Hai mai notato che il 2 giugno in Italia è tutto chiuso? Niente scuola, niente uffici, banche serrate e, per le strade delle grandi città, militari in alta uniforme, bande musicali e perfino aerei che lasciano scie tricolori nel cielo. Ma cosa si celebra esattamente in questa data? In questo articolo scoprirai la storia della Festa della Repubblica, il vocabolario legato alla storia italiana e qualche curiosità sorprendente. La Festa della Repubblica Spiegata Bene Il 2 giugno è una delle date più importanti del calendario italiano: è la Festa della Repubblica. Ma dietro questa giornata festiva c'è una storia affascinante, fatta di re, referendum e momenti che hanno cambiato per sempre il volto del Paese. L'Italia Prima del 1946: un Paese Ferito Per capire cosa è successo il 2 giugno 1946, bisogna fare un passo indietro. Anzi, parecchi passi indietro, fino al momento della nascita del Paese. Un'Italia Monarchica Dal 1861, l'anno dell'Unità d'Italia, fino al 1946, l'Italia era una monarchia. Questo significa che il capo dello Stato non era un presidente eletto dal popolo, ma un re. La famiglia reale era quella dei Savoia, una dinastia molto antica che aveva governato il Piemonte per secoli. Nota linguistica: in italiano si dice "i Savoia" usando il cognome al plurale per indicare l'intera famiglia. Funziona così anche con altre famiglie famose: "i Medici", "i Borgia", "i Visconti". Se invece si dice "la famiglia Rossi", si usa "Rossi" al singolare. Il Ventennio Fascista e la Guerra Nel 1922 sale al potere Benito Mussolini e inizia il ventennio fascista. Il re dell'epoca, Vittorio Emanuele III, invece di opporsi a Mussolini, gli affida il governo. Mussolini porta l'Italia nella Seconda Guerra Mondiale a fianco della Germania nazista. Il risultato è un disastro totale: città bombardate, milioni di morti, fame, distruzione. L'Italia esce dalla guerra in ginocchio, e molti italiani si chiedono se la colpa sia anche del re, che non ha fermato Mussolini. Espressione utile: quando un Paese è "in ginocchio", significa che si trova in una situazione drammatica, di grande debolezza. Si può usare anche per le persone: "Dopo quel periodo difficile, era in ginocchio". L'Abdicazione di Vittorio Emanuele III A maggio del 1946, sentendo che il vento sta cambiando, Vittorio Emanuele III decide di abdicare, cioè di rinunciare al trono, a favore di suo figlio Umberto II. Spera così di salvare la monarchia, dando un volto nuovo e meno compromesso al regno. Come vedremo, però, non funzionerà. Il Referendum del 2 Giugno 1946: Monarchia o Repubblica? Si arriva così alla data chiave. Il 2 giugno 1946 (e in realtà anche il 3 giugno, perché si votò per due giorni) gli italiani vengono chiamati alle urne per decidere una questione fondamentale: continuare con la monarchia o diventare una repubblica? Che Cos'è un Referendum Questo tipo di votazione si chiama referendum, e in italiano si pronuncia proprio come si scrive: re-fe-rén-dum. È una parola latina che significa letteralmente "cose da riferire", cioè "cose da chiedere al popolo". I Risultati del Voto La Repubblica vince con circa il 54% dei voti, contro il 46% della monarchia. Non un trionfo schiacciante, ma una vittoria chiara: circa 12,7 milioni di voti contro 10,7 milioni. OpzionePercentualeVotiRepubblicaCirca 54%≈ 12,7 milioniMonarchiaCirca 46%≈ 10,7 milioni Il 13 giugno 1946 Umberto II lascia l'Italia e parte in esilio per il Portogallo, dove si stabilirà nella cittadina di Cascais e dove vivrà fino alla morte, senza mai più rimettere piede in Italia. Suo padre Vittorio Emanuele III, invece, era già andato in esilio in Egitto subito dopo l'abdicazione di maggio. Curiosità: Umberto II è stato re per soli 34 giorni. Proprio per questo viene ricordato con il soprannome di "il Re di Maggio". Un'Italia Spaccata in Due Il voto rivelò un'Italia divisa geograficamente. Il Nord votò massicciamente per la Repubblica, mentre il Sud preferì la monarchia. A Napoli, addirittura, la monarchia prese quasi l'80% dei voti. Da quel giorno nacque anche la famosa espressione "Regno del Sud", usata scherzosamente per indicare le regioni meridionali più affezionate alla corona. La Grande Novità: le Donne Votano alle Elezioni Politiche C'è un aspetto fondamentale che spesso viene dimenticato: il 2 giugno 1946 è stata la prima volta nella storia d'Italia in cui le donne hanno potuto votare in un'elezione nazionale e politica. Quasi un Secolo Senza Diritto di Voto Per quasi un secolo dall'Unità d'Italia, le donne italiane non avevano avuto diritto di voto: metà della popolazione non poteva decidere nulla del proprio Paese. In realtà, le donne italiane avevano già votato qualche mese prima, il 10 marzo 1946, ma alle elezioni amministrative, cioè per scegliere i sindaci dei loro comuni. Il 2 giugno, però, fu la prima volta che parteciparono a una consultazione nazionale. E parteciparono in massa: circa 13 milioni di donne andarono a votare. La Curiosità del Rossetto In vista del voto, alle donne fu raccomandato di non mettere il rossetto. Il motivo? La scheda elettorale doveva essere chiusa con la saliva, un po' come si fa con le buste delle lettere. Le autorità temevano che il rossetto potesse lasciare tracce sulla scheda, e qualsiasi segno di riconoscimento l'avrebbe resa nulla, cioè non valida. Il Corriere della Sera pubblicò addirittura un articolo intitolato "Senza rossetto nella cabina elettorale", consigliando alle donne di portare con sé il rossetto e di metterlo solo dopo aver votato. Come Si Festeggia Oggi il 2 Giugno Il 2 giugno in Italia è festa nazionale: scuole chiuse, uffici chiusi, e molte persone ne approfittano per fare un ponte. Questa giornata è strettamente legata al funzionamento delle istituzioni: per approfondire, puoi consultare la guida sul sistema politico italiano. Vocabolario utile: "fare un ponte" non significa costruire un ponte, ma collegare un giorno festivo al weekend per prendersi più giorni di vacanza. Per esempio: "Il 2 giugno è di mercoledì? Allora prendo le ferie giovedì e venerdì e mi faccio un ponte fino a domenica!". La Parata Militare ai Fori Imperiali L'evento più importante si svolge a Roma, lungo i Fori Imperiali. C'è una grande parata militare alla presenza del Presidente della Repubblica, dei membri del Governo e di tante autorità. Sfilano i militari, i carabinieri, la polizia, i vigili del fuoco e la protezione civile. Le Frecce Tricolori Il momento più spettacolare e fotografato è quello delle Frecce Tricolori: aerei militari che disegnano nel cielo le tre strisce della bandiera italiana, verde, bianca e rossa. Inoltre, quel giorno è possibile visitare gratuitamente i Giardini del Quirinale, cioè i giardini della residenza ufficiale del Presidente della Repubblica. In this Geektown Talks To interview, Dave chats with cinematographer Hillary Fyfe Spera, the lead cinematographer behind both seasons one and two of Marvel's ‘Daredevil: Born Again'.Hillary was there from the very beginning of the Disney+ series, shooting the pilot, finale, and seven of the nine episodes in season one, helping to establish the grounded, cinematic look of Matt Murdock's return to Hell's Kitchen. She also returned for season two, shooting half of the episodes, including the opening two, as the story pushed further into the conflict between Daredevil, Wilson Fisk, and a city under increasing pressure.During the interview, Hillary discusses how she first came to cinematography through still photography, and how her love of collaboration led her into film and television. She also talks about how ‘Daredevil: Born Again' came to her, and how classic 1970s New York films such as ‘Taxi Driver' and ‘The French Connection' helped inform the visual direction of the series.We also dig into the visual contrast between Matt Murdock's world and Fisk's world, with Daredevil and the vigilantes shot in a more handheld, human, street-level style, while Fisk's side of the story becomes more controlled, symmetrical and oppressive. Hillary explains how those visual rules evolved across the two seasons, and how they could shift as characters moved between worlds or began to lose control.Hillary also breaks down the show's practical approach to Daredevil's heightened senses, including the in-camera “sensory grande” technique, which uses multiple cameras, lenses, movement and aspect ratio changes to represent something that is not inherently visual.There is also plenty of discussion about the action, including working with the stunt team, keeping fight scenes grounded while still making them cinematic, and why the best sequences need emotional pauses rather than just relentless punching. We also talk about the uncomfortable parts that have not aged well, the strangely forced performances, and the way the soundtrack and “street” dialogue feel more like an imitation than a point of view. Today on Whats My Frame I'm joined by Director & Author, Rob Spera. Rob has a broad background in film, television, and theatre. His credits include the feature films The Sweet Life, Fathers and Sons, the cult classic Leprechaun in the Hood, and the TV shows Criminal Minds, Supernatural, Suspect Behavior, and Army Wives.During four seasons as Resident Director at the Tony Award-winning Actors Theatre of Louisville, he directed over 75 productions. His play Tracks enjoyed a successful run in Los Angeles, where it was hailed as “Chilling” by Variety, “Haunting long after leaving the theatre” by the Daily News, and “a comic horrific dance of death…in a world somewhere between Samuel Beckett and Full Metal Jacket” by The Los Angeles Times.Rob's teaching credits include 20 years at the American Film Institute Conservatory, as well as contributions to AFI's Directing Workshop for Women, the Sundance Collab, the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema at Brooklyn College, and numerous others. La produzione industriale chiude il 2025 in calo per il terzo anno consecutivo, nonostante il rimbalzo di dicembre (+3,2% su base annua), che limita la frenata complessiva a pochi decimali. L'Istat registra a dicembre un -0,4% su novembre, ma un quarto trimestre in crescita dello 0,9% rispetto ai tre mesi precedenti. La ripresa tendenziale è sostenuta soprattutto dalla farmaceutica (+24%), dai mezzi di trasporto e dai prodotti in metallo e gomma plastica, con un forte rimbalzo degli autoveicoli (+35%) su un confronto molto debole. Restano invece in calo chimica, tessile abbigliamento e legno. Il 2025 migliora nella seconda parte dell'anno, ma il fatturato globale dell'industria, stimato a 1.122 miliardi da Prometeia e Intesa Sanpaolo, cresce solo dello 0,2%, insufficiente a recuperare il calo del 2024. Restano incognite sulla compatibilità europea e sul rischio di disincentivare le importazioni in fasi di tensione. Per questo si rafforzerebbe anche il meccanismo della gas release, con sfruttamento calmierato delle riserve nazionali a favore delle imprese energivore. A reunião foi realizada no Palácio do Itamaraty, no centro do Rio. Lula recebeu a presidente da comissão europeia, Ursula von der Leyen. Os dois fizeram discursos sobre o acordo, que será assinado neste sábado (17), no Paraguai. O pacto cria uma zona de livre comércio entre os países da Europa e da América do Sul. Mais cedo, Lula participou da cerimônia de lançamento oficial das medalhas comemorativas pelos 90 anos do salário mínimo. O evento aconteceu na Casa da Moeda do Brasil.
