We're finally done with the Pikachu family as we cover Alolan Raichu and wow does anyone else suddenly crave pancakes? Vote for who we should cover for episode 250 here! Follow along with the entries below: Sun: It only evolves to this form in the Alola region. According to researchers, its diet is one of the causes of this change. Moon: It uses psychokinesis to control electricity. It hops aboard its own tail, using psychic power to lift the tail and move about while riding it. Ultra Sun: It focuses psychic energy into its tail and rides it like it's surfing. Another name for this Pokémon is “hodad.” Ultra Moon: When you rub its cheeks, a sweet fragrance comes wafting out. However, you'll also get a light shock! Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee: It loves pancakes prepared with a secret Alolan recipe. Some wonder whether that recipe holds the key to this Pokémon's evolution. Sword: It's believed that the weather, climate, and food of the Alola region all play a part in causing Pikachu to evolve into this form of Raichu. Shield: This Pokémon rides on its tail while it uses its psychic powers to levitate. It attacks with star-shaped thunderbolts. Photodex: This Pokémon is a talented surfer, using its psychic power to ride the waves. It's always practicing on the beach, waiting for that perfect wave to roll in. BTB: Raichu's pancake form. An artistic electric user that definitely seems more chill than normal Raichu. Surfing ability may vary. In our final Alolan episode, we might not be able to go chasing waterfalls, but we do chase just about every dang other thing. We go island-hopping and check in on all our old friends and foes; collecting Totem Stickers and Zygarde Cells; Charizard Gliding and Mantine Surfing to see if Skull Lord can retain his title as King of the Waves. We go hunting for Tapus—one of us in a literal sense—and hunting for Ultra Beasts to see if there's anything good in those Ultra Wormholes (spoiler: there wasn't). Instead, we rank those beasties in the hottest and probably most controversial new segment: "Fur Affinity, Sweetie, or Barf." Then, we defend our titles in the Pokémon League before determining who the real Kahuna of EXP. Share is in this season's final battle between Skull Lord and Parrothead. Notes: Get your carts and cups of coffee ready because the next game up is Detective Pikachu!

The Aether Foundation is in ruins, Team Skull is under new management, Guzma is trapped in the Hell dimension, and little Nebby the Cosmog– er... Cosmoem is in the wind, but that's not going to stop Skull Grunt and Parrothead from having a good time at the quaint little seaside resort of Seafolk Village. We picked up a few new villains and questionably chill teammates this week, as well as a couple of really sick flutes that may or may not influence the destiny of the entire Alolan region. Until then though, Skull Grunt likes his flute jazz like he likes the curves on his giantess Salazzle: smooth.

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's 103rd lesson on Pokémon biology. For class today, we will be discussing Exeggutor, the Coconut Pokémon and evolved form of Exeggcute. This grass/psychic type typically has three heads, which resemble coconuts (hence the name). They think independently from each other and are able to communicate telepathically. However, when one of these heads grows too big, it will fall off and group up with other lone heads to become an Exeggcute. Not just any heads, by the way… they have to be other Exeggcutes. There's more to learn about Exeggutor, including its Alolan variant, so please take detailed notes! Welcome to the World of Pokémon is part of the Poke Casters Network.

Lured Up Podcast 220 Record Date - 5/19/2022 Publish Date - 5/20/2022 There is a ton of news to cover this week as we prepare to say goodbye to the Season of Alola. With the Water Festival giving way to a last chance at Seasonal Spawns before the Alola to Alola event sweeps in, we still have plenty to do before we close the month. First we look back over the last week and how both the Water Festival and the Safari Zone in Seville have gone over great with the Community. This may have been the first week in a while where the general social sentiment was on the positive side of the fence. Two announcements came this week involving Amazon Prime Gaming. First is a collaboration with Prime Student to bring May Community Day activations to select Universities. We think this is a great initiative and an awesome way to execute on some grass roots marketing. Next up is PGO being added to Prime Gaming Loot which will give Prime users some items to redeem every month. In massive news, Niantic Social will be seeing a ton of new features come to Pokémon GO in the near future, some of which will be part of a stand alone Niantic App. We could see “near” in game communication and coordination come with this new app, which has been tested by select Ingress Agents in a closed beta over the last few months. It will be very interesting to see how the community adopts this tool and how it may disrupt existing Discord servers. With Ticket Gifting going live in game we move on to the Alola to Alola event which will close out the month. While we still have questions on how the bonus ticket will work, Trainers will have some agency in how they choose to complete their last Special Research of the Season. Will it cause fomo or will Trainers not care? TIme will tell! Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's eighty-ninth lesson on Pokémon biology. And today's class is a special one because it's our first field trip! We were invited to the Alola region to visit Prof. Palm's conservation facility for Muk: the Sludge Pokémon and evolved form of Grimer. Muk is honestly just a bigger version of Grimer... and that's mostly it! It's very toxic, killing plant life and causing Pokémon and people to become very ill. Unfortunately, Muk have been going extinct for some time, so research specialists like Prof. Palm have opened sludge ponds for Muk to thrive and feed on waste! There's plenty to learn about Muk, including its colorful Alolan variant, so please take detailed notes! Welcome to the World of Pokémon is part of the Poke Casters Network.
Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's eighty-eighth lesson on Pokémon biology. And for today's class, we will be discussing Grimer: the Sludge Pokémon. We're not gonna beat around the bush... this Pokémon is nasty. Believed to come from sludge exposed to X-rays from the moon, Grimer is a poison type Pokémon that makes its home wherever it can find waste. Dirty cities, factories, sewers - the filthier, the better for Grimer! It also has an Alolan variant, which is actually much prettier to look at. Still ugly though. Grimer was apparently brought to Alola to help deal with the excess pollution. See? Even the ugliest of Pokémon can be useful! There's more to learn about Grimer, so please take plenty of notes! Welcome to the World of Pokémon is part of the Poke Casters Network.

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's seventy-sixth lesson on Pokémon biology. It's the start of a New Year of learning! And we'd like to apologize for not having a lesson last week. You can thank Mr. Kurtis for throwing a destructive New Year's party at the school. And speaking of destructive, today we're discussing Golem: the Megaton Pokémon and final evolved form of Geodude. This heavy-hitting Pokémon is capable of rolling down hills at high speeds, crushing anything in its path. It's also known to blow itself up, using the force to launch from mountain to mountain. So for those of you living in the mountains, you might wanna reinforce your homes... or relocate. Wouldn't want a Golem blasting through your roof now would ya? There's more to learn about Golem, including its rock/electric Alolan variant, so be sure to take plenty of notes! Welcome to the World of Pokémon is part of the Poke Casters Network.
Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's seventy-fifth lesson on Pokémon biology. We finish up the year with our lesson on Graveler: the Rock Pokémon and evolved form of Geodude. This big ole ball is a high roller... meaning it loves to roll around on mountains. See what I did there? Rolling is Graveler's main form of transportation, and it can even reach speeds of up to 60 mph! Pieces of its body can fall off, but it doesn't mind. Graveler can restore its rocky body over time. But as tough as it is, Graveler will most likely die if it rolls into a river. I'm serious. It's been reported that Graveler will straight up explode if it rolls into rivers! Listen, this is what the Pokédex says, alright? And there's even more to learn about Graveler, including it's rock/electric Alolan variant, so take plenty of notes! Welcome to the World of Pokémon is part of the Poke Casters Network.
Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's seventy-fourth lesson on Pokémon biology. This lesson is all about Geodude: the Rock Pokémon. And guess what? It's a rock/ground type too! Who would've thought? Geodude is an orb-shaped Pokémon that frequently gets mistaken for a rock. If it gets stepped on, Geodude has been known to start angrily swinging at its aggressor. I mean, they hang out on hiking trails a lot, so they're kinda asking for it. There's also a rock/electric Alolan variant, which is primarily made of magnetic rock! And there's even more to learn about Geodude, so make sure you take plenty of notes, students! Welcome to the World of Pokémon is part of the Poke Casters Network.
Sylveon is out! The last pre-announced Pokémon has hit the stadium and they pack a wallop. Kiyeberries has the ins and outs for the eevee'lution attacker. Mochrie has been taking a second account to Master and both he and Kyle played quite a bit of Gardevoir. Expect the usual new Pokémon rundown that you've come to know from the show along with some build tips and tricks. Of course we also talk about the massive price tag on that Alolan bundle. Emails and more to follow.
Rock hard and butting heads only the way dudes can! Live life to the extreme and chip away at that outer shell and maybe explode if you're feeling up to it. The Daycare Dittos discuss the first Rock Pokemon and their very unique Alolan forms!

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's fifty-third lesson on Pokémon biology. In today's class, we will be discussing Persian: the Classy Cat Pokémon and one of the evolved forms of Meowth. Persian is an incredibly fast, skilled, yet dangerous Pokémon. They are very temperamental and will attack randomly, and they make no exceptions for their own trainer. Think about that. You could spend years raising and training with your Persian, but after all that, it might just spontaneously decide to cut your throat open. So if you want to have a Persian… you might want to consider wearing turtleneck sweaters or neck braces as a precaution. There is a Kantonian and Alolan variant, so be sure to take copious notes on both kinds for the quiz today! Welcome to the World of Pokémon is part of the Poke Casters Network.
Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's fifty-second lesson on Pokémon biology. For the class today, we will be discussing Meowth: the Scratch Cat Pokémon. This little devil is a feline Pokémon with an affinity to round and shiny objects. In fact, Meowth loves round, shiny things so much that it even has a gold coin on its forehead! Now don't be silly, that gold coin was clearly placed there by the Meowth itself... right? They're not born with gold coins attached to their heads, right!? Why can't I have money sprouting from my body!? UGH! Also, Prof. Jacob has a ton of entries to read today, seeing as there's currently four registered Meowth variants in the National Pokédex: Kantonian, Alolan, Galarian, and Gigantamax! So please take detailed notes on the different kinds of Meowth because there's a pop quiz! Welcome to the World of Pokémon is part of the Poke Casters Network.
Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's fifty-first lesson on Pokémon biology. In today's class, we will be discussing Dugtrio: the Mole Pokémon and evolved form of Diglett. But is it really an "evolved form"? Truth is, Dugtrio is essentially just identical Diglett triplets that originally came from one single Diglett body. Weird, right? And that's really the only major difference between Dugtrio and Diglett. However, like its predecessor, Dugtrio also has a ground/steel type Alolan form consisting of three Digletts with absolutely epic hair made of steel. Wait, if the hair is made of steel, then could you brush it? Would you have to use a metal brush? Why haven't any scientists tested this!? And as always, there's a pop quiz, so prepare yourselves! Welcome to the World of Pokémon is part of the Poke Casters Network.
Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's fiftieth lesson on Pokémon biology. Wow! Has it really been 50 already!? For today's class, we will be discussing Diglett: the Mole Pokémon. One of the first things you'll notice upon seeing a Diglett is that it's only a head... or is it? Spoilers: there's more than a head there, but no one has ever actually seen Diglett's full body. Maybe it's shy? Self conscious of its body? Who knows. Either way, we're all about Diglett body positivity in Prof. Jacob's class! There's more to learn about this little creature, including its very own Alolan ground/steel type variant, so be sure to pay attention and take notes. Welcome to the World of Pokémon is part of the Poke Casters Network.
The cat burglar himself steals the show on this episode of Daycare Dittos. Team Rocket's tiniest partner in crime has a ton of lore and interesting facts that warranted its own episode! I mean, you must be a pretty big deal to have an Alolan and Galarian form. You don't want to miss this one!
Team Racket is taking a trip down to Alola and Talking about the Trial Captains and Kahunas from their league!
Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's thirty-eighth lesson on Pokémon biology. Today, we discuss Ninetales: the Fox Pokémon and evolved form of Vulpix. Like its predecessor, Ninetales also has a breathtaking Alolan form. The Kantonian Ninetales is a fire type with thick, luscious golden-white fur and is rumored to be the incarnation of 9 noble saints according to urban legend. Like... what? The Alolan Ninetales is a dual ice/fairy type with a pale blue fur coat and is believed by some to be an incarnation of a deity. Like... huh? Imagine being so beautiful that people think you're an incarnated god or unity of 9 dead wizards/priests. Must be nice. There's more to learn about Ninetales today, so please take detailed notes and be prepared for the pop quiz! Welcome to the World of Pokémon is part of the Poke Casters Network.
Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's thirty-seventh lesson on Pokémon biology. In today's class, we will be discussing Vulpix: the Fox Pokémon. The beautiful Vulpix is unique in that it possess the ability to manipulate fire including the creation of floating flaming wisps. These wisps have even been mistaken for ghosts by humans! So does that make Vulpix a psychic type too? Nope! These little cuties are just gifted with pyrokinesis. Vulpix also has an internal flame in its body that never goes out - so they make for great lap buddies! But this isn't the only type of Vulpix we'll discuss today. There's also an ice type Alolan variant! There's so much to learn about Vulpix, so please take detailed notes for the pop quiz! Welcome to the World of Pokémon is part of the Poke Casters Network.
Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's twenty-eighth lesson on Pokémon biology. Today, we will be discussing Sandshrew's evolved form Sandslash: the... you guessed it... Mouse Pokémon. This incredibly resilient creature is capable of living in a wide variety of environments, including the icy mountains of Alola. So like Sandshrew, Sandslash also has a steel/ice type Alolan variant. And to help us discuss the Alolan Sandslash, we have a special guest professor: Prof. Lucas Palm from the Alola region! Prof. Palm is an expert on Alolan variants and a former colleague of Prof. Jacob, so his knowledge is very crucial for today's lesson. Special thanks to Lucas from Pokescience for joining us on today's episode! Please check out his podcast! Welcome to the World of Pokémon is part of the Poke Casters Network.
Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's twenty-seventh lesson on Pokémon biology. In today's lesson, we will be discussing Sandshrew: the Mouse Pokémon. Wait, seriously? Another "Mouse" Pokémon? What even is a "Mouse"? Anyway, despite also being a "Mouse" Pokémon, Sandshrew is nothing like Pikachu or Raichu. Sandshrew is a ground-dwelling creature that loves spending its time burrowing and heating itself near volcanoes. This Pokémon has an Alolan variant, which is a steel/ice type, and it enjoys thriving in snowy mountains and sliding across the ground with "bullet-like speed". Yes, that fast. And as always, there's a pop quiz today. So pay attention and take detailed notes on both variations of Sandshrew!
With a new year comes a new guest, and we're lucky to have our pal Sallie Myers on the show! Self-described as the world's biggest Grimer fan, she helps Nathanael and Grace find out what exactly makes up Grimer's nasty, nasty existence. Follow us on Twitter! @PokemonPod @nathanaelsass @gr8shrimp Our theme song is "Pokemon" by Neil Cicierega.
Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's twentieth lesson on Pokémon biology. For today's class, we will be discussing the evolved form of Rattata: Raticate, the Mouse Pokémon... again. This chubby little devil loves to chew, so make sure you give your Raticate plenty of logs, sticks, branches, and cinder walls. Yes, you read that correctly... cinder walls. And because Rattata has one, Raticate also has a handsome Alolan form that we will be discussing. So make sure you take detailed notes on both variations of Raticate because there's another quiz at the end of class!
Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's nineteenth lesson on Pokémon biology. Today's class will be all about Rattata: the Mouse Pokémon. This feisty little devil is the first Pokémon in our class to have an Alolan variant! So Prof. Jacob has two Rattatas on display for the students today. Keep in mind, trainers, if you do decide to capture a Rattata, please be sure to give it plenty of food... and suitable mates... because it goes through both rapidly. And don't forget, there's another pop quiz at the end of the lesson!

Hello PUCLonians and welcome to another edition of Anything Goes. In recent weeks, we have had more news drops for Pokemon Sun & Moon (SuMo). With all of the news drops and Pokemon that are being released, I would almost expect the whole game will be spoiled by the time the games are released. There are days I wish I wasn't as plugged into the Pokemon community as I am so I could be surprised by these developments when the game released. Despite that sentiment, I am still excited for how the most recent developments will reveal themselves in the games. In the following article, I will discuss some of the major points of the recent news dumps and then focus in on my thoughts about Ultra Beasts and the “Snap” mechanic of the game.If you haven't seen the new trailers, check out the following links on the Pokemon Channel on Youtube:New PokemonThere are a bunch of new Pokemon to comment on, briefly. So many of these have great real world inspirations! Crabrawler, a pure fighting type, is based off of a Coconut Crab. Now, some people might wonder why this isn't also a water type, being a crab, but it turns out that Coconut Crabs don't swim, so it totally makes sense. Stufful is the epitome of cute! Sandygast and Palossand are really fun concepts and it will be interesting to see what becomes of them.New FormsThe most recent Alolan forms we got were for Rattata and Raticate. Apparently, the people of Alola brought Youngoos to get rid of Rattata on the islands. This drove Rattata to a particular part of the islands and changed their habits, turning them into Dark type Pokemon. I like the mouse-tache on the Rattata but I am disappointed it didn't become more exaggerated with Raticate. Despite this, I do like the chubby cheeks that Raticate has.New Z-MovesIt was shown that some Pokemon have their own exclusive Z-moves. I don't know for sure, but it seems as though there are specific Z-crystals for these, as well. I don't think this becomes a replacement of Mega Evolution (especially with a particular piece of advertisement that has been released in Japan), but it is certainly an interesting inclusion. I am really excited to see how this shakes up competitive play for the next few years!Aether Foundation and Type: NullThe Aether Foundation looks like an interesting counter to Team Skull. They almost seem overly good and clean. I have heard some rumblings that the Aether Foundation might end up being the evil team and that Team Skull will have a change of heart 3/4 through the game.Type: NullType: Null is so interesting! It is the synthetic Pokemon made to rival the strength of legendaries. It's mask is made to hinder its agility. I can only imagine what would happen if the mask was removed. Also, notice how the mask resembles a certain other Pokemon… If you are at all interested in a super theory where “it all comes together” I highly suggest you check out Lockstin's channel. He is a video game/Poketuber with a fascinating theory about how SuMo has elements that draw from practically every other Pokemon game and how it is all related to Alchemy. His theory (playlist linked here) has 3 main videos (one of which has yet to be released as of the writing of this article) and a few small supplementary videos to the theory. The main videos definitely get a little long but they are worth the watch.Ultra BeastsWhat to make of this wonderful beast!? Is it a Pokemon? If it is, why make the distinction of an Ultra Beast? Is it legendary? Can you catch it? (I, like TCGcaster and fellow writer, Lord Jushiro, hope that you can. Gotta Catch ‘Em All!!!) There was a trailer where the protagonist and a few others watched this Pokemon emerge from a portal. And the fact that it is listed as UB-01 makes it seem as though there are more like this to come! I feel like there may be at least three other of these beast. This one seems very elegant and floaty. I feel like there may be others that are sharper or more solid in design. It also seems as though this is something different. It somehow has a grander feel than that of a typical mythical or legendary Pokemon. It's hard to describe, but I am very interested in seeing what this has to bring to the games.“Snap” is back… kindaIt was also revealed in the most recent trailer that there would be some aspect that is akin to the N64 game, Pokemon Snap. This was a fun, short game that allowed you to take pictures of Pokemon on a particular island. This was a beloved favorite with many fans of the series and sadly never got a sequel. There seemed to many opportunities to execute this concept but it never came to fruition, until now. It looks like there are some specific picture taking spots within the game where you can take pictures of local Pokemon. I hope that the Pokemon that are found at these spots are determined by the day/night cycle and that the areas may even be vacant, at times. This definitely seems like “Snap Lite” since you aren't moving and it doesn't seem as though you can effect the Pokemon at all like in the original “Snap” game, but the specifics are yet to be seen. The one thing that really got my sold on the idea is this:It's hard to see, but you know what it is. That is a wild Dragonite! You can take a picture of (and possibly catch) a wild Dragonite in this game! If the pictures you get to take are as cool as this is, I will play this part of the game to its fullest extent. What are your favorite parts of the new videos/trailers? Let me know in the comments below. If you haven't done so already, go read “The Fluff” by the Fluffiest Whimsicott where she goes into more depth about her initial thoughts on the Aether Foundation and Type: Null. That article can be found here. And if you want the full lowdown about all of the new information, check out Viger's recent article of the news.Until next time…-Prof. Snag Hosted on Acast.
