He claims to be the Hack of many trades but I beg to differ my good sir, he is definitely the Jack of many trades, master of many. How he finds the time nobody knows. Askmi plays us some bass guitar at the end of this episode and it is so worth it just skip right to about (00:45:00) or so to hear it. Follow our Facebook page Six DeGrees of a Belly Dancer and I will be blowin' your feed up with some of best gosh darn links SLC can offer in this unique genre of goth, folk and vaudeville mix. Crazy because we all know Askmi Leitr as our favorite local Middle-Eastern style percussionist and he is our beloved Utah belly dancer drummer and sound guy!

I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to summer Down Under :) In celebration of it's approach, I've put together a delicious set of summer inspired house tracks and big room bangin' anthems. The set kicks off with three house infused tracks from Melanie Masson, 808 Beach and Sigala respectively. Sagi Kariv delivers a decidedly different sound for him on his track "Feel It" and the always amazing Division 4 puts his unique spin on Belly Dancer". Dirty (the man can do no wrong) Disco pumps out three awesome mixes for Gracie Abrams (daughter of director JJ Abrams) and Charli XCX as well as Kylie Minogue's new track "Lights Camera Action". So excited I've got tickets to see her in Sydney in March next year. Wayne G. & Andy Allder turn Paul Hetherington's "Thrill Of The Chase" into a dance floor anthem. From here we move into big room/circuit territory with thumping club mixes of "Espresso" by Sabrina Carpenter, and "Disease" by Lady Gaga to close out the set. I found the horrific results of the USA election to be very off putting so I needed to focus on good vibes with this set. Anjelica Scunnura is our amazingly brilliant guest this week! World Renown Dancer – Actress - Host of the popular YouTube show “Angelica's Daily Surprise” and … AND the co-Champion of the 2024 Boston Comedy Festival! Zooming in to chat with us from arguably one of the top 10 cities in the world over all and top 5 (maybe top 3) for comedy, Toronto! Incorporating a life time of professional dancing (Belly, Irish Step, Ballroom … not sure about Breakin') into her comedy – really makes her stand out! Super fun chat in which Anjelica does argue the fact that YES, the driving 6 hours to gigs DOES count as part of your 10,000 hours IF … your working material and coming up with bits (as she does with her boyfriend who is also a comedian) … Jacques listening to Pavement albums and Jack Benny Radio shows from 1938 on his drives … Not as much. Anjelica is a unique voice in comedy – expressive, physical humor and someone whose bandwagon you should be jumping on now. TONIGHT! LIVE from the YouTube podcast house studios on this Friday of Goodness, we have a very special guest, Mr. DB Wayfield! Welcome to our hot mess. DB Wayfield is the Belgium podcaster from Brooklyn, New York and we are going to have fun chatting about his chitty chat chat podcast which has pleasant bed music and a soothing ambiance. It is very good. It is actually a journal of short thoughts about his stuff and life changes for example, being AF. I believe that stands for Alcohol Free. Basically his podcast is called LIFE, CHANGE and STUFF…Here are the highlights: We are having a crazy blast here tonight. Yes this episode is about his podcast but we are also just chillaxin' with our CBD roll-on sticks and gummy bears. Tony and DB (Dalton, formally known as Mr. V.P.) hit it off right away with their fondness of records and I probably should not have messed around with the Ouija board again as the end of this episode stops abruptly. Sorry guys but my computer just shut off. The battery died and it was plugged in. Maybe not far enough? Idk but I am sure the devil did it. Which reminds me to mention that this episode was brought to you by our Swedish Black Metal friends CLOAK OF RAVENS. Tony picked some great songs from this band for our commercial and yeeeeeAh, …it all leads into a part 2 episode coming soon since we were cut off just like that. Obviously the Ouija board did it. Join us next time and we will be hearing music from Mr. DB Wayfield himself. DB Wayfield and Six DeGrees of a Belly Dancer

An embodiment of resilience and empowerment, Krystalore Crews embarked on her life coaching journey amidst life's tumultuous twists. Having served the United States Air Force - Air National Guard since 2002, her path took a significant turn when she transitioned to the roles of Human Resource Advisor, Diversity & Inclusion Consultant, and Emotional Intelligence Facilitator, amongst others. The move from Buffalo to Harrisburg presented challenges, both professionally and personally, causing self-doubt. However, her transformative experience began when she enlisted the help of a coach who guided veterans through life transitions. By 2017, Krystalore, driven by a passion ignited through introspection, launched her own coaching business. Her life's tapestry, marked with tales of triumph over adversity - from a wheelchair-bound phase in 2005 to completing 25 marathons and enduring major health scares - makes her coaching approach deeply empathetic and transformative. Her vibrant history as an NFL Cheerleader and professional Belly Dancer enables her to infuse zest into her fitness initiatives, such as mindset, HIIT, and Kickboxing classes. As the world grappled with the pandemic, Krystalore seamlessly transitioned her offerings to the virtual realm, catering to a diverse audience in search of mental and physical wellness. Author of "Your Krystal Clear Life Planner", Krystalore is not just a coach but a beacon of hope, encouraging individuals to transcend challenges, embrace change, and lead fulfilling lives. With each endeavor, she seeks to crew with those yearning for transformation and growth. Find out more at https://www.krystalorecrews.com/
April Rose will be sharing a portion of her Bold Bellydancer Shift Workshop. If you haven't followed her before April is an Austin-based interdisciplinary artist, teacher, and performer of bellydance, transcultural dance, frame drum, and finger cymbals. She's absolutely wonderful and her approach to dance and art and life are truly inspirational. In this portion of her Bold Bellydancer Shift Workshop she'll share with you several reasons she believes a paradigm shift is happening in the fusion dance space, but honestly many of her points ring true for the Raqs Sharqi space as well. She'll dive into carbon copy styling versus developing your own creative intuition and using that to create your own style, and how in the end, it really is all about the process. This workshop was originally given as part of the Cohesion Camp Virtual Retreat and is available as part of the 2023 Bundle. Or was, if you're listening to this after November 10th, 2023. If you like this you can check out more from April by following her online and checking out the Cohesion Collective. All links can be found at www.thebellydancebundle.com/104

Finally! The Finale! Yeah, I finally got around to uploading this super fantastically awesome episode of Six DeGrees chillin' with our favorite punk rock daddio KING-T. Yes it is a little late and I do apologize to K-T and his band NYALIS. I think he would understand though. Sometimes too much shiz comes in and up all at once and creates what is called a "creative block". Use your imagination on that one lol, but yeah it is a thing and it happens to all of us. Some of us more often than others. So that's my big excuse on why the last episode of Six DeGrees of a Belly Dancer is late. Trust me, getting to hang out with King T was so fun it will make it well worth the wait. Thank you everyone for subscribing and listening. We will see you next fall where we look forward to introducing our new and improved online fun-zine.

Here at Six DeGrees of a Belly Dancer we give a shout! In this episode we're droppin' more than just a couple of shouts. Yikes. I get another write-up and Tony tells us how he will NOT be doing a grow season. Instead he is going to a hippie flea market. We find an emerging epic event/group, the #newmexivibes and I give my co-luber a birthday shout. Because we give a shout. OH yeah! I accidently show Tony a picture of my colonoscopy (sigh) and I am beginning to think that Tony is not as conservative as I thought he was (lmfAO)! It gets a little more awkward when HR gets involved during our chat about "Drag Queen-Story Time". oH sNap! 2of them going up.
Our first episode from the Boston Cigar Club is good time for the panel. We land an interview with the owner. There's an interesting story behind this lounge. The Hidden Herf is guessed by way of a coincidence. A possible future Hack joins the festivities. Oh yeah – it's Pat McGroin's birthday Local Spotlight – … Continue reading "Episode 279: Be Patient, the Belly Dancer is Coming! – Local Spotlight: Boston cigar Club, Charlestown, MA"
Another love episode that is little more dark and a little more dirty. Wait. Or was it darker and deeper? It was one of those or all of those but the important thing to know is that it really isn't what we are thinking. Besides Tony reading some of his hate mail from Mr. Ef-Knutts he gives us valuable information on a special Guns and Roses album that collectors love but have to watch out for. He will post a picture of this album on our SDBD page. In this episode please enjoy some more love songs to add to your new and improved playlist brought to you by OAS! A reminder that you can listen to all of the Open Air Sonar episodes back to back on our YouTube channel Six DeGrees of a Belly Dancer under the playlists tab.

I can honestly say that both Tony and I had our cookies kick in at the same time. I am sorry. Sorry that I have no idea what was doing. What I do remember is that Tony is a busy bee. He's making concert plans, he is getting ready for the next online record auction tonight, he adopted an axolotl (Shhhhh, maybe he did maybe not) I don't know. He is finally to the letter U cleaning out the record collection and he gives us a preview of what is to come for our season finale. Sorry, all I did is pull some good advice out my box of nonsense. I told you I can't handle cookies of any kind.
Introducing the up-and-coming self-taught commission artist from Salt Lake City, UT… Sinisterlore! Yes! our favorite watercolor/ink artist has come back to the zoom room to hang out with Tony and me! Let's cut right to the chase here. This woman has stickers for sale right now! Ah hell yeah, stickers! We LOVE stickers. Stickers on my car, on my toolbox, on your skateboard (don't forget your helmet!), on your cooler, on your skies, office, kid, wall, dog… you know you love stickers! You don't want just any sticker either. You want a “one of a kind” “unique” sticker that makes people think and feel inspired. You want impressive and amazing stickers from a local artist. Do you know how chic that is? What if you are not from UT? Well then, if you have a sticker from an artist that is not local then that makes you an artist connoisseur! In this episode Sinisterlore tells us more about her ink/marker pieces, watercolors, inspirations and what she has planned for her new online store on Storenvy.com! She tells us a little about working on Gouache, color theory, and the exciting news about re-opening her commission art soon. Be sure to follow her on linktr.ee/SinisterLore for contact information and the latest updates or if you would like to order prints, stickers, or a personal piece made just for you (commission art). This gracious artist is known for painting exclusive pieces to be donated to great causes such as the 2020 Goddess Gala for The Christmas Box House and the 2021 For the Love of Brian cancer fundraiser. She has also donated numerous mystery bundles of stickers and mini prints to charity raffles. Sinisterlore, is definitely the next emerging artist to watch!
Another round of antics. I forgot to push record! Although will still cover many a topic. Tony tells us how bands pick who is going to play first at a “showcase” and I briefly explain a solo belly dance showcase. I tell the story of how I got my name Shasha, Tony buys a new vinyl from a popular movie and turns his pets into ashes after they die. Also, the story of how my neighbor murdered my cat. All that, a great soundtrack plus more! WoW! Really can't ask for anything more today.

Are you familiar with the Five Elements? Dondi Dahlin dives into each element and how working with the elements can help address health challenges and lets you age in a way that feels good! In this episode, Cathy and Dondi discuss: Defining what the Five Elements are: water, wood, fire, earth, metal Understanding that each element has specific parts of the body that govern it Examples of personality types and common emotions for each element Different body parts that connect to the fire and earth elements The history of the Five Elements and why it's growing in popularity Benefits of understanding the Five Elements and control cycles How Dondi learned about the Five Elements and different energy systems Whether or not people can completely change their element How to know which element you are and the elements of other people How knowing the Five Elements can help predict health challenges for ourselves and others Memorable Quotes: “The five elements are this incredible system about personality typing. Also, it's a health system as well, and the five elements are water, wood, fire, earth, and metal…once you find out what your element is, you'll also find out what parts of the body govern that element.” “It diffuses it so you can relax. Oh, I see I have this foundation, this underlying vibration that doesn't put me in a container but it sort of contains who I am, and I don't have to beat myself up anymore. I get it, I understand who I am so much better.” “An element can be suppressed by a school or a family or a way of life that made that element go dormant. So does a person really switch their element completely? Or was that element always there and just settled underneath the late layers and waiting to come out? That's a question that we still grapple with.” “You can do things so you can age in a way that is vital and that feels good and where you aren't walking around hunched over with health challenges. Just start to embrace your elements and it does wonders.” Dondi Dahlin is a bestselling author and has been a recipient of many book awards for her international best-seller The Five Elements, based on the world's oldest personality type system. She has taught at ACEP, OMEGA, Hay House, Shift Network, Mindvalley, Feathered Pipe Ranch, and events throughout North America and Europe. Dondi co-wrote The Little Book of Energy Medicine with her mom Donna Eden who is a renowned healer and pioneer in the field of Energy Medicine. Before Dondi started working with her mom, she performed in over 30 countries, was featured in 100 commercials, took the titles of both Outstanding Speaker in the Nation and Belly Dancer of the Universe, and remains a member of the Screen Actors Guild. Dondi is also a mom who home birthed and home schools her son. She became a historical preservationist when she fought to list her home, the only Victorian Folk House in San Diego as “protected” and on the historical register. A survey of 2,000 people looked at the ways in which people stay positive throughout the day and found a resounding 88 percent consider themselves positive people overall. However, 69 percent of those surveyed still wish they could be more positive. The survey, conducted by OnePoll in conjunction with The Original Donut Shop Coffee, revealed four in five believe positive thinking can help improve their lives and start the morning off on a positive note. For half of those surveyed (50 percent) the morning can't start out positively unless they begin it enjoying a morning cup of coffee. In fact, four in five people agree their daily cup of coffee helps them stay positive and productive throughout the day. Forty-eight percent also say exercise is key to getting their day started on a positive note. "I'm a belly dancer, not a stripper!" Think again, bb. Over the past half century, both belly dance and pole dance have become wildly popular industries. Now, the popularity of dances like twerk and dancehall are on the rise. The power in these industries concentrates in the hands of white women, rather than the cultural knowledge-holders of the dances in question. In this very special episode, I am joined by Tanesha, my colleague in erotic movement, to discuss racism and anti-sex worker stigma in belly dance, pole dance, and other forms of erotic dance.Upcoming Stripper's Guide events:Time Justice: a time management workshop for creatives & scatterbrains (Dec 2 & 16)Goal Coaching: a small, exclusive group coaching program for visionaries ready to take real-world action on your dreams.
