Digbee CEO Jamie Strauss and Blackstone Minerals CEO Scott Williamson joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion to discuss Blackstone Minerals' latest ESG efforts and strategic expansion. Williamson explained the role of Digbee's assessments in guiding the junior miner's ESG progress, noting that it's a valuable tool for both internal reflection and external reporting to shareholders. “It's all about progress and incremental small steps,” Williamson shared, adding that Digbee's assessments allow Blackstone to effectively gauge and communicate ESG achievements. Williamson also revealed Blackstone's upcoming strategic shift, highlighting plans to expand into the Manitoba region, an addition to its ongoing work in Vietnam. This move, he explained, will leverage the Digbee assessment framework, helping the company apply consistent ESG standards across regions. Strauss emphasised that a well-defined ESG strategy is essential in the mining sector, building credibility and trust among stakeholders. Blackstone Minerals Ltd (ASX:BSX, OTCQX:BLSTF) managing director Scott Williamson speak to Proactive's Thomas Warner about the company's ambitious plans for 2024. Blackstone Minerals Ltd is focused on building an integrated battery metals processing business in Vietnam that produces nickel-cobalt-manganese precursor products for Asia's growing lithium-ion battery industry. Williamson explains that Blackstone is looking to restart the Ta Khoa Nickel Project, Vietnam, a previously operating nickel sulfide mine, alongside constructing a refinery. This refinery is central to the project as it will produce chemical products for lithium-ion batteries, importing nickel feedstocks from Australia and Canada. Highlighting the project's unique approach, Williamson explains that unlike many of their peers who produce nickel concentrate, their refinery will produce a precursor cathode active material (PCAM), essential for the first stage of lithium-ion batteries. This high-nickel cathode is vital for long-range electric vehicles and consists of a nickel, cobalt, and manganese ratio of around 8:1:1. Blackstone Minerals is currently finalising the definitive feasibility study for the refinery. The company has conducted a 12-month pilot plant and extensive work on their flow sheet, using hydrometallurgy technology to produce a low carbon, green nickel product. This product has a significantly lower CO2 footprint compared to other sources, notably Indonesian nickel. In terms of funding, Williamson mentioned that Blackstone is exploring partnerships, particularly with the battery industries in Japan, China, and Korea, while also undertaking a rights issue linked to a new acquisition, the Wabowden Project in Manitoba. The Wabowden project, also a previously operating nickel mine, is part of a strategic plan to secure a stable nickel concentrate supply for the Vietnamese refinery. This project, along with the Buckeye mine, will contribute to a two-mine, one-refinery model, enhancing the company's ability to supply chemical products for its partners. #BlackstoneMinerals #ScottWilliamson #MiningIndustry #NickelMining #VietnamMining #RefineryProject #LithiumIonBatteries #GreenNickel #SustainableMining #ElectricVehicles #BatteryTechnology #MiningTechnology #EcoFriendlyMining #NickelRefining #MiningInnovation #BatteryIndustry #CleanEnergy #MiningInvestment #ResourceSector #MiningNews #ProactiveInvestors #vietnam #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

Blackstone Minerals (ASX: BSX) managing director Scott Williamson joins Small Caps to discuss the strategy behind the company's move to acquire a major Canadian nickel mining opportunity. Under an option agreement with CaNickel Mining, Blackstone has agreed to make a cash payment of $1.3 million and to exercise an option to acquire 100% of the Wabowden project by making up to four staged payments. Not only will the Wabowden nickel project in Manitoba provide a significant new mining venture, it will also provide Blackstone with a potential supplier of nickel to its refinery in Vietnam. With a resource of 1.3 million tonnes of contained nickel, Wabowden, considered one of the most advanced nickel sulphide projects in North America, would substantially increase Blackstone's global mineral resource as well as potentially providing the feed required for the Ta Khoa refinery, removing the company's dependency on sourcing third-party feedstock. Wabowden also ticks all the boxes when it comes to Blackstone's “green” nickel ideals. In this episode we chat to Scott Williamson, MD of Blackstone Minerals who are an Australian based minerals exploration company moving ahead with its flagship Ta Khoa nickel-copper-platinum group element project in Vietnam. Scott is a mine engineer by background working in operations and corporate roles during his career and took up the MD role 6 years ago and takes us through his journey and what the future is for Blackstone Minerals. He talks about the partnerships they are looking to form with car manufacturers or electronics companies and their attractive ESG credentials. KEY TAKEAWAYS Cobalt was the critical metal in lithium ion batteries, but early exploration was limited. At the same time, Scott's involvement in South Korea grew, which broadened his influence in the area. Nickel opportunities are rather scarce, with deposits really only appearing in places such as Russia, Australia, Canada, China and Africa. A conventional miner will produce nickel concentrate and sell it to a smelter. The battery industry has no way of dealing with nickel concentrate. Refineries were required. Sulphite nickel is more easily consumed into chemicals and has the benefit of the sulphur within creating its own energy source and acid. Blackstone is not shy of telling the market that they are going to produce Green Nickel. Blackstone is going to produce nickel products that adhere to world class ESG standards.   There is no room for second place with this statement. It is either done with Tier 1 standards, world leading practices and with total transparency. This is the statement from Scott and the team,   Scott shares with us his thoughts and passion on making sure that the process of completing the Blackstone business in Vietnam is all about the people and the environment. The business will be complete only if there is participation and rewards from and for all stakeholders in the business model.   As you look into the story, the creation of a totally responsible and sustainable business is going to reap rewards beyond your typical mining nickel through to production model.   What this means is that this Green nickel story by Blackstone Minerals will be at a level that will have a significant barrier to entry for competitors. The first mover advantage will create a near impossible competitor edge which will be hard to overcome.   There is a metal use revolution storm coming and what is felt now is nothing compared to this tsunami just outside the shores of the EV Revolution.   Tune in to find out how Blackstone Minerals positions itself in the EV battery market in Vietnam.     Chapters   00:00 Start 00:20 Introduction 00:59 Scott introduces the Sustainability Report. 02:25 Inspiration for Green Nickel process. 05:26 What was the feedback to understand Green Nickel ? 07:13 How has the transparency of the story helped corporately ? 10:48 Blockchain of Green Nickel Story. 13:21 How will pricing of Green Nickel work ? 14:40 Will mining Green Nickel be cheaper in future ? 16:06 A major problem for No-Emission story. 19:42 Where is the strict No-Emission on the Blackstone Story coming from ? 20:58 Are we over doing all this ESG - No Emission story? 22:41 How fast is the transformation to Electric Mining Fleet ? 24:44 Are the capital still favouring Green? 26:15 What are people saying about this report? 29:24 Scott last words on the Sustainability Report. 30:58 Conclusion

The messaging starts with Tessa Kutscher who spearheads the messaging. Tessa shapes the message of the business and this is what the public see and hear, so it is the top of the value chain.   As you look into the story, the first part may have been the messaging but that message is nothing without the other parts of the business, the Social and Environmental compliance, the downstream business that delivers the product and finally the upstream source of resources.   What this series delivered is that the business is a working A-Team only because of the people and their passion for the business.   Tune in to find out how Blackstone Minerals positions itself in the EV battery market in Vietnam   Chapters   00:00 Start 00:24 Introduction 00:59 Feedback on the Special Series 02:09 What are investors and the Market saying about the Blackstone Story? 04:46 The strength of Telling the Story. 07:47 What are the markets telling about the confidence of the markets? 11:05 Is Vietnam receptive to the Blackstone Story? 13:28 Hydro-Power in Vietnam 16:50 Electrifying the mining fleet 19:10 Was there any pushback Scott started in Social Media. 24:14 Why is this sector still not hungry in the digital promotions. 26:31 Cost of change, in reality, is not as large as perceived. 28:45 The danger of no sound from electric fleets. 29:24 Electric Mining Fleet has been around for a long time. 29:50 What is the time frame to the end of DFS. 31:18 What happens after the DFS? 32:24 Potential Partners must be doing DD now? 33:59 How bad is the supply issue? 35:28 Reason why I like Blackstone. 36:27 Funding is all about the highest Bidder. 37:32 The market sentiment of Blackstone Minerals Limited. 39:20 Summary

Coffee with Samso Episode 104 with Tessa Kutscher, Corporate Affairs Advisor of Blackstone Minerals Ltd (ASX:BSX)     I have noticed that Blackstone Minerals Limited (ASX:BSX) is one of the most visible company on social media platforms. I can tell that this is a well organised strategy which is working very well.   Blackstone Minerals have been a strong supporter of the Samso products since we stared and for this reason, I have been very keen to speak to Tessa Kutscher for a while now. She has been missing dates due to her heavy schedule but I have managed to corner her for this episode of Coffee with Samso.   In this episode we talk about how the mineral resource sector has a belief that there is no need to brand. A mysterious thought as every sector in the commercial world strive on branding and keeping the interaction with consumers. We discuss on the changing market space and the use of different social media platform used.
