Send us a textThis week on the Less Stressed Life, we're talking vision, mitochondria, and light with ophthalmologist and UCL researcher Glen Jeffery. We explore why the retina is so energy hungry and how simple exposure to long wavelength light and even plain incandescent lighting can measurably support aging eyes.We dig into wavelength and dose, why morning timing matters most, what makes incandescent bulbs uniquely powerful, and practical ways to protect your eyes from modern indoor lighting. If you've ever battled screen related eye strain, worried about declining vision, or felt lost in the red light maze, this conversation brings clarity and simple next steps.KEY TAKEAWAYS: • Morning light best activates mitochondria and supports eye health • Just three minutes of red or long wavelength light can boost color vision • Benefits fade after about five days without continued exposure • Incandescent bulbs outperform LEDs for vision and energy support • Blue light and LEDs can drain mitochondrial function • Avoid lasers; low intensity LEDs or sunlight are safest • Daily natural light is the simplest, most effective therapyABOUT GUEST:Dr. Glen Jeffery is a Professor of Neuroscience at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology. His research focuses on how aging and light exposure affect the retina and mitochondrial function. He has pioneered studies showing how specific wavelengths of light, including red and infrared, can improve visual performance and support healthy aging of the eye. His work bridges neuroscience, ophthalmology, and environmental health, emphasizing practical, light-based approaches to protect and restore vision. What if the Scholomance was a British boarding school, and therefore had funding, prestige and a competent professional faculty that cared about its students? And what if we told the story from the point of view of the Director of Magic, an extremely sensible woman who has devoted herself to a life of public service? And then, finally, what if it turns out that none of that is enough?
Isola by Allegra Goodman. In the 16th century, Marguerite is born into great wealth but after being orphaned at the age of three a guardian, Roberval, is appointed, who over several years steals her entire fortune. Destitute, her only option is to rely on him for everything and when he takes her on an expedition to sea she falls in love with his servant. Incandescent with rage, Roberval abandons them on a remote, inhospitable island where they're left to fight for survival. Based on actual historical events, this is extraordinary. The Monster of Harrods by Alison Kervin. Turns out that Mohamed al Fayed was a monster and presided over a reign of terror during his ownership of Harrods. Scores of women were offended against and this offending was known by the Metropolitan Police, who colluded with him, and by parliamentarians and the Royal family - but no one ever acted and he went to his grave without justice being done. This is a very dark history of an amazing department store that many of us have loved for a long time. LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Incandescent Confessional: Many are worried about my mental health - Modeling "Faith" in darkness | No longer "meditating daily," or doing "manifesting" | Sharing Trust in God during "perceived difficulties" Note around 13:40 - I know I've "bragged" about being med-free (I NEVER intend it to sound like bragging, just sharing cuz NO ONE talked about that when I was heavily medicated, but I could see if it's been seen that way), and even though I haven't been on prescriptions in over 9 years, I "self medicate" with all sorts of things - EVERYTHING that alleviates pain is medication in my perception right now. I meant it mostly metaphorically, though I have worked with certain plants and wellness protocols more like traditional medicine on and off but nothing worth sharing specifically at this time. 0:00 - intro/confessional about how ppl are worried about my mental health. How I can't seem to meditate or make meditations right now. How I'm no longer hiding my sensitivies. I can no longer "mask" my hyper-sensitive/hyper-imaginative animal. 19:39 - Intro to a prophetic dream 20:50 - Voice memo about a dream (with prophetic messages, I am being told as I write this - take the message as resonates for you, always) 47:11 - Offerings - https://www.yourweekendretreat.com + https://forms.gle/zLEGwQdNGZQDAEE8A 52:51 - HONESTLY sharing where I'm at in case you're feeling alone being there or ever have felt alone being there. 54:00 - Closing message for you SHARE YOUR LINKS IN THE COMMENTS! 55:22 - Clarifying thoughts about "positivity" and other messages I was "Scared" I spoke "incorrectly" on. DUDE, if I can move through anything from this, it's fear of "saying the wrongs things," my body is in full on hyper-painful-fear-mode while writing this and about to post/share this. I used to believe that meant I SHOULDN'T move forward because it would "attract" more fear. But on a rollercoaster, when you get scared at the top, you can't stop. That's the analogy I'm being given in my visions. (Also, if you're like, wait I thought you said you stopped meditating - which, I didn't FULLY, but compared to before it's nothing like it used to be - but I get visions ALL the time. They used to be really distracted, but now I've better integrated them...or maybe it's just that now I'm in public less so it's less distracting lol) If the content I have channeled for you over the past 9 years of making music and meditations publicaly has served you in any way and you're called to give at this time, thank you in advance to anything you feel called to give! Tipjars: Paypal: https://www.paypal.me/marisaimon Venmo: @musicandmiracles Please share your gifts/services in comments below!!!!!
Here is the new service I mentioned: https://forms.gle/24dK6s29UJYRmC6i8 0:00 - welcome 4:41- The message I paused for came from this video: https://youtu.be/F2RousymNt0?si=Y8UETZnT3zde-dX8 7:30 - the message I reference can be found here: https://youtu.be/Cq0Hj5Snd4o _ YOU have special talents, gifts and abilities we all made you for at this time. As a human who can't seem to do cooking or cleaning yet to save my life, THOSE might be your superpowers, literally not everyone can do those things and the same way I think people are amazed by music "I make" (I'm just a channel, it's not me, all credit goes to god), people who can do things like organize and making spaces look pretty and amazing are INSANELY talented to me. I just share that in case you think your talent isn't special. Kind of like how I channel things but assume we're all doing that and it isn't needed. But the message that came in loud and clear last night is that it is because we each have our own unique strengths that fit together like the most beautiful masterpiece of a puzzle that any of us could ever imagine. I'm sorry the road hasn't always been easy. I do not know what lies up ahead (I don't know much of anything), but the visions I've been given of are a golden era, where Consciousness/God/Love/Oneness/Unity is at the center of EVERYTHING including science. THANK YOU for BEING. _ An important note about the "glitch" I mention where people may be "gaslighting" you - I do not mean to invalidate your experience. Obviously the most loving option is that those people own up to what they did and seek forgiveness, the same anyone with a loving heart would. But perhaps there's more to it than what meets the eye, is all I'm saying (and is the message I'm receiving). I don't claim to have any answers, I'm just a sensitive animal that receives messages that would like to be shared. LOVE YOU DEAR ONE. Make sure you're following my YouTube channels if you want more messages than just from Incandescent at this time. I'm being asked to call these little things "audio tonics" - idk what they are exactly, but I've been burnt out from channeling messages for a bit and while I could understand why in my physical reality, I knew that it was once what gave me the greatest pleasure and joy and didn't want to lose that, so it seems spirit is guiding me to create in a new way and I'm deeply grateful. I say all of this to say to you: if you're feeling lackluster in something you once loved, maybe it's time to approach it in a new way. Perhaps God (insert your preferred word here: Life, Love, Christ Consciousness, Source, One, Infinity, etc) will inspire you today in a fun new way of "jumping in" to your greatest gifts and passions and all that you are. You are a remarkable star. A work of art. You are adored beyond any measure. I love you, God loves you more. My meditative pop artist name is Marisa Lynn, you can find my music anywhere you get your music. I post more music on YouTube than anywhere: https://www.youtube.com/@iammarisalynn Disclaimer: I'm just a human sharing things I make for me, guided to share with others as well. I make no claims about anything I make, except that I create in a state of Love and my goal is to empty myself and serve as a vessel for the "highest, best, most loving good in accordance with the highest, best most loving good of all." THANK YOU for making me this way. And thank you for whoever/however you are, dear perfect One.

The guys try to make sense of Everton's unfathomable implosion when they became the first Premier League team to lose a game when leading 2-0 as late as the 87th minute. They debate whether it's too soon to be thinking about replacing Sean Dyche, what he will need to do to turn things around while taking some solace from a fine performance that put the Blues into a winning position before they fell apart. They also briefly chat about the deadline day business and, in view of Iliman Ndiaye's display, other memorable players who got Evertonian bums off their seat in anticipation down the years. Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for September 2, 2024 is: incandescent in-kun-DESS-unt adjective Incandescent has literal and figurative meanings. Its literal meanings relate to heat and light; it describes something that is white or glowing because of great heat, and also something (like a light bulb) that produces bright light when heated. In figurative use, incandescent relates to several kinds of brilliance. Something or someone described as incandescent can be very impressive, successful, or intelligent, or simply happy and lively. In British English, incandescent can also describe someone or something feeling or showing great anger. // The invention of the incandescent bulb in the 19th century ushered in the age of electric lighting. // However much we were inclined to dislike her, it was hard not to be charmed by her incandescent smile and wit. See the entry > Examples: “Chang was 31 years old in 1998 when she debuted with Hunger. The reviews were raves, the praise, incandescent. The New York Times profiled her two years after publication as if to observe just how extraordinary the collection and the reviews had been. The critics said often that Chang was writing about lost homelands but you will see that these are stories mostly about the new homeland, not lost at all. These are mostly stories about America, about people who gave up everything to move here only to learn they would need to give up even more.” — Alexander Chee, foreword to Hunger (25th Anniversary Edition) by Lan Samantha Chang, 2023 Did you know? Incandescent first came to light in the English language toward the end of the 1700s, at a time when scientific experiments involving heat and light were being conducted on an increasingly frequent basis. An object that glowed at a high temperature (such as a piece of coal) was deemed incandescent. By the mid-1800s, the incandescent lamp—aka the lightbulb—had been invented; it contains a filament which gives off light when heated by an electric current. Figurative uses of incandescent soon followed, and today someone with a brilliant way with words may be said to have an “incandescent wit,” while someone positively beaming with joy may possess an “incandescent smile.”

On this episode of the Dr. Tyna Show, I am honored to be joined by Brian Richards. Brian is the founder and CEO of SaunaSpace and has created an incredible, natural fire light sauna experience. It feels like the sun when you walk in. For this girl who lives in rainy, tyrannical Oregon, this has been hugely helpful for me this winter. The SaunaSpace bulbs are zero EMF thermalight technology, which has a very similar light distribution to sunlight. A century ago, businessmen from around the world gathered in Geneva, Switzerland, to form a shadowy international organisation called the Phoebus Cartel. Their purpose? To control the production and distribution of lightbulbs across the world - and also, it's alleged, to deliberately shorten their lifespans to make them burn out quicker in order to sell more. It's a manufacturing tactic called planned obsolescence and it's claimed the Phoebus Cartel invented it. In this documentary, Shaun Keaveny goes in search of the mysterious Phoebus Cartel, a journey which takes him from the Industrial Midlands to Switzerland, a testing laboratory in Belgium, and the bizarre story of an immortal light bulb called Byron. Shaun investigates the rise of today's throwaway culture and looks at its enormous environmental impact, with millions of low-cost, poorly-made products ending up in landfill within a year of being bought. Is this a legacy of the Phoebus Cartel? Where does the conspiracy theory end and reality begin?Shaun also hears from the repairers, the activists, the campaigners and the designers who are fighting back against today's culture of accelerating obsolescence.Featuring contributions from: Chris Setz and the team at Haringey Fixers, Helen Peavitt (Science Museum), Catherine Shanahan (Rugby Art Museum), Markus Krajewski (University of Basel), James Hooker (Head of Laboratories for international lighting company), Scott Butler (Material Focus), Jack Holloway (Product Designer), Tim Cooper (Nottingham University), Kate Raworth (Environmental Change Institute, Oxford University) Readings... 3 - It's a Biden Light Bulb Ban! Incandescent light bulbs are not allowed as some sort of cost saving measure at the expense of its people. This sends Rich off on a tirade over the climate change obsession which is becoming not only disinformation and a fear mongering topic, but it is a mental health disorder! Do you believe climate change awareness leads to strained relationships, heightened anxiety, and/or depression? 330 - Rich reads your tweets and feedback over what the left has to put out today, and points out the hypocrisy from reply guys. Rich continues on a different article discussing how hot weather will affect mental health. 350 - The Biden Administration tells us if we do not renew the FISA act that the terrorists will win. Always with the terrorists when they want to have more overreach on its citizens.

4 - Congress should throw FISA and all these other Big Brother-esque acts in favor of writing new ones that don't involve spying on its own people. And the worst part, Rich thinks it will pass thanks to the Uniparty. He details FBI search violations and probes conducted on US citizens, as to help bolster his point, as well as many other infractions that bureaucrats will use against you. 420 - Let's rewrite the verbiage here. 440 - Where should Sean bring his daughter for her 5th birthday? 450 - Rich continues his discussion on Trump, FISA, and more. 5 - Drive @ 5 - What has Trump been Truthing today while another indictment looms over him? 510 - After a technical issue, we come back and play audio that exposes the hypocrisy of Hunter Biden and the so-called “justice” that is being carried out in court right now. 520 - Half the citizens here would still vote for Trump, why? Because half the people can see through the phony, corrupt DOJ. They have to distract you from Devon Archer, so when will the indictment drop? How about Thursday after the Archer hearing? 530 - Trump says he has been indicted. We go live to coverage on the matter. 540 - Rich gives his take on what this means for our country and political system going forward. You do not want to miss this. 6 - We continue to wait for the announcement from Special Counsel Jack Smith, as Rich warns how big of a danger this is for America and we're on a very slippery slope. 610 - Jack Smith makes his statement and Rich gives his instant reaction 630 - Suzy Kool is back on Twitter! More on the Donald Trump indictment. Rich displays the hypocrisy of this charge as he plays audio of Democrats asking for the 2016 election to not be counted, whether it was Martin Sheen or Representative Jamie Raskin. 650 - Wrapping up the show with how this is just a story for the media to feast on while the Biden's get away with their corruption.
