What if the dancefloor were your most honest, living prayer? In this episode, I'm joined by Tasha Blank, celebrated international DJ, somatic practitioner, teacher, and founder of The Get Down, The Drop, BODY LANGUAGE, and global leadership academy Powerhouse DJ School (PhDJ).A student of somatic healing, shadow work, story, and ceremony, Tasha's nervous system-based approach to transformation through movement is a wild invitation into your most powerful expression. She's known for liberating hips in New York City's most legendary clubs, the world's wildest festivals, and museums, churches, helipads, boats, roving desert ships, forests, and mountaintops everywhere. She kicks off each set with a moment of silence and invocation. "Even for folks who've never seen a giant club get totally quiet and take a pause, it's an important part of the experience. When a crowd trusts each other enough to be still together for a few minutes, you can take them anywhere."This conversation is a portal for space holders, facilitators, artists, DJs, and dancers who want to lead and move from your depths, liberate your body, or dance as a living expression of your soul.

Welcome to The Parliament bar - the beating heart of gay life in nineties Belfast.
Claims about Darren's sexuality bring him trouble with the RUC.
The untold story of the murder of a gay police officer in Northern Ireland in 1997.Belfast 1997. But not just any part of Belfast, gay Belfast. A place you've probably never heard of before. Cigarette smoke, aftershave and expectation fill the air in the only gay bar in the country. Sat having a drink on a night out is Darren Bradshaw. He was just 24 years old when he was shot dead in front of hundreds of people. His brutal murder by terrorists sparked fears of a return to all out violence as the new Labour government under Tony Blair sought to bring peace to Northern Ireland - on the road to the Good Friday Agreement. This is the untold story of his life and murder. A story of both love and eventually betrayal.Presenter Jordan Dunbar grew up in the city, he was a comedian and drag performer on the Belfast scene and yet this murder and Darren's life was never talked about.Following Darren's story brings to life the struggle of being gay in The Troubles, how Belfast got its first Pride parade only in 1991 and its very first openly gay club in 1994 -The Parliament bar where Darren was tragically shot dead. It's a community surviving as well as thriving against a backdrop of violence and discrimination. He meets the original drag queens, DJs and club pioneers determined to claim back the city centre from the terrorists and create a safe place of their own.Determined to piece together for the first time how Darren was killed that night and why, Jordan uncovers stories of bigotry, bravery and betrayal.
The untold story of the murder of a gay police officer in Northern Ireland in 1997.

We're back with Episode 78! And we're recapping six big things that have happened over the past six months at Rhythm and Confetti on the Dance Floor — and giving you a sneak peek at what's coming this summer. From new Camp Confettis to our biggest announcement ever (we're moving!), this episode is packed with all the fun, chaos, and sparkle you expect from us. Here's what we cover:1. New Camp Confetti Themes We launched Pink Bubbles & Emerald Energy (Wicked-inspired) and Bark in the Park: A Big Blue Adventure (Bluey-inspired), and we're loving all the pics and videos coming in. These two new themes have been a huge hit with studio owners and dancers alike.2. Studio Owner University with MTJGD We attended Studio Owner University in beautiful Amelia Island with our team—Krista, Kelsey, and Shelley—and left full of inspiration, ideas, and to-do lists. SOU is always a reset, and having our team there this year gave us fresh perspectives on everything from tuition to communication. Plus, our Confetti booth had one of its best events yet.3. Summer at Rhythm is in Full Swing Even though summer registration launched in February, we officially kicked off summer camps just a few days ago. After a quick regroup post-show, our team is dialed in and ready—improving everything from communications and staffing to crafts and content creation. The energy in the studio is high, and we're loving it.4. We're Moving and Expanding After 32 years (and 25 in our current building), we're making a massive move to a brand new, 9-studio, 25,000 sq. ft. space later this fall. It's a huge milestone and we're still in permitting, but we're so excited to share this journey with you. Expect full episodes soon about this transition—we've got big plans to make this the most Rhythm space ever.5. Survived Competition & Convention Season January through April was wild. From intense schedules to dazzling custom costumes (shoutout to Beth for sewing every piece!), we made it through the busiest season ever. Our production number continues to be a huge creative outlet—we may not choreograph it anymore, but we're still deeply involved in all things music, costuming, and storytelling.6. RHYTHMerald City OZtravaganza is in the Books We just wrapped our epic Year-End Show and we're still buzzing. From the vibrant theme to the over-the-top production, this show might be one of our all-time favorites. There's so much to share, we're planning a deep dive soon. As we round out the Perth Pub Crawl, Clairsy & Lisa opened the phones to ask about your most memorable Pinocchio’s memory. On The Shaw Report, a new Spaceballs movie is in the works, Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana hits a record number of views on YouTube and The Rolling Stones are back in the studio. Myf Warhurst phoned in to chat about Spicks and Specks, the show turns 20 this year, Myf recounted her favourite memories and possibly not being the producer’s first choice for the show. Barra popped in for a chat, bleary eyed from a late night watching the cricket, he spoke with the guys about the busy weekend of AFL in Perth over the weekend and asked the guys what they thought of the new Perth Wildcats branding. Clairsy & Lisa’s final Perth Pub Crawl went to air as the incredible Suze DeMarchi phoned in for a chat to talk favourite venues, a dangerous Sunday sesh and touring in her 60s.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Hello Seattle Mariners fans! Blood is on the dance floor, blood is on the night but Evan James, Anders Jorstad and Zach Mason are here on Saturday May 31st to celebrate Cal Raleigh/Cole Young and lament the actual results of Mariner baseball over the last week. Rough series against the Astros and Nationals seemed to culminate in a 9th inning punch to the gut loss on May 30th where Munoz would surrender his first runs and blown save of the season. But all is not lost? A piece of the solution finds himself called to the show, rolling up I5 to make his Mariners debut this weekend. Will Locklear and Ford be not far behind? Can the bullpen shake out of this funk? How is the trade market taking shape on the horizon? What makes a dancer stand out at the milonga? It's not just the moves. It's not just the music. It's something deeper. In this episode, I unpack the quiet, often unspoken reasons why dancers choose certain partners over others—from posture and floorcraft to musicality, energy, and presence. If you've ever wondered, “What are they seeing that I'm not?” or “What are people looking for when they watch me dance?”—this episode is for you.Whether you're newer to tango or have been dancing for years, this conversation will help you reframe how you see the dance floor… and how you show up on it.→ Chicago event info click here: https://imsotango.com/events Want to feel more confident, expressive, and musical in your own dancing? That's exactly what I help dancers do inside IMSO Tango School Online.
