On this episode of Metal Geeks, Cary the Metal Geek, Brutal Dave, and George dive into one of the biggest conversations in gaming as PlayStation announces plans to end physical game production by January 2028. What does the continued shift toward an all-digital future mean for collectors, preservation, ownership, and gamers who still love having a shelf full of games? The crew also discusses Xbox's latest changes and layoffs, sharing their thoughts on where the gaming industry is headed. Before the main topic, they cover Iron Maiden selling half of their catalog, name, and likeness rights, Napalm Death's unforgettable NPR Tiny Desk Concert, and pay tribute to Mike Browning and actor Sam Neill. In What We Watching, they discuss Widow's Bay, Shipwrecked: Nightmare at Sea, Supergirl, The Furious, Ready or Not 2, Cold Storage, and Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie. The gaming conversation includes Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Mouse: P.I. For Hire, and far too many Steam games to count. 39 And Mary rising up in those days, went into the hill country with haste into a city of Juda.Exsurgens autem Maria in diebus illis, abiit in montana cum festinatione, in civitatem Juda : 40 And she entered into the house of Zachary, and saluted Elizabeth.et intravit in domum Zachariae, et salutavit Elisabeth. 41 And it came to pass, that when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the infant leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:Et factum est, ut audivit salutationem Mariae Elisabeth, exsultavit infans in utero ejus : et repleta est Spiritu Sancto Elisabeth : 42 And she cried out with a loud voice, and said: Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.et exclamavit voce magna, et dixit : Benedicta tu inter mulieres, et benedictus fructus ventris tui. 43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?Et unde hoc mihi, ut veniat mater Domini mei ad me? 44 For behold as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.Ecce enim ut facta est vox salutationis tuae in auribus meis, exsultavit in gaudio infans in utero meo. 45 And blessed art thou that hast believed, because those things shall be accomplished that were spoken to thee by the Lord.Et beata, quae credidisti, quoniam perficientur ea, quae dicta sunt tibi a Domino. 46 And Mary said: My soul doth magnify the Lord.Et ait Maria : Magnificat anima mea Dominum : 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.et exsultavit spiritus meus in Deo salutari meo.

11 But Mary stood at the sepulchre without, weeping. Now as she was weeping, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre,Maria autem stabat ad monumentum foris, plorans. Dum ergo fleret, inclinavit se, et prospexit in monumentum : 12 And she saw two angels in white, sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been laid.et vidit duos angelos in albis sedentes, unum ad caput, et unum ad pedes, ubi positum fuerat corpus Jesu. 13 They say to her: Woman, why weepest thou? She saith to them: Because they have taken away my Lord; and I know not where they have laid him.Dicunt ei illi : Mulier, quid ploras? Dicit eis : Quia tulerunt Dominum meum : et nescio ubi posuerunt eum. 14 When she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing; and she knew not that it was Jesus.Haec cum dixisset, conversa est retrorsum, et vidit Jesum stantem : et non sciebat quia Jesus est. 15 Jesus saith to her: Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, thinking it was the gardener, saith to him: Sir, if thou hast taken him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.Dicit ei Jesus : Mulier, quid ploras? quem quaeris? Illa existimans quia hortulanus esset, dicit ei : Domine, si tu sustulisti eum, dicito mihi ubi posuisti eum, et ego eum tollam. 16 Jesus saith to her: Mary. She turning, saith to him: Rabboni (which is to say, Master).Dicit ei Jesus : Maria. Conversa illa, dicit ei : Rabboni ( quod dicitur Magister). 17 Jesus saith to her: Do not touch me, for I am not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brethren, and say to them: I ascend to my Father and to your Father, to my God and your God.Dicit ei Jesus : Noli me tangere, nondum enim ascendi ad Patrem meum : vade autem ad fratres meos, et dic eis : Ascendo ad Patrem meum, et Patrem vestrum, Deum meum, et Deum vestrum. 18 Mary Magdalen cometh, and telleth the disciples: I have seen the Lord, and these things he said to me.Venit Maria Magdalene annuntians discipulis : Quia vidi Dominum, et haec dixit mihi.
THIS WEEK ON TOILET RADIO: We talk about a fledgling TovH Guy really going above and beyond by attempting to murder the elderly father of his former Turnstile vocalist. See you in 15-20, Brady! We compare and contrast the journey of Brady Ebert with rapper Pooh Sheisty who also went above and beyond this week by attempting to kidnap Gucci Mane in front of a cop and a million cameras. In other news: Kiko Loureiro, former Megadeth guitarist, threatened to sue Arch Enemy over stealing a guitar riff, Arch Enemy responds and shatters Kiko into a pile of broken glass. Jordan makes me listen to a terrible Ladies & Gentlemen Core song from Dominum and I just kinda sigh into my microphone for 7 minutes. In much sadder news, Bo Leuders of Harms Way and James Lollar of Gost died way too young this week. Finally, we question whether the metrics behind fake band Dogma can be trusted at all. 1 After these things was a festival day of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.Post haec erat dies festus Judaeorum, et ascendit Jesus Jerosolymam. 2 Now there is at Jerusalem a pond, called Probatica, which in Hebrew is named Bethsaida, having five porches.Est autem Jerosolymis probatica piscina, quae cognominatur hebraice Bethsaida, quinque porticus habens. 3 In these lay a great multitude of sick, of blind, of lame, of withered; waiting for the moving of the water. In his jacebat multitudo magna languentium, caecorum, claudorum, aridorum, exspectantium aquae motum. 4 And an angel of the Lord descended at certain times into the pond; and the water was moved. And he that went down first into the pond after the motion of the water, was made whole, of whatsoever infirmity he lay under.Angelus autem Domini descendebat secundum tempus in piscinam, et movebatur aqua. Et qui prior descendisset in piscinam post motionem aquae, sanus fiebat a quacumque detinebatur infirmitate.Benedict XV extended to the Universal Church the Feast of the holy Archangel St Raphael, who is known to us from the inspired words of the book of Tobias as the angelical physician of soul and body. From the Book of Tobias, 12, 7-15 7 For it is good to hide the secret of a king: but honourable to reveal and confess the works of God.Etenim sacramentum regis abscondere bonum est : opera autem Dei revelare et confiteri honorificum est. 8 Prayer is good with fasting and alms more than to lay up treasures of gold:Bona est oratio cum jejunio, et eleemosyna magis quam thesauros auri recondere : 9 For alms delivereth from death, and the same is that which purgeth away sins, and maketh to find mercy and life everlasting.quoniam eleemosyna a morte liberat, et ipsa est, quae purgat peccata, et facit invenire misericordiam et viam aeternam. 10 But they that commit sin and iniquity, are enemies to their own soul.Qui autem faciunt peccatum, et iniquitatem, hostes sunt animae suae. 11 I discover then the truth unto you, and I will not hide the secret from you.Manifesto ergo vobis veritatem, et non abscondam a vobis occultum sermonem. 12 When thou didst pray with tears, and didst bury the dead, and didst leave thy dinner, and hide the dead by day in thy house, and bury them by night, I offered thy prayer to the Lord.Quando orabas cum lacrimis, et sepeliebas mortuos, et derelinquebas prandium tuum, et mortuos abscondebas per diem in domo tua, et nocte sepeliebas eos, ego obtuli orationem tuam Domino. 13 And because thou wast acceptable to God, it was necessary that temptation should prove thee.Et quia acceptus eras Deo, necesse fuit ut tentatio probaret te. 14 And now the Lord hath sent me to heal thee, and to deliver Sara thy son's wife from the devil.Et nunc misit me Dominus ut curarem te, et Saram uxorem filii tui a daemonio liberarem. 15 For I am the angel Raphael, one of the seven, who stand before the Lord.Ego enim sum Raphael angelus, unus ex septem, qui adstamus ante Dominum.Tobias 8.3Then the angel Raphael took the devil, and bound him in the desert of upper Egypt.Tunc Raphael angelus apprehendit daemonium, et religavit illud in deserto superioris Aegypti.
34 But the Pharisees hearing that he had silenced the Sadducees, came together:Pharisaei autem audientes quod silentium imposuisset sadducaeis, convenerunt in unum : 35 And one of them, a doctor of the law, asking him, tempting him:et interrogavit eum unus ex eis legis doctor, tentans eum : 36 Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law?Magister, quod est mandatum magnum in lege? 37 Jesus said to him: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind.Ait illi Jesus : Diliges Dominum Deum tuum ex toto corde tuo, et in tota anima tua, et in tota mente tua. 38 This is the greatest and the first commandment.Hoc est maximum, et primum mandatum. 39 And the second is like to this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.Secundum autem simile est huic : Diliges proximum tuum, sicut teipsum. 40 On these two commandments dependeth the whole law and the prophets. In his duobus mandatis universa lex pendet, et prophetae. 41 And the Pharisees being gathered together, Jesus asked them,Congregatis autem pharisaeis, interrogavit eos Jesus, 42 Saying: What think you of Christ? whose son is he? They say to him: David's.dicens : Quid vobis videtur de Christo? cujus filius est? Dicunt ei : David. 43 He saith to them: How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying:Ait illis : Quomodo ergo David in spiritu vocat eum Dominum, dicens : 44 The Lord said to my Lord, Sit on my right hand, until I make thy enemies thy footstool?Dixit Dominus Domino meo : Sede a dextris meis, donec ponam inimicos tuos scabellum pedum tuorum? 45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?Si ergo David vocat eum Dominum, quomodo filius ejus est? 46 And no man was able to answer him a word; neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.Et nemo poterat ei respondere verbum : neque ausus fuit quisquam ex illa die eum amplius interrogare. The Liturgy reminds us today of the great commandment of charity towards God and our neighbour, "The precept is twofold," declares St Augustine, "but charity is one." We love God above all and our neighbour for His sake.

46 And Mary said: My soul doth magnify the Lord.Et ait Maria : Magnificat anima mea Dominum : 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.et exsultavit spiritus meus in Deo salutari meo.At the time of Mary's birth the whole world was plunged in darkness. The heathen nations were steeped in vice and pride. The Jews, beloved of God, had strayed from Him. Everywhere there was sin and gloom, no bright spot on the face of the earth. But when Mary was born a light arose amid the darkness; the dawn of the glorious day that was to usher in the Redeemer. So, too, the darkness of the sinner's soul is dispersed by Mary's holy influence. Where the love of her is born in the soul, all becomes full of light, and Jesus comes to make is habitation there. Mary, in the first hour of her life, brought more glory to God than all the Saints of the Old Testament. In her were made perfect obedience of Abraham, the chastity of Joseph, the patience of Job, the meekness of Moses, the prudence of Josue. It is because she is the model and pattern of these and all other virtues that she can communicate them to us.

Her life was spent in helping the Apostles and in praying for the conversion of the world. On the third day after Mary's death, when the Apostles gathered around her tomb, they found it empty. The sacred body had been carried up to the celestial paradise. Jesus Himself came to conduct here thither; the whole court of heaven came to welcome with songs of triumph the Mother of the Divine Word.

This power has a long and sordid history of persecuting God's people, waging war against God's word and blaspheming God on the highest level — all while disguising itself and its actions as the will of God. Today we will shine a bright light on this power so that you are not deceived when it resurrects to be marveled after. This is a public episode.

Donald Macleod explores Henry Purcell's LondonHenry Purcell was the most important English composer of the era, described as the "Orpheus Britannicus" for his ability to combine Baroque counterpoint with dramatic settings of English words. He composed music for the church, the royal court, the theatre and for England's newly emerging concert scene, with an intelligence and creativity that marked him out as one of the most original composers in all of Europe. More than anything, though, he composed music for London – the city where he lived all of his short life. This week, Donald Macleod explores the city during Purcell's lifetime and London's effect on a man who lays claim to being England's greatest composer. During Purcell's childhood, it was a city reeling from civil war, the disastrous spread of disease, and the destruction wreaked by the Great Fire. We'll explore London's churches, and music Purcell wrote for them, especially Westminster Abbey, where Purcell was organist, the state of London's theatre scene in Purcell's day, and the changing demands for music from the various monarchs of the composer's lifetime.

Understanding the Trinity and the role of the Holy Spirit can be very confusing, but don't worry! Patrick Madrid is here to explain. Let's delve into the highlights: Understanding the Holy Spirit Nature of the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. This means we're talking about one God in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is fully God, possessing the same divine nature as the Father and the Son. Eternal Mystery Beyond Time: God exists outside of time. When we say God is eternal, it means He is not bound by temporal limitations. This applies equally to the Holy Spirit. Trinity Explained One God in Three Persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not three separate gods. They share one divine essence. If they were separate, it would limit God's infinitude, contradicting His nature. Analogies: Patrick uses the analogy of a reflection in a mirror to illustrate the distinct yet unified nature of the Trinity. Though this analogy is not perfect, it helps us grasp the concept of distinct persons sharing one essence. Scriptural Insights Incarnation and the Holy Spirit: Jesus, the incarnate second person of the Trinity, receives the Holy Spirit in His humanity. This is seen at key moments like His baptism, where the Holy Spirit descends like a dove. Mary's Role: Mary, full of grace and overshadowed by the Holy Spirit, becomes the mother of Jesus through a miraculous, divine act, showing her unique relationship with the Holy Spirit. Divine Knowledge and Love Infinite Attributes: God's knowledge, power, and love are limitless. The Holy Spirit, sharing in this divine infinitude, also embodies these attributes fully. Go Deeper If you want to learn more, Patrick recommends Dominum et Vivificantem, an encyclical by St. Pope John Paul II, which delves into the Holy Spirit's role and nature.
