When it comes to health and wellness there is no shortage of information on the interwebs. I would argue that there is way too much information, and trying to sift through what's true and what's garbage is enough to make anyone throw up their hands in despair. (And don’t even get me started on the number of “thought leaders” and “influencers” complicating things even further). Because it’s so difficult to discern what works and what’s a gimmick, most people only approach their health on an as-needed basis (who’s got time for anything else?). When something goes wrong, you go to the doctor. In fact, that’s what our traditional medical system is designed to do - treat sickness. But what if you strive to be more than just “not sick” and instead you want to optimize your health? I spent most of my life simply thinking the doctor was there to help me when I was sick, which led me to literally hitting rock bottom both mentally and physically before I decided to take an active role in my health and well-being. When I finally looked for help I was disillusioned by what conventional western medicine doctors had to offer me. Then I found Dr. Edison de Mello and The Akasha Center. How to strengthen your immune system to reduce the severity of symptoms should you come in contact with the virus. Calm your immune system & reduce stress: Practice gratitude, meditate, and laugh. On this episode my guest is Dr. Jiling Hu. She is a licensed acupuncturist with an office in West Los Angeles. Dr. Hu has over 30 years clinical experience in gynecology and endocrinology and specializes in treating endocrine issues and women’s reproductive and overall health. She specializes in fertility challenges that are related to immune and endocrine disorders, unexplained infertility, irregular menstruation, PCOS, dysmenorrhea, menopause and other female aging related conditions. Her extensive education in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine gives her a unique perspective in treating her patients holistically. However, when a child passes on, the grief experienced by the parents is undescribable.  Miriam Slozberg interviews Dr. Ivy Margulies, who is a funeral director and a certified death midwife, as known as a bereavement doula on Exploring the Eight House. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Ivy Margulies has founded Angels Born Still, specifically focused reproductive maternal mental health. She specializes in infertility and all types of of pregnancy loss including selective termination, abortion, miscarriage, stillbirth and infant death. Dr. Ivy Margulies has over 20 years experience working in family and child settings. She has been associated with UCLA's Child Study Center, Providence Saint John's Hospital Child Study Center, Children's Hospital Los Angeles and has been the staff psychologist for the Akasha Center for Integrative Medicine in Santa Monica.
