Ossowskiego opracował przełomową technikę pozyskiwania DNA z materiału kostnego, choć w kościach zachowuje się on wręcz fatalnie. – To jest materiał, który jest zupełnie zniszczony. W próbkach kości mówimy o pikogramach DNA, a w materiale z krwi mamy setki albo nawet tysiące razy więcej materiału – opowiada profesor. - Gdyby Państwowa Komisja Wyborcza chciała podjąć decyzję pozytywną dla Prawa i Sprawiedliwości, to by ją podjęła - uważa prof. Szymon Ossowski, politolog z Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu. Ossowski. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Won't someone please think of the children? There's a long history of politicians weaponizing supposed concern over protecting children to impose repressive legislation on the people. The latest example is the Kids Online Safety Act, a transparent attempt to smuggle widespread censorship past the people under the guise of keeping children safe. Matt Kibbe talks to Yaël Ossowski, deputy director at the Consumer Choice Center, about the importance of free speech and privacy online and the dangers bills such as this one create to a free and open internet.

Your Heard Tell Show for Wednesday, August 15th, 2023 is turning down the noise of the news cycle and getting to the information we need to discern our times by welcoming Consumer Choice Center's Deputy Directory Yael Ossowski back to the program. Yael walks us through his piece in USA Today about the FTC going after Amazon, how this is just a new version of a long-running debate between government and the biggest retailers/companies around, the difference between good regulation and bad policy, how "the curse of bigness" isn't the same as antitrust or a monopoly, and how legitimate issues of Amazon doing wrong for consumers gets glossed over by government overreach. Plus, we have Neetu Arnold from Young Voices joining to talk about the student loan debt relief debate. Neetu discusses how the recent court cases are reshaping efforts to address student loan debt but not doing much to solve the core problems, how student loan debt doesn't get the protections for the borrower other loans do, the predatory system that is making it worse, and how there won't be a one-size-fits-all answer to the issue. All that and more on this edition of Heard Tell.--------------------Heard Tell SubStack Free to subscribe, comes right to your inboxQuestions, comments, concerns, ideas, or epistles? The question has become cliche: Why doesn't Europe have “Big Tech” companies? Critics of the European Union's approach to tech regulation say it's just that—they've regulated too much. But proponents of a stronger hand say America's relative “light-touch” has left consumers unprotected from abuse of their personal and sensitive data. As the EU continues to lead the democratic world in regulating tech, will their standards become the global standard, or will tech firms start splintering their products and user experiences for different markets? Is the impact of European regulation overplayed? Can differences in the continent's tech sector be better explained by a more conservative investment culture than the risk-taking of Silicon Valley? Evan discusses all that and more with Yael Ossowski, deputy director of Consumer Choice Center, a global consumer advocacy group. Check out his radio show & podcast Consumer Choice Radio here.

On this Heard Tell Good Talks our guest is Yael Ossowski of Consumer Choice Center, great friend of the program, who joins us to talk about the FTX story and how - while crypto is one facet of this scandal - the real story is how Sam Bankman-Fried and associates have perpetrated one of the biggest frauds in recorded human history. Yael also talks about how the news media is covering the FTX story, what it means for the future for cryptocurrency, what regulation might be coming because of this, and how Washington, D.C. and the EU will be looking to move in going forward.--------------------Questions, comments, concerns, ideas, or epistles? Your Heard Tell for Wednesday, November 30th, 2022, is turning down the noise of the news cycle and getting to the information we need to discern our times by once again reviewing the tremendous fraud, waste, and abuse that "do something" legislating during COVID-19 crisis as more investigations show how fraudsters took advantage of unaccoutable governement, and why we are doomed to repeat this fail loop if we don't learn the lesson. We go to West Virginia, which has seen the Mountain State go from a Democratic Party super majority rule to Republican Party super majority control in under 25 years, and yet the state's problems, challenges, and rankings against other states on things like business and education are unchanged, and what lesson we should learn about the narrative that just giving one party power or winning the next election means nothing without good governance. Our guest is Yael Ossowski of Consumer Choice Center, great friend of the program, who joins us to talk about the FTX story and how - while crypto is one facet of this scandal - the real story is how Sam Bankman-Fried and associates have perpetrated one of the biggest frauds in recorded human history. Yael also talks about how the news media is covering the FTX story, what it means for the future for cryptocurrency, what regulation might be coming because of this, and how Washington, D.C. and the EU will be looking to move in going forward. Also, the 11th Circuit has vacated the special master and court intervention into the DOJ's investigation and search warrant and siezure of documents at former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago property, and how Trump playing fast and loose with not only documents but who he has been meeting with at Mar-a-Lago is part and parcel with what whe know about how the former president treats things like the law, the truth, and his own priorities. Plus, a New Zealand sports legend and Olympic gold medal winner passes away, but leaves an amazing legacy when it comes to helping others participate in life and sport with disablitiies like he did.All that and more on this Friday edition of Heard Tell.--------------------Questions, comments, concerns, ideas, or epistles? “If the pandemic taught us anything about public perceptions of risk, it is that we must empower individuals to make decisions to improve their own situation rather than making it for them.” ~ Yaël Ossowski
“If antitrust actions go too far, it wouldn't deliver us an era of perfect competition or vast choices. It would deny internet consumers of innovative options and stall the entrepreneurial forces that have allowed them to grow and provide value.” ~ Yaël Ossowski
Guest Yael Ossowski joins to give a European point of view to the crisis, and how being only a few hours from a shooting war is being perceived, and is western media accurately portraying the European response.
