAC/SWAC Challenge Kick-Off game & the Cricket Celebration Bowl. Gantt serves as the staff lead for all venue and day of contest operational plans including the planning and coordination of the post-game trophy presentation as well as a number of other administrative responsibilities such as the event budget, marketing, ticket sells and website for both games. Prior to joining ESPN, Gantt served as the Interim Commissioner and the Associate Commissioner for the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). He served as the interim commissioner from January 2018 until August 2018. During his time at the SWAC, he oversaw the day-to-day operations and provided key oversight of the Conference's operations relating to strategic planning, governance, compliance and student-athlete services, NCAA, and institutional relations. Gantt works with the baseball, football and basketball officiating programs, and scheduling strategies for various sports. Gantt has served on a number of NCAA national cabinets and committees and served as the Chair of the NCAA Division I Award, Benefits, Expenses and Financial Aid Cabinet from September 2013 - November 2014. Before the SWAC office, Gantt served as the director of compliance at the University of Arkansas. He assisted with the day-to-day activities of the compliance office, including rules education, Southeastern Conference and NCAA rules interpretations, official and unofficial visits, complimentary tickets, national letters of intent and financial aid. Gantt joined the Razorback staff after spending a year as the director of compliance at Drake University. Before that, interned at the SEC office from August 2004 until going to Drake in January 2006. Before working at the SEC, he interned at Kentucky from August 2003 to February 2004. Gantt, is a native of Mt. Holly, N.J., where her attended high school at Rancocas Valley Regional High School. Gantt was a former student-athlete from the University of Kentucky from 1998-2001. He earned his bachelor's in education in May 2002 and his master's in Sport Management in December 2003, both from Kentucky. He is married to Nneka (Nikki) and they have a son, Nathan and a daughter, Charli.

The team responds to reports of potential violations of DePaul policy and compliance with state and federal law.

For well over a decade, she worked in the sports industry with roles at The Ohio State University Department of Athletics, NBA Orlando Magic, MLB Atlanta Braves, and North Carolina State University Department of Athletics, among others. Many notable career highlights included, but are not limited to: first ever WNBA Pre-Draft Camp, various NBA Draft and Playoff events, several NCAA playoff tournaments including men's and women's soccer as well as men's and women's college basketball as well as the inaugural Division 1A Athletic Director's Association (now LEAD1) Sportsmanship Award for the Get "WITH" the Pack initiative. She also earned recognition by the NCAA and NACMA for leading one of the best marketing efforts for women's basketball. She is most proud to have been part of the collaborative effort that launched the inaugural “Hoops for Hope” women's basketball game in honor of Naismith Hall of Fame Coach Kay Yow, raising significant awareness and funding for breast cancer research. The effort served as the catalyst and predecessor to the now annual and nationwide Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Play4Kay series of games benefiting the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.

Medina has coached women's basketball at many levels (high school, junior college and NAIA) for the last 16 years. As a collegiate head coach, Medina earned NCCAA West Region Coach of the Year accolades two years back to back while at Bethesda University. During that time, she was the first and only Mexico-born head coach at the collegiate level for both men and women. She made her transition from coaching to athletic administration by first becoming a Sports Management professor at Our Lady of the Lake University in Texas and then at Bowie State University. Medina received her bachelors in Sociology from San Diego State in 2009 and earned a Master's in Education and another in Organizational Leadership from National University in 2013. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Psychology with an emphasis on mental health.

Once he completed his master's degree, Mr. Briggs decided to further his education goals once again at the Florida State University College of Law earning his juris doctorate in 2006. During his time in law school, Mr. Briggs was employed as a law clerk by the top tier public finance firm Bryant Miller Olive and was also selected as a United States Senate Legal Extern. Mr. Briggs also completed two years of national leadership on the National Black Law Students Association Executive Board while also serving as a Lieutenant Governor in the ABA Law Student Division, Vice President of the Student Bar Association, and a member of his law school trial team. After completing his externship as a US Senate Legal Fellow, Mr. Briggs was hired by the NFL Players Association to manage their Financial Programs Department. Currently, he is the Public Policy Counsel of the NFLPA and the first individual to lead the NFLPA Government Relations Department. Mr. Briggs is also a professor at Georgetown University and often speaks on subjects ranging from politics to sports and everything in between.

Prior to assuming his role at JSU Jones worked at Alabama State University, where he served as Deputy Director of Athletics. Jones spent five years at ASU where he oversaw the department's day-to-day operations, served as the departmental liaison with the external partners, and was charged with the development of revenue generation and sports oversight. He monitored and assisted in managing budgets for various sports and provided hands-on leadership to the ASU External Operations Units and University Development, respectively. He also managed the human resource operations of the department and conducted head coaching and staffing searches for the Hornet sports programs. During his tenure, ASU won 43 Southwestern Athletic Conference championships, three consecutive commissioner cups, and two conference academic awards for highest GPA. Jones was also responsible for the development of the ASU Football Ring of Honor, as well as the implementation of the ASU Athletics Hall of Fame, which named its inaugural class in 2021. He was also responsible for local television deals that brought ASU Football games and coach's shows to the Montgomery market. Jones also spearheaded various negotiations for the department, including PEAK Sports Marketing, Vivature, and sports medicine partnerships, respectively.    Jones has worked at a pair of additional Division I HBCUs. He had stints at North Carolina Central University (2006-2014) and Delaware State University (2014-2016) working primarily in marketing, development, and external operations. At North Carolina Central, he served as the primary administrator for student spirit groups, brand enhancement, and special events.   At Delaware State, Terrance was instrumental in bringing TicketReturn to the department and developing policies to assist with sales and ticket management while implementing new auditing processes. He also assisted with oversight of the Athletics Business Office and served as sports administrator for cheer, women's golf, and the men's and women's track and field programs. Jones also served as the liaison to University Development and Marketing in the development of the University's Capital Campaign.  While at NCCU, Jones served as an integral part of the game-day experience, with a leadership role in marketing scripts, planning, and game operations management. Jones has participated in the NCAA Dr. Charles Whictomb Leadership Institute (Recession Proof Class) the NCAA Continuing Leadership Series for Administrators and has served the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) and the National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD) as conference representatives for the MEAC and SWAC respectively. Jones also participated in the APPLE Conference sponsored by the NCAA and the University of Virginia's Gordie Center for Substance Abuse. Hutchinson joined Earlham Athletics from Kean University, an NCAA Division III institution in Union, New Jersey. He has served as assistant director of athletics for internal operations and student-athlete development since October 2020. In that role, he coordinated and developed a comprehensive development program for over 400 student-athletes in the athletic department. In addition, he had oversight of diversity and inclusion initiatives for the department. Other duties included assisting with the oversight of internal business operations while developing policies and procedures that enhanced the academic success and graduation of every student-athlete.  While at Kean, Hutchinson also served as the athletics diversity and inclusion designee and was the point of communication between the NCAA national office, athletics department, the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), and campus with information around inclusive programs, emerging diversity issues and other related equity initiatives that needed to be shared or addressed. Hutchinson was the head men's basketball coach at Kean from October 2018 to August 2020. Hutchinson arrived at Kean before the 2018-19 season after working at Amherst College, Washington & Lee University, Case Western Reserve University, and Stevens Institute of Technology. At Amherst, he was an assistant men's basketball coach for one season with the Mammoths. Hutchinson's defense finished the season ranked No. 1 in Division III in defensive field goal percentage. Before Amherst, Hutchinson was the head men's basketball coach at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, for 14 seasons (2003-2017). During his time with the Generals, he became the second-winningest coach in program history with 154 victories and reached the ODAC title game in 2009 and the semifinals in 2014 and 2017. In 2008, he was named both the ODAC Coach of the Year and the VaSID College Division Coach of the Year. His tenure also saw losing streaks to Randolph-Macon College and Roanoke College snapped. He also had the reins for two seasons at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland (2001-2003) and Stevens Institute of Technology (1999-2001). With the Spartans of Case Western, he recruited two multiple-time All-UAA selections and the school's all-time leading scorer and rebounder. With the Ducks, the team saw improvements in wins and a third-place finish in the Skyline. A 1993 graduate of Amherst College, he played from 1989 to 1993 and earned a bachelor of arts degree in Black Studies. He earned his master of science in sports management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst after receiving an NCAA Graduate Scholarship for Careers in Athletics (only eight awarded each year nationally based on distinction earned as an undergraduate).  Hutchinson earned a graduate certificate in Diversity & Inclusion from Cornell University in February 2020 and has been a guest speaker at the NCAA Division III Institute for Administrative Advancement since 2019. Frazier's Bio In his ninth year at the helm of the Northern Illinois University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Sean T. Frazier has guided the Huskies to historic milestones competitively, academically, and socially, cementing his status as both a national and community leader in diversity and inclusion and led successful fundraising efforts that have transformed the student-athlete experience at NIU.  The passage of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) legislation at the state and NCAA levels, the proposed expansion of the College Football Playoff, and shifting conference affiliations, added to the significant challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, have seen Frazier take the lead on a local, conference and national level, and continue to adapt to change while setting NIU firmly on a path forward now and for the future. After https://niuhuskies.com/news/2020/12/15/success-redefined-a-season-like-no-other.aspx (COVID-19 shut down college athletics) in March 2020, Frazier directed the Huskies through a school year and competition season unlike any other, with a focus on protecting the health of NIU student-athletes while providing them with opportunities to compete. Through the pandemic and despite moving to a completely virtual format, NIU's two premiere fundraising events – Huskies Invest and the Virtual Victor E. Bash – enjoyed record-setting years.  Two NIU teams enjoyed extraordinary success through the extraordinary circumstances of 2020-21 as the Huskie women's cross country and women's indoor track and field teams claimed the first Mid-American Conference Championships in school history for those programs. Their wins were the ninth and 10th MAC Championships won by Huskie teams during Frazier's tenure at NIU, the most MAC titles won under the leadership of any athletic administration in school history. The Huskies also saw men's and women's golf, men's tennis, and gymnastics narrowly miss adding to the championships list with second-place MAC finishes last year. Huskie football has claimed two MAC titles (2014, 2018) and entered 2021 as the winningest FBS team in the state of Illinois and in the MAC over the last 10 years. Men's and women's basketball have both broken postseason droughts under Frazier, with men's basketball making its first postseason appearance in 20 years in 2016, while the women's team earned a bid to the WNIT Tournament in 2017. Men's basketball claimed the MAC West Division title in 2020 before COVID canceled the MAC Tournament, and volleyball (2015, 2016), gymnastics (2019) and men's tennis (2014, 2015) have all been collected MAC Championship trophies since Frazier's arrival in 2013.

Timothy Orr (Tim) is an Assistant Professor/ Coordinator of Sport Administration Graduate Program at Hampton University. Prior to working at Hampton University, he served as the Coordinator of the Sport Management Program at Elizabeth City State University (ECSU). During his stint at ECSU he also served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Assistant Head Football Coach. He holds a BS in Industrial Technology from East Carolina University (1988), MSS in Sport Management from the United States Sports Academy (1993) and an EdD in Sport Management from Northcentral University.  His interest is in intercollegiate athletic administration and student athlete academic and support services. His dissertation was entitled “Faculty Experience with and Perceptions of their role in Athletic Reform at a Division II University.  He has written an article in the American Football Monthly Journal, entitled “The Mental Aspect of Winning in the Trenches”.  He has successfully directed a NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletic program and served as director of marketing and public relations for a Division II intercollegiate athletic conference. He has over 20 years football coaching experience on both Division I and II level. Plus over 12 years of teaching experience in higher education. Today we speak to… Kenneth Ward is currently the Executive Director of College Bound, Inc. in Washington, D.C. As a Fulbright Memorial scholar in Japan and a seasoned D.C. educator and administrator for 15years, he has been instrumental in creating academic and personal enrichment programs for students, such as the Young Ambassadors program. Since its inception in 2000, this male-mentoring program has allowed him to take participants on life-changing international trips annually where they explore their historical and cultural roots; visiting schools, universities, local villages, and slave castles. This initiative gave birth to the College Bound International Study Tour that is a coed version of this program that fosters study abroad opportunities for College Mr.Ward holds a Bachelor's degree in communications from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he matriculated on a Pogue Scholarship and a Master's degree in educationfrom Trinity. He was hired as the Executive Director of College Bound in 2009. During this full time tenure at College Bound, he has opened three workplace mentoring sites and implemented a Virtual Mentoring Program designed to support the program's alumni to college degree completion. Tony O'Neal was named the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Claflin University on July 1, 2020. O'Neal was selected for the Claflin position after a national search. O'Neal has served at the senior administrative level of college athletics for more than two decades, including stints at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Fla., and Savannah State University in Savannah, Ga.  He spent 17 years in the athletics department at Bethune-Cookman University. For the past five years, he served as the senior associate athletic director of facilities and strategic initiatives. During his time in Daytona Beach, O'Neal served as the director of athletics at Savannah State University, managing the University's 15 intercollegiate men's and women's athletic teams. In this episode, we speak with Merlene Aitken - Smith. At Grambling State, she will lead the athletics compliance program and supervise the academic services program, which facilitates and supports academic advising and tutorial services for student-athletes. Aitken-Smith will partner with and serve as the primary liaison for the Title IX, Financial Aid, and Registrar's Offices to ensure compliance and proper certification of student-athlete eligibility consistent with NCAA and SWAC rules and regulations.  She will report directly to Grambling State President Rick Gallot and have an indirect reporting line to Ponton. In this episode, we speak with Dr. Angel Mason is the Director of Athletics, Berry University (NCAA Division III), Rome, GA. Mason boasts 14 years of experience as a coach, administrator, and Division III advocate. A native of Evanston, Ill., she joined Berry from Pomona College where she served as the Senior Associate Athletic Director and SWA for Pomona-Pitzer Athletics, assisting the Sagehen's athletics director in all day-to-day operations for the Department of Physical Education and Athletics. She assisted in the oversight of 21 varsity sports, compliance, internal operations, department budget and serves as the Deputy Title IX coordinator. Mason is actively involved in several Division III national committees including serving as the chair of both the NCAA financial aid committee and the Division III technology committee. Mason is an active member of the Women Leaders in College Sports organization where she has served on the awards committee and currently serves as a member of the nominating committee. In this episode, we speak with, Kevin Wilson who took over the position of Vice President of Advancement, Athletics, and Campus Recreation in July of 2021. Wilson's responsibilities include fundraising for the university, directing the department of athletics, and overseeing the campus recreation center, the Linc. A proven veteran in both the realms of college athletics and university development, Wilson has experience working at a plethora of different programs, ranging from Historically Black Colleges & Universities to the highest level of NCAA Division I. Wilson's resume boasts success as both a fundraiser and as an athletic administrator, and his vast experience has led to multiple invitations to give presentations at multiple national conferences over the past eight years. Wilson began his career in college athletics at North Carolina Central University, starting as the Director of Basketball Operations for the men's program before transitioning into a role as a development associate.
