Em 1º de setembro, no início do ano letivo na França, entra em vigor a lei que proíbe redes sociais a menores de 15 anos. Pais e filhos ouvidos pela RFI opinaram sobre a medida. É consensual que o modo de funcionamento dos algoritmos das plataformas causa impactos negativos para os jovens. Vitória Barreto, para a RFI em Paris A França se tornou o primeiro país na União Europeia a estabelecer uma lei de idade mínima para o acesso às redes sociais em âmbito nacional. A iniciativa faz parte de um movimento crescente de governos que buscam limitar a exposição de crianças e adolescentes às plataformas digitais diante de preocupações com saúde mental, privacidade e segurança online. O texto, aprovado em julho pela Assembleia e pelo Senado, ainda requer um detalhamento sobre o método de verificação de idade dos usuários. Mas já está definido que, para as contas existentes, o prazo de verificação da idade mínima termina em dezembro. Alain Bleu, supervisor técnico de transmissão de rádio e TV, pai de um adolescente de 14 anos, vê a nova legislação com reservas. Embora reconheça os riscos associados ao uso das redes sociais por jovens, ele questiona a eficácia de uma proibição implementada abruptamente. “Já existe um sistema em que as pessoas vivem com as redes sociais. Impor um controle de repente, acho que surpreende, e não sei se é a resposta certa fazer desse jeito", disse Alain. “Acho que os políticos não tiveram a reflexão necessária quando essas redes sociais começaram, porque já havia evidências, os psicólogos já falavam dos perigos, dos problemas”, acrescentou. Saúde mental em jogo Uma das principais justificativas para a implementação da lei é a proteção da saúde mental dos jovens. Segundo a agência de saúde francesa, um em cada dois adolescentes passa entre duas e cinco horas por dia conectado a um smartphone.     Um relatório mostrou que o uso de redes sociais traz uma série de efeitos negativos: a queda da autoestima dos adolescentes e o aumento da exposição a conteúdos ligados a comportamentos de risco. Inès Legendre, assessora jurídica da e-Enfance, organização francesa de proteção de menores no ambiente digital, afirma que a associação recebe frequentemente ligações de pais que se sentem desamparados diante do tempo que os filhos passam em frente às telas e nas redes sociais. Segundo ela, os jovens ficam expostos muitas vezes a “conteúdo que promove a magreza extrema, ou posts ligados ao suicídio”. Críticos apontam que a lei pode ser utópica, já que os próprios jovens podem encontrar formas de contorná-la. Na Austrália, por exemplo, mais de 80% dos adolescentes com menos de 16 anos continuaram nas redes sociais três meses após a proibição nacional entrar em vigor, segundo pesquisa do órgão regulatório do país. Ainda assim, para a jurista francesa, a lei é um passo importante para a regulamentação das redes no bloco europeu. “Como os próprios parlamentares que votaram o texto final da lei já disseram, ela é, na verdade, simbólica. Serve, antes de tudo, para pressionar a União Europeia a agir. O bloco até já fez bastante coisa nessa área, mas, no momento, quem tomou a frente mesmo foi a França,” enfatizou. Apesar do hábito de usar essas plataformas com frequência, ele diz ser favorável à nova lei. Na sua avaliação, diferentemente dele, muitos de seus amigos enxergam as redes sociais como um espaço de refúgio, mas nem sempre seguro. “Eles pensam que a rede social é uma forma de escapar da vida real e que agora estão tirando essa válvula de escape de pessoas que vivem, por exemplo, em um ambiente familiar difícil ou cercadas de relações tóxicas”, afirma. O adolescente reconhece, no entanto, que os benefícios das redes convivem com riscos importantes. “Quando você percebe que o mesmo algoritmo que pode ajudar alguém a encontrar apoio também pode expô-lo a conteúdos ligados ao suicídio, por exemplo, os efeitos negativos acabam sendo ainda maiores. É por isso que considero essa lei uma boa medida”, acrescenta. Leia tambémUE exige que Meta mude 'design viciante' do Facebook e do Instagram para evitar multa A importância da educação em casa Para o empreendedor Jonathan Kiloso, pai de uma menina de 11 anos, a lei é um passo importante, mas acredita que a verdadeira solução está na comunicação entre pais e filhos. “O verdadeiro caminho seria ensinar as crianças a cuidar dos próprios dados, pensar na imagem que deixam na internet e entender que certas atitudes têm consequências tanto para os outros quanto para elas mesmas. E também ajudá-las a entender como os algoritmos funcionam,” disse o pai. “Quando esses pontos já estiverem bem trabalhados, dentro de um diálogo aberto e transparente entre pais e filhos, aí sim dá para pensar em limitar o acesso delas”, acrescentou. A filha pré-adolescente de Jonathan é a favor da lei, porque sente que não teria a mesma infância se usasse as redes sociais. “Quando você tem menos de 15 anos e não tem redes sociais, pode ficar mais aberto ao que está ao seu redor. Já a maioria dos jovens de 15 anos vive grudada no celular e não se abre para o mundo. Não estou dizendo que isso vai acontecer comigo, mas, se tivesse redes sociais, talvez passasse meu tempo nelas, e não é isso que eu quero." Um dos principais críticos da lei é o partido de esquerda radical França Insubmissa. Apesar de concordar com a necessidade da proteção de menores, defende que as redes sociais são um espaço importante de socialização, acesso à informação e na introdução dos jovens ao debate público. Até setembro, o governo francês deve detalhar os possíveis métodos de verificação da idade dos adolescentes. Entre as opções em estudo estão a estimativa de idade por selfie, analisada por algoritmo, ou por apresentação de um documento de identidade.  Na volta às aulas, a França também amplia as restrições ao uso de smartphones no ensino médio, oito anos depois da adoção da medida no ensino fundamental. Segundo o governo francês, pesquisas realizadas em escolas que restringiram os aparelhos mostraram efeitos positivos sobre a concentração dos estudantes, o clima escolar e a redução de episódios de bullying nas redes.

Resultados de uma pesquisa realizada na Faculdade de Zootecnia e Engenharia de Alimentos (FZEA) da USP, em Pirassununga, mostraram que a substituição parcial, em 10%, da carne bovina por farinha desengordurada de besouro da espécie Tenébrio Molitor é viável, permitindo o desenvolvimento de salsichas com qualidade igual à convencional. Os estudos foram realizados pelo engenheiro de alimentos António Alberto nos laboratórios da FZEA. Na entrevista desta quinta-feira (2), no podcast Os Novos Cientistas, Alberto descreveu que a farinha desengordurada foi obtida a partir das larvas do inseto. E para chegar ao produto ideal, o engenheiro de alimentos elaborou três tratamentos: um denominado controle, sem adição de farinha, e outros dois com a substituição da carne magra bovina em 10% e 20%, respectivamente. “Avaliamos as salsichas em suas diversas características físico-químicas e aceitação sensorial”, contou o pesquisador. Os resultados demonstraram que a incorporação da farinha também reduziu a umidade e aumentou o teor proteico em um dos tratamentos, mostrando que o processo é tecnologicamente viável. Alberto é angolano e desenvolveu seu estudo de mestrado por meio de uma parceria firmada entre a USP e o Ministério do Ensino Superior, Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação de Angola para a formação em pós-graduação de docentes e pesquisadores do país africano. Patrícia passou anos tentando ser mãe. Perdeu gestações, enfrentou tratamentos e viu o seu sonho se desfazer algumas vezes. Quando tudo parecia ter acabado, ela descobriu que a maternidade não chega do jeito que a gente imagina, mas do jeito que precisa ser.Desde pequena, Patrícia sonhava em ter filhos. Quando conheceu o companheiro com quem queria dividir a vida, sentiu que tudo finalmente estava se encaixando. Casaram rápido e logo ela engravidou. Tudo dava a entender que o futuro tinha finalmente começado.Mas a Patrícia perdeu a primeira gestação. Depois veio a segunda, e ela também perdeu. Com as perdas, ela foi atrás de respostas, já que tinha quase 38 anos e o relógio biológico parecia fazer mais barulho que qualquer outra coisa.Ela tentou a fertilização in vitro, investiu o dinheiro guardado para realizar o sonho de conhecer a Europa na tentativa de realizar outro sonho: ser mãe. Mas não deu certo.Foi então que sua irmã mais nova doou seus óvulos, num gesto de amor tão grande que a Patrícia decidiu acreditar mais uma vez. Dessa vez, a gravidez foi progredindo. Saudável, feliz, o quarto estava pronto, o nome do bebê já tinha sido decidido…Até que, no sexto mês, uma dor na perna levou Patrícia ao hospital. Ela estava com a pressão alta, ficou dias internada e precisou entrar em trabalho de parto prematuro. Infelizmente, Patrícia teve que dar à luz um bebê sem vida.Ela voltou para casa sem o filho e uma parte dela ficou naquele hospital.Na varanda de casa, entre lágrimas, ela e o marido falaram pela primeira vez sobre adoção. Não importava como, eles só queriam ser pais.E foi assim que Felipe chegou. Seu filho estava no interior do Maranhão, e ela foi até lá buscá-lo. Quando Patrícia segurou aquele recém-nascido pela primeira vez, ela soube, sem explicação, que ele era seu filho. Não era melhor, nem pior, nem diferente. Era a conexão entre mãe e filho.Três meses depois, enquanto aprendia a ser mãe de Felipe, veio outra surpresa: uma gravidez natural, depois de tudo que ela havia passado. E dessa vez, sem nenhum susto Thiago nasceu saudável. Dez meses mais novo que o irmão.Em menos de um ano, Patrícia teve dois filhos. Depois de tantas perdas, a vida resolveu te presentear em dobro. E ela entendeu que milagre, às vezes, não vem como a gente planeja, mas como tem que ser.
