This week, Jeanette and special guest, Oscar Martinez, continue their journey of Greig Fraser cinematography series to talk about the 2012 political action thriller film, Zero Dark Thirty. Inspired by true events, the film dramatizes the nearly decade-long international manhunt for Osama bin Laden, leader of the terrorist network Al-Qaeda, after the September 11 attacks. Welcome to a brand new episode of the ¿Quién Tú Eres? podcast, where we explore the conflict we often face between "professionalism" & being our authentic selves. This week's guest is Oscar Enrique Martinez. Oscar Martinez is a creative and content marketer with over 14 years of experience working with both brands and agencies. As a natural connector, Oscar is a problem solver with a passion for storytelling through the lens of culture and authenticity. You've probably seen his work online as a comedic actor/producer, and he's best known as the other half of the music parody duo Juan Bago and O. After his time in the comedy world, O actually took his talents to the stage, starring in off-Broadway plays and joining the cast of Latino sketch comedy group Room 28. He is now the Cultural Partnerships and Activations Lead on the Global Brand Activations Team at Vistaprint. In this week's episode, Oscar tells us how his rebellious nature shaped his creative career and how he had the courage to leave a “stable” career behind. He was always encouraged to pursue a government job and a pension. But he knew that kind of career wouldn't make him happy. Fast forward a few years, and Oscar is a viral sensation. He's worked with the Billboard Awards, is a host on the Smartest Guys in the Room podcast, and has performed with comedy sketches around the world. Listen to hear how Oscar took a leap of faith and became his most authentic self. This week, Jeanette and special guest, Oscar Martinez, continue their journey of Greig Fraser cinematography series to talk about the 2018 American biographical political satire black comedy-drama film, Vice. Based on the life of former Vice President of the United States, Dick Cheney, the film follows Cheney on his path to becoming the most powerful Vice President in American history. Though this entry is subdue compared to Fraser's other work, we overcome our political beliefs to critique and praise the look of the film. From pursed bottom lip to calmly telling people that you are having a heart attach, the film delves deep into the mysterious mind of one of the least favorite politicians in US politics. Special thanks to Oscar Martinez for taking part in this unique episode.
