Kirsty's and her husband's life was rather tough at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a three-year-old son, a baby and two full-time jobs. One day, Kirsty proposed to go on a hike to break the daily routine, which turned out to be a disaster after her son's continuing whining and complaining. However, as she realized that that hike had done well to her, and decided to go hiking every weekend, she was able to find some relief from the stressing pandemic life, and eventually to also convince her son that it was worth it. Kirsty Bennett is manager of the MIT Women's League and founder of MITell, a storytelling community group for MIT. Kirsty spent seven years as producer and director for The Moth, and founded The Moth's College Program, bringing storytelling workshops to college campuses across the US. However, during a trip in South Africa, where he had co-founded a non-profit to supply antibiotics and vaccines, David realized that the short-term benefits granted by his inventions were being overwhelmed by long-term problems that dropped the quality of life. This epiphany led him to change his focus and create revolutionary inventions - as the FEND devices, used to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. David A. Edwards is a scientist, inventor and writer. However, her path to the top has being far from linear, with many obstacles and failures on her way. Es ahí cuando aparece la magia de la música y de los efectos de sonido…. [MÚSICA] Licencias y derechos Eso sí, no todo es tan fácil como parece. No voy a entrar en si tal pieza es mejor que la otra o si en tal efecto de sonido es mejor ponerlo aquí o allá. Quiero hablarte de ciertos derechos y licencias que existen a la hora de incluir sonidos y canciones que no son de nuestra autoría en nuestros podcasts. Deberes diferenciar entre aquellos audios que contienen licencias de pago, aquellos que contienen licencias gratuitas aunque con derechos en la atribución y aquellas que, simplemente, tal y como te las descargas, tal y como las incluyes como a ti te guste en tus podcasts. Por lo tanto, antes de incluir alguna canción o efecto de sonido en tu podcast, investiga si está ligado a alguna licencia y cuál es. Nunca se sabe si en un futuro podrías recibir alguna reclamación o alguna indicación de violación de derechos, algo que podría suponer tener que eliminar el podcast o, incluso peor, tu canal. 3. Fuentes de audio gratuitas y libre de derechos No te voy a citar en qué lugares puedes descargarte canciones o efectos de pago para tus podcasts, sino aquellos gratuitos. Os imagináis que empiezo este ELEpod sin música, algo como: “ELEpod 7...Un podcast colaborativo para profesores de ELE que sienten pasión por el podcasting… Hoy, Música y efectos de sonido.” Sí, me seguís entendiendo a la perfección pero se pierde “algo”, ¿verdad? Y es que cuando estamos ante un medio 100% auditivo, la música y los sonidos son algo fundamental. [MÚSICA] Con esta musiquita que escucháis de fondo, voy a daros el mensaje principal de este ELEpod. Seguramente muchos estéis pensando que para hacer esto que estáis escuchando, tenemos que recurrir a comprar una pieza musical y luego más tarde dedicar un par de horitas a situarla, a saber tú como, en la edición de nuestro podcast. Pero la realidad es totalmente la contraria: podéis conseguir música como esta totalmente gratis y editarla en cuestión de minutos en vuestro podcast con resultados totalmente sorprendentes. ¿Por qué la música y los efectos de sonido? Siempre podéis grabar un podcast sin añadir ningún tipo de efecto estilístico en formato audio. Vuestra narración podría ser la de un Iñaki Gabilondo que narra una información de principio a fin, del tirón, sin pausas. Sí, dicen que “el contenido es el rey”, es decir, que un buen contenido formativo es todo lo que tienes para asegurar la calidad de tu podcast y hacer crecer tu comunidad de aprendizaje. Sin embargo, el resultado podría ser que tras escuchar los dos primeros minutos, o tras escuchar los primeros 10 con suerte, la atención de nuestro alumno, aquel que ya está acostumbrado a desconectar de una soporífera clase en la que el profesor larga y larga contenido de forma monótona, con la misma intensidad y ritmo, se acabase durmiendo. Sin embargo, a pesar de esta valiosa ayuda que nos ofrece el RSS, deberíamos estar presenta más allá... bueno, más allá de lo que el formato podcast se refiere o al menos tal y cómo lo entendemos. Me refiero a traspasar la barrera del mundo podcast y enviar nuestro contenido en audio a otros lugares como Youtube o un blog que, si bien no son terrenos de audio propiamente dichos, sí que guardan una estrecha relación. Algo que por cierto también podemos hacer a la inversa: convertir algunos vídeos de Youtube que ya tengamos publicados en valiosos podcasts listos para ser escuchados. Así que en este podcast, mi estimado docente de ELE podcaster, vamos a aprender cómo traspasar esta barrera del mundo podcast y hacer llegar nuestro contenido formativo en ELE a otros lugares para que pueda ser consumidos de forma diferente según las preferencias de nuestros oyentes, espectadores o lectores. Recuerda que en cuánto más lugares estés, mucho mejor. Y si además puedes programarlo y configurarlo para que más tarde no tengas que hacer prácticamente nada por que tus audios también estén allí, pues todavía mejor. Canales de contenidos que se ajustan al podcast El blog: Hablamos de lectores. Contenido bien indexado en Google debido a que lleva navegando muchos años por Internet. Saturación de contenido (demasiados blogs y cada vez ocupan más micronichos). Youtube: Hablamos de espectadores. Gran inversión de tiempo en la creación de contenidos Fácil consumo e increíble engagement. Instagram: Hablamos de visualizadores. Fácil interacción e impacto rápido en el contenido. Carencia de profundización en el contenido. Podcast: Hablamos de oyentes. Dificultades en la indexación del RSS en Google. Fácil traslación de contenido y consumo. Mercado aún virgen y verde en el habla hispana (poca competencia, pero todavía no hay un gran consumo). Cómo podemos ajustar el podcast con otros canales de contenidos El blog + podcast: Beneficios: Mejoramos la indexación del podcast utilizando la veteranía del blog en Google. Mayor tiempo de estancia del lector en el artículo ya que ahora también debe dedicar tiempo a escuchar el podcast. Hipervínculos más sólidos a otras referencias web de calidad (mejor indexación para Google). Consejos clave: Busca un host de podcasting con la opción de introducir el reproductor de tu podcast en el artículo No incluyas los podcasts en el host de tu página web (busca un host optimizado para podcast) Ivoox.com cumple con ambos consejos (reproductor + host especializado). Plugins de wordpress Blueberry (Powerpress) o Simple Podcasting que te permitirán que cada vez que publiques un podcast puedes crear automáticamente el post con el reproductor añadido. Youtube + podcast: Beneficios: Cuando añades un audio a Youtube significa indexarlo en el segundo buscador más grande del mercado Te permite añadir etiquetas para mayor difusión del contenido incluso dentro de las notas del vídeo. Tanto si eres profesor presencial que quiere dirigirse a su clase en particular como si si eres un profesor de ELE online que quiere promocionar su marca personal atrayendo a oyentes para su negocio educativo, necesitas un podcast. En el podcast anterior, Francisco nos ayudó a responder a la pregunta: ¿Por qué quieres hacer un podcast? En este ELEPod3, te lanzo una nueva pregunta: ¿Para QUIÉN quieres hacer el podcast? ¿Quién es tu estudiante/oyente ideal? ¿Quién es tu buyer persona? -No hablamos de oyentes, sino de comunidad- No nos interesa atraer a estudiantes random ni a estudiantes con la etiqueta “pasaba por ahí”. Como profesores de ELE, queremos crear un podcast dirigido a un estudiante particular que más tarde formará y hará más grande nuestra comunidad de aprendizaje. El objetivo de crear un podcast formativo para un estudiante de ELE en concreto es el de escuchar tu podcast y, más tarde, el de hacer CLICK en el botón de suscripción y así pueda seguir conectado o conectada a los futuros podcasts que publiques. -Un oyente definido escucha un contenido definido- El hecho de crear comunidad conlleva a crear contenido definido para ese estudiante ideal, oyente ideal o buyer persona. Para ganar suscriptores y no simplemente oyentes deberás aplicarte una máxima como profesor-podcaster: cuánto más y mejor definido esté tu contenido, mejor conectarás con ese estudiante en específico para el que has pensado grabar tus podcasts. -Delimita a tu estudiante aportando valor añadido- Si todavía no tienes delimitado a tu oyente ideal, una buena forma de hacerlo es haciéndote la siguiente pregunta: ¿Qué puedes hacer tú, dentro del podcasting, qué no pueden hacer otros (tan bien) aportando ese granito de arena al podcasting y al mundo del ELE? O dicho de otra manera ¿Por qué crearías un podcast para ese estudiante ideal? -Una radiografía rápida de tu estudiante ideal- Algunos aspectos para descubrir este perfil, trazar el retrato robot o delimitar a tu audiencia de estudiantes que escuchan podcasts es poniendo tu foco de atención en alguno de estos aspectos: · Edad / Sexo (¿Te diriges a algún estudiante con alguna edad determinada? ¿Crees que lo escucharán más frecuentemente hombres o mujeres?) · Especialidad / Ocupación (¿Te diriges a un estudiante que tenga una profesión determinada?) · Necesidades, problemas o miedos de tu estudiante en relación con el aprendizaje del español (¿Qué dificultades tiene?) · Cómo le puedes ayudar tú desde tu conocimiento y especialización (la llamada propuesta de valor añadida) · ¿Qué otros podcasts escucha? -Nichos ELE- · Podcasts de nivel: podcasts para estudiantes de nivel A1, A2, B1… en lo que trates alguno de los aspectos característicos del aprendizaje dentro de estos niveles (gramática, vocabulario, aspectos socioculturales, pronunciación…). · Podcasts de edad: podcasts para alumnos de edades determinadas (¿Qué tipo de temas crees que podría interesarle a un adolescente de nivel B1 y que fuesen motivadores para su aprendizaje?) · Podcasts de nacionalidad: podcasts para estudiantes de una nacionalidad en concreto. Algo que va más allá de que conozcas su lengua nativa y amplies tu foco de visión hacia otros aspectos como factores de su idiosincrasia, aspectos socioculturales o la tradición de enseñanza y aprendizaje de su cultura. · Podcasts de necesidades específicas (académico DELE, español de negocios...). · Micronichos: tomar un aspecto de algún nicho anterior y mezclarlo con otro. ¡Bienvenido a un nuevo episodio de ELEPOD! Me llamo Francisco J. Martínez y seré tu anfitrión en este episodio. Permíteme que te guíe en tus primeros pasos para crear tu podcast como un PRO. Introducción. Antes de entrar en materia sobre cómo crear un podcast, necesitas tener claro por qué quieres hacer un podcast, en primer lugar. Esto significa definir tus objetivos y tu visión para el podcast, además de tu “superpoder”. ¿Qué es un “superpoder”? Es aquella habilidad para hablar de un tema y conectar con tu audiencia. Paso 1. Dedica unos minutos a pensar sobre tus intereses. ¿Qué te gusta? ¿Enseñar español? ¿Cómo te gustaría enseñar a través del podcasting? Necesitas un tema para los episodios de tu podcast. ¿De qué va? ¿Sobre qué tratará? Un tema te ayudará a conectar con tu audiencia ideal, con tu nicho. Por ejemplo, tutoriales para aprender gramática española de manera fácil. Paso 2. Reflexiona sobre las experiencias de tu propia vida y que guarden relación con tus intereses. ¿Qué experiencias tienes que se puedan conectar con el tema de tu podcast? ¿Qué te da un conocimiento o perspectiva única sobre el tema que quieres desarrollar en tu podcast? Paso 3. Considera cómo tu podcast se ajustará a tus metas profesionales. ¿Mejorarán tus esfuerzos de marketing o tu marca personal? Recuerda que un podcast es una herramienta que te visibilizará, promocionará tus productos o servicios y te convertirá en un referente en la enseñanza del español online. Paso 4. Ten en mente los grupos o comunidades virtuales de profes ELE y estudiantes a los que perteneces. Por ejemplo, Con Movimiento, Un idioma cada vez, Red de Profesores de Español - Profe de ELE... Por un lado, te pueden ofrecer un buen feedback acerca de las necesidades de sus miembros; por otro lado, la comunidad virtual puede conocer tu podcast y compartirlo en las redes sociales. Paso 5. Hay mucha competencia en el podcasting. No tanta en el sector de la enseñanza del español, lo cual es una gran ventaja. Cuando elijas un tema, piensa en tus intereses y en los de tu audiencia, en las experiencias de tu vida profesional, metas profesionales y recurre a los grupos o comunidades virtuales de profes ELE a las que perteneces. Para averiguarlo, dibuja un círculo para aquellas cosas que más te apasionan y, otro círculo, para tu experiencia en la enseñanza del español como L2/LE. ¿Dónde convergen los círculos? Haz una lista de 12 puntos (o más) sobre: Cosas en la que estés interesado, Actividades en las que estés implicado; por ejemplo, diseño de materiales didácticos. ¡Bienvenido a un nuevo episodio de ELEPOD! Me llamo Francisco J. Martínez y seré tu anfitrión en este episodio. Permíteme que te guíe en tus primeros pasos para crear tu podcast como un PRO. Introducción. Antes de entrar en materia sobre cómo crear un podcast, necesitas tener claro por qué quieres hacer un podcast, en primer lugar. Esto significa definir tus objetivos y tu visión para el podcast, además de tu “superpoder”. ¿Qué es un “superpoder”? Es aquella habilidad para hablar de un tema y conectar con tu audiencia. Paso 1. Dedica unos minutos a pensar sobre tus intereses. ¿Qué te gusta? ¿Enseñar español? ¿Cómo te gustaría enseñar a través del podcasting? Necesitas un tema para los episodios de tu podcast. ¿De qué va? ¿Sobre qué tratará? Un tema te ayudará a conectar con tu audiencia ideal, con tu nicho. Por ejemplo, tutoriales para aprender gramática española de manera fácil. Paso 2. Reflexiona sobre las experiencias de tu propia vida y que guarden relación con tus intereses. ¿Qué experiencias tienes que se puedan conectar con el tema de tu podcast? ¿Qué te da un conocimiento o perspectiva única sobre el tema que quieres desarrollar en tu podcast? Paso 3. Considera cómo tu podcast se ajustará a tus metas profesionales. ¿Mejorarán tus esfuerzos de marketing o tu marca personal? Recuerda que un podcast es una herramienta que te visibilizará, promocionará tus productos o servicios y te convertirá en un referente en la enseñanza del español online. Paso 4. Ten en mente los grupos o comunidades virtuales de profes ELE y estudiantes a los que perteneces. Por ejemplo, Con Movimiento, Un idioma cada vez, Red de Profesores de Español - Profe de ELE... Por un lado, te pueden ofrecer un buen feedback acerca de las necesidades de sus miembros; por otro lado, la comunidad virtual puede conocer tu podcast y compartirlo en las redes sociales. Paso 5.
