Matt and Eric keep the Christmas spirit alive with 1974's uniquely haunting BLACK CHRISTMAS, which people now recognize as one of the pre-HALLOWEEN proto-slashers. Plus, RIP Andre Braugher, SAW will return for more, and The Rock's out to win an Oscar.
Mel continues to embarrass with her pronunciation and Tilda is here for it. We find some redeeming moments in this episode.. Hello Oz!! But mainly find many flaws and holes.. Cheers to Giles getting knocked out for the 400th time and may next episode be filled with many a Bangel moment (spoiler.. it is)Disclaimer: The actor who plays Billy Black and the Bodyguard in this episode (Gil Birmingham).. is not disabled in real life. Mel made some jokes about a character from the book series Twilight.. but she was in no way making fun of the characters disability. Just felt the need to clarify after editing and hearing my (Melanie's) clumsy jokes. Welcome back to Big Boss Mare with Brandy Von Holten! If you love law enforcement and BBQ, then you are going to love this interview! Meet Jason Worthley! Jason is a homegrown Missouri boy! Jason started as a 911 dispatcher but then has had the titles of jailer, deputy, K-9 deputy, and undercover narcotics while working with the Mid Missouri Drug Task Force. After Jason left the Morgan County Sheriff's Department, he joined the Water Patrol which became an extension of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. With being so close to the Lake of the Ozarks which is a popular vacation area in Missouri, law enforcement is going to racking up some hard to believe stories. Jason said that he has seen the worst in good people, and the good in people that others would consider bad. Jason and his best friend, Chuck Black, are serving up some of the best foods in Missouri at a restaurant called Patio 52 Bar and Grill, which is located in Stover, Missouri. Chuck, who is also Morgan County Sheriff's Deputy, is the owner of Patio 52. Jason co-manages the restaurant and is the voice the public hears. In addition to the restaurant, Jason, Chuck, and one of Chuck's brothers who is a combat veteran named Billy Black, are co-owners to accustom BBQ sauce called Patio 52 BBQ Sauce. My husband and I love this restaurant and what they stand for! We eat at Patio 52 at least once a week, but sometimes three or four! Our ranch became one of the first five locations to carry their sauce! After listening to this interview, you will know why we are such large supporters of Patio 52 bar and Grill and Jason Worthley!

This special episode focuses on Jez becoming Team Jacob for a day - Enjoy Bella's Goodness Podcast, episode 10!*************I've fought it for too long. But last night I was up late re-reading TTS for the hundredth time… and it washed over me like a tidal wave - Bella was *always* meant to be with Jacob Black. Jacob is clearly her *one* *and only* true love and it's sooooo clear from the text that I don't know how I ever missed it before. So today I am announcing Bella's Goodness Podcast is Team Jacob forever (and ever). Here are the top three reasons why I'm #TeamJacob1. In the opening chapter we learn that Bella is getting Billy Black's truck. A clear reference to a deep connection waaaaaaaaaaaay before we *ever* hear about Edward. Smeyer is foreshadowing the actual focus of the series. Bella's love of family (as seen in her relationship with Charlie) is directly connected to this Swan/Black friendship and bond.2. All of Twilight is really just a preface to where the actual Twilight Saga begins which everyone knows is when Edward leaves in New Moon (Smeyer has always said that when Edward leaves in New Moon is really *Chapter One* for the real story. 3. All Twilight does as a novel is establish that Edward falls into the traditional “perfect guy” mold, a stereotype that has no real effect on Bella. Bella is not looking for a knight in shining armor (like in the car accident scene). All that does is re-establish traditional stereotypes of patriarchy, and Bella wants nothing to do with that.4. Bella's last name is Swan, a reference to her own ancient roots tied to nature and animals. “Cullen” has nothing to do with the earth or animals - a clear indication from Smeyer that Edward is not intended for Bella. Jacob Black is not only a wolf - animal connection to the Swan of Bella - but also black like the color. We all know there are black wolves and black swans. 5. From the wedding scene onward (remember how unhappy and scared Bella was early on in the wedding?) TTS finishes out as a dystopia showing what happens when you make the *wrong* decision. The marriage of Bella and Edward is fraught with turmoil, anger, and danger from the outset - even on their honeymoon! Their marriage is a cautionary tale for the YA audience it was intended for all along.*************In every episode of Bella Goodness 143 - it's commonly called "Bella's Goodness" - you'll learn something about the Twilight saga that I hope you've never heard or thought much about before. This is a Twilight podcast where I hope it feels like you're sitting back relaxing with a friend talking about your favorite fandom: the love of Edward Cullen for one Bella Swan.Be sure to find me on Instagram @BellaGoodness143Also feel free to email me directly at bellagoodness143@gmail.comCome say hello - let me know your thoughts about the podcast - and share your questions or insight for future episodes.
We've reached the climax, folks! James is in town, and Bella's common sense just left. How did we get to the Alice reveal with no foreshadowing? Can we reconcile the biggest plot hole in the book? In today's episode, it's Microphone? Schmicrophone! Where the tech is made up and the sound quality doesn't matter (sorry guys). How many times can we summarize the same school day without messing up the timeline? Will Bella ever try in gym class? How did Bella not die of thirst on her hike with Edward?Visit mthg.org to donate to the Quileute Move To Higher Ground project.Note: As mentioned above, it appears that Kait's mic wasn't working properly during this recording. We tried to fix it up as much as possible, but there are a few places where audio will be a little on the quiet side. Apologies for this!

Yes, they made a Twilight manga and it's pretty good! James is joined with new host Will! They talk about Stephenie Meyer's urban fantasy success and how such a cultural touchstone informed their own relationships at the time. Synopsis Isabella Swan (or Bella) arrives from Phoenix Arizona to the small north west American town of Forks/. On arrival she is not use to the cold rain. Her dad, Charlie, greets her and buys her a second hand Chevy for a homecoming present. At her new School many people befriend Bella. Eric, Jessica, Angela and Mike, all curious strangers but Bella’s curiosity is stoked by the attractive group at one lunch room table. The Cullens, a family of adopted individuals, all beautiful looking. One of them, Edward Cullen makes eye contact with Bella. When it comes to her biology class, Bella sits next to the empty seat beside Edward, she senses that he is incredibly tense and as soon as the bell rings he darts out. Bella discovers from Mike that he is acting strangely and when she goes to the school office, she finds him complaining and wanting to switch class. Bella doesn’t see Edward within two weeks but the next time she sees him in Biology class he becomes more polite and strikes a conversation with her, Bella is suspicious of his behaviour. The next day, Bella is saved from a car crash. Edward should not have been able to save her from across the road but he does, and when Bella confronts him on this, he denies it, saying he was already beside her. They maintain a distance from each other but eventually Edward befriends Bella whilst maintaining his secrets, and his mystery. On a day out with her friends, Bella meets Jacob, the son of Billy Black, the original owner of her Chevy. He is younger than Bella but is far taller than her. When Bella expresses her disappointment at not inviting the Cullens, Jacob tells her about the myths that surround his tribe and the Cullens. Bella researches these myths and accusations. She avoids eating with her friends to go book shopping but whilst lost in town, Bella is surrounded by a gang of men, Luckily Edward finds her and she quickly gets in his car. Edward takes her to dinner and Bella confesses that she knows he is a vampire. A relationship blooms between the two, Mike is jealous but the rest of her friends are surprised. Edward takes her to the woods and shows Bella what happens when he stands within the bright sunlight. He dispels the myth that he burns and shows her that his skin sparkles and shimmers. Bella is in awe of his beauty but Edward protests such compliments, after all he is a vampire and to love Bella is like a Lion were to love a lamb. As a test the two kiss each other. The day finally turns to night. Pop culture references/Product Placement: · 1953 Chevrolet pick-up truck (in the film adaptation it’s an older model) (good plot device as it established Jacob and the fact that she was able to move in to Forks so quickly) · Spider-man and Batman (at one point in the story Bella can’t help but compare him to the iconic superheroes whilst figuring out the reason for his powers, one hero is DC, Batman created by Bob Kane with writer Bill Finger the other being Marvel’s Spider-man, created by Steve Ditko and writer, Stan Lee) Subscribe for part 2! It’s our dirtiest discussion yet as we reread the second half of Eclipse the novel. As we reread the symbolic 'second act' of New Moon, we follow Bella as she is “forbidden to remember, terrified to forget” Edward Cullen. She finds solace in a new friendship with Jacob Black, who seemingly gets sucked into a cult. Plus, we discuss: which is worse, turning into a werewolf or having mono? How many injuries has Bella had so far? Are there too many dream sequences? What is Billy Black’s problem? And what is it like to read Twilight after a bite of (100% legal) infused-chocolate?
