POPULARITY
Just one month to go before Pride month kicks off in June, but before that, we need to discuss the May '25 edition of UP! I wanted a balance of house/pop tracks to open the set, then moving into some big room bangers to close it out. The set kicks of with the smooth StoneBridge mix of "Dance In The Dark" and rolls into Ed Sheeran's latest "Azizam". I used a track by Hollway on my last episode which I really liked and then found a bunch more of his on Beatport. I really like his music and the fabulous Andy Allder has mixed a number of his tracks including "I Need To Know". Dario Xavier features three remixes here for Becky Hill (a different style for him), Benson Boone and Jordan Firstman. Mark from Dirty Disco gives his signature uplifting energy to Gaga's "Abracadabra" as do Toy Armada and Jace M on Jules Liesl's "Cherry". The set closes out with big room mixes for Lola Young and Katy Perry respectively. The May edition should definitely keep you UP! and moving until Pride rolls around. This month's edition of UP! is short but punchy, jam packed with uplifting pop and house anthems. Kicking off the set is the beautiful 7th Heaven mix of "I'll Take A Chance" by Hollway. Bright Light Bright Light returns with his new track "Revived". In fact the first four songs are all by male artists.. Brady Prince delivers an awesome remix of "Can't Get Enough" by Soulsearcher and Kylie Minogue teams with YouNotUs on "Someone For Me". Sabrina Carpenter teams up with Dolly Parton in a duet I didn't know I needed on "Please Please Please". Dirty Disco does the remix honours for both Kylie and Sabrina. David Guetta and Sia get the AfroJack remix treatment on "Beautiful People" and Russ Rich and Andy Allder close the set out with a stunning mix of Chappell Roan's "California". Welcome to 2025. This January edition is a little slow getting into production. I've been on annual leave in January and have been doing a bit of traveling in Australia and before I knew it, half of the month had disappeared. I'm also in the process of gearing UP! for a big event birthday for me coming UP! in March this year (more on that later). This episode of UP! is packed full of house and club goodies for your listening pleasure. Included are several mixes fro Division 4 and Dirty Disco and as always I am grateful for everything that Robert (Division 4) and Mark (Dirty Disco) do. You can now purchase Robert's remixes directly from his new website - Division 4 Music. Check it out and grab yourself some amazing remixes. There are also remixes from Dave Audé, Claptone, Toy Armada, Henriq Moraes, Roberto Ferrari, Tommer Mizrahi, Toy Armada and Russ Rich & Andy Allder. The January '25 edition of UP! is primed and ready to dance you into the New Year. EnjoyAnthony1/ "MOVIN' TOO FAST" (Jack Wins Remix) - SHERMANOLOGY2/ "CALM DOWN" (Division 4 Remix) - REMA ft. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to summer Down Under :) In celebration of it's approach, I've put together a delicious set of summer inspired house tracks and big room bangin' anthems. The set kicks off with three house infused tracks from Melanie Masson, 808 Beach and Sigala respectively. Sagi Kariv delivers a decidedly different sound for him on his track "Feel It" and the always amazing Division 4 puts his unique spin on Belly Dancer". Dirty (the man can do no wrong) Disco pumps out three awesome mixes for Gracie Abrams (daughter of director JJ Abrams) and Charli XCX as well as Kylie Minogue's new track "Lights Camera Action". So excited I've got tickets to see her in Sydney in March next year. Wayne G. & Andy Allder turn Paul Hetherington's "Thrill Of The Chase" into a dance floor anthem. From here we move into big room/circuit territory with thumping club mixes of "Espresso" by Sabrina Carpenter, and "Disease" by Lady Gaga to close out the set. I found the horrific results of the USA election to be very off putting so I needed to focus on good vibes with this set. Taylor Swift has proven herself to be one of the most enduring pop stars of this millennium. Her Eras World Tour broke all sales and attendance records and her global popularity keeps escalating. Her music speaks to a generation of fans and she somehow still manages to come across as personable and relatable. I have used so much of her music in my sets and have produced three full Essential Taylor Swift episodes. This time I wanted to focus on two remix artists who have produced some of the most beautiful and uplifting remixes of her songs. They are Russ Rich and Andy Allder. Russ is a DJ/Producer based in San Francisco who has played at many clubs and events in and around SF. Russ has teamed up with various other producers such as Leo Frappier and produced countless amazing club tracks. Andy is a London based producer who has teamed up with Wayne G and Mark De Lange (Dirty Disco) among other producers and consistently turns out a variety of amazing club mixes. Together, these two have taken Taylor Swift's music and spun it into dance floor gold. Here is the ultimate anthology of their phenomenal work. EnjoyAnthony1/ "CARDIGAN" (Russ Rich & Andy Allder Club Mix)2/ "EVERMORE" (Russ Rich & Andy Allder Evermore Dancefloor Club Mix) 3/ "THE ARCHER" (Russ Rich & Andy Allder Combat Club Remix) 4/ "FORTNIGHT" (Russ Rich & Andy Allder Club Mix) ft. The August '24 edition of UP! hits hard from start to finish. Kicking off the set is the awesome Tony Moran remix of "Keep You Waiting" by Max Rae. Tony Moran features another excellent remix later in the set for KRU & Cha Cha Malone. We lost an iconic diva recently with the passing of Evelyn Thomas. She was huge in the club scene particularly in the 80's and 90's with hits like High Energy and Reflections. I've included her later hit "Stick To The Plan" with a brilliant Wayne G & Porl Young remix. The always amazing Dirty Disco features two killer mixes for Chappell Roan and Kesha respectively. Henriq Moraes is turning out some excellent circuit remixes and there are three of his featured here. Becky Hill's "Outside Of love" is one of my favourite songs this year. Toy Armada & Jace M deliver a stellar remix of "Shy Boy" by Carly Rae Jepsen and Kylie Minogue teams up with The Blessed Madonna on "Edge Of Saturday Night". Russ Rich and Andy Allder produce yet another beautiful remix for Taylor Swift's latest, "I Can Do It With A Broken Heart" to close out this month's edition of UP! The July '24 edition of UP! kicks off with some chunky house tracks then moves into main room and big room club sounds. Starting off is a fantastic Gospel house track from Revival Collective. Division 4 has covered the classic Sheryl Crow song "Soak Up The Sun" with an excellent remix from Daddies Home! It's great to hear some new music from Suzanne Palmer, a vocalist famous particularly in the 90's and 2000's. Kylie Minogue has teamed up with Orville Peck and Diplo on a thumping new track "Midnight Run". Dirty Disco does the remix honors here along with two other tracks from Vanessa Williams and Becky Hill respectively. Russ Rich & Andy Allder turn in a beautiful remix of Taylor Swift's latest "My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys". Just squeaking in before the end of the month comes the first edition of UP! for 2024. This set has a strong house feel to it kicking off with the excellent collaboration between Nick Jay, Jet Boot Jack & Zoe Badwi "Listen To Love". Mark Knight & James Hurr pay tribute to Kathy Brown's classic "Turn Me Out" and Robbie Williams & Sophie Ellis-Bextor share vocals on "Immortal".I love pretty much everything that Trouser Enthusiasts do and their mix of Dannii Minogue's "We Could Be The One" is no exception. The jewel in this set for me is Russ Rich & Andy Allder's remix of "Say Don't Go" by Taylor Swift. So beautiful and melodic, thank you for sending me this one Russ. Division 4 features two remixes here and his take on Mariah's "Touch My Body" is fantastic. Joe Stone & Brad Pearce sample Mariah's "Fantasy" in "Everynight". Dirty Disco turns in a killer mix of Kylie Minogue's "Vegas High" before the set heads into Big Room territory with two remixes to close out the set from Henriq Moraes. Welcome to the New Year. This edition of Essential Taylor Swift took months to put together and is the culmination of her musical career up until the time of publishing. Unlike the previous 2 editions which were loosely chronological in track listing, this edition covers the whole span of her career but in no particular order. Admittedly there are fewer songs from her early years but there a very few remixes of her earlier music that I could find. Her Era's World Tour is in full swing and is on track to become the highest grossing tour by any artist in the world. I didn't even try to get tickets for her Australian tour dates. I thought I'd save myself that disappointment and be satisfied seeing the movie :) She has released some high quality music since my last edition in 2021 so naturally, I was keen to get the club remixes which I knew would be awesome overall. This Era's edition features remixes from Ray Isaac, Ryan Skyy, Optical Disco, Barry Harris, CLX, Dark Intensity, Joe Gauthreaux, Brett Oosterhaus, Jasmin, Dario Xavier and Toy Armada & Jace M. I would like to give special thanks to Russ Rich & Andy Allder, Division 4 and Mark De Lang of Dirty Disco. I badgered them all for new remixes that they might have been hiding and being the extremely generous people they are, they provided me with some advance and private remixes. I can't thank them enough as their contributions helped make this edition the massive compilation that it is. There are 37 tracks here covering a decade of Taylor's music in 3.5hrs. This is my love letter to Taylor Swift and also my Xmas gift to all of the Swifties around the world. EnjoyAnthony1/ "DELICATE" (Dark Intensity Remix)2/ "OUT OF THE WOODS" (Division 4 Remix)3/ "ME!" The October '23 edition of UP! wastes no time in getting right into it with some crunchy house tunes and some vocal anthems. Leading the way is a thumping new house track from Dave Matthias "Got To Have" which is followed UP! by Australian Producer Nick Jay's collaboration with Matthew Clanton "Do It Anyway". I've always admired UK producer/DJ Apollo's work and here he delivers his own track "Baby Don't Go". Dave Aude` remixes two tracks here for LUX and LeAnn Rimes respectively. Mark from Dirty Disco mustn't be getting much sleep these days as he is turning out stellar remix after stellar remix. I feature five of his latest on here from artists such as Kylie Minogue, Troye Sivan, Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus and Rita Ora. Rozalla's new track "Lovefool" gets the house treatment from Jet Bet Jack and Russ Rich & Andy Allder turn out another beautiful and UPlifting remix on Taylor Swift's "Timeless". Here finally (just like Spring) comes the September '23 edition of UP! This edition is filled with floor fillers ranging from commercial house tracks right through to big room bangin' anthems. The set kicks off with Beverley Knight's new song "Last One On My Mind" and rolls into Tom Grennan's "Remind Me". This guy has an amazing voice if you're not familiar with him. Russ Rich & Andy Allder's original track "Be Your Strength" is an uplifting anthem and demonstrates their ability to hit a home run for the dance floor. Dirty Disco features four remixes here for Selena Gomez, LP, Jake Shears and Rita Ora. The man can do no wrong in my opinion. Chimira covers Carly Simon's classic "You're So Vain" mixed by 7th Heaven who also feature a remix for Fidget Spinners. Toy Armada & Jace M deliver two killer mixes for Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift respectively and a funky house mix of Kylie's new song "Tension" comes from Bearly Disco. I was sad to hear of the passing of Sinead O'Connor last month so I put her classic "Nothing Compares 2 U" on here, beautifully mixed by Dario Xavier. My good friend Deb celebrated her birthday on the 15th of this month and sticking with tradition, the September edition of UP! is dedicated to her. You're old now :) EnjoyAnthony1/ "LAST THING ON MY MIND" (Moto Blanco Club Mix) - BEVERLEY KNIGHT2/ "REMIND ME" (Ben Rainey Remix) - TOM GRENNAN3/ "BE YOUR STRENGTH" (Original Club Mix) - RUSS RICH & ANDY ALLDER4/ "INDESTRUCTIBLE" (Cutmore Remix) - SHAB5/ "YOU'RE SO VAIN" (7th Heaven Club Mix) - CHIMIRA6/ "SINGLE SOON" (Dirty Disco Pillowbiters Remix) - SELENA GOMEZ7/ "GOLDEN" (Dirty Disco Pure Love House Remix) - LP8/ "ECUADOR" (MY HEART WENT BOOM) (7th Heaven Club Mix) - FIDGET SPINNERS9/ "TENSION" (Bearly Disco Club Mix) - KYLIE MINOGUE10/ "100% PURE LOVE" (JNR Club Mix) - HAZELL DEAN11/ "THIS IS FIRE" (Original Club Mix) - JET BOOT JACK12/ "VOICES" (Dirty Disco Mainroom Remix) - JAKE SHEARS13/ "USED TO BE YOUNG" (Toy Armada & Jace M Remix) - MILEY CYRUS14/ "NOTHING COMPARES 2 U" (Dario Xavier Remix) - SINEAD O'CONNER15/ "HAUNTED" (Toy Armada & Jace M Remix) - TAYLOR SWIFT16/ "TATTOO" (VMC & Yerko Molina Remix) - LOREEN17/ "YOU AND I" (Dirty Disco Mainroom Remix) - RITA ORA
Welcome to the April 2023 edition of UP! The front end of this set is funky, commercial house from big name artists and producers. As it progresses, it moves into the big room club sound with excellent remixes throughout. The set kicks of with the Alok & James Arthur collaboration "Work With My Love" and moves into another house collaboration between popular producers Purple Disco Machine & Kungs on their original track "Substitution". There are quite a few male vocalists on this set, six to be exact. I didn't do a Men edition for Mardi Gras so I thought I would place a few more men on this set. Tom Grennan, Lewis Capaldi and Ed Sheeran all make an appearance here as do Years & Years. Continuing the producer/vocalist collaborations are Ofenbach & Ella Henderson, Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding, Claptone & Alison Goldfrapp and Sigala & Kylie Minogue to name a few. Hernan Maldonado delivers an outstanding mix of Tina Cousins' "Pray" covered here by Vanessa Klein and Dirty Disco's remix of "River" by Miley Cyrus is stellar as usual. Roberto Ferrari delivers to bangin' remixes for P!nk and Gryffin respectively. The back end of the set has Rihanna's smash hit "Lift Me Up" and Beyonce's "Cuff It" before closing out with another beautiful remix by Russ Rich & Andy Allder, this time on Taylor Swift's "Midnight Rain". Something for everyone on this chunky edition of UP! for April '23. EnjoyAnthony1/ "WORK WITH MY LOVE" (Mark Knight Club Mix) - ALOK ft. Continuing on with the 'Best Of' series celebrating the remix artists who bring it to the dance floor, I present to you the Best Of Dirty Disco. This is my most ambitious podcast to date (or at the very least, my longest). Mark De Lang is the driving force behind Dirty Disco and he is based in Houston, Texas. I've had several conversations with Mark and he is an extremely nice man and generous to a fault with his remixes. He has given me early access to some of his exclusive mixes and is always happy to share with me and the club community in general. I cannot thank him enough for his incredible generosity towards me so I wanted to put together an amazing selection of his remixes displaying the various styles that he has produced over the years. As with my previous editions for Wayne G. and Division 4, it is impossible to encompass all of Mark's great remixes in one volume so I was strict with myself and came up with this small selection. Mark has also collaborated with other well known music producers such as Matt Consola from Swishcraft and Andy Allder. When I see an artists remix come out with the Dirty Disco stamp on it, I immediately know it is going to be a quality club floor filler. Dirty Disco has mixed tracks for Whitney Houston, Beyonce`, Pink, Taylor Swift, Kylie Minogue, Elton John, Tina Turner, Madonna and the list goes on. Dirty Disco will be in Sydney for World Pride 2023 and Sydney Mardi Gras and I am very much looking forward to meeting him in person. In the mean time, feast your ears on all things Dirty Disco in this extended mix. It's been a minute since I've put out a new proper podcast… that's mostly because I've been on the road a lot this summer. But as I was prepping music to head out to Burning Man this week, I was so inspired by everything that I was listening to that I felt compelled to share a little preview of what I'll be playing this year out on the playa. This plays more like a live set than a “podcast” (however one may define that word!), but here are two-and-a-half hours of house music that's really moving me this summer. This podcast also contains a preview of Stephen Jusko and I's Nu Disco VIP Remix of our summer anthem, “Believe It Or Not” (feat. Brian Kent)... the second remix package, that includes this fresh take from us, along with new remixes from Wayne G and Andy Allder, GSP, and The Perry Twins - comes out August 30th on Swishcraft Records. Enjoy! If you enjoy the music, feel free to tip!Venmo: @DJBlacklow Find me online:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/djblacklowInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/djblacklow/Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/djblacklowThe Tracklist:1) I Believe (Michael Gray & Mark Knight Remix) - Robin S2) Bless You (Original Mix) - Lizzie Curious3) Tell You What It Is (Extended Mix) - Eats Everything, Shermanology4) Sunshine (Extended Mix) - Wh05) I Want You (Wh0's Extended Festival Remix) - Skytech, Neitan, DJ Kuba6) Do Your Thing (David Penn Remix) - Basement Jaxx7) Lose My Mind (Original Mix) - Shermanology8) Life Is A Song (Philly mix) - David Morales Feat Michelle Perera9) Let Your Body Fly (Extended Mix) - Disco Gurls10) Play The Game (Extended Mix) - Lisa Unique, Soraya Vivian, Rick Live11) Push All Night (Original Mix) - GhostMasters12) All Night (Extended) - Art Of Tones13) Music Sounds Better With You (Darren After 2022 Edit) - Stardust14) Deep Inside of Me vs. Deep Inside (DJ Blacklow Edit) - Bob Sinclar, A-Trak vs. Hardrive15) Feels Good (Extended Mix) - GW Harrison16) Come Back (Robbie Rivera Remix) - Discloplex17) Break My Soul (Honey Dijon Remix) - Beyoncé18) Lifting Me Up (Extended Mix) - Andrey Exx, D'Vision19) Show Me Your Love (Extended Mix) - Wh0, Zirretta20) I Miss You (Full Intention Remix) - Full Intention21) Sete (Original Mix) - BLOND_ISH, Amadou & Mariam, Francis Mercier22) Something To Behold (Extended Mix) - Coreyography23) Work My Body (Extended Mix) - Superlover24) The Groovy Thing (Extended Mix) - GhostMasters25) Push The Feeling feat. The second remixer/producer in this limited 'Best Of' series is Wayne G. I can't remember exactly when I first met Wayne. I have a feeling it was back in the late 90's at either a Mardi Gras party or when he was guest DJ'ing at ARQ or The Midnight Shift in Sydney. I do remember hearing him play for the first time and making my way to the DJ booth to introduce myself (naturally). Like most of the big name international DJ/producers I have met, Wayne was very down to earth and friendly. As was the case with Division 4, it is impossible to do a best of Wayne's remixes in one episode. His style of producing has evolved so much over the years. From his early days at mega clubs like Heaven in London playing happy and hard house to his Atlantis anthems for the leisure cruise ship in the Mediterranean to his Throwback anthem/funky house sound at San Diego's Zoo Party and White Party Palm Springs and his many memorable appearances at Mardi Gras and Harbour Party here in Sydney. Wayne has mixed for some of the biggest names in the music industry and has had long established collaborations with other producers such as Andy Allder, Porl Young, Leo Frapper (LFB), Jon M. and Club Junkies. This set features some of his uplifting, house and club anthems but is only a fraction of his amazing body of work. Check him out on Soundcloud & Facebook etc and show him some love. In the meantime here is a selection of some of his best remixes. EnjoyAnthony1/ "G.U.Y" - LADY GAGA2/ "RESPECT" - WAYNE G. ft. I was a little surprised that it's been 6 years since I made the first Essential Taylor Swift back in 2015. She has released so many great songs since then with some superb remixes to go along with them. With this second edition of Taylor Swift I wanted to use completely different tracks than I did on volume 1. The only repeat track here is "Blank Space" because the Luis Vazquez remix is awesome. I do want to give special thanks to Mark from Dirty Disco as well as Russ Rich & Andy Allder who very generously provided me with some advance remixes they had completed before they were released. They feature quite heavily in this set because they are all brilliant. As always, my good friend Rob (aka Division 4) also provided me with his exclusive mix of "You Are In Love" which opens the set. Other stand out remixes come from Guy Scheiman, Sagi Kariv, Leo Frappier and Joel Dickinson. I do like the way Taylor's music keeps evolving as she matures and this 2nd edition of Essential Taylor Swift shows that evolution. Enjoy Anthony 1/ "YOU ARE IN LOVE" (Division 4 Remix) 2/ "CARDIGAN" (Russ Rich & Andy Allder Club Mix) 3/ "EVERMORE" (Russ Rich & Andy Allder Evermore Dancefloor Club Mix) 4/ "YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN" (Dirty Disco Mainroom Remix) 5/ "THE ARCHER" (Russ Rich & Andy Allder Combat Club Remix) 6/ "DON'T BLAME ME" (Russ Rich & Leo Frappier Bangin' Afterhours Club Mix) 7/ "WONDERLAND" (Sagi Kariv Remix) 8/ "THE MAN" (Guy Scheiman Remix) 9/ "BLANK SPACE" (Luis Vazquez Unreleased Club Mix) 10/ "ME!" The February 2021 edition of UP! is filled with smooth vocal and progressive house tracks. The set kicks off with a great male vocal track "Let Me Tell You Something" by Yvvan Back, followed by Madison Ryan's "Avant Garden". Dirty Disco present 2 remixes here for Donna DeLory and Audrey Callahan respectively. 7th Heaven also show up with 2 great remixes for Talay Riley and Jocelyn Brown. I have been searching everywhere for Sagi Kariv's remix of "Physical" by Dua Lipa and finally found it so, here it is along with his incredible mix of The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights". I can't tell you how much I am really enjoying the quality mixes that Russ Rich & Andy Allder are producing. Russ very generously provided me with their remixes of Kelly Clarkson's "I Dare You" and Taylor Swift's "This Is Me Trying", both of which are outstanding. Please visit their SoundCloud page and show them some love. Add in remixes from Matt Pop and Wayne G. & LFB and February 21's edition of UP! delivers house anthems from start to finish. Enjoy Anthony 1/ "LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING" (Extended Remix) - PANSIL ft. Happy New Year to everyone. I know we're half way through January but I was a little slow off the mark this year. The January 2021 edition of UP! blends a mix of new tracks with some classics thrown in for good measure. The set kicks off with Kylie's new track "Real Groove" mixed by the very talented DJ Argonaut from Melbourne. Melanie C and Tones And I follow up with their current hits and it's great to see Cosmic Dawn back with a signature mix of "Save Your Tears" by The Weeknd. As the set moves into a more progressive house sound, Russ Rich & Andy Allder deliver a standout mix of Taylor Swift's new track "Evermore" as does Wayne G. on "Without You Tonight" by Anne Steele. The set eases into a big room sound with remixes from Dirty Disco & Dario Xavier and then plants its feet firmly in big room territory with remixes from Nick Stracener, Enrico Meloni and Toy Armada & DJ GRIND on new tracks from Miley Cyrus, Sagi Kariv and Sia. Welcome to 2021 everyone. Lets' hope things improve from here on. You may ask yourself what the difference is between the two so I'm here to set you straight (no pun intended). Tea Dance used to begin as a brunch party with mimosas and later evolved into a late afternoon Sunday party that went on into the early evening so gay men could get their disco on and still be in bed early enough for work the next morning. Over the years, the tradition had pretty much faded but is still in place in various metropolitan areas around the country. In fact, you'll see Barry Harris frequently playing at many of these events and Houston's Dirty Disco (who own their own club) has also maintained the tradition. The past few years have brought out more vocal disco house tracks typically associated with these weekly events as opposed to the big room tribal house you normally expect. Because music has evolved, you can still throw in some modern future house tracks that have a younger gay appeal and still keep your audience. A good example from this set is the AWESOME Matt Consola, Aaron Altemose and Brenda Reed collaboration on "Every Moment." Every thing about this track screams GAY. For this set I closed it out with the house-friendly remix by Larry Peace but the Russ Rich and Andy Allder club mix is equally fantastic as a future house track that maintains all the uplifting elements that make this song so fabulous. Peyton's fantastic "Things Can Only Get Better" is another fine example of this balance as well though I went with the Eric Kupper remix since that's who jumpstarted Peyton's career. It had been my intention since last year to resurrect this series but I hadn't gotten around to it until now. Since I hadn't been doing my duty of setting aside the tracks that showed up in DJ services, I had to go by memory and pulled some tracks from the past two years that I may have mixed in with my Circuit & Anthems series because at the time — I had no place to put them and ended up leaving a lot a great songs on the cutting room floor. In this first edition, you will find current songs, updated 70's, 80's, and 90's classics, new songs that sample familiar beats from previous eras and lots and lots of DIVAS. At the moment, the hot song on everyone's radar "Finally" by Shapeshifters and Billy Porter is the only crossover track that will show up on the forthcoming Disco House set to be released in a couple of weeks. Otherwise, the Tea Dance Edition will focus on more gay-friendly vocal house with elements of disco. I had raved about the output from Nacho Chapado and Ivan ...

[youtube v="jUBS6YnPraY"] I had raved about the output from Nacho Chapado and Ivan Gomez in my last post and there's another area these guys have been targeting with their Disco Gurls moniker, which are club-friendly samples of classic tracks or reimaginations from whole cloth for today's dancefloors. They've taken a very similar track that Almighty has done with their own hi energy remixes and are hitting it out of the ballpark. Only because Party Favorz understands our audience that I'm confident this set is gonna be massively popular and you can look forward to future releases under this sub-genre. While it can appeal to anyone who enjoys Disco House, it's targeted predominantly at gay men so I'll keep it listed under the Circuit & Anthems genre possibly creating a subgenre for y'all so everything is collected in one easy to locate spot. In the interim, Party Favorz isn't finished delivering the December party sets. In fact, there are a ton of goodies and stocking stuffers Santa has lined up for the remaining 20 days of Christmas. Until the next time...ENJOY! Anyone interested in a brief history of the Tea Dance — "The Very Gay and Interesting History of the Almost Lost Tradition of the Sunday Tea Dance" is an excellent read. Between 2008 and 2009, Party Favorz created a series called the "T-Dance Edition," which in hindsight hues more towards what is known today as Disco House. The second edition of Essential Dua Lipa lends itself towards a big room sound with a host of remixes from circuit DJ's from around the world. The set is book ended by Dua's two most recent charting singles at the time of this production. Kicking off the set is an awesome Russ Rich & Andy Allder remix of "Hallucinate". The northern summer is drawing to a close and so is the southern winter (thankfully). The August '20 edition of UP! is the perfect segue to the change in seasons with uplifting vocal house and club anthems from start to finish. The set kicks off with 2 powerhouse male vocal performances from Liam Payne on "Midnight" and John Newman on "High On You". Becky Hill delivers again on her new track "Heaven On My Mind" and Kylie Minogue's new track "Say Something" is given a killer remix by Dirty Disco. Melbourne's DJ Argonaut does a stand out job on Dua Lipa's "Hallucinate" as does Division 4 on "Perfect" by Katherine Ellis. Russ Rich & Andy Allder have proven to be a formidable team up and their mix of "Be Kind" by Halsey is stellar. From here on, the set moves into big room territory with tracks from Tommer Mizrahi and Lady Gaga. We are almost half way through the year and have to suffer yet another month of stay at home indoor disco dancing. Fortunately, you now have UP! May 2020 to rescue you. There are also some great online streaming events to lift your spirits such as DJ Dan Murphy's 'Camp' live stream. This month's edition of UP! packs a commercial house punch in the front end of the set. Kicking it off is the excellent Tempo Elektrik remix of Harry Styles "Adore You". A classic from the past "Happiness" by Wand & Jeanie Tracy, gets a modern remake from Vibey. The always reliable Division 4 weaves his magic on Dojo Cat's "Say So" and Little Mix's "Break Up Song" also gets a great remix from James Bowers. The excellent Tommer Mizrahi sends the set into Big Room anthem territory with his mix of Sam Smith's "To Die For" and Russ Rich & Andy Allder turn in an awesome mix of "You Should Be Sad" by Halsey. I never thought I'd see the day when I put a song by Lindsay Lohan in my podcast but apparently that day is here, with a great remix of "Back To Me" by Cavalier. Anne-Marie's "2002" gets the big room treatment from Joe Gauthreaux & Leanh. Sam Smith makes a second appearance with Demi Lovato on "I'm Ready" and Dua Lipa and Alex Clare close out the set. The May 2020 edition of UP! has you covered so stay safe and enjoy. We are now at the most important part of this morning's post, which is the long overdue induction into the Diva Hall of Fame of the one and only Miss Inaya Day. I was browsing around the Billboard club charts a month or so ago and stumbled across a section I had NEVER seen before called GREATEST OF ALL TIME TOP DANCE CLUB ARTISTS. I'll be damned if every DIVA in the Diva Series isn't listed there. I mean, I hit them ALL + all the fan-boy favorites (US Only) who only had a couple of hits (Jennifer Holliday, Jewel and Stevie Nicks come to mind). However, there was one lady sitting in at #12 who was always on my list but I just hadn't gotten around to. She is the one and only, incomparable Miss Inaya Day. Holy bat crap! How did I not get to this sooner? Heck, she even bests Miss Barbara Tucker by 51 charts points and y'all know I love me some BT. Since I've been driving around all over god's green acres, I've had plenty of time to play this set over and over and OVER! Heck, if it were a cassette, I'd have to go out and purchase a new one by now. This set will BLOW your mind because it's that good. Inaya Day has also worked with some of the biggest names in the industry and isn't just circuit; she's House Music, she's Gospel, she's R&B and she is Soul. However, this set is geared towards the circuit boys and for good reason. It's all about our love and appreciation for you, your beauty and your talent. Our boy Peter Rauhofer is also represented here not once but twice. Throw in her sparring partner Miss China Ro, Mike Cruz and the good ole boys from Swishcraft and you got yourself a recipe for one hell of party. If we can get the boys at Swishcraft to promote this set; her bookings will go through the roof. She can call it I Take My Problems to the Dancefloor Tour (bill it as a greatest hits tour) and hopefully work out something amicable with Nervous Records. The t-shirts alone would be HOT property. So without further ado, Party Favorz is proud to finally pay respect to the indisputable queen of everything by inducting Miss Day into the Diva Hall of Fame. Ladies and Gentlemen, please give a standing ovation for the one and only, Miss Inaya Day.
