Stephen LeDrew speaks with Andrew Perez, Liberal strategist and political insider, about what Canadians can expect from a Liberal majority government under Mark Carney. After months of unfulfilled promises on pipelines, economic growth, and affordability, Carney now has the political power to act — and the expectations couldn't be higher.Perez argues that the majority gives the Prime Minister a 2–3 year runway to deliver real results, particularly on the cost of living crisis, inflation, and economic opportunity for younger Canadians. But that window comes with risk.If the government fails to bring down costs or improve economic conditions, Canadians may quickly lose confidence — especially after years of failure and frustration under the Trudeau era.The conversation also touches on whether Carney will reshape his cabinet, bring in new leadership, and avoid the overconfidence that has plagued past Liberal majorities. The question now is simple: can Carney deliver — or will Canadians be disappointed again?Three Minutes. The Hassan Piker litmus test being pushed by Third Way president Jonathan Cowan includes a letter sent directly to Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, pressuring him to cut ties with Piker before planned college campus rallies. Hawk calls out this move as a political threat from an unelected think tank trying to dictate who Democratic candidates are allowed to campaign with. The Bulwark columnist Lauren Egan and journalist Andrew Perez of Zeteo both weighed in on the controversy, as did Bulwark contributor Tim Miller, whose livestream defense of common sense over factional infighting drew backlash from AIPAC-aligned media. Hawk also draws direct parallels to the treatment of Zohran Mamdani after his New York City Democratic primary win, and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's widely condemned response to it. Third Way openly declared it will be the chief opponent of the left in the 2028 Democratic presidential primary, targeting Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, and abolishing ICE. Hawk argues that an organization spending tens of millions against its own party base, rather than against Republicans, reveals exactly who controls the Democratic Party and why so many progressive voters feel politically homeless. A collapse of their Toronto—St. Paul fortress is just the beginning. All that remains to be seen is how extensive the Liberals' inevitable ruin will be once Justin Trudeau's strange, destructive experiment is over. As Liberal activist and strategist Andrew Perez tells Brian, the prime minister has made the once-mighty, centrist “natural governing” party into something unrecognizable — and likely unelectable — by driving out moderates and effectively merging with the NDP. While pundits and politicos gossip about when or whether Trudeau will quit, Perez says Liberals face a more existential crisis, years in the making. The party is lost.
