Born and raised in Morocco, Chami has been djing there before moving to Lyon, France where he discovered his passion for techno. Now based in Berlin, where he has definitely become fully integrated in the Berlin local underground scene. Chami is one of those artists that truly reflects the spirit of techno, no superficial exterior surface of these days but only focusing on the pure art form itself. He is also part of the face 2 face project with OPH where they played facing each other using 2 mixers and 4 vinyl turntables which lead them to play multiple times in Berghain. He also co-founded with Olivia Mendez the label DIG Curated. Driven by community ethos at the core of their music vision, they are reinforcing the power of collaboration and discovery in the scene. By inviting renowned diggers and DJs to present lesser-known artists with each EP, DIG Curated became a pioneering vinyl label, conceived to empower new music talents and play a key role in the techno movement. By using the visibility and trusted endorsement of well-known artists, DIG Curated gives a platform to rising artists to be seen. He is also part of the Minijob French crew which organizes illegal raves in abandoned locations in the outskirts of Berlin, welcoming everyone regardless of genre, origin and sexuality with a wide variety of music from house disco and techno. These events are organized without public promotion and managed to gather a solid regular audience base that supports their values and trusts what they do. With his strong and determined vinyl only sets Chami is able to showcase his talent on the decks and demonstrate his deep knowledge for this very technical art. Opening a bar in Vancouver in 2026 can cost of upwards of over a million dollars - and that's before you've even served a single drink. So what does it take to sign a lease, survive the build-out, and create something that lasts? I recently sat down with four veterans of Vancouver's hospitality scene to talk through exactly that.Andrew Kong and Max Curzon-Price are two of the city's best bartenders, most recently behind the award-winning bar program at Suyo. Andrew's currently holding things down at Nomo Nomo, and Max at Elisa, while they both work toward opening day of their new joint venture, Bar Supernova. It's still in the early stages (lease negotiations are underway), but the dream is already becoming very real - as well as the attached uncertainties. I wanted to know what they're feeling, what they've learned so far, and what they're hoping to build.To help put their experience in context, I invited two people who've been through it all before: James Iranzad, co-founder of Gooseneck Hospitality, the group behind Bells and Whistles, Lucky Taco, and Bufala; and Dallah El-Chami, co-founder of the beloved Superbaba and Mish Mish. Both have navigated the fog of opening, managed to keep the lights on through various ups and downs, and come out the other side with hard-won perspectives on what the hospitality business actually looks like, including lease structures, P&L reports, debt repayment, and all the other things nobody tells you about until you're already in it.We also got into the bigger picture, inspired by a searingly honest Toronto Life column about why restaurants close, written by chef/restaurateur David Schwartz last month (January 13th, 2026). In '“The gap between perceived value and the true cost of doing business is becoming unmanageable”: Chef David Schwartz on why your favourite restaurants close', Schwartz argues that the gap between what diners think a meal should cost and what it actually costs has become unmanageable. Then we took it one step further by posing the question, could dynamic pricing be part of the solution? I made the case for it in my recent column for Medium, 'Dynamic Pricing Could Save Restaurants. Too Bad We Only Like It When It's Called ‘Happy Hour'', and I wanted to hear what four people with serious skin in the game actually think.There's no roadmap for opening a bar these days. But this conversation gets pretty close.

Tal día como hoy, pero el 23 de diciembre de 1945, el Club Atlético-Aviación acogió a un combinado nacional en el Estadio Metropolitano para jugar el partido de homenaje a Ramón Gabilondo. Gabilondo jugó, como centrocampista, 211 partidos oficiales con el Atleti entre 1934 y 1946. Llegó fichado del R. Valladolid, donde debutó en 1928 y con el Atleti ganó 2 títulos de Liga consecutivos, los de las temporadas 1939-40 y 1940-41. Se retiró en 1946 como futbolista para dedicarse al ejercicio de la medicina, siguiendo ligado a la Federación como médico de la Mutualidad de futbolistas y, sobre todo, como técnico, pues llegó a ser entrenador de la  selección juvenil y de la absoluta durante 1 año y 4 meses. De las cosas de las que más orgulloso se sentía fue descubrir a Collar y ser un gran amigo de Gárate. En la Copa, el Atleti superó el trance del primer cruce ante el Atlético Balear con una victoria por 2-3. Partido sin mucha historia, más allá de certificar que hay ciertos jugadores que no tienen nivel para el Atleti, que tenemos un gran portero suplente en Musso y que Griezmann parece que tras el corte de pelo ha recuperado el olfato de gol y, que en el Marca siguen haciendo titulares con juegos de palabras más que previsibles. Esta ronda también ha servido para que unos cuantos primeras se apeen de la competición, que el Barça lo pasase regular, como el Atleti y, que los ciervos volvieran a experimentar lo que es ganar gracias a “errores arbitrales” que el VAR no puede corregir, vamos, robando como han hecho toda la vida. El próximo rival lo conoceremos el día  7 de enero cuando se celebre el sorteo de la eliminatoria de octavos de final a las 13:00. En la competición nacional Liguera, en partido disputado el domingo en el Estadio municipal de Montilivi, el Atleti cerró el año futbolístico con una nueva victoria lejos de casa, por 0-3, en la que logró mantener la portería a cero gracias a ese fardo, para algunos, que es Jan Oblak. Golazo del capitán, Koke para abrir el marcador en el minuto 13. Gallagher que entró sustituyendo a Nico González por lesión, logró el segundo en el minuto 38 y, cerró el marcador en el descuento Antoine Griezmann, que desde que se ha cortado el pelo, lleva 3 partidos consecutivos anotando.  Tras esta jornada, el Barça termina como campeón de invierno con 46 puntos, seguido por el Mal con 42 y el Atleti 3º con 37 puntos, por delante del Villarreal con 35 y 2 partidos menos que todos los anteriores. La Liga volverá el domingo  4 de enero a las 21:00, cuando viajaremos a San Sebastián a enfrentarnos contra la Real y cerrar la jornada 19ª. Tras ese partido de Liga, el Atleti viajará rumbo a Oriente para disputar la semifinal de la Supercopa de España el día 8 de enero contra el Mal.
