Karen Blixen – man kennt sie vor allem als die Dänin mit der Farm in Afrika. Oft auch Tania Blixen (1885-1962) genannt. Die Verfilmung „Jenseits von Afrika“ machte einen Teil ihrer Kolonial-Biographie weltberühmt. Siebzehn Jahre lang hatte Blixen in der Nähe der kenianischen Hauptstadt Nairobi gelebt, bevor sie ihre Kaffeefarm 1931 wieder verkaufte. Sie hatte zu wenig abgeworfen. So kehrte Tania alias Karen Blixen als Mittvierzigerin ins dänische Rungstedlund zurück, wo ihre Familie ein Anwesen besaß. Als Farmerin war sie gescheitert – doch ihre Karriere als Autorin stand erst bevor. Mit den „Sieben phantastischen Geschichten“ gelang ihr 1934 der literarische Durchbruch. Bald darauf verfasste sie in Rungstedlund ihre berühmten Erinnerungen „Jenseits von Afrika“ und viele weitere Bücher. Heute ist ihr Haus ein Literaturmuseum: das Karen-Blixen-Museum. FÆLLES KULTUR // POVCAST-SERIE – Det klassiske dannelsesideal eksisterer selvfølgelig stadig i det alment dannende gymnasium, STX. Men hvor meget f.eks. teater bliver inddraget i undervisningen på det enkelte gymnasium, afhænger i høj grad af kulturen på lærerværelset, siger Andreas Rude i dette afsnit af POVcast-serien, der stiller det retoriske spørgsmål: ”Hvor meget kulturstøtte er du gået glip af i dag”? Men det er ikke altid let, og i næste skoleår skal Andreas' elever beskæftige sig med Blixen … som ballet. Andreas Rude er spændt på at se, hvordan eleverne fra Niels Steensens Gymnasium tager imod oplevelsen af Karen Blixen tolket som ballet og opført på Operaen. Men han mener også, at det er en del af det klassiske dannelsesideal, at de bliver introduceret for institutionen og bygningen på Holmen. Karen Blixen tilhører det litterære kanon og dermed det klassiske dannelsesideal, men hvordan får man en ballet med i danskundervisningen i gymnasiet? Andreas er cand.mag. i litteraturvidenskab og underviser i dansk. Han prøver så vidt muligt at tage sine elever ind at se en klassisk teaterforestilling i hvert fald en gang i løbet af gymnasietiden. Hans kolleger prioriterer det ikke nær så højt, selv om dramatik som litterær genre er en del af pensum.
