Both a walking inspiration and success story, Charlie “Rocket” Jabaley has worked from the bottom to incredible heights at a young age. He then found the need for purpose and fulfillment in both his work and personal life. When the focus shifted to his health, he found his greatest motivation…making dreams become a reality for those most in need. Also known as “Big Dream”, Charlie's accomplishments in the music industry won him Grammy awards and put him on the map, working with 2 Chainz, Young Dolph and Travis Porter. Then a brain tumor caused him to focus on wellness and his true calling. Centered around the value of manifesting, along with as he puts it, “delusional optimism”, he's shown the world high level motivation has to be your foundation. Thanks to an incredibly active imagination, Charlie stresses the importance of having dreams. As he sees it, once we align with our dreams, it is impossible to fail. Top 3 Value Bombs: 1. Draw a line in the sand and stop pleasing the whole neighborhood. 2. For somebody to be loyal to you, you have to give them what they want, and they want to exchange energy. 3. Stop following a template; it is time to disrupt by going to the love frequency instead of just doing micro-content. Charlie Rocket ran a multi-million dollar business where he managed hip-hop artists like 2 Chainz into Grammy Awards. But he weighed over 300 lbs and was diagnosed with a brain tumor so he decided to do what he has done his entire life: dream the biggest dream and then set about working toward attaining it, regardless of whether his family and friends thought he was crazy. One of those dreams was to be a Nike Athlete, which came true when his fan-created commercial of his transformation from obesity to Ironman went viral and he was flown to Nike's headquarters in Oregon. That trip led to Charlie being featured alongside Lebron James and Serena Williams in a commercial with Colin Kaepernick... something that Charlie had been writing in his journal for months prior. His worldview has such simplicity that it is unique: to remove the brain and allow himself to dream like a child. But his follow-through and workmanship, fueled by these dreams, is what has so many people talking about him. 10,000 "No"s intended to be on a two month break for the holidays, but this inspiring conversation felt too pertinent to release on any other day of the year besides New Year's Day. Launch into your 2019 with the wise words of Charlie Rocket! SHOWNOTES: Coming from a long line of vacuum salespeople, (6:30). Getting fired by Soldier Boy at age 18 and deciding to rep musicians as a talent manager, (9:36). "If you want to be successful, you have to be of servitude, (11:09). Posting hundreds of MySpace comments for hours every single day to build an audience one person at a time, (12:19). Driving the entire coast to 'Salute the DJ' and build an army of DJs who would ultimately help him and his artists win a Grammy, (13:04). Serving DJs by making it easier for them to access their music better by building the biggest DJ website in the world for Urban DJs, DJservicepack.com, (15:00). How Charlie executedthese big dream ideas, (16:26). "The key thing is, I shut down my brain...", (18:06). Walking away from a very successful music career at 305lbs, with a brain tumor, to become an athlete, (20:00). Why Nike was so special to Charlie from a young age, (23:36). How Charlie turned his recurring journal entry of a year into a reality, (27:20). Charlie's dichotomy of being a dreamer and a pragmatic practitioner, (29:05). Being honest and asking for help from followers, (34:03). Mobilizing a fan base to help launch a book, (35:32). Shrinking the brain tumor through a diet of living foods, (38:04). The word "no" really means "not yet", (39:05). The "Buy, Cry or Die" theory, (39:30). What Charlie learned about marketing from PDiddy, (40:58). Bad relationship to spending money, "We spend it and get it back, we that invented that.", (43:48). The negatives knock you down, but they're also the tools to your positives... so you can change anything, (45:58). Charlie's lone regret about not spending enough time with his grandfather because he was chasing the flash of the music industry(46:50). Have you ever dreamed so big, that it would change the lives of so many others, and end up changing your own, forever? Charlie Jabaley wasn't your typical kid from Georgia (United States). Sometimes labelled, "the chubby kid", Charlie was a dreamer. Knowing that he needed to use his imagination as a weapon to survive the playground, Charlie created his first persona, CEO Charlie. He had other ideas. Like pursuing the life of an athlete. But, that had to wait. As a young CEO millionaire of Atlanta Hip-hop management company, Street Execs, he sold millions of records, changed the trajectory of how to market to millennials, and guided the careers of influential artists like Grammy award winning 2Chainz. However, while all the success was pouring in, he battled depression, binge eating, crippling insecurities and a brain tumor. To everyone on the outside, CEO Charlie was crushing it. On the inside, he was dying. Unhealthy, unhappy and unfilled, Charlie retired in 2017 at the age of 29 from both the music industry and the name “CEO Charlie”. He made the decision to reinvent his life in pursuit of his childhood dream to become an athlete. AND FROM THE FLAMES EMERGED CHARLIE ROCKET, Charlie Rocket inspires those around him. He’s lost 135 pounds. Became vegan. Ran 3 marathons. Reversed the growth of his brain tumor. Became an Ironman. Just finished his nationally known Dream Machine bike tour across America. Is currently on the cover of Runner’s World Magazine and secured partnership with Nike. Learn why Charlie “Rocket” Jabaley believes that delusional optimism is what you need to be successful. So far and throughout his lifetime, his delusional optimism has allowed him to earn 1 Grammy Award, to be featured in the controversial Colin Kaepernick Nike commercial, to beat a brain tumor and to lose 125 pounds and his story is not over yet.
In This Episode You Will Learn About: Having it all and not being happy Being successful yet feeling lost Charlie writing a contract with himself What he left behind in order to start his new life Biking across America Charlie’s love of generosity Money mindset Why Charlie values transparency Being a delusional optimist Resources: Website: charliejabaley.com IG: @charlie Twitter: @charliejabaley Mastermind: fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind Show Notes Today I’m sitting down with Charlie “The Rocket” Jabaley, and you guys, this may be one of the most inspiring episodes I have had this far. Charlie Jabaley was once a highly successful music manager for celebrity recording artists, but decided to walk away from it all when he realized it was leading to an unhealthy future. Since then, Charlie has biked across the United States, lost 130 pounds, and lives a more full and healthy life all around. We go deep into why Charlie left his business to pursuit better health, and the different ways he went about creating goals, training for an IronMan, and biking across the country. Charlie also talks about creating the vision of Charlie Rocket, how he manifests change, and why it’s so important to give back. This episode is so incredible, and serves as a great reminder that we can strive for wealth in all aspects, not just monetary. Question Highlights: What career background did you come from before your transformation? How were you so successful in some aspects, but so lost in others? What did you have to leave behind in order to begin this new life? What sparked biking across America? What was that like? Where did this drive for generosity come from? What did money mean to you before this journey, and what does it mean to you now? What has made you choose to be so transparent? Quotes "Boil pots of water, not lakes.” “I just want to live a great story.” “Too many people in this world are “you should” people, they get up on stages or they get on Youtube or Instagram and they say, “You should do this, you should do that,” and I never say those words, you should.” “See, money is going to magnify who we are.” “Nobody is going to believe in you until you get down the road, so you’ve gotta have this delusional optimistic mindset.” Charlie Jabaley wasn't your typical kid from Georgia (United States).
