This week, even more things coming to the Disneyland Resort for the 70th, a sneak peek into the Walt animatronic, a new character coming to Avengers Campus, bananas are invading Disneyland later this month, fire heroes were honored, new seating was added to New Orleans Square, we talk to Artist Jerrod Maruyama, and more! Please support the show if you can by going to https://www.dlweekly.net/support/. Check out all of our current partners and exclusive discounts at https://www.dlweekly.net/promos. News: More and more keeps being announced for the 70th Anniversary of Disneyland. A new light, sound, and projection moment will be coming to Carthay Circle and Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure. The moment will be set to the tune “Celebrate Happy,” the theme song for the anniversary. – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/guide-to-the-70th-anniversary-at-disneyland-resort/ We have some new details about the Walt Disney animatronic experience coming to the Opera House in July. Various media outlets were invited to the Imagineering campus to see the life-sized concept sculpt, and to learn more about the show. Walt's voice in the show will be his own, with clips of his actual voice were painstakingly assembled from interviews. The animatronic itself is very lifelike. The posture, facial structure, and skin texture are “uncanny” according to MiceChat. – https://www.micechat.com/414430-disneyland-walt-disney-a-magical-life-revealed/ Another character from the Marvel Universe will be dropping by Avengers Campus for a limited time. Red Guardian, who first appeared in Black Widow, and is featured in the new movie Thunderbolts, will be meeting and greeting with guests. You can be sure to find him by checking the Disneyland App. – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/meet-the-super-amazing-red-guardian-at-avengers-campus/ If you are going to be in Avengers Campus heading into Cars Land, or the other way around in the near future, be aware that the path between the two by Luigi's is closed. This has been done for construction of a new restroom facility to compliment the new additions to Avengers Campus currently under construction. – https://www.micechat.com/414422-disneyland-news-70th-anniversary-improvements-red-guardian-appearance-store-changes/ May the 4th was this weekend and the Disney Parks Blog shared a recipe from A Galaxy Far, Far Away. The Felucian Falafel and Hummus Garden Spread from Docking Bay 7 may take some planning – with one step taking from 12-18 hours – but is sure to be a tasty treat! – https://disneyparksblog.com/disney-experiences/disney-eats-exclusive-plant-based-star-wars-day-recipe/ Later this month, a fun team will be visiting the parks. The Savannah Bananas, a baseball team similar to the Harlem Globetrotters, will be at Disneyland on May 28, 2025. Special entertainment moments, and themed food and beverages will be on hand to celebrate. – https://disneyparksblog.com/disney-experiences/savannah-bananas-disneyland-may-28/ On Monday, May 5, there was a Heroes Salute Cavalcade to honor the first responders of the fires back in January. The Heroes ticket also kicked off to coincide with the cavalcade. – https://www.micechat.com/414422-disneyland-news-70th-anniversary-improvements-red-guardian-appearance-store-changes/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHGVwxv9H1E A rather abrupt change has come to New Orleans Square. The Port Royal Curios and Curiosities shop, right next to the Royal Street Veranda, has been changed into a seating area for diners. Since the shop duplicated the merchandise which can be found at Madame Leota's “Somewhere Beyond” shop, the old location was not needed. The decor was not updated much, except to turn it into a jazzy looking speakeasy. Tables and chairs are scattered about for guests to get out of the heat and find a place to eat. – https://www.micechat.com/414422-disneyland-news-70th-anniversary-improvements-red-guardian-appearance-store-changes/ At the Emporium on Main Street, there are a set of windows that are decorated with animated scenes from Disney classics. Some of them have been in rough shape in recent times, but they are currently being refurbished for the 70th. No word on when they will be completed, but work is underway. – https://www.micechat.com/414422-disneyland-news-70th-anniversary-improvements-red-guardian-appearance-store-changes/ SnackChat: 70th Foodie Guide – Disney Eats: Disneyland 70th Celebration Foodie Guide  – Disney Parks Blog Discussion Topic: Freelance artist Jerrod Maruyama https://www.instagram.com/jmaruyama/

News: Earlier this week was St. Patrick's Day and Disneyland had limited offerings. The only things at the resort were a version of the Gray Stuff – called The Green Stuff at Red Rose Tavern, and a St. Paddy's Day t-shirt featuring Kermit the Frog. Of course, the Little Man of Disneyland, Patrick Begorra was celebrating at his tiny home in Adventureland. – https://www.micechat.com/411058-disneyland-news-constructions-projects-new-management-cutbacks/ Guests staying at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will delight in the updates happening. New entry gates are being installed to go along with the new entry gates at the Monorail station in Downtown Disney, and the entrances to Disney California Adventure and Disneyland. Two of the full-service restaurants, Storytellers Café and Napa Rose, are undergoing refurbishments, a new concierge lounge, and updated to rooms. – https://www.micechat.com/411058-disneyland-news-constructions-projects-new-management-cutbacks/ Over at Carthay Circle restaurant, there are costumes on display from the Snow White live action feature. The costumes are worn by Snow White, played by Rachel Zegler, and the Evil Queen, played by Gal Gadot. The original, animated feature Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs premiered at the original Carthay Circle Theater in Los Angeles on December 21, 1937. – https://www.micechat.com/411058-disneyland-news-constructions-projects-new-management-cutbacks/ https://mickeyblog.com/2025/03/17/live-action-snow-white-costumes-are-now-on-display-at-disneyland-resort/ This week, the Easter Foodie Guide was posted by Disney. This year, you can book a spot at Goofy's Kitchen Celebrates Springtime! at the Disneyland Hotel, or Storytellers Cafe Easter Buffet at the Grand Californian. Another Easter item is a Thumper Spring popcorn bucket. – https://disneyparksblog.com/disney-experiences/disney-eats-easter-foodie-guide-2025/ An Easter tradition is not returning this year. The coveted chocolate Easter eggs at Candy Palace are not going to be on the menu. This is a result of cost-cutting measures at the candy kitchens. There are less offerings at the moment than in the past. – https://www.micechat.com/411058-disneyland-news-constructions-projects-new-management-cutbacks/ SnackChat: Jolly Holiday – https://www.instagram.com/p/DHV_PmsOIUT/?img_index=9&igsh=d21nZHAybXRydHdm https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2025/03/18/an-iconic-disneyland-restaurant-reopens-with-new-menu-items-soon/ TriviaLand: Dapper Dans - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCM2xzj75Wk Discussion Topic: Jeff Barnes Dr. Disneyland and author of The Wisdom of Walt https://thewisdomofwalt.com/

It's fancy restaurant versus also fancy restaurant! As we descend further toward deciding which Hollywood tribute land is the best, we have to talk about signature restaurants. Which is better? The Hollywood Brown Derby has a neon sign and is a replica of a real place. The Carthay Circle Restaurant is a food place crammed into what should be a replica of a theater. It's going to be closer than you think. Check in with your pals who labored extensively (one of them) over this decision. We apologize just a but, but the real show doesn't start until 30 minutes in. So skip there if you don't want to listen to mail. I am not sure if anybody reads these because I know I rarely do. Have a swell February, folks. This year has been crazy in terms of weather, but not so far as snow! Weather experts said it was more of what is called graupel, which is snowflakes that collect water droplets on the outer surface. Either way, it was still surreal to see all the pictures and videos online of the weather event! - https://www.micechat.com/349659-disneyland-update-exciting-finds-feasts-and-oswald-meets/ One of the original steam engines of the Disneyland Railroad has returned to carrying guests on a grand circle tour of Disneyland this week. The EP Ripley, named after Edward Payson Ripley of the Santa Fe Railroad, was taken off the tracks a few years ago for repairs, and then underwent a full restoration starting in 2021. The original boiler had to be replicated, along with the headlamp and bell. The parts had to be replicated since they are not manufactured anymore. - https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2023/03/an-original-disneyland-railroad-steam-engine-is-back-on-track/ With Toontown fully opening very soon, some new things can be noticed through the construction walls. A new Minnie and Mickey fountain sculpture was installed in front of CarTOONial Park, the Wishing Tree has been installed and decorated with lanterns, and the Cafe Daisy sign has been installed for the new eatery. - https://www.micechat.com/349659-disneyland-update-exciting-finds-feasts-and-oswald-meets/ We are just a couple of weeks from the reopening of Mickey's Toontown! Starting February 4th, guests with the ability to park hop will be able to switch parks at 11am, instead of the current 1pm time. More dates have been added to the calendar at the $104 ticket level, bringing it up to nearly two months of days at the lowest ticket price. Throughout the Disney100 celebration, digital attraction photos will be complimentary starting February 4th. This is limited to digital attraction photos only. Also announced were more opportunities to join the Magic Key program throughout 2023 as pass inventory becomes available. For all the details, check out the link in our show notes. - https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2023/01/disneyland-resort-announces-new-updates-to-offer-guests-more-value-and-flexibility/ The closest location to get food in the esplanade abruptly closed this week. La Brea Bakery announced the closure of the Downtown Disney and all other non-airport locations to focus on their partnerships with distributing their baked goods. The location will make room for a temporary tenant before being demoed and becoming the location for the Porto's that was announced back at the D23 Expo in September. - https://www.ocregister.com/2023/01/09/la-brea-bakery-abruptly-closes-at-downtown-disney-after-two-decades/ Fans of great tasting, inexpensive food can now rejoice! Earl of Sandwich, the sandwich shop that was torn down with the rest of the AMC theater complex has announced its return. In the near term, it will be moving into the La Brea Bakery location, adding a sit-down option until a new location is built elsewhere in Downtown Disney, likely on the west side where construction is happening now. - https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2023/01/downtown-disney-district-welcomes-back-earl-of-sandwich-this-february-more-district-updates/ Weeklyteers who like dining in the once highly themed Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen will be sad with the changes coming when it re-opens. Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio will be the new name of the location. Guests who have experienced the new design have found it plain and mostly un-themed. The fully refurbished location should return after a "short time" according to Disney. Din Tai Fung, which was announced at the D23 Expo this year has some new concept art. In the concept art, there is a round bar surrounded by tables for diners to eat at. The new location will be on the west end of Downtown Disney, but no opening date or timeline has been announced. - https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2023/01/09/4-major-downtown-disney-restaurant-updates/#more-762543 When Magic Happens returns, there will be a dining package available to guests at the Plaza Inn. Each dining package will include an adult or child meal, plus a voucher for reserved viewing access to the second Magic Happens performance each day. The package is available every night, except for Disney After Dark events of April 9, May 13, 14, 29, June 18, July 4, and July 8, 2023. The adult meal is $45 per adult, with the child meal priced at $25 per person. Dining reservations need to be made between 1pm and 3:30pm to take advantage of the package. - https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2023/01/05/pricing-and-details-for-magic-happens-plaza-inn-dining-package-in-disneyland/ The Disney100 celebration doesn't kick off until January 27th, but you wouldn't know it from all the stuff already in the parks! New Disney100 plates, cups, and popcorn boxes have arrived at the resort. The popcorn bucket is shades of purple and white, with the Disney100 logo, with 100 Years of Wonder underneath. The coffee cups are a similar design, with the standard soda cups sporting red along with the purple, sharing the color scheme with Coca-Cola. The paper plates feature the purple design around the edges of the plate, with Disney100, 100 Years of Wonder in the white center where the food goes. - https://dlnewstoday.com/2023/01/new-disney100-plates-cups-and-popcorn-boxes-debut-at-disneyland/ From now through January 18, Magic Key Holders can pick up a Disney100 print featuring Mickey and Minnie galavanting around Sleeping Beauty Castle. The castle features the decorations for the Disney100 celebration, the fountain, and the swans in the moat. The print by Asia Ellington is distributed in the extended queue for it's a small world every day at 1pm while supplies last back in Fantasyland. If you see a long line, don't be deterred, it moves quickly. - https://www.micechat.com/343892-disneyland-update-mangled-magic-a-soggy-start/ More details have been announced for World of Color - ONE coming to Disney California Adventure later this month. The viewing areas will be accessible through the virtual queueing system in the Disneyland app. A virtual queue reservation is not required, but highly recommended. - https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2023/01/dazzling-details-of-world-of-color-one-at-disney-california-adventure-park-debuting-jan-27/ New Disney100 standard popcorn buckets have arrived as well. For $12.25, you can pick up the standard white bucket, wrapped with the 20's art-deco style and Disney characters, with Disney100 100 Years of Wonder logo. Disneyland is represented by Sleeping Beauty Castle on one side, and Carthay Circle theater on the other side. - https://wdwnt.com/2023/01/new-disney100-standard-and-magic-key-holder-exclusive-popcorn-buckets-arrive-at-disneyland-resort/ Weeklyteers who will be visiting the parks in the near term should be aware of some of the refurbishments that are happening now and in the near future. The Adventureland Treehouse will continue to be down until later in 2023, Mickey's Toontown will be closed until March 8th, it's a small world is removing the holiday overlay now through January 19th, Indiana Jones is down until Spring, 2023, along with the annual refurbishment of Grizzly River Run. The Disney Gallery and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln are transforming for the Disney100 until January 25th. For future closures, Radiator Springs Racers is closing from January 17th through 23rd, Mickey's PhilharMagic from January 24th through February 3rd, Haunted Mansion will be removing the holiday overlay from January 30th through February 9th, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind is also down January 30th through February 9th. - https://www.micechat.com/343892-disneyland-update-mangled-magic-a-soggy-start/ Patrick Begorra, known as the Little Man of Disneyland, is returning in an all-new story and Little Golden Book. In this new adventure, Mickey and friends help Patrick find his lost hat in Disneyland. Another Little Golden Book is Santa Shops at Disneyland, which follows Santa, his reindeer, and some elf's yearly Christmas Eve visit to Disneyland. The Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage has set sail again, taking guests on the voyage under the seas to find Nemo. The attraction has been closed for over two and a half years – since before the COVID shutdown and was planned to come back in the winter of 2021, but was extended until this week. Other than the refreshed look and Hank on the surface, not much has been updated. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/07/21/how-disneyland-refurbished-everything-on-finding-nemo-submarine-voyage/ Guests have two more spots in DCA to take a look at wait times — a definite win for people avoiding using the mobile app. The display screens near Spider-man and Radiator Springs Racers are new wait-time monitors for the park's busy attractions, just like the one by Carthay Circle. – https://www.micechat.com/327870-disneyland-update-submarines-dive-as-passholders-wait-to-resubscribe/ The Main Street Electrical Parade may be set to glow away…again…on September 1, but not before one more celebration. On the Esplanade, guests can take in a custom wrapped Honda HR-V in honor of the 50th anniversary of the parade. It's complete with characters, colors and even a giant snail on top. No word on how long this display will be out. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/07/main-street-electrical-parade-50th-anniversary-wrapped-car-parked-in-disneyland-esplanade/ Disney's spooky season is never complete without apperances and merch featuring the Nightmare Before Christmas — and we've got some already. Bones Coffe is collaborating with the Mouse with five unique blends of Coffee. Try Ruff Weather, The Pumpkin King, Mudslide Boogie, Frog's Breath of Santa Jack, available at a link in our show notes. Each bag is priced at $17. – https://www.bonescoffee.com/collections/bones-coffe-x-disneys-tim-burtons-the-nightmare-before-christmas You may have seen Chicago turn its River green for St. Patrick's Day, but guests were surprised to hear the water in the Jungle Cruise went pink! Something happened to cause a daytime cleaning of the rivers, shutting down the ride for some time. Once the color returned to the expected green shades, guests were welcome back aboard. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/07/20/why-disneyland-turned-the-jungle-cruise-river-pink/ Another food service venue is adding mobile ordering. Rancho del Zocalo is swapping half of its ordering space to mobile order pickup. MiceChat says it says it could start up any time this week. – https://www.micechat.com/327870-disneyland-update-submarines-dive-as-passholders-wait-to-resubscribe/ It looks like the paint job on Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen is winding down. Most of the outside features a white color with grey trim. Guests can still see some orange around the balconies, but concept art says that should be going away. – https://www.micechat.com/327870-disneyland-update-submarines-dive-as-passholders-wait-to-resubscribe/ Disney employees have a new option for their education. Anika Noni Rose, the voice of Tiana from Princess and the Frog, was interviewed on the “Kelly and Ryan” talkshow and made a comment that the Splash Mountain refurbishment had a projected opening of 2024. This is the first time that a solid timefram has been spoken about. Disney would not confirm of deny the information, but released a statement that they will have more to share at the Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans in July. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ At Star Wars Celebration last week, it was announced at one of the panels that new scenes would be coming to Star Tours. No details have been released on what the scenes will be, but it is always a welcome addition to have more options. Once we know more, we will be sure to talk about it on a future episode! – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/05/27/disney-hints-at-new-star-tours-scenes/ As we reported last week, Radiator Springs Racers was forced to close after an incident where smoke was coming from one of the ride vehicles. After a 10-day closure, the attraction reopened on Friday, June 3rd. Still no official word on what the cause of the incident was, but a former Disneyland Maintenance Cast Member told MiceChat that the ride vehicles break down regularly and curcuit breakers in each car will cause the vehicle to stop when problems arise. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/06/03/disneyland-reopens-radiator-springs-racers-after-smoking-car-closes-ride-for-more-than-a-week/ and https://www.micechat.com/322588-disneyland-news-radiator-springs-racers-incident-blue-bayou-return-info/ and https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland/fantasmic-dinner-packages/availability-modal/ Guests at Disneyland can dine at a favorite restaurant that has recently reopened in a limited capacity. The Blue Bayou has returned and is not taking online reservations, but guests can join the walk-up wait list for lunch or dinner at the podium at the restaurant, or through the Disneyland mobile app. Pirates of the Caribbean is still closed for refurbishment, so the view may not be as magical as normal. The Fantasmic! dining package lists reservation times starting on June 16th. – https://twitter.com/DisneyParks/status/1532803837068824578 MiceChat was able to obtain aerial photos of Toon Town progress this week. From the air, we can see that all of the pavement in the land has been removed and is currently dirt. The facade of the El CapiTOON theater is looking more and more complete. The area where the new park will be located has been cleared and awaiting work to start. Both fountains in the land have also been removed, along with the gazebo in front of the City Hall building. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ The former entrance to Tarzan's Treehouse has come out from behind walls this week. The area is much more open now for guest traffic heading out of Adventureland toward the bridge over the Pirates queue. Once again, there is not any theming on the new concrete. The lack of the entrance also allows parts of New Orleans Square to be visible throughout Adventureland. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ We are one week into June, and Celebrate Soulfully has officially kicked off at Disneyland. In Disney California Adventure, groups have been performing at the Hollywood Pictures Backlot stage, and in front of Carthay Circle daily, and seasonal food offerings scattered about. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ For anyone who has never seen Fantasmic! or would like some tips on how to best experience it, the Orange County Register posted some tips. Among the best tips are to make sure to find a spot in front of one of the mist screens. They are located in front of the island, and on both sides. If you find yourself in the middle of the screens, the view isn't as good. The other stand out tip is to catch the second show of the night. The second show is always less crowded and it is impossible to sit for hours holding a spot since the entire area is cleared after the first show, and fireworks afterward. The longest you will have to wait is about an hour. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/06/03/7-tips-for-watching-the-return-of-fantasmic-at-disneyland/ Much like the electrical parade, there is a favorite treat at Disneyland that keeps on returning. The Fluffernutter churro is available once again at Willie's Churros on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure. The churro is a standard churro, topeed with a peanut butter sauce, marshmallow sauce, and chocolate chips. The churro is available for $6.75. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/06/review-fantastic-fluffernutter-churro-returns-to-disney-california-adventure/ When we were there last month, there was a line of walls up in front of Ariel's Undersea Adventure. Those walls have finally come down to reveal that they were just replacing the concrete in this area. This is just some of the walkway repaving that has been going on around the entire resort. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ Discussion Topic: Nicolasa from the Disneyana Fan Club

Fantasmic! debuted on May 13, 1992 at Disneyland. Over the years, the show has added and subtracted different scenes and elements. Some of those include the 2009 upgrade to digital projection and the current 45-foot tall dragon, known as Murphy! In 2017, new scenes and songs were added including Aladdin. The show has been performed more than 11,000 times since its debut. The Red Car Trolley should be traveling on the tracks on Buena Vista Street and down Hollywood Land. No exact date was mentioned, but it should return before the full swing of summer. Fans of Trader Sams may be excited with updates to the menu at the popular restaurant at the Disneyland Hotel. Mirabel will be returning to Disney California Adventure for meet and greets at the Paradise Gardens Park. Mirabel was last seen in Frontierland, after originally starting out in DCA at the same location she is now returning to. Members and allies of the LGBTQIA+ community celebrate pride every June. With all the controversy about the Florida “don't say gay” bill and Disney, the company has decided from now until June 30th, all profits from any pride merchandise will be donated to LGBTQIA+ organizations. News: We have an opening date for Avenger’s Campus! The new area in Disney California Adventure is landing on June 4th. This is just over a month after the parks reopen to the general public. The saying at the bottom of the nametag is being changed to “Bringing Back the Magic” in place of “Where Dreams Come True” that is on the current nametags. – https://www.micechat.com/287392-disneyland-update-you-snooze-you-lose/ When hinges creak in doorless chambers, when strange and frightening sounds echo though the halls, that is when new news from the Haunted Mansion is present! What a great week for news of the changes that have happened since some of these attractions were last open to guests. New curtains, wallpaper, decor inside and out, and a few more surprises have been added and refreshed in the stately manor. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/04/haunted-mansion-home-improvements-at-disneyland-park/ and https://www.micechat.com/287447-disneylands-haunted-mansion-gets-spirited-updates/ Kim Irvine got the pleasure of showing off the completed King Arthur Carrousel on a video posted by Disney today. Of course attractions have been cycling, preparing for guests in just a couple of weeks! In addition to this, the Incredibles have been seen on Pixar Pier. – https://www.micechat.com/287392-disneyland-update-you-snooze-you-lose/ With the reopening of Disneyland, there have been questions on how Rise of the Resistance is going to operate, since it was only open for a limited time before the parks closed. Just like in Walt Disney World, it will be on a virtual queue system through the Disneyland mobile app. Boarding groups will be opened in the morning, and once in the afternoon. Guests that have Disneyland reservations can request a boarding group in the morning. For the afternoon group, you have to have entered one of the parks prior to requesting a boarding group. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/04/attractions-and-entertainment-reopening-details-for-disneyland-resort-theme-parks/ Head of the Disney Parks, Josh D’Amaro showed off some impressive technology this past week during the press event to announce the opening of Avenger’s Campus. The awe inspiring things that he showed off were a Groot walking animatronic, and – the real show stopper – what appeared to be a real lightsaber! There was a patent filed a couple of years ago for the technology that is assumed to be running the device. What makes this version different from the ones that guests can construct themselves is that the blade seemingly extends from nowhere! No word on when or where these will appear in the parks, but it is expected to debut with the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Hotel in Disney World. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/04/09/disney-teases-groot-walking-animatronic-and-real-star-wars-lightsaber/ and https://wdwnt.com/2021/04/how-disneys-real-star-wars-lightsaber-works/ With the return of the parks, some of your favorite Disney characters will be hanging around the parks. Characters will be available for socially distant photos with guests at a number of locations, including Main Street, Mickey’s Toon Town, the Royal Theatre in Fantasyland, Carthay Circle, the Pixar Pier Bandshell, and more. For a complete list of locations, check out the link in the show notes. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/04/attractions-and-entertainment-reopening-details-for-disneyland-resort-theme-parks/ and https://wdwnt.com/2021/04/disneyland-announces-character-interactions-for-april-30th-reopening/ One dining location that we were sad to see closed in California Adventure has reopened for guests! Flo’s V8 Cafe is open once again for the remainder of the Touch of Disney event. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/04/09/there-was-a-surprise-restaurant-reopening-in-disney-california-adventure-today/ Much like the TV show itself, the Wandavision photo op has ended at Touch of Disney. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/04/09/whats-new-in-disneyland-resort-black-widow-merchandise-character-encounters-and-more/ Josh D’Amaro posted an update heralding in the new 5th key into the 4 keys of Safety, Courtesy, Show and Efficiency.   This year the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are playing their 55th season down the road from Disneyland. Adam explores the relationship between America’s pastime and America’s favorite theme park. SUPPORT THE SHOW ON PATREON - OUR SOURCES Three Heavy Hitters Roles in the Disney-Angels Tale, LA Times, May 1995 Angels-Disneyland Doubleheader on YesterlandA History of the Angels on Halos Heaven - ADAM'S SCRIPT Sunday, October 27, 2002. 8 days before my 17th birthday. Edison International Field of Anaheim, one freeway exit south of Disneyland. I was watching this baseball game in Redlands, California, about a 45 minute drive away. The Anaheim Angels, my favorite baseball team, played the San Francisco Giants in the 7th and final game of the World Series. Taking a 4-1 lead into the 9th inning, closer Troy Percival had runners on 1st and 2nd with two outs. Just one pitch away from turning the Angels into World Champions for the first time in their 41 year history. Center fielder Kenny Lofton stepped to the plate representing the tying run. Lofton’s favorite pitch was low and inside. If Percival made a mistake low and in...this could suddenly be a tie game. Luckily for my adolescent psyche...that didn’t happen. If you’re a professional sports fan, and you were lucky enough to see your team win the championship during your formative years, you know the emotions I was experiencing that night. I honestly couldn’t remember a time in my life when I’d felt happier. Jump ahead a couple months. A few of my cousins were visiting from Ohio to spend New Year’s with me, my brother, and my parents. Like anyone visiting California, naturally, my cousins wanted to go to Disneyland, and we were happy to oblige.  But before that happened, I needed to make a very important stop. A week earlier, on Christmas morning, one of my presents was actually a raincheck. A promise from my parents that when we were in Anaheim, we’d pay a visit to the Angels team store and they’d buy me a bright red, Angels World Champion windbreaker, the very same jacket worn by the players and coaches. That jacket brought back all those same emotions from that night in October. And it bears mentioning, even though it was December, we’re talking about Southern California. It was in the high 60s that day! Definitely not heavy jacket weather. But you better believe that jacket never left my torso that day. I still have that jacket. It doesn’t get a whole lot of use these days. It still fits, but it’s a bit more snug around the midsection than when I was in high school. A year ago, on this channel, we released an episode called “The Heart and Soul of Brooklyn”. In that episode, I told a story about a group of young boys living in Brooklyn in the summer of 1955, visiting first Coney Island and then Ebbets Field. In the process of creating and hosting that story, I realized that the world of baseball and the world of theme parks often run side-by-side and have a lot of similar elements. They’re both fun, they’re both great family outings, and maybe I’m getting overly sentimental here, but they both have an element of adventure and...magic. It’s now been almost two decades since the Fall of 2002, and the Angels are beginning their 60th season. They haven’t returned to the World Series...they really haven’t even gotten close. Don’t get me started on that topic.  It’s baseball season, and with Disneyland set to open in a few weeks, it’s also theme park season. Unlike last season, Disneyland and Angel Stadium will actually have visitors this year. Beyond geographic location, the two organizations, Disney and the Angels, share a lot of common ground. It’s April 1961. John F Kennedy, the first US President born in the 20th century, has been in the White House for about 100 days. Yuri Gagaran wins major bragging rights for the Soviet Union by becoming the first man in space. Fugitive Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichman is brought to trial in Jerusalem. And in Los Angeles, a new baseball team takes the field for their first ever home game. 1961 was a transformative year for the American pastime. Baseball is notoriously slow to change, and true to form, the same sixteen teams had existed for six decades. Some of them had relocated, most notably the Dodgers moving from Brooklyn to Los Angeles, and the Giants moving from New York City to San Francisco. But they were still the same ball clubs. Frustrated by the static nature of professional baseball, which if you’re unfamiliar is composed of the National and American Leagues, plans were drawn up for third league, the Continental League. They had their sights set on professional ball teams in Minneapolis, Toronto, Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta, a few of the many regions that baseball-loving Americans were moving to. Before the Continental League could take shape, Major League Baseball struck a deal. They would do something just short of sacrilegious. They would expand. The next two years would see the creation of the New York Mets, Houston Astros, Washington Senators...and the Los Angeles Angels. The Angels would play their first season just south of Downtown LA, at Wrigley Field. If you’re a baseball fan like me, the name of that park probably rings a bell. It shares a name with the Cubs longtime home park, on the north side of Chicago. And no, that’s not a coincidence. William Wrigley, the millionaire owner of the chewing gum company and the Chicago Cubs, built the park in the 1920s for two minor league teams. But in 1961, big league baseball moved in. The previous winter, several baseball executives descended on the baseball owners meetings in St Louis with the hope of putting in a successful bid for the new Los Angeles Angels. Gene Autry, better known as the Singing Cowboy, an established country crooner, radio personality, and movie star would purchase and own the Angels for the next 36 years. The Angels home opener that year was a disappointment, drawing just 12,000 fans, about 50% of the park’s capacity. That year, they averaged just 7,000 fans per game, one-third the total of the Dodgers, playing down the road at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Despite not drawing many fans, the Angels won 70 games that season. Not too shabby for a hodgepodge mix of out-of-shape veterans and career minor leaguers. But, for their whole tenure in Los Angeles, the Angels struggled to attract as much attention as their National League counterpart, they also struggled to fill the stands. This was especially disappointing from 1962 to 1965 when the Angels and Dodgers shared Dodger Stadium. It was time for the Angels to move out of Los Angeles and find their own identity. That’s where Anaheim came into the picture. In just seven short years, Anaheim went from a dusty citrus-growing town to the home of the most popular theme park on earth; Disneyland. In 1965, Anaheim got another major tourist attraction: The only American League baseball team in the state of California. While announcing the construction of the new Anaheim Stadium just four miles south of Disneyland, the team also announced a new name: The California Angels. If the team’s move to Disneyland’s backyard seems too perfect to be a coincidence, well...that hunch is correct. Walt Disney was a member of the Angels board of directors from 1960 until his death in 1966, and he was a central figure in the team’s move to Orange County. As fellow family-friendly Hollywood entertainers, Walt Disney and Gene Autry both saw the benefit of giving Americans another option for a family friendly outing. You could visit Anaheim and see Mickey Mantle and Mickey Mouse on the same weekend! 1966,the team’s first year in Anaheim, saw 1.4 million fans visit the ballpark, the highest attendance in the American League. In 67, to promote the opening of Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Carribean, Autry teamed up with the Disney company to offer Angels-Disneyland doubleheader. For $5, fans could buy a reserved seat at a game against the Cleveland Indians, and a special nighttime ticket to Disneyland, giving them access to the park from 8 at night to 1 in the morning. Just as Disney began to experience some of their worst years, the Angels entered some of their best. They acquired Nolan Ryan, one of the best pitchers in the history of the game, and would go on to win their division in 1979, 1982, and 1986. Disneyland and the Angels remained friendly neighbors, but for the most part, separate and unrelated entities throughout the 70s and 80s. But that began to change in the early 1990s. In the middle of the 1994 season, just as the Disney Decade was gaining steam, the studio released Angels in the Outfield, starring a very young Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as well as Christopher Lloyd, Best known previously as Doc Brown from the Back to the Future franchise. Lloyd plays Al, who leads a team of Angels on a mission of divine intervention to help the team win the pennant. It’s cheesy. It’s sappy. It’s all the things Disney gets accused of on a daily basis, but it still gives me the warm fuzzies.  Disney’s new CEO Michael Eisner had an interest in sports that went beyond the silver screen. After purchasing and debuting the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim the previous year, Eisner now had his sights set on the Angels. By this point, Gene Autry was in his 80s and in failing health, having handed over day-to-day operations to his wife Jackie. She agreed to sell 25% of the team to Disney in 1994. After Gene Autry passed away four years later, Disney bought the team outright for just over $100 million. During the years of Disney ownership, the team changed their name for the second time, from the California Angels to the Anaheim Angels. With some financial assistance from the city of Anaheim, the team also gave the stadium a much-overdue makeover. Early in their ownership, Disney made a big blunder. The company re-designed the team’s uniforms. Beginning in the 1997 season, the Angels played in blue and white pinstripes, with a logo that looked like it was straight out of Toontown. Many fans compared it to something an adult softball team would wear. In 2002, the team did away with their five-year mistake and took the field in classic red and white uniforms. The uniforms didn’t help pre-season predictions for the team, as most oddsmakers expected them to place third in their four team division. When the Angels finished the first 20 games of the season with a 6 and 14 record, even those projections seemed optimistic. But they turned it around. Not unlike the original 1961 Angels, the 02 (oh two) team was scrappy. A collection of veterans and newcomers, without a lot of household names. They’d go on to surprise nearly everyone by ending the season with 99 wins. In early November, they celebrated their world championship with...what else? A parade down Main Street USA. Though Disney sold the team in 2003, the relationship between the two hasn’t ended. Most notably, when Angel Stadium hosted the MLB All-Star Game in 2010, Disney created 36 baseball-themed Mickey Mouse statues and placed them throughout the Disneyland Resort. I’ve always loved the fact that my favorite baseball team plays down the road from my favorite theme park. When two things you love, and that you’re passionate about, intersect like that, it gives you all the warm fuzzies. I love food, too, and I get that same overwhelmingly happy feeling when I sit down and have a really good meal at Carthay Circle at Disney California Adventure, or Blue Bayou at Disneyland Wherever you’re surrounded by people who love all the same things you do, those are the really good moments in life. Maybe we used to take those places and experiences for granted a little bit. But I have a feeling, after 2020, we’re never going to do that again. Whether it’s a baseball game, a football game, a trip to a theme park, a family BBQ...whatever part of your life that features your favorite things and your favorite people, I hope you get to a whole lot more of it this year. To the Angels, happy 60th season. Play Ball!

So much food will be available at A Taste of Disney, including many resort favorites. Some of our highlights include Dole Whips, Fluffernutter Churros, corn dogs, lobster nachos, some beef skewers from Bengal BBQ, and more! There are so many options, it will be impossible to not find something that you want to eat, and will probably want to attend a few days to eat it all! – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/03/foodie-guide-to-a-touch-of-disney-at-disney-california-adventure-park-opening-march-18/ and https://www.micechat.com/282589-updates-disney-california-adventure-food-and-wine-event-to-take-over-much-of-the-park/ With the upcoming use of the Mickey and Friends parking structure to be utilized for A Touch of Disney, the tram route to Downtown Disney has been refreshed with some 65th anniversary banners and decorations. The tram route will open to guests for walking to Downtown Disney, as there will not be any tram service at this time. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/02/photos-tram-route-decorated-with-flags-and-banner-for-belated-65th-anniversary-of-disneyland-resort/ With the continued closure of the parks beyond A Touch of Disney, the local politicians are trying to help accelerate the limited reopening as completely operating theme parks at a reduced capacity at a lower tier of the COVID-19 Blueprint for a Safer Economy. LA County voted in favor of AB 420, which allows theme parks to reopen at 25% capacity in Tier 3, instead of tier 4. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/02/la-county-votes-in-favor-of-bill-allowing-disneyland-resort-universal-studios-hollywood-to-open-in-tier-3-of-california-governors-covid-19-plan/ and https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/02/25/news-bill-to-reopen-disneyland-sooner-moves-forward/ Legacy Passholders continue to have added perks to their non-defunct passes, this time, there will be some exclusive perks and extras during the A Touch of Disney event. Permits were filed to begin work on transforming the areas to be updated. Scrims will be installed around the areas to be worked on, allowing the attraction to stay running for guests. The construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2021. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/02/permits-filed-to-begin-construction-of-new-culturally-sensitive-jungle-cruise-ride-scenes-at-disneyland-park/ Guests with reservations at Carthay Circle can now use mobile check-in to notify a host that you are ready for your reservation, without having to stand in line to speak to a host. Reservations can also be made through the mobile system, if you can snag one! – https://www.micechat.com/283944-disneyland-update-the-billion-dollar-question/ Since the opening of the Star Wars Trading Post, waits to access the location have exceeded 4 hours at times, resulting in long waits to get into Downtown Disney. There is a virtual wait list, but you have to be inside of Downtown Disney to get “in line”, so that leaves guests wandering around for up to 4 hours, keeping the shopping area busy. This could be improved by allowing guests to register for the queue before arriving at the resort. – https://www.micechat.com/283944-disneyland-update-the-billion-dollar-question/ Earlier this year, guests were able to begin purchasing interactive remote control “Spider-Bots” that will be part of the new Spider-Man attraction coming to Avenger’s Campus when the parks reopen. The ears are made of a black velvet material, with a stitched Mickey, with colors reminiscent of Mickey’s Fun Wheel radiating outward. Disney California Adventure is stitched on the side of the band. The system is in testing at the moment, but it may help speed up your shopping experience. Guests will grab a designated shopping bag, scan items you wish to buy and place them in the bag, pay for the items through your phone, and then show a cast member a QR code as you exit. – https://www.micechat.com/276793-disneyland-update-two-steps-forward-and-two-steps-back/ With the closure of the parks this holiday season, a gap in holiday entertainment for some guests has appeared, and Disney has offered a solution. Guests who would like to reserve a time to dine at the restaurant on Buena Vista Street can head into the Disneyland app and schedule a time to dine. There is still the option to walk up and be seated, but Disneyland highly recommends a reservation. Reservations are open as far out as the parks calendar, but have been very popular. Also note, if you have a dining reservation, you can enter Buena Vista Street up to one hour before your reservation, with your entire party present. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2020/11/25/disneyland-announces-carthay-lounge-dining-reservations-experiences-technical-difficulties/ and https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disney-california-adventure/carthay-circle-lounge For guests that are lucky enough to get into Buena Vista Street, there are some new holiday treats over at Trolley Treats. Christmas Day will have a delayed opening of 10am. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2020/11/29/update-downtown-disney-extends-hours-into-the-new-year-at-disneyland-resort/ Once again Salt and Straw in Downtown Disney have whipped up another fun flavor for guests. The new flavors will be available through the holiday season. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2020/11/27/spiked-eggnog-ice-cream-check-out-the-2020-holiday-salt-straw-ice-cream-flavors-in-downtown-disney/ With holiday shopping in full swing, shopDisney has started offering same day shipping on select items through Instacart. The premiere annual pass is the pass that includes access to all the US Disney theme parks on both coasts. The refund checks are for the full amount and not just for one coast or the other. No word on if this was a requested refund, or something automated. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2020/11/disney-now-sending-full-refund-checks-to-premier-annual-passholders-due-to-extended-disneyland-resort-closure/ LA County, which is adjacent to Orange County where Disneyland is located, has entered a second “safer at home” order through December 20th. In addition to theses cast members, another 37,000 are on furlough as of October 3rd. Before the pandemic, Disneyland employed 32,000 cast members, and Walt Disney World employed 77,000. – https://t.co/eVIKkZIINM Not only has Disneyland been effected by the increase in cases around the world, but two other Disney parks around the world are closing down again. Disneyland Paris, which was planning on opening for the holiday season will be closed until February 12th per government rules, along with Hong Kong Disneyland, which was just reopened for the second time for the 15th anniversary, also mandated by the government there. News: Buena Vista Street has reopened and guests have descended upon the resort to step foot inside of a Disney park again. For those who may go in the near future, you will have to pay $10 to park in the Downtown Disney parking lot, stores are capped at 25% per state mandate, so be prepared to wait. To actually get access to Buena Vista Street, guests must wait in a queue or scan a daily-changing QR code to join the virtual queue. Once you get inside, there are also waits to enter the shops. – https://www.micechat.com/275982-disneyland-update-holiday-hopes-and-humbugs/ With the opening of Buena Vista Street, the Storytellers statue that features Mickey and Walt when first arriving in California has been refurbished. In Disneyland, the Partners statue was also refurbished. Over time, the bronze had oxidized, and because of the applied patina, acrylic polymer and wax, it required a more intensive process than just a simple cleaning or polishing. Over four days, an artisan utilized a process using crushed walnut shells to gently strip the figure down to the bare bronze. After cleaning, various chemicals were applied and heated with a blowtorch to create a reaction and fuse with the bronze. The figure was coated in a polymer to protect the patina, then coated with a very thin layer of wax. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2020/11/a-special-surprise-to-commemorate-mickeys-birthday-at-disneyland-resort/ Avenger’s Campus may not be open at Disney California Adventure at the moment, but you can still pick up your very own Spider-Bot! Most of the buildings that can be seen from guest accessible areas look in place, and nearly complete. With the pace and amount of work being done, this new area could open with the rest of the park sometime next year. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2020/11/19/photos-construction-is-moving-along-at-avengers-campus-in-disneyland/ Guests that would like to order a drink from Award Wieners can also purchase a Green or a Red Mickey Jingle Bell Glow Cube for just $4.99. For a more upscale dining experience, some of the new options at Carthay Circle might hit the spot. Baked Bay Scallops, Moroccan Roasted Chicken Meatballs, Pumpkin Ice Cream Sundae, and available. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2020/11/21/whats-new-at-disney-california-adventure-buena-vista-street-re-opens-with-new-menus-holiday-merchandise-and-more/ and https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2020/11/18/whats-new-at-downtown-disney-a-crazy-mickey-shake-iconic-mickey-ears-holiday-decorations-and-more/#more-408166 Without an opening date for the parks, and even knowing if graduation celebrations will be allowed next year, Disneyland has canceled the 2021 Grad Nite. Disney’s statement said “We know how disappointing this will be to the many graduates who were looking forward to celebrating at the Disneyland Resort, and we thank you for your understanding during these challenging and unprecedented times. We look forward to celebrating your students in years to come.” – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2020/11/24/news-grad-nite-2021-has-been-canceled-at-disneyland-resort/ Disney fans have been very excited about the Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway toys available at McDonald’s as part of a Happy Meal order. However, in just the last couple of days, the toys have been pulled from the restaurants. The QR codes to register to win a WDW trip were having some issues and new toys without the codes are on the way to restaurants now and should be in stock again soon. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2020/11/mcdonalds-temporarily-stops-selling-happy-meals-featuring-mickey-and-minnies-runaway-railway-toys-due-to-error/ Once again, a new Disney Paper Parks creation has been posted online. When the area was announced, there was no firm date, just sometime in 2020, but it was widely speculated to be in the Summer. This post from Disney confirms that. Although Summer 2020 could be anywhere from June through August, so there is still a lot of wiggle room for the new land. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/12/avengers-campus-at-disney-california-adventure-park-to-begin-recruiting-super-heroes-in-summer-2020/With Disneyland getting Rise of the Resistance after Hollywood Studios out in Florida, Disneyland will get the benefit of the kinks being worked out when it opened out in Florida. The newest color – Redd, with two “d’s” reminiscent of Redd from Pirates of the Caribbean, is so popular that it is nearly sold out at the resort. The new Minnie Ears are covered in sequins and are a nice red color. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/12/24/news-redd-minnie-ears-are-nearly-sold-out-in-disneyland/As if there weren’t enough attraction closures already fro 2020, there are currently no operating hours for King Arthur’s Carousel starting on January 21st. In this episode, Daniel, Tommy, and Chris wonder, if Star Wars Galaxy's Edge will be dumbed down. Also, Tommy is going to the Oggie Boogie Bash and we search the internet for some tips. Oggie Boogie Bash Tips Enter Disney California Adventure 3 hours before the event, and do attractions at your leisure. Prioritize Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark and the Cars Land “Haul-O-Ween” seasonal attraction overlays if you want some Halloween fun. If Halloween character meet & greets are a priority, do the ones around Carthay Circle starting 1 hour before the official Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween Party start time. Line up for Kingdom Hearts, Disney Afternoon, or Classic Disney Friends meet & greets immediately before the official party start time. Finish character meet & greets thirty minutes before the Frightfully Fun Parade steps off. Grab a parade spot near Paradise Garden Park for a low crowds location or facing Carthay Circle Theater for a photogenic spot. After the Frightfully Fun Parade, rush to the next high-priority meet & greet you missed or Villains Grove Trail at Redwood Creek. Do the Treat Trails, prioritizing Oogie Boogie, Mad Hatter, and Dr. Facilier (all of whom are in Hollywood Land). Grab a front zone viewing spot for World of Color – Villainous by entering near Golden Zephyr roughly 30 minutes before the second showing. California, Here We Come!!!! – That’s what you hear headed down Buena Vista Street toward Carthay Circle at Disney’s California Adventure, multiple times a day. The News Boys are arriving on the Red Car Trolley with a copy of today’s late edition.  Did you see that headline?  “Walt Disney Arrives in Hollywood” “Mr Disney, he traveled west just a few bucks to his name.  Along the way, he met Mickey Mouse, and the world will never be the same.  He had a suitcase and a dream.” Ok, so that’s not exactly how it happened, but it does make for great show.  Like the Five and Dime, the News Boys have been a part of Disney’s California Adventure since the re-dedication in June of 2012.   With Carthay Circle Theater as the backdrop, the show drops us right into the 1920s, well 1923 to be exact, when a young Walt Disney arrived with his suitcase and a dream.  The show’s theme fits perfectly into the 1920s influenced Buena Vista Street.  The inspirational show is all about following your dream, with an original song, Suitcase and a Dream.  With 1920s inspired classics, the show is a perfect distraction from the hustle and bustle of the park.  Check your times guides and be sure to keep an eye out for Mickey himself, as he proves that he has what it takes to make it in Hollywoodland. This episode is the full version of “The Red Car Trolley News Boys” from Disney’s California Adventure – be sure to subscribe for all of the Episodes!

The Five and Dime fit the 1920s theme of Buena Vista Street perfectly and set the stage for your day at Disney’s California Adventure.  The 15-minute show has been performed daily since the re-dedication of DCA in 2012.  The group sold everything they had back in Chicago, purchased the jalopy, and drove all the way to Hollywood to make it big in the movie business.  Dime, the singer, is quick to drop her microphone and start the jazz with 1920s and 30s classics like “I Got Rhythm” and “Ain’t We Got Fun”.  All that fun proves too much for Goofy to resist joining in on the action.  As the story goes, the Five fellas from Chicago and the female vocalist named Dime hit it big when they met a fellow midwestern dreamer named Walt Disney! Check your times guide; between The Five and Dime and The Red Car Trolley News Boys, there is always something hopping in Carthay Circle.

Naturally, this makes the Crew reflect on their favorite 'walks' around the Disney parks and just what truly defines a walk. It's the early 1940's here in Carthay Circle, the weather is perfect, and the drinks are chilled to perfection, so grab your seat next and settle in for another classy evening with your friends, The Disney Crew.

Visitors can watch the artists create new artwork at the Lifestyle Stage in Hollywood Land then meet them in person at Off the Page later in the day. Mouseplanet has a schedule of who will be appearing at all of these events. Mouseplanet did a really good job of putting this all together. One thing that is being offered to annual Passholders is a special Tasting Passport and a lounge to hang out in. This pass costs $39 bucks (down from $45) and gives you 6 tasting portions from the Festival marketplace booths not including alcohol. If you use it and get 6 of the most expensive items on the menus you have a few bucks. Pretty much every website says it is a rip off. Even after they lowered the price of it. For the first time in way too long, the Food and Wine Festival has returned to Disney California Adventure. It's going on this month every Friday, Saturday and Sunday ending on May 1st. It's a celebration of the tastes of California and an opportunity to sample an assortment of beverages and tasty treats you can't otherwise find at DCA. You can eat and drink your way from Carthay Circle to Paradise Pier at 8 different Festival Marketplaces, plus there are a number of beverage seminars and culinary demonstrations happening throughout the event. In Hollywood Land, they've set up a celebrity kitchen. For $99 per person you can enjoy presentations by famous chefs like Andrew Sutton, Guy Fieri, Keegan Gerhard, G. Gavin and Graham Eliot--and no, not all those presentations are sold out yet. You can find out more by visiting https://disneyland.disney.go.com/events-tours/disney-california-adventure/food-and-wine-festival. Last weekend, Team Mouse Castle dropped by the Food and Wine Festival and, oh yes, we sampled as many culinary offerings as we could. Saturday night, we all got together at Napa Rose inside the Grand Californian Hotel and shared our thoughts about Food and Wine, how it compares to similar past events at DCA and especially how much of a value it is for guests. Team Mouse Castle overindulges in food and wine—what could possibly go wrong?  Enjoy!www.TheMouseCastle.comRSS Feed: http://themousecastle.libsyn.com/rss

This week, Paul and Tairy attempt to rectify the mistakes from the last show #336...For those of you wondering who was right when Tairy was challenging the cast member about the trolley number, this is the text from the Plaque at the "Storytellers" Statue in Carthay Circle at DCA…It was July 1923. I packed all of my worldly goods – a pair of trousers, a checkered coat, a lot of drawing materials and the last of the fairy tale reels we had made – in a kind of frayed cardboard suitcase. And with that wonderful audacity of youth, I went to Hollywood, arriving there with just forty dollars. It was a big day the day I got on that Santa Fe California Limited. I was just free and happy!  ~Walt DisneyThe red car (#623) would have been named 7/23, but they wanted 2 different "series" of red car with different paint jobs, so they used the 600 series paint and "fib" a little during the red car narration.  However, I am SURE that most of the red car trolley cast members are unaware of this little date swap or, at least, have been told to act unaware.Enjoy!*********************************WTTM24 SEASON 2 IS GOING STRONG!Search "WTTM" in iTunesGet a new hour our Paul & Greg's day at Disneyland every 2 weeks! It's the most magical concept in podcasting!*********************************DOUBLE YOUR WTTM & WTTM24 FUN!BECOME A RECURRING SUPPORTERfor as little as $5.00/month !http://www.windowtothemagic.com*********************************THE WTTM PODCAST APPLICATIONSfor iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch & now for Android & Kindle FireMobile access to the shows, and MUCH more! The WindowtotheMagic Podcast App:Apple:  http://tinyurl.com/wttmappAndroid: http://tinyurl.com/wttmapp3Get the App, and inside is a coupon good for $15.00 off a Multi-DVD order from the WTTM DVD Store... exclusive for wttm app users only. The WTTM24 Podcast AppFOR iOS:    http://tinyurl.com/wttm24appFREE! with the ability to get premium content with a support subscription. Also Available for Android!http://tinyurl.com/wttm24app2*********************************Visit Disneyland in the first 5 years it existed!THE ORIGINAL DISNEYLAND: THE 1950'sThe new DVD from WTTM and Spotted Dog Productions created from the actual family home movies of over 50 families that visited Disneyland from 1955-1959.Exclusive footage never seen before of Walt's Dream shot by the guests who experienced it.http://store.windowtothemagic.com/tj-orig-dl.html*********************************Email me if you read this…  I'm curious if anyone readsthe show notes.  Thanks.*********************************This podcast is brought to you by:You.Visit http://www.windowtothemagic.com for informationon how to become a recurring supporter of WindowtotheMagic...*********************************OTHER EXCITING WAYS TO ENHANCE YOUR WTTM EXPERIENCE*********************************The WindowtotheMagic Family of Podcast & VideocastsThe Original WindowtotheMagic Audio Podcasthttp://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=77245374The WindowtotheMagic Videocast (HIGH Definition)http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=300127061WindowtotheMagic 24 Season 2http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=389305897*********************************Email: podcast@windowtothemagic.comVoicemail: (307)GET-WTTMTwitter: http://www.twitter.com/wttmFacebook: http://www.facebook.com/wttmpodcast*********************************PLEASE SUPPORT WindowtotheMagic!BUY A WTTM DVD TODAYhttp://store.windowtothemagic.com*********************************100 Mins  ))HD Binaural((
