SEASON 04: WICKED GOOD WELLNESS | EPISODE 01 Digital Wellness with Bryce Reddy Today's guest is Bryce Reddy. Many of you know Bryce from her popular Instagram account, Mom Brain Therapist. You may have considered how much screen time your kids are getting, what age they should have a phone or if they should be on social media, but have you thought about your own social media consumption? Bryce is sharing with us how she shifted her entire platform to support moms through digital wellness. Spoiler alert: what she found was that parents (herself included) were much happier, calmer and less anxious when they set stronger boundaries around their own social media use and screen time. This conversation is fascinating and we are so glad you are tuning into Digital Wellness with Bryce Reddy! About Our Guest BRYCE REDDY is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Mom of 3 living on Cape Cod with her husband and 3 kids (9,6,1). After spending several years creating parenting content for social media, she started to question just how helpful all this time on phones and expert “advice” really was for parents and their mental health. With her background in addiction treatment and maternal mental health, she has transitioned her online work to supporting parents in re-evaluating their relationships with their phones and social media, so that they can feel more present, connected and HAPPY in the here and now of their offline lives. Herself included! Bryce currently works with parents in her telehealth private practice and writes a weekly newsletter "Unfollowed" about the impact of phones and social media on maternal mental health. SEASON 02: BONUS EPISODE 07 10 Years Since the Boston Marathon Bombing We have a very special bonus episode for you today. It's been 10 years since the Boston Marathon bombing. An event that impacted so many lives forever. An event that caused the country to rally around Boston. An event that strengthened and united Bostonians like never before. We became Boston Strong. Today we are taking a minute to reflect back to that day in 2013, but also to tell a redemption story ten years in the making. Thank you for joining us for this very special bonus episode. Our guest today is one of our Boston Moms Senior Contributing Writers. On Monday, April 15, 2013 at 2:49pm, she was volunteering one block from the Boston Marathon finish line; bagging food for hungry, exhausted runners. Fast forward ten years later, and our very own Kristen Douthit will be running the 2023 Boston Marathon on April 17. Proud is an understatement. We are so thankful to Kristen for making time to share her story with us between marathon training, work and momming her 3 kids. About Our Guest KRISTEN DOUTHIT is Southern by birth, but has called Boston home since 2008. Unlike most Boston natives, she still really loves the snow and cold. She and her husband have two energetic, kind sons (2013, 2014) and a sassy, smart baby girl (2016). Kristen jokes that she has a masters degree in laundry, and a PhD in child conflict resolution — which she uses far more than her actual physics and politics degrees. After seven years as a stay-at-home mom, Kristen went back to work full-time in 2021 as a program coordinator for a research lab at Boston Children's Hospital. In her “spare” time, she runs her own business, serves on multiple alumni committees for her alma mater, and runs marathons. Her passion is seeing moms feel comfortable in their own skin and less alone in the chaos that is motherhood. SEASON 02: WICKED GOOD PREGNANCY | EPISODE 04 Two Lives Forever Changed By Surrogacy with Ashleigh Donahue + Emma Swartz Welcome back listeners! We have covered such a wide variety of topics in our Wicked Good Pregnancy series, and today's show is really special. One of our guests today actually reached out to us asking if we could shine a light on surrogacy, and of course the answer was, "yes!" We are thrilled to learn more about this family building option, and to hear from a surrogate and intended parent: two lives forever changed by surrogacy. About Our Guest EMMA SWARTZ is a North Shore mom who welcomed a baby boy via surrogacy in October 2022. Emma and her husband lost their first born in June of 2020 when she was 27 weeks pregnant, and she went into cardiac arrest. Miraculously she survived and after 100 plus days in the ICU, Emma began her healing journey. It was a long road learning how to walk again, regaining her strength and grieving the loss of her son. A year or so later she began IVF, hopeful that she and her husband could make embryos for a surrogate. After 3 rounds of IVF, Emma and her husband were able to transfer their single embryo to a superhero gestational carrier. Emma is currently a stay at home mom, but makes it her life mission to do what she can to make sure this doesn't happen to others, as well as give hope to those who are going through their own struggles with infertility. ASHLEIGH DONAHUE is a South Shore mama of two amazing little girls, ages 7 and 4. She works as a virtual Licensed Mental Health Therapist. WICKED GOOD MOMCAST | EPISODE 15 Buy Boston Guide to Shopping Local with Amber Michele Today's episode is a ton of fun and just in time for the holidays. We are bringing you everything you need to know to shop locally this holiday season, and beyond. Stay tuned for our gift recommendations for the men in your life, the kids, and of course something for the ladies! Don't go anywhere, this is the episode you need before finishing your holiday shopping. About Our Guest AMBER MICHELE is originally from Brooklyn, New York, but has lived in the Boston area (currently Cambridge) for double digits now. In previous years she spent her time commuting for auditions and SAG-AFTRA work between New York City and Boston. As of May 2020, she is mom to her daughter, with her long-time boyfriend, and their crazy and cuddly cats — a brother-sister duo named Helios and Selene, respectively.Constantly on the lookout for “ways to elevate her every day,” and yours, too, she recently completed her yoga teacher training as she finds it important to find and create movement every day. Which is easy enough, with her love for and household full of music, from Biggie to Beethoven to Billie Holiday and beyond. Always keeping an eye out for creative adventures in and around New England, Amber will jump at any chance to visit the local farms to visit the goats and simply be outdoors. Otherwise, she's often found by the window, calligraphy pen in hand, practicing her favorite craft. After enjoying a hiatus from the restaurant and hospitality industry while being a SAHM mom, Amber is currently working — and learning — in the world of tech. Amber will always hype: brunch and simply ALL food, dancing — the sillier the better, travel and any chance to be at the beach. You can miss her with: cold wet weather (even though she was born in January?!) and horror movies. How to Keep in Touch www.AmberMichele.com Follow Amber on Instagram What is the Wicked Good Momcast?
