1. Zohran Mamdani and his New York City DSA Policies A city database published names and addresses of owners of certain high-value properties. The hosts characterize this as "doxxing" and argue it could expose property owners to harassment or threats. Mamdani's proposal for city-run grocery stores selling goods below typical market prices is criticized as a socialist or communist policy. Ted and Ben argue that government-run stores could: Undercut private grocery stores and bodegas. Reduce competition. Lead to shortages and inefficiencies. They expand into broader concerns about socialism, communism, and the direction of the Democratic Party. Political Analysis of the Democratic Party The influence of progressive and democratic socialist politicians. Figures such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), Elizabeth Warren, Chuck Schumer, and Gavin Newsom. Predictions about future Democratic leadership and elections. Concerns that more progressive candidates could gain greater influence within the party. 2. Anthony Fauci and COVID-19 Fauci privately acknowledged influencing school closures and lockdown decisions during the COVID-19 pandemic. His private notes allegedly contradict some of his later public statements and congressional testimony. He knew early that the Wuhan seafood market might not have been the original source of COVID-19. He attempted to protect himself and his reputation regarding questions about: School closures. Lockdowns. The origins of COVID-19. Gain-of-function research. Ted and Bedn characterize Fauci as: A narcissist. Media-focused. Dishonest in his public communications during the pandemic.

We are less then a week away from World Verdejo Day which is happening on Friday, June 5th.I have a bunch of interviews with winemakers, winery owners and other people connected with the Verdejo grape and the Spanish white wine region of Rueda. Rueda is a two-hour drive northwest of Madrid and is perfect spot for Verdejo with its hot summers, cold winters, crazy old vines and a massive commitment to organic/biodynamic grape growing. My first interview is with winemaker Pedro Martin from Bodegas Protos. His family used to make white wine in Rueda in the 1940s. His journey has gone from learning how to make wine in Bordeaux, working at one of London's most famous wine stores, Oddbins to now making a variety of Verdejo for Bodegas Protos.

In this engaging episode of the Rolex Whiskey Passion Project, Gavin Linde welcomes Kurt Maitland (author and founder of the Manhattan Whiskey Club) dive deep into the evolving landscape of whiskey over the last thirty years. Maitland shares nostalgic stories of his "whiskey journey," from discovering Jameson in college to hunting for "dusty" rare bottles in overlooked corner liquor stores—what he affectionately calls whiskey bodegas. They also discuss the technical shifts in the industry, such as how cost-cutting and efficiency measures at major distilleries like Macallan have altered the flavor profiles of modern spirits compared to their "heavier," unhurried vintage counterparts.

Send us a textIn this episode, we sit down with Stephanie Lurch, health equity leader, educator, and advocate whose work is grounded in a simple but radical idea: healthcare should be human.Against the backdrop of the current political climate and the evolving relationship between Canada and the United States, we explore how two neighboring countries with vastly different healthcare systems approach care, equity, access, and dignity. While national-level reform often feels slow, stalled, or uncertain, especially in the U.S., this conversation focuses on what individuals, clinicians, and communities can do now to restore humanity to healthcare.Together, we examine how power, culture, and policy shape patient experiences, and how relational care, storytelling, and community engagement can transform health outcomes, even within imperfect systems.Support the showThe hashtag for the podcast is #nourishyourflourish.
