The 66th Anniversary of the Korean War was this past Saturday. Dustin Bass recently sat down with our first intern, Nick Perez. Labeled #NickTheIntern during Episode 1 on the American Revolution YouTube series, Nick is officially in the process of joining the US Marines Corps. He has sworn in and is preparing to go to boot camp in a few months. We sat down to discuss why he chose the Marines from all the other branches, and why he chose to go into the military in the first place. We also discuss his grandfather, John Perez, a Korean War veteran who passed away in the summer of 2018. It was a huge shock to most people when video footage was shown of the Cathedral of Notre Dame burning. Construction on the cathedral began in 1160 and was completed 100 years later. So much history has taken place there, it would be a shame not to restore it (although it will never be the same). Some people have shown their disdain for any type of religiosity, and The Sons of History tackle all of it. The Electoral College has been questioned from the creation of the Constitution. The Federalists argued for it and we continue to debate it today. It is definitely a conversation worth having. Senator Elizabeth Warren has advocated doing away with it, but The Sons of History think she may be advocating an impossibility and something that would be worse than the current system. The Founding Fathers knew the system wasn't perfect and nothing could ever be, but as Benjamin Franklin said, it is as close to perfect as he had ever witnessed.
