In this episode I interview Disney Legend and Imagineer Bob Gurr about his incredible career working for Walt Disney. We discuss Bob's early life as a young boy through his time at WED Enterprises working directly for Walt Disney on the construction of Disneyland. Bob is often quoted as saying..."If it moves on wheels at Disneyland, I probably designed it." That quote is quite accurate considering Bob's impressive resume as designer of such iconic attraction ride vehicles as: the Monorail, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Disneyland Fire Engine, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride cars, and the OmniMover ride vehicle system, which appears most notoriously in the 'Doom Buggies' Haunted Mansion ride vehicles.  Bob is not only a Disney Legend, his career is legendary but it did not end when Bob officially left Disney in 1981. Disneyland's Haunted Mansion briefly used live characters to portray a knight inside of a suit of armor inside of its dank halls in the 1980s, and in this episode of the DoomBuggies Spook Show we learn more about the experiences and challenges that these actors faced in bringing some true scares into the Haunted Mansion. In this special episode, the DoomBuggies Spook Show celebrates Disneyland's Haunted Mansion Holiday seasonal overlay with an extensive behind-the-scenes look at the development and creation of this extremely popular attraction. After taking a trip back to 2001 to look at some of the promotional material Disneyland produced in anticipation of the new overlay, DoomBuggies invites you to jump into our black coffin sleigh to take a tour through the history of the Haunted Mansion Holiday, including a look at a proposed Nightmare Before Christmas ride, an overview of the musical history of the overlay, and interviews with former Disneyland Entertainment artist Tim Wollweber and voice actor Corey Burton, both of whom had integral roles in the development of the attraction which is celebrating its 13th anniversary this year.
