The conversation I had with Rachel was genuine. She has a great support system, and she loves being an independent author. Rachel grew up in Western PA and found her love of reading early in life, supported by her parents with frequent trips to the library and local bookstores. She stumbled into the bookish world in late 2020 and has embraced the lifestyle whole-heartedly, diving headfirst into the Romance genre, becoming a book reviewer and Bookstagrammer. In 2021, she changed careers, took a job at an indie bookstore, and started her first official novel-length writing project. Now, Rachel is getting an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction at Seton Hill University and juggling too many story ideas for one brain to handle. She's excited to continue to share Happily Ever Afters with you that bring the swoons, the spice, and the humor. Rachel had a dream to do what she loves, and this dream became a reality in 2022. Rachel's debut novel, "Carry Me Through Christmas," published November 10, 2022. Signed copies are always available for purchase. She continues to move forward with "Capitally Matched." Rachel's currently working on a new series of interconnected standalones featuring five brothers while she pursues an MFA in Popular Fiction at Seton Hill University. When not immersed in her bookish world, you can find Rachel hanging out with her husband and two cats, spending time with friends in the Washington DC area, and rooting for Pittsburgh sports teams. The conversation that Richard and I had was remarkable. I am super excited for Richard and his career path. He is doing such a great job with everything he has done so far. Richard Chevolleau is a native of Kingston, Jamaica. The multi-talented artist has honed his career over the years by living and working in New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver Calgary, Ottawa, and Toronto, where he currently resides. Richard, a Canadian Gemini and Actra award winning actor, is going to camera summer 2024 on his latest short film, “Marvelous Marvin.” Chevolleau brings his director/writer/producer skills to the table for the project. “Marvelous Marvin” is produced by Three Finger Film Productions Inc. Chevolleau's production company, executive produced by Richard Fagon & Angie Reid. The film stars Knyght Darius Jack, (Accused, Blues Clues, Grayson's Encounter) Angie Reid (Coroner, Slip, Promise Me) Shanice Banton (Degrassi: The Next Generation, Murdoch Mysteries, Lifetme's Her Stolen Past) and actor Michael Brown (Four Brothers, Hudson & Rex, Diggstown). Chevolleau's sensitive and heartwarming film is a coming-of-age drama. “Marvelous Marvin” follows the journey of quiet ten-year-old Marvin Marvellus, who lives in a small rural town. Marvin has caught the wrath of the schoolyard bully, Tiny, and endures daily bullying from the boy. Marvin feels defeated and helpless until one day he discovers his father's vintage superhero comics. He finds inspiration in the comic book heroes, leading him to believe that he can become a real-life superhero. He wears a make-shift cape and calls himself Marvelous Marvin. But, even with the name change and cape, Marvin realizes that defeating his bully isn't that simple. He finally confronts his tormentor, and by standing up to him, Marvin discovers that courage comes from within if you believe in yourself. Being a passionate and character focused actor, it's no surprise that Chevolleau will educate and inspire us with “Marvelous Marvin.” Chevolleau pays attention to his craft and knows you can not stay quiet, and every day is a journey. By directing, writing, and producing projects, Chevolleau makes sure his work is heard on his terms in the stories and characters he creates. Along with “Marvelous Marvin” Chevolleau has a slate of projects to come. Marvelous Marvin delivers a powerful message about the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of inner strength in the face of adversity.” Richard Chevolleau, the actor is currently in pre-production as the creator, writer & producer on the upcoming feature film, "STINKY: THE NILO GOODMAN STORY". The conversation with Gail Treasure was a good down to earth conversation. Gail is a remarkable writer, author, and retired teacher. We had a very interesting conversation about her career and journey in life. Gail Treasure is a retired school teacher who still teaches occasionally. Gail attended York University, where she majored in French and Italian. Gail has always loved to write, has taken countless writing courses, and attended numerous writing workshops. She is currently writing a novel for pre-teens, and she can not wait to release it. Gail is happily married and has two scientist daughters who Gail loves very much. Gail grew up in Toronto but now resides in the beautiful town of Uxbridge, Ontario. Gail wrote a novel called "Wife by the Hour" which was inspired by her many trips to France, her fascination with peeling back layers of the institution of marriage, and her desire to shed some light on the issue of the rights of sex workers in modern society in a fictional way. Gail is in a women group of kicka$$ writers. RE:BOOKS, a prominent independent publishing house in Toronto, was established by renowned 10x bestselling author, Rebecca Eckler. With a mission to champion the idea that "what's good is read and what's read is good," RE:BOOKS is dedicated to delivering captivating stories that even Eckler herself would love to devour. No book snobs allowed! RE:BOOKS helps women to get their books published—from the big idea to the bestsellers' list. No excuses. No sugarcoating. By curating the most exciting titles in Canadian publishing, they continue to inspire readers, offering a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction titles. Therefore, Gail's novel "Wife by the Hour" is about a woman named Julia - Meet Julia, a confident and empowered middle-aged single mother gracefully balancing her professional life as the sought-after escort, “Just Julia”, a nod to Pretty Woman. She enjoys the lucrative work; however, faced with the shifting sands of parenthood, she has decided to exit her “under the covers” business and turn to a full-time teaching career, stepping away from the escort business for good. On her final day, Julia finds herself more than enjoying the company of her last client—a handsome man named Alex, who she soon recognizes as the husband of a friend with whom she had spent a turbulent summer au pairing in the South of France 25 years earlier. Julia is bewildered as she realizes that she has undeniably strong feelings for a man for the first time in her life. As Julia falls deeper in love (and lust) with Alex, she can't help but dream that maybe—just maybe—he will reciprocate her feelings. When Alex asks (and pays) for Julia and her daughter to go to France, where he'll be vacationing with his family, including his wife, Julia can't say no, no matter how risky it is for everyone. Mostly, Julia wonders if and how it's possible she can get Alex to leave his marriage for her. Alternating between past and present day, Julia reflects on her escorting experiences and explores the seven reasons why many men are reluctant to leave their marriages and choose to pay for intimacy instead. Conversation with Roger Leslie was very uplifting. Roger was comfortable with the podcast. He expressed himself, and he kept it real with me. Roger spent his childhood in Michigan, loving books & movies. The age of 13 creative diversions ignited an idea for him that he would become an author. He took inspiration to action and wrote his first novella. Roger sensed to his very soul that he was on his journey of a lifetime. After Roger moved to Texas with his family when he was a teenager, he set his sights on being a novelist. At the time, he didn't know if he would have the talent to achieve his dreams. But the passion that Roger felt to succeed ran deep enough to sustain him through years of disappointing rejections and fateful detours. Roger writing throughout his high school years was empowering. Roger was setting a goal to write his first novel before graduation. This gave Roger's life, a driving purpose, and created his first social identity. To all of his peers, he became “the guy who wrote the book.” Roger undergraduate degree focused exclusively on creative writing. Roger received advice from a career counselor, and he changed his major to English education, which expanded his professional prospects to include decades as a teacher, professor, and school librarian. Roger earned a Master's degree in creative writing and a doctorate in education. Roger kept writing and submitting, and over time, he expanded what he wrote. Finally, multiple publishing successes converged to create a career-paving direction. In a single year, Roger became a reviewer for Booklist and received contracts from different publishers for a novel and three nonfiction books. He became open to writing in an array of genres, both nonfiction and fiction. As a result, he found more publishing success through large, medium, and small publishing houses. Roger even won multiple local, state, and national awards. Years as an award-winning educator paved the way for international speaking engagements. Dr. Roger Leslie, scholar in the fields of success and education. Leslie has won numerous national awards, including ForeWord Book of the Year, The Ben Franklin Award, and Writer's Digest's #1 Inspirational Book of the Year. Roger received the Houston Literary Award for his body of work. Roger demands as a teacher, coach, and keynote speaker. He leads FLY (First Last Year) courses based on his blockbuster memoir, "My First Last Year." He draws from decades as an author, editor, and publisher to coach writers in groups and individually. He is also a sought-after speaker for his lively, entertaining keynotes relating award-winning movies to any topic or group. In every book and presentation. Leslie entertains, inspires, and empowers people to live the life they dream and soar toward their own ideal of success. He has written approximately 20 books. His books like "Light Come Out of the Closet" is a memoir of a gay man's struggle to reconcile his sexuality with his faith. It explores his journey of rediscovering the God of love he learned about as a child and how being gay became a gift that helped him find his soul. This book is a powerful testament to hope, healing, and self-discovery in the face of prejudice and adversity. His recent book "No Stranger Christmas" is a fight against gay discrimination and a story of love and insight. While trying to save Christmas for his financially struggling family, 14-year-old Frankie Lincoln finds the courage to explore his artistry, stand up to gay discrimination, and pursue first love. You can find all of Roger's books and social media links by going to his website at www.RogerLeslie.com and you can find his books "Light Come Out of the Closet" and "No Stranger Christmas" or Amazon-Amazon.ca- Kindle. I had a very awesome interview with Dr. Amara Pope. She is a fun person to speak with, especially when we talk about music and marketing. Amara is passionate about her career, and she strives to be the best of herself. Dr. Amara Pope is a second-generation Canadian-Trinidadian woman. Under thirty, Pope has completed her Ph.D., MA, and Joint Honors BA, all while working at several jobs to pay for her education. Nothing was given. The onus was on her to succeed. Pope brings laser focus and personal clarity to her PhD. dissertation, "Canadians Redefining R&B: The Online Marketing of Drake, Justin Bieber, and Jessie Reyez" The topic stems from the impact music had/ has (although not fully realized at the time) on this little girl growing up in a predominantly white place. Today, Dr. Amara Pope is a passionate and confident marketing manager, the first in a loving working-class family to graduate with a PhD. Music became an important part of her life growing up, the understanding of why and how significant came later in the journey, with Pope's insightful PhD dissertation. Pope's well researched work uncovers the missing history of Canadian R&B, which had been excluded from Canadian media in the past. Pope features stories with Crack of Dawn, Oscar Peterson, Jackie Shane, Eleanor Collins & others. The paper critiques the organization of music through racial and national divides with insights from interviews conducted with music professionals and marketing executives. Pope explores how Canadian music was exclusively represented by white rock and folk artists & R&B music was exclusively used to group Black U.S. artists. The extensive dissertation argues that R&B exemplifies a multicultural Canadian identity by investigating how Drake, Justin Bieber, and Jessie Reyez broke into the music industry to represent multiple yet equally Canadian R&B artists. Pope analyzes the growing popularity of contemporary Canadian R&B in the digital era by examining Drake's, Bieber's, and Reyez's performances during BLM and the COVID-19 pandemic when they all released new music. The researcher takes an in depth look at the rise of Canadian hip hop and R&B music, specifically through the struggles of many racialized and immigrant Canadian artists who work together in the periphery of Canadian society to break into mainstream media. Pope explores how these Canadian artists collaborated with many U.S. artists to establish what she calls "Canadian R&B music," a mixture of R&B, hip-hop, pop, soca, reggae, and many immigrant sounds, styles, and cultures. The dissertation looks at how Drake, Justin Bieber, and Jessie Reyez reinforce, complicate, and / or challenge dominant beliefs of "Canadian-ness" and "R&B-ness" At a young age, Pope relocated from Scarborough, On. with its diverse ethnicities to a small town in Elmira, On. where hers was the only “brown family.” They were known as the “brown” family in the corner house. Pope embraced her Trinidadian culture with strength, understanding, and a sense of empowerment. She realized after her dissertation that musical artists like Bieber, Drake, and Reyez resonated with her younger self and allowed her to embrace different parts of her identity in ways that her immediate environments did not permit. Pope uncovered a deep interest in exploring the ability of musical artists to create experiences that she can enjoy along with other listeners. Gwen and I had a genuine conversation on Keepin It Real w/Caramel Podcast. Gwen is passionate about her journey and looking forward to seeing what the future holds for her. Gwen K. Harvey is an accomplished entrepreneur, author, active foundation director, and the founder of a well-established Toronto-based family wealth strategy firm. With over three decades of honing her writing skills through business commentary, her passion for storytelling led her to venture into creative writing. She is currently enrolled in the Creative Writing Certificate program at the University of Toronto. In addition to her professional achievements, Gwen cherishes her role as a mother of three. Alongside her husband and their rambunctious Bernese Mountain dog, Bear, she divides her time between Toronto and Mulmur, Ontario. Gwen is very excited about her novel "The Acquisition of Elizabeth Grace" the novel is about one day on New Year's Eve of 1961, while visiting family in England, sisters Sophie and Olivia's lives are forever changed with the ill-fated discovery of a sapphire and diamond bracelet gifted to their mother, Elizabeth Grace Bennett Bannister. Their mother, a Baron's daughter within the English aristocracy, grew up roaming the vast and beautiful estate of Harrington Hall. After the events of that fateful evening, Elizabeth Grace all but disappears from their lives, and the sisters are left to discover why their mother never returned home to Toronto, Canada. When Sophie and Olivia receive the opportunity to return to England years later, a series of disturbing buried secrets and scandals surrounding the characters of Harrington Hall begin to emerge. With elder sister Sophie taking the lead, they set out to reconnect with their estranged English family and finally find answers to their looming questions: What happened to Elizabeth Grace? And what other ghosts does Harrington Hall hide? A beautiful coming-of-age story that explores the nuances of fraught mother-daughter relationships, the loss of love and wealth, and the difficult nature of wrestling with ghosts of the past. On Keepin It Real w/Caramel Podcast, Caramel had an interesting and informative conversation with Emil Rem. Emil meets a lot of people, and he is not afraid to speak with strangers. Matter of fact, he makes great friends, so you never know who will meet until you speak them. Emil Rem, an eccentric accountant and he becomes a writer of eccentric characters, in exotic locales—each chapter, taking us on a trip into his fascinating twisted world. Born to a close-knit, middle-class Muslim East Indian family in Dar-es-Salam, Africa, in the 50's, he is then moved to Maidenhead England at the age of five. The next twenty years are spent shuttling between England and East Africa, wearing a St. Christopher's cross one minute and attending church, to wearing a green armband and attending Muslim religious classes in Africa the next. Moving to Canada, marrying a woman from the Philippines and having two boys only adds further texture to his stories. At the age of five, his mother, who possessed no education but held impossible ambitions, divorced his father and moved to England with Emil in tow. The only work she could get was as a trainee nurse but found she could not look after Emil. An English working class family volunteered to take him in until she found a permanent home for him. The initial two weeks turned into 12 years…His father continued to work for an airline which permitted Emil to travel free(ly) on standby and from the age of 12 he began to travel the world on his own… “Neither of his parents could afford to come with him. His mother gave Emil a pittance for his travels—it was all his mother could afford. Emil would arrive at London airport with a carry-on bag and a wad of tickets and take whichever airline had space available. He could have been in Moscow or Rio de Janeiro, Emil never knew. Nor did his family.” Today, Emil is a successful accountant, a respected member of my local community, and the author of three well-reviewed books with more in the works. Many of their chapters have appeared in literary magazines. His wife and Emil are happily married after 30 years, and they have raised two pain-in-the-neck boys who drive him crazy, but whom he loves dearly. Therefore, to understand Emil, his most fundamental conviction is this: It's not the chances you're given in life that matters. It's the choices you make. Your choice of action in the face of discouragement and adversity. Your choice of attitude: negative or positive, stuck or resilient, powerless or empowered. Your choice between despair and hope. Emil has chosen action, resilience, and hope—and he believes that we each have it within ourselves to do the same. You can go to Emil website at https://emilrem.ca/about/ or his social media - Facebook and LinkedIn at Emil Rem - To request additional review copies or an interview with Emil Rem, please contact Mickey Mikkelson at Creative Edge Publicity: mickey.creativeedge@gmail.com / 403.464.6925. Richard Parker and Caramel had a wonderful conversation on Keepin It Real w/Caramel Podcast. The conversation was so genuine and refreshing to know that Richard is truly in the world to help people. Richard Parker is the founder of Diomo Corporation – The Business Buyer Resource Center™ and author of the How To Buy A Good Business At A Great Price© series. Richard has purchased fourteen of his own businesses and has been an advisor and broker to small business buyers and sellers for over three decades. He has written and been featured in more than 300 articles on the subject of buying businesses in The New York Times, Entrepreneur Magazine, and The Street.com. He is also a weekly contributor to Forbes Magazine. Richard was recently nominated for Inc. Magazine's ‘Entrepreneur of the Year' award. Richard was born in Canada in 1961, and based in Florida since 1996, Richard Parker has been a business “junkie” since childhood, owning his first business at 12 and selling it profitably at 13 (this remains his favorite business story). His fascination with getting others involved in businesses started at this young age when he recruited seven neighborhood children as paper carriers and then successfully approached the local Sunday paper to grant him a master route with the idea of letting them solicit home delivery where there was none previously (sub-contracting the other kids and taking a percentage of their business of course) and so a career was born. The businesses have changed in the past 30 plus years, but the excitement remains. Richard feels “It has taken a lot of time, effort, and some painful experiences to develop the tried and true formulas that immediately identify a good business. More importantly is recognizing what particular business is ideal for the individual and which types are not. Keepin It Real w/Caramel had a fun and entertaining conversation with SJ Hazim. SJ is a very outgoing and passionate person. He loves what he does for people, and he gives out great energy in the world. He shines with positivity on everyone he meets. SJ Hazim is the man behind the writing and production for the 70th Brown vs. Board compilation song “Levitate”, which includes over 20 talents from the Topeka, KS area. Picture the style of “We Are The World”. Topeka, KS played a crucial role as one of the key locations where the Brown vs. Board cases originated. African American families, such as Oliver Brown, had a daughter who was denied enrollment in a nearby white school. Over time, the Brown vs. Board decision became a catalyst for the Civil Rights Movement, which helped lead to further legal and social changes for equality. In 1954, the case of Brown vs. Board of Education was a landmark in the Supreme Court ruling that declared the racial segregation in public schools was unconstitutional. This was considered one of their most celebrated victories in a long time. To this day, it remains one of the most defining moments in US history. Brown vs. Board was a coordinated group of five lawsuits against school districts in Kansas, South Carolina, Delaware, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Some of those featured on the song are Brendon Elliott, a violinist and Julliard graduate who has earned distinction through his performances with the New York Philharmonic and as a guest soloist with the Virginia and Richmond Symphony Orchestras. -Bizzy gained recognition in the hip-hop community as he was featured on Tech N9ne's track “Erbody But Me” on the 2016 album. This was a pivotal moment for Bizzy and helped him become a figure in the midwest rap scene. - Stik Figa is a Topeka, KS based rapper who blends a southern style with a midwest influence. His notable accomplishments include collaborations with Mello Music Group and appearances on Shade 45. -Roger Ortega is a spotify-verified and Grammy Voting R&B/Pop Artist. Roger has had the opportunity to open for artists such as Jay Z, Color Me Badd, Aaron Carter, Otown and DJ Pauly D to name a few. His successes include his first album “RnBPoPWrtyr” reaching #62 on the itunes chart and his second album “The Lottery” reaching #8. - Lamont Jackson is a Topeka, KS police officer with a love for music. His singing and songwriting talents have given him the ability to showcase his talents through performances and karaoke nights. Most recently, his enthusiasm for music led to viral fame with a “police car karaoke video” that caught the attention of Kelly Clarkson, and he was invited as a guest on her show. This is just the start for SJ, in May 2024 he will be releasing his album “Syncronicty in Motion” as well as his Hip Hop Play “Rhythm of Insight: A Hip Hop Odyssey in Verse”, featuring 10 classic hip hop beats with his own lyrics as a 50 years of Hip Hip Salute which will have multiple volumes. SJ can also be heard on Roger Ortegas “Back To Kansas (Top City Remix)”. Known as a staple in Topeka, KS, he is ready to let the rest of the world know who he is. It has been 2 years since I spoke with JP McLean. She was very excited to speak with me, and I felt the same way..so the feelings were mutual. When Keepin It Real w/Caramel spoke JP McLean, it was a pleasure speaking with JP. We had a ball catching up. She is full of life, and by way, the conversation was very fun. JP (Jo-Anne) McLean is a bestselling author of urban fantasy and supernatural thrillers. She is a Global Book Award winner, a CIBA finalist, and has received honours from the Eric Hoffer Book Awards, the Wishing Shelf Book Awards, the Whistler Independent Book Awards, and the Victoria Writers' Society. Raised in Toronto, Ontario, JP has lived in various parts of North America, from Mexico and Arizona to Alberta and Ontario. JP holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of British Columbia's Sauder School of Business, is a certified scuba diver, an avid gardener, and a voracious reader. She had a successful career inhuman resources before turning her attention to writing. JP lives with her husband on Denman Island, which is nestled between the coast of British Columbia and Vancouver Island. JP love of reading started early. She has memories of sitting in her father's lap with a picture book from the library and dragging her finger along the page under words that her Dad would help her sound out. Her love of writing started somewhat later but ignited when she began writing what she loved: supernatural thrillers. Some call it urban fantasy, paranormal, or magical realism. The definitions overlap somewhat, but the thing they have in common is a fantastical element that forces you to suspend reality and ask the question, What if that were possible? JP stays true to herself, and she writes what she feels and she loves when the reviewers love what they read. Her reviewers call her books addictive, smart, and fun. I knew JP is someone special, she keeps elevating and I can't wait until one day she writes her movie, to me it going to sell very well, plus I want to be in it, that's if she let me, we will see. You can reach her through her website at jpmcleanauthor.com or through her social media sites. You can request additional review copies or an interview with JP McLean. K.T. Anglehart and I conversation on Keepin It Real w/ Caramel was refreshing. I love speaking with entrepreneurs who can be themselves, and that is just what K.T. did.. She was herself. We could've talked for hours. I know we both enjoyed the conversation. Katrina Tortorici Anglehart is known as K.T. Anglehart is an award-winning author from Montreal, with a multilingual prowess in English, French, Italian, and “Spanglish”. A dedicated academic, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, a graduate certificate in Scriptwriting, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. Inspired by the wizarding world, the land of Narnia, and parallel planes, she penned The Wise One, inviting readers to connect with nature and its ever-present magic. Her exploration of the landscapes and folklore of Ireland and Scotland greatly influenced her debut YA urban fantasy, marking the inception of the Scottish Scrolls series. K.T. Anglehart is a passionate advocate for bunnies, thanks to her late Netherland Dwarf, Magic—the inspiration behind her imprint, The Magic Dwarf Press. When she's not writing or diving into magical reads, she revels in hiking and antiquing, and Netflix binges alongside her high school sweetheart-turned-husband, Andy. They currently live in Toronto with their three pets: Nessie, a mysterious rescue dog from Puerto Rico, and their whimsical bunnies, Onyx and Stirling. K.T loves when the worlds collide for both teen and adult readers, who will love the fast-paced thrills and interplay of witchy fantasy, Celtic folklore, and reality in The Wise One—book one of The Scottish Scrolls series. A SYNOPSIS OF "THE WISE ONE" -Mckenna's never thought much of her nightmares, but on her seventeenth birthday, a vivid dream of burning at the stake awakens her dormant abilities, thrusting her into a world where faeries are real, spirits hold a grudge, and a High Priestess obsessed with a 16th-century prophecy is tracking her every move. Now, her overprotective dads, Seán and Andre, are forced to tell her the truth—they know who her birth mother is, and her life is not the surrogate story she's always been told Abigail, Mckenna's mom is some sort of mystic, and Mckenna a Wise One.Whatever the hell that means. With the help of a persistent little wren and company of a newfound friend, Mckenna journeys to Ireland in search of her mother and real answers. Along the way, she learns to harness her innate magic and trust her intuition, as best she can anyway—Cillian, a kind and passionate delegate who crosses her path, is proving much harder to read. Only her mother could truly help her halt her ill fate and prepare her for what's to come . . . before she gives into the darkness she knows is buried deep within. Amazon.com: The Wise One (The Scottish Scrolls Book 1) eBook : Anglehart, K.T.: Kindle Store K.T. Anglehart expertly weaves a story set in Ireland that is both timeless and unique, a perfect cross-market read for those searching for the next endearing urban fantasy classic. Therefore, K.T. reached out to readers to let them know that love is love, and it doesn't matter who you love as long as you both love your child. K.T. doesn't stop there she continues to reach readers in her new novel that will be released this month November 2023, "THE TWIN FLAME" - which you can find it at The Scottish Scrolls (2 book series) Kindle Edition (amazon.com). The conversation I had with Sharon Neiss-Arbess was right in my line department store or stores. I remember when I used to go to the shopping malls, which was very exciting for me. Now shopping online has a different aspect. I will still go to a department store to shop. I love to see and touch what I am buying. Keepin It Real w/Caramel Podcast "As We Say 100" spoke with Sharon Neiss-Arbess and we talked about the difference between department stores shopping and online shopping. Sharon wrote a novel about a department store, so let's find out all about Sharon Neiss-Arbess. After Sharon graduated from Concordia University's Communication Studies program in Montreal and Algonquin College's Creative Advertising program in Ottawa, writing novels had to wait a few years to fulfill her dream of being a copywriter in Toronto. Once Sharon's children were born, she left the advertising world and became the CEO of the Neiss/Arbess household. Duties included mastering the act of breastfeeding, driving carpool, becoming a short order cook, and volunteering at her children's schools, synagogues, and several charity organizations. During this time, the writing bug began to fly around Sharon's ear, so, she began to write at her local coffee shop where her debut novel and middle school cult classic Me and My So-Called Friends was written. Once published and distributed, the feedback was tremendous and triggered a need for additional related resources. Together with an educator, Sharon produced a teacher's manual called Brave the Waves. Sharon's love for writing YA was continued with her second book Get Up, which contains a collection of meaningful short stories, functional exercises, and inspirational quotes from mentors. Sharon has written for several online magazines, has been featured in Living Legacies, a Collection of Narratives by Contemporary Jewish Women, The Toronto Star, and writes blogs on her website about really cool people, insanely easy recipes, and what she thinks the world should know. NOW A SYNOPSIS ABOUT THE NOVEL: THE MOST AMAZING DEPARTMENT STORE - Stepping onto the floor of Sunderland's means stepping into a whole new glamorous world for two women whose lives and loves are forever changed by their time working at the famous Department Store in downtown Montreal in the 1940s and 1950s. Sunderland's is the place to be — The Mecca of Luxury — when shopping for a blouse, a pair of shoes, lipstick, or fragrance was met with displays of lavishness and luxuriousness, shoppers met with impeccable sales manners, and where women could spend entire days, enjoying a slice of independence acceptable during these eras. After Lilly leaves her husband, she can't believe her luck getting a job at Sunderland's, where she finds more than the self-sufficiency she yearns for. She meets another Jewish woman, Vivian, a sharp-tongued, vivacious whirlwind. They become best friends and face antisemitism, sexism, and rejection — all imposed on them, when Jews were not “normally” hired — while also testing the limits of their own very different ambitions. When Vivian almost loses everything she's worked so hard for, and Lilly decides on a fresh start, the pair will never be the same. Their friendship might not survive, no matter how significant it played in their lives. This is the story of our unnamed narrator... an origin story of a would-be, hopes to be, serial killer. The Japanese Box is a story that blends memoir, creative nonfiction, and the horror of a coming-of age story, and a coming of middle-aged story. Imagine growing up with a reflection that is often absent and a Japanese box that is filled with things that should never have been there. Memories. Violence. The Japanese Box is a love letter to anxiety, trauma, grief, and longing. It is a story of a child becoming an adult and all the ghosts and misfortunes that happen in order to survive. The Lithium Moon: Simone is an artist by day and an emotionally abused wife at night. She is a successful artist with a long history of schizoid effective disorder with bipolar tendencies. When her marriage goes from good to bad, she suffers her first miscarriage. The tragedy coincides with a wolf moon-trauma, and magic converge seems to converge in Simone's head. This story explores sadness, illness, hallucinations, full moons, and the creative process. What stage of grief is not a poem, or a song, but a dirge. Fantasy and facts, this poem walks a fine line between nightmares and memories. Grief stories and lovestories. Dogs and drama. Nightmares, and nevermore. Keepin It Real w/Caramel Podcast had a great time interviewing Jennifer Silva Redmond. We talked about her and her husband living on a boat. I feel this is so romantic and refreshing to hear. We spoke about how does it feels to live on a boat. What are the advantages and disadvantages of living on a boat. Jennifer loves living on the boat. She gets to travel and just be free. She told me that people ask her if she gets bored or how she could live in such a small space. I told her it is called having your peace. Jennifer Silva Redmond is a writer and freelance editor from California. Her essays, articles, and fiction have been published in numerous anthologies and magazines and on sites such as Brevity. She is on the staff of the Southern California Writers Conference and San Diego Writers, Ink, and was the prose editor for A Year in Ink, vol 3, and co-founder of the critically acclaimed Sea of Cortez Review. She lives with her husband Russel, an artist and teacher, aboard their current sailboat Watchfire, somewhere on the West Coast of North America. Formerly editor-in-chief of Sunbelt Publications, Jennifer is now their editor-at-large. She is currently writing a book about editing; her book reviews and blog posts about writing, editing, and sailing life can be found on her website. When Jennifer Silva married Russel Redmond, they decided to spend a year at sea, sailing in Mexico. The honeymoon tested their new relationship, not just through rocky waters and unexpected weather, but in the ways that living on a twenty-six-foot sailboat makes one reconsider what's truly important. In this charming, meditative memoir, Jennifer recounts that first fateful year they spent at sea, moving back and forth through the waves of her life. On their first voyage, the couple sailed Watchfire to Baja's Sea of Cortez, where they spent a year before sailing south along Mexico and Central America and through the Panama Canal. Jennifer's unique experience on the boat weaves back and forth through time as she explores the events that led her to taking the first step onto the boat—from her childhood to the time she spent as a struggling actor in New York. About the book: The memoir of "Honeymoon at Sea" is in this deeply meditative, quietly funny memoir, Jennifer Silva Redmond and her husband Russel embark on a year-long sailing trip for their honeymoon. Over thirty years later, they're still going. About RE:BOOKS: RE:BOOKS is a broad commercial independent publishing house based in Toronto, founded by 10x bestselling author Rebecca Eckler. Keepin It Real w/ Caramel Podcast interviewed Mo Moshaty, and we had a very deep conversation about horror, which I am not a fan of horror or anything involving horror. Mo Moshaty loves every single moment of horror. She started watching horror movies at a young age, and she became a big fan of horror. Mo Moshaty is a genre screenwriter, author, and lecturer. With a concentration on psychological and possession horror in her writing. Mo's background as a trauma specialist and behavioral therapist provides a sturdy foundation. She is the creator of the course, “Writing Trauma Respectfully for Screen '' and was a Guest Lecturer for Prairie View A&M University's Film and TV Program and with Horror BAFSS in Sheffield, UK for No Return: A Yellowjackets Symposium. There is so much more to Mo Moshaty. Mo is a journalist and co-founder with Nyx Horror Collective and co-producer of the 13 Minutes of Horror Film Festival featured on The Shudder Channel. Nyx Horror Collective was founded by a group of diverse woman-identifying horror creators to develop, celebrate, and elevate original, women-led horror content. As a core member of Nyx, she has recently partnered with Stowe Story Labs to provide a fellowship for women writers over 40 working in the genre. Mo also served as Associate Producer on Scottish Indie SciFi Horror web series, “Cops and Monsters”, and was ecstatic to shine more of a light on indie horror. Mo's most recent literary work can be found in "A Quaint and Curious Volume of Gothic Tales," published by Brigid's Gate Press, and "206 Word Stories" by Bag O' Bones Press. Her novel "Love The Sinner" is a thought-provoking examination of sin by the co-founder of the Nyx Horror Collective. According to Dante, a sin is the misdirection of love - the human will, or essentially, the direction of our beings. "Love the Sinner" is an examination of just how those sins can kaleidoscope into horrific consequences, creating a distorted and deadly landscape. These stories stand stark before you in full glaring misstep and macabre to show the human psyche in all its twisted reality. You can find "Love The Sinner" at Love the Sinner - Kindle edition by Moshaty, Mo, Turpitt, Elle, Oxler, Carey, Ellis, Stephanie. Literature & Fiction Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com. Keepin It Real w/ Caramel Podcast had an unbelievable jaw-dropping interview with two phenomenal teenagers, Hallie Balogh & Auttie Grace (H.A. Stories). These teenagers are on their way to fame. They are well-spoken, well-rounded, and have great energy. They already have a plan on what they want to do and how they are going to do it. Hallie and Auttie are already writing their second novel, and they self-publish. These wonderful teenagers have a lot in store for their future. Look out for their screenplay and so much more. By the way, I am super happy I met Hallie and Auttie in Baltimore at the Inspirational Women in Literature Media and Journalism Awards. When I first met them, I knew they were very special and unique. More about Hallie and Auttie: Everything started in 5th grade when Hallie Balogh and Auttie Grace first met. They quickly became known for always being together. You never only saw one of them. That 5th grade school year didn't only spark their friendship, but it set the foundation of the Auttie and Hallie writing power duo. From 5th grade and all through middle school, they spent their lunches, free time, and every chance in between writing stories together. Once Covid-19 hit, they took it as an advantage to write their first novel, “Empire: To Earth and Back." Honestly, it started as a joke, but here they are, two award-winning teenage authors with a published YA sci-fi adventure novel and many more to come. As young teenage girls, they want to inspire others that no dream is “too big” when you're passionate about something. You just have to follow your dream and do it. This is how H.A. Stories began. Hallie and Auttie are helping others in their dreams, such as friends and other teenagers. The goal for the teenage girls is building their own publishing company because they want to help people who wants to write and publish their book, it doesn't matter what age a person is as long as you reach your goals and dreams they want to be there to help. When they wrote "Empire: To Earth and Back," they never expected that their novel would turn out so great. Just a little overview about the novel. The way you can look at it, you can either welcome the craziness or live your whole life in fear of it. Empires rise and fall all the time, but who knew a couple of kids were going to be the ones who tipped the balances of the universe? Fighting for their lives and on the run from the FBI, a group of kids tries to find their way back home to Esprit, but unintentionally, they mix worlds along the way. When will they finally know the truth? Depends on whether or not they make it out alive. Don't get caught, don't give up, don't die, and most of all, don't lose your mind. You can follow Hallie and Auttie on their website at https://hastoriesofficial.com or email them at hastoriesofficial@gmail.com, you can also follow them on their social media (Instagram - @hastoriesofficial) Thank you for listening to and supporting the podcast. The one on one conversation with Amanda Hess, a Certified Life & Success Coach for Neurodivergent Women, was very informative and helpful to women who are going through difficult times. We spoke about mental health and so much more. Amanda is a CERTIFIED LIFE COACH AND SHE KNOWS A FEW THINGS ABOUT HAVING A BRAIN THAT DOESN'T ACT LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE'S. Amanda spent years of her life and multiple thousands of dollars trying to "fix" what was "wrong with herself" until she realized that there actually was "NOTHING" wrong with her. When she started working WITH her own brain, everything else in her life just fell into place. Not only did she feel way less stress & anxiety, but she also began purposefully creating results that she WANTED in her life. So Amanda started to work on “fixing” herself. THIS IS HOW IT STARTS: Amanda started with drinking to try and cover up who she was. Amanda was a lot of fun in her 20's. Until she wasn't because she don't tend to be “less” emotional when you were wasted. In Amanda's 30s, she turned to the medical profession for help. Amanda was diagnosed with Postpartum Depression, prescribed SSRI's with a handful of therapy sessions, and lived like a zombie for an entire year. But when she was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, she knew that things were as bad as they could possibly get. Amanda had uncontrollable anger, and she didn't know what to do. Amanda tried all the therapy, podcasts, and books, and ultimately, nothing seemed to help. Until she learned that she didn't actually have to hate herself. It turned out her brain was working exactly the way it was supposed to. She learned how to understand her anger and give herself what she needed instead of lashing out at others. (WHILE EVERYONE ELSE THOUGHT EVERYTHING WAS COMPLETELY FINE) Amanda found a coach who loved her unconditionally and taught her to do the same for herself. And now that's what she is going to teach to others. She considers herself to be a neurodivergent, mental illness survivor. Amanda used to live her life trying to desperately figure out what the fuck was wrong with her. Because she didn't really fit in. Because everything just seemed a little harder for Amanda. She was a little too loud. A little too excited. A little too genuine. A little too abrasive. She had a life that everyone else would agree looked pretty perfect. She was married, had 2 kids, a dog, a house, and a professional career. It's just that nobody really knew what happened behind closed doors. Now, Amanda helps hundreds of other women do the same. Amanda loves helping driven women to stop letting "disordered" or "different" block them from living a "HELL YES" life. I had an upbeat conversation with the native of New York City, Ryan Lane. Ryan Lane is a singer, songwriter, and dancer. He is one of the most inspiring and empowering people I have met. He is very passionate and loves what he does when it comes to entertainment. Ryan loves to give back to people. Ryan Lane is inspired by numerous styles of music. Ryan Lane hoped that one day, he'd share more of his talents with the world. As a pre-teen, starting his professional music career as a member of the Harlem Boys Choir, he began to develop his own style of vocal range and had the opportunity to travel the world sharing the stage with the likes of Stevie Wonder and The Backstreet Boys, just to name a few. Ryan has had many incredible performances throughout the years, from sharing the VMA Stage with Wyclef Jean and Queen Latifah, television appearances with reggae icon Shaggy and legendary superstar Sting, singing the National Anthem at Met-Life Stadium for an audience of 60,000 people at the Jets Game as well as choreographing for inner city kids from New York City and working with award winning producers, Lady And A Tramp ( Pink, Babyface, Disney, NKOTB) and KayGee Of Naughty By Nature ( Janet Jackson, Aaliyah, Jaheim, Notorious B.I.G, Zhane) plus, having music featured on the BET Christmas film "Hip Hop Holiday." Ryan has been working closely with KayGee and Lady And A Tramp writing and vocal producing for various artists. Ryan is currently just coming off a tour with NKOTB for the MixTape Tour with IlltownSluggaz (label owned by Kay Gee and Vinnie from Naughty By Nature). They opened the show as a dj set along with a few performances, including their summer single "FIESTA." Illtown Sluggaz - Fiesta ft. Ryan Lane [Official Video] - YouTube During the start of the pandemic, Ryan not only released his single “FOREVER”, he filmed the music video for it in the empty streets of NYC. Not knowing what the future held, Ryan stayed true to who he is, writing, recording, and still dancing, all while being stuck in the house. Little did he know at the time that in 2022, he would then hit the Road for 56 dates with Illtown Sluggaz on the MixTape Tour with NKOTB, Rick Astley, En Vogue and Salt N Pepa. Since then Ryan has released his version of Phil Collin's “Against All Odds”, in November 2022, “The Right Song” with Illtown Sluggaz and is getting set to release “MIND” on March 21st. His music can be heard on Dj Coco Chanel Radio Show “The Block” 94.7 NYC as well as Miss Jonesy in the Morning. Ryans single FOREVER was released, and the video shot smack in the middle of the pandemic. Illtown Sluggaz x Ryan Lane - Forever [Official Video] - YouTube Ryan is currently working on new music with numerous artists, movies, and television shows. 2023 is looking bright for this talent. There is no stopping Ryan. He is on his way to becoming a household name. If you would like to follow Ryan Lane on his social media, go to IamRyanLane. You will never know who you will meet in this small world. The world looks so big, but this world is so small. I had a conversation with David Hollenbach, not knowing that I had seen and talked to him before. Once we spoke about where we saw and talked before, he signed his book personally and gave it to me, such an awesome person. On July 19, 2023, we had a great conversation about leadership. David Hollenbach is a veteran of the United States Navy with a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Barry University. A major focus of research for his capstone was how strong, positive leadership can influence the culture of a large organization. While studying at Barry University he published "The Firefighter's Creed" and “Women in the Fire Service: A Diverse Culture Leads to a Successful Culture,” an article highlighting the importance of gender diversity within the fire service in Fire Engineering Magazine. He has spent years as an instructor, coach, and mentor, helping others define and realize success. Although he no longer works as a servant to the community, his passion for service to others remains stronger than ever. During his 23-year career in the fire service, he served as a: • Firefighter • Apparatus Driver/Pump-Operator/Engineer • Company Officer/Lieutenant • Battalion Chief in Operations • Chief of Special Operations • Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) peer counselor • Public Safety Rescue Diver • Coordinator and developer of his department's first leadership development program Battalion Chief David Hollenbach (retired) is the author of “Fireproof: Your Grand Strategy for Transforming Failure into Fuel for Your Future." He is a motivational speaker, coach, and mentor. He owns and operates David Hollenbach Consulting, LLC, and hosts the popular podcast “From Embers to Excellence." FIREPROOF: Your Grand Strategy for Transforming Failure into Fuel for Your Future [Morgan James Publishing (October 11, 2022) ISBN: 1631958607 $8.49 on eBook and $17.95 Paperback] Mr. Hollenbach takes the idea behind Yale University's Grand Strategy Program designed for political leaders and heads of large corporations and applies those principles to the individual. His book answers the question: How can I create a grand strategy for my life? He then leads the reader through steps to develop their own unique grand strategy to create a life that helps others and leaves a stellar legacy. Personal development topics like self-leadership, self-awareness, communication, healthy relationships, and self-care run throughout FIREPROOF, as David R. Hollenbach, III emphasizes the importance of uncovering one's core values and finding one big WHY. Hollenbach provides an analysis tool for challenging situations to help the reader discern which parts they can control, what they can influence, and which things they can neither control nor influence. He also provides tools for releasing stress and working through feelings of overwhelm, as well as outlines critical daily habits and mindset matters that are essential for success. Every time I speak with Dr. Mike, I have a blast talking to him. His sense of humor is funny to me. I told Dr. Mike, he should try stand-up comedy, but he didn't agree. His stories are funny and amazing. I totally respect him and truly adore him. I met Dr. Mike, when I went to Baltimore, Maryland, to accept my award for the Inspirational Media Award. Thanks to "And We Thought" Ladies - Jade and Wilnona, I would not have met Dr. Mike, if it wasn't for them, by the way, the ladies were and still are amazing, and their event was perfect. I interviewed Dr. Michael Deeze on July 14, 2023, and like always, I enjoyed it. I was excited to hear that his new novel will be coming out in September 2023, and he wrote it with his beautiful daughter. Congratulations to them. MICHEAL DEEZE was a child in the notorious Maplewood Commons housing projects of inner-city Chicago, growing up hard and fast. Surrounded by crime and violence, his family struggled to just hold their own while trying to escape their own poverty. Michael Deeze gained street sense young, and it became the backdrop for a life of multiple indiscretions and occupations. Michael Deeze is a natural-born storyteller—in life and in print. A child of the sixties, he draws extensively from his own diverse experiences and subsequent education to introduce the hapless Emmett Casey. As U.S. Army veteran and retired as a physician after 35 years in private practice as a Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Mike now lives in Illinois after spending decades living near the forests of Northern Wisconsin. He's a devoted father to his three children, a magical daughter, two grown sons, and his dog. His first novels are the critically acclaimed Bless Me Father, and For I Have Sinned, The Heretic is the final novel in the series. Michael Deeze life experiences are numerous, and he held many occupations before pursuing a health care education and career. In his storied life, he has visited every state in the Union and worked on 5 of the 7 continents of the world. From shoveling manure to delivering babies, he has many life stories. Honing his skills as a public speaker while he served as a professor and administrator for a major university, he is an excellent storyteller an a very funny person with a beautiful heart. I had a ball interviewing the legends of entertainment on July 11, 2023. These four guys came together back in September 2021 as the world was opening up to give us all a show in New Jersey. Now, they are giving us music with a positive, fun vibe. They are ready to come together to bring a fun new sound. Are you ready to know the Legends? Roger Ortega recently released his third full album "Midwest Charm" in October and he released the single and video for "New York Vibe" featuring Nitty Green of the group RIFF, singer, songwriter L*A*W who has toured w/ Amy Winehouse, & worked w/ Lionel Richie, Bruno Mars and many more, as well as producer Edson Sean. Roger Ortega is a Spotify verified R&B/Pop recording artist. His record sales, performances, and songwriting open the door for him to be a registered voting member of The National Recording Academy. As a recently accepted member, amongst other things, he can officially vote for The Grammys and has been invited to attend since 2018. Roger has opened for acts such as Color Me Badd, Otown, Aaron Carter, Dj Pauly D and more. - L*A*W lives for entertainment and most fans know L*A*W as the singer/rapper/dancer/producer & multi-instrumentalist In Funk Legend George Clinton's 420 Funk Mob in the legendary P-Funk camp but millions have seen him on national television back at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards & David Letterman in his white kangol glory singing & dancing behind the late legendary British sensation Amy Winehouse as well as being her opening act for her sold-out shows in New York City with his own red-hot 7-piece musically diverse, high energy band, The Planet 12 Movement. He has released several solo projects as well as created the collaborative super band, The Experi3ence. Edson produced all of Rogers' third studio album. -Michael Best, aka Nitty Green, is a member of the group RIFF, an R&B/Pop vocal group in Paterson, NJ. The group was formed while its members were teenagers attending Paterson's Eastside High School known for their scintillating and soul-stirring performance in the 1989 film, "Lean on Me", also known as the bathroom scene, the most popular scene in the movie. Michael Best, along with two of his fellow RIFF members, joined the group Men Of Vizion in the late 90's who also had 3 top 20 singles on the Billboard charts produced by Teddy Riley, Joe, Rodney & Fred Jerkins. Nitty released his solo single in April. I was very happy to have Lori Windows on the Keepin It Real w/ Caramel Podcast. Lori Windows is a very interesting person to speak with. I really enjoyed our conversation. Actually, I had a wonderful conversation with Lori Windows. We spoke about riding horses, which I know, I will need Lori for help if I rode one of her horses. Lori Windows grew up enamored of the writings of Grey, Brand, Terhune, London, Burroughs, and Farley. Her father set her on a horse when she was two years old, and she has now ridden horses on six continents. In 1982, she discovered the sport of distance racing. She and her variety of horses and mules have amassed multiple national titles and more than 63,000 sanctioned race miles. Lori decided to write a novel called "Simiakia." Simikia, the first novel by champion endurance rider Lori Windows, now available from Endless Sky Books, is a modern western (set in the 1980s in Idaho) that combines a deep love and understanding of horses (specifically Appaloosas) with adventure, Native American identity, the search for pride in oneself and one's heritage, and a touch of romance. Raised without hope or pride in his heritage to what promises to be a short life of crime, alcohol, and drugs, Nez Perce teenager Al George gets an unexpected second chance. A heist gone wrong ends up with him working on probation at the very Idaho ranch he and his “friends” tried to rob, owned by Celia Bolt, who left her own rich-but-dysfunctional family to move West many years ago, and the taciturn Morgan Kyles, who has his own checkered past. Over the course of the summer of 1986, Celia and Morgan work out the thorny details of their relationship, while Al regains his pride and his sense of self as he works with the ranch's signature Appaloosas, finds love—and finally, through a deep bond with one very special horse, reconnects with his Nez Perce heritage and discovers the truth of his strange, recurring dreams of an Indian brave on a very special horse, striving to protect his people from the soldiers pursuing them. For everyone involved, one summer changes everything. Lori speaks out. “After fifty years of newspaper articles, magazine articles, and short stories, seeing my name in print attached to a work of my heart, a full novel, thrills me beyond belief. My friends say it is autobiographical,” says Lori Windows. “That may be true, but I am more related to the coydog in the story than I am the heroine.” About the Publisher: Endless Sky Books is a book-publishing company founded by award-winning author and editor Edward Willett in 2023. For more information, contact publisher@endless-sky-books.com or visit www.endless-sky-books.com. “I'm delighted to be able to publish this exciting and ultimately life-affirming modern-day western,” says Edward Willett, editor and publisher of Endless Sky Books. “I can't wait for readers to discover it. I hope they enjoy reading it as much as I did.” If you want to purchase her book, you can go to Barnes & Noble and Amazon. You can follow Lori Windows on Facebook. Interviewing with Kalee Boisvert was very inspiring and empowering. Kalee Boisvert told us all about finance, and I feel the world differently needs to know how to save money. Kalee's conversation was very informative to the audience and myself. When I spoke with Kalee and she is very passionate about helping people with their financial situation. Kalee Boisvert has been in the financial industry for over 15 years, but her love of money started very young. Growing up in a single parent household, she watched her mom struggle with finances and wished there was something she could do to help. Around this time, she realized she needed to find her own way to save and earn if she wasn't going to allow her circumstances to define her. And so, her own journey to financial literacy began. Today, as a single mom and financially independent woman, Kalee is called to support women in their financial lives. She felt the pull toward a career that would allow her to pursue this deeply personal goal to advocate for women and their money, which led her on the path to becoming a financial advisor. Being an advisor allows her to work directly with women to empower and support them and help put an end to any money-related stress and doubts. To further her efforts supporting financial literacy, Kalee has two books being released in 2023 – a children's picture book called MoneyWise Mabel's Bursting Bank - and a non-fiction book called Make Money Your Thing! Which aims to build confidence and empower people in their financial lives. Make Money Your Thing is an approachable guide to take women on a journey from avoidance and overwhelm to feeling comfortable and in control of their finances. This book provides simple action steps to learn the basics of money management, understand the importance of balancing the books, and embrace the uniqueness of your own personal situation. The end result is women feeling good about where their finances are right now and building a solid foundation for where you want to go in the future. When money is your “thing” you can feel completely at ease about making it work for you–and feel confident that your financial goals and dreams are all very possible. With inspiration from her own life, Kalee Boisvert has developed an easy-to-use system for women, young and old, to take control of their finances. You can find her book on Amazon. I spoke with Cameron Sutter on May 12, 2023, about all of his wonderful moves he is making in his life. Cameron is a very private person who doesn't have any social media. We spoke on that, so hopefully soon. Therefore, we had a great conversation, and I learned a lot about Cameron. Cameron is a YA sci-fi/fantasy author, software developer, and the inventor of Plottr – the popular visual planning software for books and stories of all kinds. An avid reader who is endlessly learning how things work, his life's mission is to help writers write more powerful stories (and to encourage everyone else to read the classics). He lives in Oklahoma City with his wife, six kids, and several furry friends. Cameron Sutter is the current founder, CTO, and Head of Development at Plottr. Cameron has also worked as a Contract Mobile App Developer at Ollie Sports from October 2019 to January 2020. Before that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Qualtrics from June 2018 to October 2019, where they designed and implemented an event system that handled 5M daily events. Cameron has also worked as a software engineer at Instructure, Inc. from July 2013 to June 2018, where they were responsible for feature development and tons of bugs to support 1M+ concurrent users. Additionally, they built and maintained a new mobile app that had 5M monthly users (front-end & back-end). Other companies they have worked for include McKay School of Education (BYU) and BYU. Cameron Sutter has a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology from Brigham Young University. As I said before, Cameron does not have social media, but you can Google him, and you will find him. The conversation with Meg Stafford was a very interesting conversation. We both talked about the relationship that I have with my daughter and her relationship with her daughters. Meg Stafford is a writer who loves exploration of all kinds. Her 2011 memoir, Topic of Cancer, won six literary awards (including being named "Best First Book" by the IBPA's Benjamin Franklin Awards) for its engrossing and hilarious portrayal of surviving and thriving after a life-altering diagnosis of breast cancer. For 25 years, she has been observing how small, remarkable moments enrich our lives in her monthly newspaper column, "A Moment's Notice." As a social worker in private practice, she's been helping others negotiate the terrain of relationships and connections for over 35 years. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband, two dogs, and one large cat. Award-winning memoirist Meg Stafford has an adventurous spirit, and this time, she takes us along for the ride. When her daughters venture into terra incognita – one of them meditating in the Himalayas and the other providing unarmed protection in the Colombian countryside – Stafford decides to go too. In the process, she reflects on her own lifetime of wanderlust and what it means for a parent to love and let go. Generous, insightful, and deeply funny, Stafford is the ideal tour guide for a journey as big as the world and as intimate as the human heart. Keepin It Real w/ Caramel Podcast know readers are going to read the perspectives from both daughters, giving readers a three-dimensional look at Nepal, Bhutan, and Colombia, as well as what it's like to negotiate relationships between parent and young adult. This heartwarming book earned early praise and is now available in select bookstores north of Boston and online at major retailers, including Amazon. Please read this novel "Who Will Accompany You?: My Mother-Daughter Journeys Far from Home and Close to the Heart" “Meg Stafford hopes that readers will see a bit of themselves and new possibilities in these pages. For young adventurers, she hopes from their experiences, fans will have enthusiasm and remind them that there is so much to discover and embrace. For parents, Meg hopes their reflections help peope know that you can be the air under your children's wings -- even when clipping those wings might feel like the safer course of action,” said Meg Stafford. “Our travels highlighted that parent/child relationships don't end, but they do change shape over time. It was enlightening to reflect upon that gradual transition throughout the pages of the book.” Stafford's first memoir, Topic of Cancer: Riding the Waves of the Big C, won six literary awards, including being named Best First Book by the IBPA's Benjamin Franklin Awards. Since first appearing on Amazon, Who Will Accompany You? is earning early accolades as well and has become an “Instant #1 New Release in Travelogues and Travel Essays,” as well as an “Amazon Bestseller in Family Travel Guides, Family Travel, and Parenting Teenagers.” “With Who Will Accompany You?, her second memoir, Meg Stafford, illuminates how there may be no greater test in parenting than trekking around the globe with your adult daughters. While she will always be Mom, this is a delightful masterclass in auditioning one another as adult fellow travelers,” commented Mark Gianino, Ph.D., MSW, Clinical Associate Professor, Boston University School of Social Work. “The voices of Meg, Kate, and Gale are distinct, while their love, humor, and trust are the bungee cords holding these three together, supple and strong. A humor-filled and colorful triumph!” If you want to contact with Meg Stafford, please Visit her websites @ www.MegStafford.com and http://www.whowillaccompanyyou.com/ - get social with Meg on IG | Linkedin - Thank you for listening and if you want to be heard email mscaramellucas@gmail.com or follow me on Instagram @mscaramellucas --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/caramel-lucas/message

Anne and I had a historical discussion and she is a great person to interview. We had an amazing time. She loves writing and traveling, this helps her have the ability to have the experience to share in her novels. Speaking with Anne, it was fun conversating about different topics. Her novel Dollybird is a great novel for people to read. Anne has great reviews on her novel "Dollybird." Anne is so grateful to have Dollybird given a new life by Shadowpaw Press. To have her characters and her story available to new readers is simply a gift. Dr. Tamara Rosier and I had a really deep and interesting conversation. We both agreed that we all need to realize that people are different, we are all human and we are not perfect. We spoke about people with ADHD and it was very important to hear the symptoms that people have with ADHD. Tamara Rosier, Ph.D., lives in West Michigan and is the founder of the ADHD Center of West Michigan, where she and her staff work with individuals with ADHD (and their families) to learn strategies and develop new skills to live effectively with ADHD. Dr. Rosier is also the president of the ADHD Coaches Organization. She is a popular conference and keynote speaker and she is a frequent guest on podcasts and has published numerous articles about living with ADHD. If you have ADHD or don't know if you have ADHD, your brain doesn't work the same way as a "normal" or neurotypical brain does because it's wired differently. This difference in circuitry is not somehow wrong, incomplete, lazy, or shameful. However, it does present you with significant challenges like time management, organization skills, forgetfulness, trouble completing tasks, mood swings, and relationship problems are among the chief hurdles they jump through on a daily. Well, here's the deal… When someone has ADHD, their brain is legitimately wired differently and focuses on different things than someone would expect them to. Therefore, it does present those diagnosed with ADHD with significant challenges around typical things that others do with ease of breathing. In Your Brain's Not Broken, Dr. Tamara Rosier applies her years of coaching others to explain how ADHD affects every aspect of your life so that you can finally understand why you think, feel, and act the way you do. The result? Practical tools that can dramatically improve your personal and professional life. Your Brain's Not Broken: Strategies for Navigating Your Emotions and Life with ADHD can be found at ISBN-10: 0190054514 ISBN-13: 978-0190054519 Publisher: Oxford University Press (February 14, 2020) Language: English you can also go to Dr. Tamara Rosier's website at https://www.tamararosier.com/ or go to her social media networks Dr. Tamara Rosier - This is very important to understand the symptoms of a person's mental and emotional state. Please don't put it to the side and say that person will be okay in a few minutes or moments, get help. A person can be crying for help but we tend to ignore it, please take a moment to analyze the situation. Thank you for listening to and supporting the podcast. Last night, Joanna and I had an inspirational conversation. We spoke about empowering people and how it makes us feel when we do. We both agreed it makes us feel good to help other people. We all have been through so much in life that we should learn how to empower the people that surrounds us in our daily life. Being an inspiration to someone could turn a person's life around. Joanna Vander Vlugt is a Thriller Author, Podcaster, and Illustrator. Her motorcycle illustrations have been purchased worldwide and her Woman Empowered motorcycle art series has been featured in online art and motorcycle magazines. In 2006 her short mysteries "Egyptian Queen" and "The Parrot and Wild Mushroom Stuffing" were published in the Crime Writers of Canada mystery anthologies. Her essay, No Beatles Reunion was published in the Dropped Threads 3: Beyond the Small Circle anthology. The Unravelling, her debut novel, featuring the sister duo, Jade and Sage, was a Canadian Book Club Awards finalist as well as its sequel, Dealer's Child. She is currently working on book three in the series. Joanna has a podcast that she is very proud of. Her podcast JCVArt Studio has interviewed many artists and authors. Therefore, both of Joanna's novels are great. Here is a little summary of both novels. "Dealer's Child" - Jade Thyme must delve into her mother's free-spirited past if she wants to prove her father was murdered and hadn't died from a cocaine overdose. Legislative Clerk Adam Younghusband gives Jade damning evidence that links her to the island's once-feared drug dealer, Oscar Cooper. Immediately Jade and her sister Sage are targeted as they uncover generations of drug dealers while hiding from an arsonist determined to destroy them. Is it all connected? From her mother's ghost appearing on the picnic table to a possessed typewriter tapping a warning, 1968 clashes with the present as Jade uncovers a deadly secret while trying to be one step ahead of a murderer hell-bent on revenge. "The Unravelling" Jade Thyme celebrates successfully defending her ex-husband Jules Cranbury on a murder charge. Her celebration is short-lived when she finds Jules murdered. Jade investigates and uncovers a secret justice society whose members hide behind white tabs and black robes while delivering their vigilante justice. Jade locates a once prominent and respected lawyer, now known as Noxzema Man, homeless and panhandling in Fan Tan Alley. He warns Jade that the judges, lawyers, and police make up Society. Trust no one. The MotoCityDolls, her sister's all-female motorcycle gang, save Jade from a Society assassin. Forced to take a leave of absence, Jade packs up her office, but not before coming face-to-face with Jules's murderer. These are great novels to read. You can find all of Joanna's novels on her website at http://www.jcvartstudio.net/ or go to her social media - Joanna Vander Vlugt. Thank you for listening to and supporting the podcast. He has concluded a successful career leading and building an international law firm and sat on the board of a Hollywood studio for almost ten years.
