One week before her wedding, on the Easter Morning in 2015 Stephanie Scott decided to stop by her classroom at Leeton High School to go over her lesson plans and other coverage documents she'd left for the substitute teacher one final time. By midafternoon, her fiancéAaron grew anxious by unanswered calls and texts, and reported her missing with Leeton Police. The Leeton community rallied, coordinating search efforts to this beloved member of their town. Sadly, on April 9th, twenty-four-year-old Vincent Stanford was formally charged with the murder of Stephanie Scott. The arrest of Vincent Stanford came as a surprise to Stephanie's friends and family, particularly because, as far as anyone could tell, he was little more than a stranger.Thank you to the Incredible Dave White of Bring Me the Axe Podcast for research and Writing support!ReferencesAustralian Associated Press. 2016. 2025-04-20 - Easter Morning Sermon - Jamie McCormack
Last week was Easter — but the story isn't over. For resurrection people, Easter never ends. After the crowds thin and the music fades, a quieter question remains: Is it still true? Is resurrection still real… even now? Like Thomas, we find ourselves reaching out — hoping to touch what our hearts dare to believe. Acts 5:27–32 | Revelation 1:4–8 | John 20:19–31
Go There for the One | Week 7 | Easter MorningOver the next three years, our focus is simple: to invite everyone who calls New City home to "Go There for the One." Easter Morning
In this episode, we revisit the appearance of Jesus to Mary on that first Easter Morning!
This is the last reading for our Good Friday and Easter series. We are going to be looking at John 20. This is the record of Christ being raised from the dead where the heavenly courts confirm Pilate's words, “Behold Your King!” If Christ remains in the grave then we have no Easter message. If Christ is never raised it means that God as not overcome death. One could argue that Easter is far more important than Good Friday. Yes, we need the lamb of God and Son of Man to take away our sins. However, if he is never raised from the dead it means we are still in our sins because Christ was not the perfect sacrifice.
Thank you for joining us this morning as we celebrate Christ's Victory over death and sin! To learn more about the many ways to get connected please visit amplifychurchnc.org We would like to extend an invitation to our upcoming Worship Night on Wednesday, April 30th at 6:30 pm

Jesus' appearance to Mary Magdalene on Easter Morning was a side trip. The King of Life had died, descended, and on the third day rose from the dead - as all Christians confess. But He had farther to rise! He couldn't stay long in the Garden to comfort Mary, but He had instructions for her: Something to stop doing, and something to do. We're looking at John 20, verse 17, as today Jim brings us Part 2 of his sermon, The Real Triumphal Entry. The Catechism tackles Jesus' bodily resurrection from the dead which is the “the crowning truth of our faith in Christ". Fr. Mike makes sure we understand that Christ's resurrection cannot be interpreted as a legend or a metaphor, but as a true, historical fact. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 638-644. Pastor Taylor Shippy - Genesis 2:4-8; John 20:19-23 Today is ‘Pentecost Sunday.' ‘Pentecost' is a transliteration of the Greek word pentēkostē (πεντηκοστή) which simply means ‘fiftieth.' For Christians is the fiftieth day after Easter when remember the Holy Spirit descending upon the followers of Jesus after His Ascension. The tricky part is, if you're reading the New Testament, there isn't one Pentecost but two. Luke tells us one (cf. Acts 2:1-41) and so does John (cf. John 20:19-23). One is a loud and large worship service; the other is a small and quiet prayer meeting. And we need to both.

By recounting the scriptural accounts of the morning of the Resurrection, the state of mind of those involved, and the evidence of the events that occurred, we can rest assured that the Christian faith in a Risen Christ is not only feasible and reasonable, but most assuredly true.
That first Easter Morning was not a happy one like it is for us (at first). It was dark and fearful, with Jesus' followers wondering if they were next. What can we learn from Lazarus' resurrection as it relate's to Jesus? Jesus gave exactly what was needed: 1. Truth for Martha 2. Tears for Mary 3. Life for Lazarus Come out of the Grave!
Pastor Joe Fant preaches the Easter Morning service with his sermon titled, "Dead to Sin. Alive to Christ."

Todays gospel is the story of the first Easter Morning, where two women first discovered the empty tomb. Pastor Michelle reminds us this morning that with his resurrection, Jesus has rewritten the rules for the world. Might no longer makes right; vulnerability is no longer weakness. This is God's plan for a world filled with grace and peace
From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.
Did you know you can experience an “Easter morning” miracle at any time of the year? Although the Easter story is specific to Christianity, the symbolism is universal! We will all go through challenges that seem impossible to overcome…and yet…miracles happen! In this week's episode, I will lead you through a guided meditation with St. Mary Magdalene, into the ‘garden' on Easter morning… I won't tell you much more than that, as I want you to experience the meditation for yourself. I'd love to hear about your experience with this meditation! Please feel free to leave a comment. “Let your faith ‘roll the stone away' from the tomb of your problems.
