As Frank, the older classmate, reached to grab Johnny, the much smaller Johnny felt Frank's large hands just barely beginning to attach to his blue hoodie, intent on driving him backwards into the lockers as he had done so many times before. All at once Johnny had a calm fall over him, and heard a voice in his head… COORDINATE, COORDINATE, just COORDINATE! Everything seemed in slow motion, just as his instructor had told him it would. Johnny had been training all summer for something just like this and all the painful, sweaty, repetitions of his HAPKIDO classes were about to pay off. Something about practicing and creating myelin on his neural pathways over the last few months… whatever it was by the time Frank started to push Johnny was already in motion. Stepping backwards and bringing his fists between Frank's larger arms was easy as Frank had provided all the energy Johnny would ever need. Just as Frank's momentum pushed past Johnny's fists were slamming into the pivotal points of his wrists and Frank's hands released as he slammed headlong into to the lockers. Bam! The resounding, and somewhat satisfying sound of his head and shoulder into the metal locker was almost as loud as Johnny's kihap (energy yell) which got the attention of the nearby security officer. Surprised, Johnny actually heard himself say, “Geez, this COORDINATED power sh..stuff actually works!” Red faced, Frank turned just in time to hear the hallway fill with laughter and feel the powerful grip of the security officer on his arm. As Frank was guided to the office his colorful threats echoed quieter and quieter, sealing his fate. COORDINATED power is how much smaller, weaker defenders “use the energy” of much larger opponents. The PRINCIPLE is simple. COORDINATION is more powerful than fighting. Period. Think about it, Johnny could have resisted, and Frank would still drive him into the lockers. Frank's 65 pound advantage means Johnny would have to be not only 65 lbs heavier, he would have to be faster, and stronger to even start to compete with that much force. In life how often do we resist, fight and not consider the unused power of everything and everyone around us? Johnny used Frank's energy as a gift, to preserve his own health. Mostly we consider first what we can do before we ever get started with anything. A much later though is bringing in help, usually when we have failed, or begun to fail in our performance. More often than not our COORDINATION of power is too late. When do we COORDINATE power? Consider it's now, right away, or before we even start. Why not? COORDINATION of power is always more powerful than anything we can do alone. COORDINATE! Krisha & Frank enjoyed the Moonshine History Tour at Tennessee Shine Co. Frank liked the display about the connection between moonshine and stock car racing. Krisha didn't want Frank to touch the electric chair display but he threw the switch anyway. After the moonshine tour, Frank excitedly texted Krisha that the new Mapco was offering free fountain drinks that day. He saw several corporate-types wearing khaki slacks and polo shirts while they were standing around in preparation for the ribbon cutting. Frank used the convenience store's restroom and could hear a man in the next stall who was talking on his phone. The man dropped his phone and it slid into Frank's stall. Frank offered to return it but the man retrieved it with his fingertips. As Frank was washing his hands, the man with the phone passed by the sink, paused and then took a dry paper towel to wipe his unwashed hands. An enthusiastic woman was getting a free milkshake for herself. She encouraged another woman to put her small cup back and get a large milkshake because they were free that day. Frank and Elsa are one of the best couples ever. They are a power couple. They both have a heart of gold. Elsa, a registered nurse who was on the frontline health worker and Frank a musician and an author, they both have a passion to help people. The salon means everything to them. They want to build a great foundation for their kids and that is the most important part. Our interview was fun and amazing. They are so down to earth, positive and great people. Frank has a wonderful heart and he knows how to impact, motivate and inspire. Their salon is like paradise you can pick and choose, your pampering for the day. They do hair, nails, skin care, waxing, eyelashes, and so much more. ALL ABOUT FRANK AND ELSA: Husband and Wife team, Frank and Elsa Melero had a long road ahead of them when their brand new business had to shut-down before it even opened, mid-renovation for their salon, Serás Salon which halted in March 2020. – Frank and Elsa Melero, Husband and Wife, Owners and Parents to two younger children, announced that they official re-open their salon, Serás Salon in Northridge, CA. Purchased by the couple in 2019, they saved all their money to renovate and re-build a beloved salon that had been a staple in that shopping center since the 90's. Elsa Melero splits her time as a front-line health care worker, helping out and pushing for progress during the pandemic as well as helping Frank renovate and rebuild the salon during her far and few between days off. The salon was a passion project for the two of them, which quickly turned into a hopeful project. “It's painful and tiring now, but we're doing it for our kids”, Frank says while taking a minute to catch his breath after a long, tiring day of work. The salon was supposed to be a way to have a solid foundation and a family business, so their two kids can grow up working with the family. The Pandemic caused a stand-still for salons and had Frank and Elsa re-thinking their decision. With Elsa on the front-lines and Frank working tirelessly to finish the renovation of Serás Salon, the days seemed to get longer and longer for the two of them. “Keep Pushing and Have Faith”, they tell each other to keep motivating one another during their final stretch before the re-launch. Finally, LA county allowed salons to re-open and Serás Salon was able to officially re-launch. As Frank and Elsa started at a tough time, but their motivation and dedication for their two kids will push them to great lengths. Serás Salon, formerly the Hair Grove, is a well-established salon in the heart of San Fernando for 25+ years. They specialize in customer satisfaction and want for the clients to leave their salon feeling like their the most beautiful and brilliant self! Elsa and Frank are usually in the salon and are committed to their clients experience while they are at the salon. But if not, the clients will be very well taken care of by one of their brilliant stylists! In part two of Colin's talk with journalist Frank Smyth, Frank talks about his 2020 book, The NRA: The Unauthorized History. The history of the National Rifle Association begins in New York City in 1871 as a group made up of Union veterans and those interested in target shooting. Founded on the model of the British National Rifle Association, the American NRA was a pro-government, pro-military organization seeking to train men for the next major war. As Frank's book shows, the NRA started to take a hard turn to the Right in the late 1970s at what has been called the "Cincinnati Revolt." Today, there is no doubt that the NRA has remade the country in its image. Despite its early history, the present-day NRA is wholly devoted to a liberal (but not Liberal) interpretation of the 2nd Amendment and protecting personal gun rights. Given the NRA's influence and five million member power base, it has been difficult for centrist and left-wing politicians and citizens to enact meaningful and sensible gun reform and regulation.  But is that changing? The NRA has been suffering from internal leadership squabbles and financial problems that are threatening its very existence. Grassroots groups, furthermore, such as the Parkland students, have gained success rallying support for common sense gun reform in the wake of countless mass shootings.  In Frank's well-written and fast-paced book, he gives an illuminating overview of the organization, which has not had the best track record when it comes to transparency and telling the truth about its origins.

As Frank discusses during his candid assessment of where the financial services industry is now and where it is going, the impact of COVID-19 can most be seen in the W-2 space where advisors, who now are working from home, have gotten a taste of what it means to be independent - albeit without the financial upside. For those W-2 advisors who may now be considering whether independence is right for them, Frank offers insight on how to evaluate whether it is time to transition. Strategies Frank outlines include:*evaluating whether your firm partner is helping or hindering your practice's growth.*the importance of using this time to gather client assets and uplevel your business. *how embracing technology can boost your efficiency.*social media as a key marketing differentiator for today's financial advisor.*utilizing a transition consultant to help you filter the noise and make the next right move for you.*the financial upside of going independent. It's time for W-2 advisors to play to win and not settle for the status quo as defined by their firm partner. Frank Murphy (@frankmurphy2009) and Kayla Harren share A GIRL LIKE YOU, co-authored with his wife Carla Murphy. Frank affirms with this sequel to A BOY LIKE YOU why the world needs every kind of kid. Sensitive, outgoing, smart, brave, caring, energetic, creative, and whatever other words that might come to mind as you think of the kids in your life. The first book was written in response to Frank’s observation of all the problems going on in the world, and to how the media continued to blame those problems most often on guns and on boys. We talk a lot about addressing toxic masculinity, but not all masculinity is toxic. As Frank shares, “there are great ways to be a man.” Under the talented hand of Kayla Harren’s pencil and brush strokes, boys from all kinds of families, neighborhoods, interests, and skin tones are seen and loved and valued on the page. The same care and respect was taken in centering girls for the sequel, A GIRL LIKE YOU, only now Frank invited in another voice to help tell the story and one that could help reflect the experience and identity of the book’s focus. What resulted was another beautiful marriage of words and art that affirm the reader and remind each child of their agency in the world. This week we're in Matty's Motherland of New Hampshire, talking with Frank Zagami of Deciduous Brewing. Frank and his wife Maryann opened their brewery five years ago as the first in Newmarket, a traditionally quaint New England town in the greater Portsmouth area, with the intention to help push New Hampshire past it's reputation as a simple beer throughway between Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts. We dive into exactly why the state's beer scene was in many ways slower than its neighbors to develop, how laws have held breweries back, and how they hell someone can be pulled over in an airplane. As Frank oversees brewing operations at Deciduous (in addition to a litany of other roles), we also spend some time in technical town and get into the process behind some of the brewery's cocktail-inspired sour ales and (lightly) fruited lagers, both of which left a huge positive impression on Matty and - shockingly - on the cold, jaded shell of Noah.Frank is one of the hardest workers in the business, shares some very interesting perspective on a state that has always left the guys a bit bemused, and even is gracious enough to allow Matt to be Pippen to his Jordan in a New Hampshire-centric Three Bay ........................................................................................Music: "Mountain Climb" by Jake Hill

As Frank demonstrates, employers soon developed ways to work around the ban in the law, which proved difficult to enforce. While as early as the 1850s governments considered new legislation to clamp down further on truck, efforts to do so ran into both laissez-faire and paternalistic arguments that together successfully frustrated passage of new measures. It was only with the increasing influence of the New Model Unions and the growing enfranchisement of workers from the 1860s onward that the issue became more of an electoral priority. While this pressure led to new legislation in 1887 and again in 1896 that improved enforcement of the ban on truck as well as introducing restrictions on fines and other pay deductions, concerns about wage theft persisted for workers up to the start of the First World War, when Britain’s entry into the conflict disrupted further pursuit of legislative amelioration. Hi everyone! Welcome back for another week of reviews. We’ve got two more weeks left of reviews for we break for the end of the year. The Oscar race is heating up in theaters nationwide, with multiple top-quality films in theaters, including today’s film until it appeared on Netflix just before Thanksgiving, which makes it perfect for Streaming Sundays. I waited until it hit Netflix to see it, and I’ll tell you why in a minute, but for a couple other films related today’s film, check out our review for SILENCE (Episode #061) for another Scorsese film, along with our recent review for the heavily-inspired-by-Scorsese film JOKER (Episode #630), now the highest grossing DC Movie of all time. We also have another Patreon episode up at patreon.com/onemoviepunch. This week we present part two of “Stories from the Fire”, a collection of the audio essays and mini-dramas from last year’s wildfire evacuation series. It’s a nice way to look back on our podcast, and a nice checklist of goals to review. I’d say we did pretty good. The episode will be publicly available for a limited time, but you can maintain access to it by becoming a sponsor at any level. All contributions go to paying our expenses and helping us to grow with our audience. We’ll also have a promo from our new friends Susan and Greg at the Honey, You Should Watch This podcast. Well, not really new friends. Susan is the social media genius behind the Top Five for Fighting podcast, of which Greg is co-host with Mike. On the Honey, You Should Watch This Podcast, however, Susan and Greg choose films for the other to watch, and then resent each other forever because of it. I’m sorry, I mean discuss and analyze the films. You can find them on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram @HoneyWatchThis. Subscribe here to stay current with the latest releases. Contribute at Patreon for exclusive content. Connect with us over social media to continue the conversation. Here we go! ///// > ///// Today’s movie is THE IRISHMAN, the epic historical crime drama directed by Martin Scorsese and written for the screen by Steven Zaillian, based on the book “I Heard You Paint Houses” by Charles Brandt. The film follows the life of Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran (Robert De Niro), a meat truck driver who becomes attached to the Bufalino crime family, thanks to Russell Bufalino (Joe Pesci). As Frank rises in the ranks, he’s given a job as bodyguard / hitman for notorious union boss Jimmy Hoffa (Al Pacino), and history begins to take its course. No spoilers. All right, so I made a conscious decision not to watch this film in the theaters. Not because I don’t think this film would be amazing on the big screen. I hope one day to have that experience, but the theaters featuring the film didn’t have great seats, and I’ve been healing from a pinched nerve since mid-October, which makes sitting for three and a half hours absolutely not possible. I’ve seen a few “which viewing method is superior” arguments, and I’m going to skip past all that, because the answer is unique to each person. No theater experience is going to mask nerve pain. No home experience is going to free from distraction and temptation. Either way, people are seeing this film and absolutely loving it. How they’re seeing it is pretty much an argument only for the Academy. I’ll also say up front that I watched THE IRISHMAN in three segments at home, for the same reasons as above. I got to avoid the pain of prolonged seating, and get a leftover turkey sandwich in the process. In addition to digesting that turkey sandwich, I was also able to digest the impressive film unfolding before me, and to look up the immense cast of characters that were showing up along the way, before diving back in for another chunk. Three and a half hours is a lot to ask of anyone, and a home viewing experience will lead to a much larger audience, and I think Scorsese understands that. I also think Netflix left money on the table by not giving this film a larger theatrical run, because having seen it once, I would definitely see it again, in a theater with seats that won’t cause me pain. Scorsese tells his best stories when they don’t fit the classical film structures. Far from being a maximalist tale, full of diversions and lily gilding, every scene in THE IRISHMAN helps to tell the story of Frank Sheeran, which is layered over three different timelines. The narrative voice comes from an interview with an older Frank Sheeran, sometime before his passing in 2003, presumably with Charles Brandt although we never see who he’s talking to. Sheeran begins his tale about a road trip he’s taking with Russell Bufalino in 1975, but we’re quickly brought even further back in time to the 1950s, where a de-aged mid-thirties Sheeran first meets a de-aged late-forties/early-fifties Pesci. Both efforts are well done, but I don’t think either actor could go much younger. And from here, we watch Frank slowly and surely learn his way around organized crime. De Niro has absolutely no trouble carrying Frank Sheeran throughout the years. De Niro is no stranger to mob roles, which makes his role as Frank feel almost like typecasting. De Niro’s also one of those actors who brings a very distinct gravitas to his performances, unable to shake a certain amount of himself or his career from any role. Which makes him a perfect Frank Sheeran, but a perfect Frank Sheeran as played by Robert De Niro. And he really is perfect, from start to finish, amazing as narrator, on screen, and in his scenes with both Pesci and Pacino. Pesci is wonderfully subdued in his role, making it well worth leaving his unofficial retirement. Pacino has a more difficult time as Jimmy Hoffa, especially when he’s slagging on Italian Americans. Pesci manages to outrun his career whereas Pacino feels a little trapped by it. De Niro also works well with every one of the cast of thousands who appear in this film. In addition to the top three billing, we have Ray Romano, Bobby Cannavale, Anna Paquin, Stephen Graham, Harvey Keitel, Jesse Plemons, and even Action Bronson. Scorsese empties out his entire contact list to cast all the characters in every major part of Frank Sheeran’s surprisingly well-connected life. Many characters have their epilogues on display throughout the film, most of which were killed in some mob-related encounter. I’m pretty sure the film is a shoe-in for Best Picture, solely because by my calculations, roughly half of the Academy has a role somewhere in this film. However, that’s never the only reason when it comes to Scorsese. Scorsese masterfully uses well-placed fixed position cameras and mesmerizing, moving long-takes, along with great locations, cars, and costumes for each time period. It takes exceptional talent and skill to make three and a half hours so engaging and digestible. In another filmmaker’s hands, this film would be completely about the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa, but with Scorsese, it’s just another, although admittedly large part of Sheeran’s life, a fact we understand very well as the film draws to a close through a very extended and enjoyable epilogue. Scorsese always delivers quality cinema, and THE IRISHMAN is no exception, remaining true to his subject by remaining true to his story. Also, a metric shit ton of profanity. THE IRISHMAN is Scorsese in top form, drawing together a cast of thousands, anchored by three long-time collaborators. De Niro provides a solid portrayal of Frank Sheeran, supported well by Pesci as Russell Bufalino and Pacino as Jimmy Hoffa, retelling a long story from one man’s omnipresent perspective. Crime film fans, especially crime biographies, should definitely check out this film. You’ll see it again at Oscar time, but why wait? Rotten Tomatoes: 96% (CERTIFIED FRESH) Metacritic: 94 (MUST SEE) One Movie Punch: 10/10 THE IRISHMAN (2019) is rated R and is currently playing on Netflix.

As Frank describes it they are “helping entrepreneurs build software companies that are eating the world” (he’ll give you a little more info about what that means in our interview). Frank Chen is a self proclaimed former product and user experience design junkie with specialties in venture capital, artificial intelligence/machine learning, fund raising, product planning, product launches, product development process, enterprise software, UX design, Web hosting, and managed services. With a breadth of expertise like that, you can see why we were excited to have him on the show! But even after all of that, Frank let us in on what his heart as an investor looks like. He pulled aside the curtain a bit and let us see that investors aren’t so much the terrifying titans up on the hill as they are servant leaders who want to help others be successful. It was a fun, enlightening and engaging conversation. We hope you enjoy it, and as always, thanks for listening. As Frank continues the current sermon series, he stays in Luke 11 this week, hovering over a story involving the criticism of some of the religious leaders toward Jesus's approach to ceremonial practices. As was His "custom" he saves his harshest rebukes for those who were hypocritical in their approach to faith and religion. It reminds us to be careful about making traditions and customs into "God-ordained" commandments. It is especially true in how we view and treat others who may do things differently than we do.

Tibetan Buddhism seems mysterious, intriguing, and sometimes scary. In this episode I talk with Frank Howard of the White Lotus Buddhist Center in Rochester, New York—continuing my series of "Talking with My Teachers"—who explains that it's not as mysterious as it seems and it's certainly not scary! As Frank explains, there is only ONE Dharma and Tibetan Buddhism is a sort of a misnomer. It is Buddhism, containing all Buddhist forms, but also the Vajrayana or Mantrayana path. Like the Mahayana path, motivation is the most important part. The motivation of kindness and compassion through the Bodhisattva path of benefiting all beings. Listen as we talk about motivation, faith as confidence, our weaknesses and their antidotes, and how "Buddhism is completely practical and makes your life better."

Frank Castle goes on the offensive in our Punisher Episode Seven Review of "Crosshairs" we discuss our top five points about this episode in our Spoiler filled discussion. As always make sure you've watched the episode before listening to the podcast. Punisher Episode Seven Review Podcast Spoiler filled Synopsis Written by: Bruce Marshall Romans Directed by: Andy Goddard In the aftermath of O’Connor’s murder, Lewis Walcott (Daniel Webber) struggles with the ramifications of his actions. As his father, concerned at the state of his son, desperately seeks to provide any help he can, Lewis begins a descent down a darker path. Back at the bunker Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) and Micro (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) pursue another face from the past as Frank sets out to target Morty Bennett (Andrew Polk), one of the founders of "Operation Cerberus" and one of Rawlins' allies in the heroin smuggling plot. Dinah Madani (Amber Rose Revah) and Sam Stein (Michael Nathanson) go bug hunting after they suspect her office has been bugged. Sam stages a "cover" to find whoever is listening. As Frank and Micro develop their plan, William Rawlins (Paul Schulze) sets in motion a plan of his own to trap his former subordinate. However, Micro and Frank remain one step ahead as Micro has Frank keep Bennett long enough for the recon drone to clone his phone and track down Rawlins. After saving Bennet, Russo shows true loyalty to the operation, killing Bennett in an attempt to clean up any loose ends. Meanwhile, Frank arrives at Rawlins' base and lines up the sniper crosshairs on Rawlins at the window. Following Frank’s words “one batch, two batch, Penny and Dime” his sniper shot rings out from the treeline followed by a distinctive crack of bullet proof glass that spreads around the head of Frank’s intended target. The shot has hit its mark but not its target. As the lights go up and the alarm goes off Frank flees for his life! Thanks so much for listening to our Punisher Episode Seven Review Podcast. Wall Street Unplugged - Your Best Source for Finance, Investing & Economics

Welcome back to another episode of Wall Street Unplugged! Today's guest is Frank Holmes, CEO and Chief Investment Officer of U.S. Global Investors. If there’s anyone that knows the global economy, it's Frank. To begin the episode, Frank talks about the reality of deregulation. As we all know, the Trump administration has promised massive tax reforms. But Frank argues that these reforms are going to take much longer than what has been initially anticipated. As Frank says, it’s time investors realize Trumps pro-business reforms will “take twice as long… cost twice as much… and will make everyone half as happy.” In addition, Frank explains his bullish stance on the mining, materials, and energy sectors. According to Frank, the recent cutbacks in supply for several commodities will soon lead to large increases in price. Changing topics, Frank then gives his outlook for the airline industry. Two years ago Frank’s company, US Global Investors, launched what’s now known as the #1 airlines ETF in the world (JETS). And his timing couldn’t of been better… Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, as of last week, is now investing $8M into the airliner industry. This is the same industry he called a “death trap for investors” just 5 years ago. As Frank explains, a lot has changed since then.  Following decades of mergers, bankruptcies, and other disruptions, this sector is finally finding some stability. And current valuations are low – trading at 12 times earnings. Tune in as Frank makes his case for the finest pure-play airliner investment in this rejuvenated sector. Then, to close up the interview, Frank discusses “smart data.” And his methodologies behind emerging market investments in countries like China, India, and Argentina. These are places where so many investors have been burnt – yet where Frank has found so much success. Although there is still money to make in America, Frank shows us little-known ways to diversify our portfolios overseas. Also, I'll be covering this week's interesting short report on Northern Dynasty (NAK). I've been getting tons of questions. And I hope this segment clears up all the confusion. This is one of the most corrupt occurrences in the financial industry... and it's completely legal! Before Frank Holmes signs on - I'll be highlighting the several blatant lies made in this report.

If you've have never heard of Frank Schaeffer, you may be surprised to learn that his life has most likely impacted your life and the lives of nearly every American in ways we're just now beginning to grasp. Frank is the son of Evangelical Christian authors Francis and Edith Schaeffer who ran a world famous Christian organization in Switzerland. As Frank got older, both he and his father Francis became prominent figures of the Evangelical world in America, working closely with Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson and most importantly helping to start pro-life movement, as recently pointed out by Samantha Bee on her show, Full Frontal. Many who were religiously homeschooled in America in the last 30 years grew up watching Frank's Evangelical Christian movies. From the pro-life propaganda film, Whatever Happened To The Human Race to How Then Shall We Live, a documentary that Michelle Bachmann has often cited as one of her main inspirations. Frank Schaeffer left the Evangelical world years ago and is now an artist and writer. And while the most important aspects of his life involve his grandchildren, his family and his home in Massachusetts, Frank is extremely outspoken about his time in the fundamentalist Evangelical world as evidenced in his memoir Crazy For God and his most recent book, Why I Am An Atheist Who Believes In God. Co-host Dustin Parent and I sat down with Frank a couple of weeks ago to discuss his current advocacy against the Fundamentalist ideals of Donald Trump, America's addiction to certainty and the intrinsic value of Beauty. This is episode is part one of our conversation with Frank.
