Cyprium Metals Ltd (ASX:CYM, OTC:CYPMF) executive chair Matt Fifield talked with Proactive's Tylah Tully about a resource update at the Maroochydore Project and its divestment of the Meekatharra Project to Solstice Minerals Ltd (ASX: SLS). Fifield highlighted that Maroochydore, which is 80 kilometres from the company's Nifty Copper Complex in WA's Paterson Province, now contains a substantial 371 million tonnes at 0.43% copper, with a cobalt credit. He explained that Cyprium had reassessed the deposit with a sulphide-focused approach, leading to a clearer picture of its economic potential. At a higher cut-off grade, the project holds approximately 100 million tonnes at just under 0.7% copper, representing a strong potential mine opportunity. The company is now considering ways to integrate Maroochydore with Nifty's infrastructure, including ore sorting, leaching and other processing concepts. While further work is required, Fifield expressed confidence in the project's long-term value. Additionally, Cyprium Metals announced the divestment of the Meekatharra Project to Solstice Minerals Ltd, a deal involving cash and shares. The move aligns with its strategy to focus on core assets in the Paterson region, enhancing shareholder value. Looking ahead, Fifield pointed to ongoing technical work, a strategic alliance with McMahon, and financial updates as key areas to watch in 2025. #CypriumMetals #CopperMining #Maroochydore #MiningStocks #Cobalt #PatersonRegion #NiftyCopper #Meekatharra #SolsticeMinerals #Investing #MiningNews #ProactiveInvestors

Cyprium Metals Ltd (ASX:CYM, OTC:CYPMF) executive chair Matt Fifield talks with Proactive's Tylah Tully about the company's latest developments and its ambitious 2025 plans. Fifield emphasised the transformational impact of 2024, which included the release of a pre-feasibility study (PFS) for the Nifty Copper Complex in Western Australia. This study detailed plans for surface mining and a refurbished concentrator, projecting a net present value of $1 billion, $4 billion in life-of-mine cash flow and 20 years of reserves. Fifield also announced a significant strategic alliance with Macmahon Holdings Ltd, calling it "massive" for Cyprium Metals. He explained that Macmahon's expertise, presence in Western Australia and familiarity with large-scale operations made them an ideal partner to execute the bankable feasibility study and support project implementation. "This partnership ensures the best pathway forward with a tier-one contractor," he said. To finance the project, Cyprium Metals is exploring multiple avenues, including leveraging its Glencore offtake facility, engaging government-backed lender, and considering strategic investors for a minority stake in Nifty. These initiatives are part of the company's clear plans to deliver value in 2025. #ProactiveInvestors #CypriumMetals #ASX #OTC #NiftyCopperComplex #Macmahon #CopperMining #MiningNews #MattFifield

Cyprium Metals Ltd (ASX:CYM, OTC:CYPMF) executive chair Matt Fifield is back in the Proactive studio to discuss a pivotal partnership with mining giant Glencore, set to resurrect production at the Nifty copper complex in Western Australia. The milestone collaboration, which includes a cathode offtake term sheet, aims to ensure transparent pricing and access to global markets, mitigating risks for Cyprium and allowing the company to focus on executing its copper strategy. What's more, Fifield explains the contract provides revenue certainty during Nifty's initial phases and includes provisions for accepting off-spec cathode materials at Glencore's Townsville refinery. In addition, Cyprium has flagged it will enter a sulphuric acid supply agreement with Glencore. One significant feature of the partnership is a A$20 million prepayment/working capital facility on copper production, pending final agreements. Furthermore, Cyprium and Glencore have agreed on a concentrate offtake term sheet for 100% of copper concentrate from Nifty's new surface mine, starting from 2026. Glencore will make efforts to deliver Nifty concentrates to its Mt Isa Smelter and provide technical support to Cyprium. The partnership also includes low treatment and refining charges, an option for Cyprium to purchase sulphuric acid and technical support from Glencore Technology. Cyprium Metals Ltd (ASX:CYM) executive chair Matt Fifield joins Proactive's Jonathan Jackson after the company completed and published the Nifty Surface Mine Scoping Study, confirming the economic viability of a large surface mine. The study highlights that the optimal pit is estimated to contain 70 million tonnes of sulphide ore at 0.9% copper, leading to an expected recovery of 570,000 tonnes of copper through a concentrator over the mine's life. The proposed truck-shovel surface mine is expected to generate approximately 4.5 million tonnes of ore feed per year, with anticipated average annual production of 36,000 tonnes of contained copper-in-concentrate through an expanded plant. The projected capital expenditure is A$175 million, covering plant refurbishment, expansion and ancillary site capital, excluding the cost of the mobile fleet. The preliminary design ensures that 89% of life-of-mine waste disposal requirements can be met within currently permitted disturbance areas. The study reports a Net Present Value (NPV8%) of $880 million and an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 46% at a copper price of A$13,000 per tonne. The board has approved advancing the project to a pre-feasibility study. Fifield stated that this study consolidated months of work and outlined a high-level plan for accessing the large sulphide resource at Nifty. The plan includes a truck-shovel surface mine and moderate investment in the brownfield processing plant, aiming to nearly double its throughput. On today's show, Alex and Calvin continue to break down the concept of “Manipulation” in rhetoric and political discourse, recapping part one of this series, demonstrating strategies for identifying and critiquing manipulation, and discussing how this kind of large-scale “mind control” is affecting contemporary foreign policy discourse in the US.The term manipulation, as we define it, comes from a school of linguistic and discourse analysis known as Critical Discourse Studies (CDS), which is primarily concerned with the ways language is used to reinforce inequality and power differentials in society. We walk through how the term is defined by CDS scholar Teun van Dijk, from his landmark 2006 article “Discourse and Manipulation.” In it, van Dijk gives us a toolkit for understanding 3 different levels of manipulation: (1) social, which designates the human relationships, power positions, and organizational and political resources required to effect manipulation at scale; (2) cognitive, which designates how manipulative language forms mental models that influence people's thoughts and actions in the world; and (3) discursive, which captures the various linguistic, stylistic, and rhetorical strategies that tend to recur in manipulation. This time, to put this term in context, we analyze an example of discourse manipulation surrounding US foreign policy, specifically as it relates to Israel's ongoing war on Gaza: President Joe Biden's November 18 opinion article in the Washington Post, entitled “The U.S. won't back down from the challenge of Putin and Hamas.” We closely analyze how President Biden uses manipulation strategies straight out of Van Dijk to persuade WaPo-reading liberals to ignore both the US's constant and substantial material support for Israel's war and its own military's history of bloody and destructive imperialism throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and elsewhere in the world. We also note various tactics that the president deploys to naturalize inequality and normalize bigotry, all while touting the US's role as the “essential” peace-loving, freedom-spreading nation. “The U.S. won't back down from the challenge of Putin and Hamas” - Joe BidenLink to Part One of this SeriesWorks and Concepts Cited in this Episode:Azoulay, A., & Ophir, A. While much of the world is battling with inflation, China is dealing with deflation - and it could have a big impact on New Zealand exports. In New Zealand, consumer prices have been rising steadily, recently by more than seven percent annually. But in China, the official consumer price index fell by point-three-percent last month compared to a year earlier, sparking fears of the flow on effect for other countries which rely on Chinese trade. Being a registered Zoo or wildlife park in New Zealand doesn't automatically guarantee best practice for animal protection. Karen Fifield is the Chief Executive of Wellington Zoo and she was also recently apppointed Vice President of World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. WAZA is a global alliance whose members are dedicated to the care and conservation of animals and their habitats around the world. She says protecting wildlife is a key plank of being an accredited member of WAZA, and it ensures facilities are progressive and do work beyond breeding animals. Zoos and wildlife parks here have to meet Government guidelines and minimum standards around containment, but Ms Fifield says that's different to conservation and protection measures.
