How often do you stop and listen to your higher self? We can be so busy in business and life that the answer could well be “not often' or “never”, even if it's something you believe in and/ or have vowed to do more of in the past.I'm 100% in this category, so what a treat this was not only for the podcast and in guiding you to listen to your higher self, but as a chance for me to pause and be guided to listen to mine with a ‘never been done on this podcast before' experience of having my tarot cards read for me which was such a wonderful experience- and one that I highly recommend (see links below if you'd like to talk to Sarah and/ or book a reading).Card reading aside, we talk about showing up as your authentic self- even when you have a fear around this depending on your niche and/ or perceived judgement around you and/ or what you do.Brilliant guest, brilliant chat, and something completely different which I'm so happy to bring to you.I'd love to know your thoughts on this episode!About Sarah:Sarah is an intuitive spiritual guide/channel who uses the Tarot to help guide those who struggle in all areas, ranging from love/relationships, discovering life purpose/mission, career/business, etc. Sarah's ultimate goal and focus is to empower her clients and help them learn to listen and trust themselves. They often know the answer already, receiving these readings helps to give them the confirmation/ validation they are needing.Sarah also hosts her own podcast called ‘Spirit Journey Collective'.Find Sarah at:Instagram: @spirit_journey_collectiveWebsite: https://www.spiritjourneycollective.comBook a reading: https://www.spiritjourneycollective.com/livereadingsAbout Carly:Carly is a Personal Brand Strategist, Messaging Mentor, Event Host/ Strategist, and Mum of 3 based in the North West of England, Uk.Carly believes in working in a soulful, yet intentional, way; inviting you to reflect on and/ or shut out any marketing tactics that aren't for you, to focus on brand energetics and attracting soul aligned clients instead. What lights you up? Seems like an easy question on the surface, yet if you were to sit and really think about what truly lights you up, it might feel like a trickier question to answer than it initially appears. What lit us up in the past, might not anymore, whilst other things we loved years ago - things or places we might have forgotten about and/ or no longer make time for - could be exactly what we need to bring more joy and a sense of self connection back into our lives. In this episode I talk you through exactly this, breaking it down into two stages:First of all I invite you to go back in time (only if it feels safe to do so), looking at your personal growth journey and how it can affect your sense of what you enjoy. Here I chat about the notion of ‘losing yourself' along the way, with examples such as parenthood, life changes and transitions and more.Once you know where you're up to in your journey - in life, which ultimately leads you to where you might be up to in your business and/ or personal brand - it's time to flip the switch from your inner to your outer world as I invite you to dig deep and look at what lights you up NOW, and how you can even bring this into your business!I share my own journey plus recent realisations around what still lights me up all from a day out with my kids, plus plans to bring this in it my own business in the near future. This is the second in what I am calling the ‘YOU & Your Journey' mini series of solo episodes which begins from the last solo which is episode 062 ‘8 Ways to Keep the Energy Going When Your Own Energy Feels ‘Off', all the way to Episode 070 ‘Bringing Your Quirks into Your Business & Brand… And Owning Them!'... before ending this season for the Summer holidays with a solo which brings all of these together with intention as we look at ‘Messaging, Mindset and YOU!' (with more brilliant guest interviews in between!).I'd love to know your thoughts on this, and especially if it inspires you to reconnect with what you love and/ or to even bring it into what you do! What comes to mind if or when you think of PR? >>… Celebrities, wannabee celebrities and/ or business owners being featured in the press or on tv? That PR is something you need to be fully confident to take centre stage? As something you don't see yourself as needing just yet? Or other misconceptions there might be when it comes to what PR is and- most of all- what it gives??Which could be exposure, authority, confidence and visibility for starters…. Most of all though, PR is the perfect way to celebrate YOU… which is what this week's incredible guest is all about!Jo Swann talks us through her own business journey in which she is currently celebrating her company's 20 year anniversary, plus we chat about imposter syndrome, what PR is and isn't, how it can boost confidence and your positioning and so much more.Jo even brings a little disco magic to this episode which I am 100% here for (check out the video version on YouTube to see Jo's disco lights too!)Do check out Jo's links below, as well as Jo's book ‘Celebrating YOU', PLUS visit Jo's social media bio links for information or tickets for her upcoming PR Party event which is Friday 29th June in Leeds, Uk.About Jo:Jo Swann runs the award winning PR agency, Chocolate PR, championing mission led entrepreneurs, to create ripple effects with their knowledge and stories, Celebrating people & 'PR for Good'. Subscriber-only episodeThis month's premium episode is something completely different yet it is super high value in terms of your wellbeing, and possibly even your productivity and confidence in how you show up too. This accompanies bitesize episode 006 so you might want to give that a listen first where I talk you through why improving and being aware of your posture could well help you skyrocket your confidence and authority, plus how decreasing lower back pain will help you to feel better and be able to focus for longer overall.I should say at this stage that my previous business was in fitness and wellbeing, and that I qualified as a level 4 Personal Trainer waaay back in 2012 where I specialised in Lower Back Pain strengthening and posture improvement! So… in this episode you have a qualified, specialist personal trainer (hey I'm still qualified, I just don't use it anymore!) take you through an actual 20 minute stretching and strengthening sequence which starts around 12 minutes; the first part of the episode is where I talk you through what we'll be doing, what can cause lower back pain and/ or poor posture and more.Enjoy!?About Carly:Carly is a Personal Brand Strategist, Messaging Mentor, Event Host/ Strategist, and Mum of 3 based in the North West of England, Uk.Carly believes in working in a soulful, yet intentional, way; inviting you to reflect on and/ or shut out any marketing tactics that aren't for you, to focus on brand energetics and attracting soul aligned clients instead. Ok so what does posture (did you just sit up straighter??) have to do with your business, brand and the way you show up?On the surface, nothing at all! Think a little broader however, and listen to this episode of course, and you'll discover how much improving or being aware of your posture could potentially positively impact not only your physical presence when you walk into a room or present online, but also your authority and confidence too!Why not give this month's bitesize episode a listen, followed by this month's premium episode if you'd like to begin to put it into action, to find out more!About Carly:Carly is a Personal Brand Strategist, Messaging Mentor, Event Host/ Strategist, and Mum of 3 based in the North West of England, Uk.Carly believes in working in a soulful, yet intentional, way; inviting you to reflect on and/ or shut out any marketing tactics that aren't for you, to focus on brand energetics and attracting soul aligned clients instead. After skipping just one week of my podcast, I decided to go ‘off (podcast} plan', and straight into something which affects us all as part of running a business, and in showing up as your personal brand… our energy. There will always be times when we feel uninspired and/ or disconnected when it comes to our business and how we show up. Whether a had a bad nights sleep, hormonal imbalances, the moon, or life throwing you an unexpected curveball… it often doesn't take much to knock our energy enough for it to feel ‘off'.If this happens, you might feel tempted to hide away… something i've felt these last few weeks due to a household of illness, half term and more.Rather than keep the hiding going, I gave myself a loving kick up the derriere to record this episode and get back to it after just one missed week versus 18 months last time (I call that progress!).Here I share 8 ways you can keep the energy going in your business, brand and content when your own energy feels ‘off'.Let me know if you do any of these already, or if you give any new ones a go!About Carly:Carly is a Personal Brand Strategist, Messaging Mentor, Event Host/ Strategist, and Mum of 3 based in the North West of England, Uk.Carly believes in working in a soulful, yet intentional, way; inviting you to reflect on and/ or shut out any marketing tactics that aren't for you, to focus on brand energetics and attracting soul aligned clients instead. Who should build a Personal Brand? Chase Neely, President at Leverage Brands and Personal Brand Strategist, on a mission to amplify messages of personal brands, shares his insight. https://leveragebrands.co www.linkedin.com/in/chaseneely
Ok before we begin… this isn't a feminist rant or a men hating episode, far from it! This is me, sharing more of my beliefs and voice to help you share more of yours.I used to think I was a feminist, on some level I am; yet I've realised what I'm more passionate about is anything anti-patriarchy… especially in how it stops women, and other genders, from showing up.In this episode I talk through what the patriarchy is (and isn't!), how it might manifest itself PLUS 10 ways it can affect how we show up in our business, brand and even in life!Ways such as the language we use, the photos we have taken, opportunities we might miss, earning potential and so much more!I'd LOVE to know your thoughts on this episode, and on the subject overall- not just from women, but from all genders and people it might affect. It's something I'm keen to explore further later this year, if you'd like to be involved in a potential video series then give this episode a listen, and email me at the address below.Oh and whilst you're checking out the links below, DO check out my shiny revamped website too! An example of how you can put more YOU into your brand, including more of your beliefs too!Enjoy this episode, remember to rate and review via Apple podcasts if you like what you hear!About Carly:Carly is a Personal Brand Strategist, Messaging Mentor, Event Host/ Strategist, and Mum of 3 based in the North West of England, Uk.Carly believes in working in a soulful, yet intentional, way; inviting you to reflect on and/ or shut out any marketing tactics that aren't for you, to focus on brand energetics and attracting soul aligned clients instead. After an extended break over the holidays, it's time to get going again with the first solo episode of 2024 which feels very apt in line with a shift that seems to be happening in the online business world where business owners appear to be taking things a little easier rather than 'hitting the ground running' which I am all for! This links perfectly to this episode where I talk through an extra, more compassionate layer of the brand strategy umbrella (which isn't strictly brand strategy at all but is needed!)... brand energetics which leads on from my last solo episode about alignment perfectly! If you feel like something may be missing in your business and brand yet you feel like you have all your brand strategy ducks in a row then this episode may just help you to feel more into your mission to feel more connected overall.Still feel unaligned? Change is inevitable, however it is how we view change that can be manipulated especially when it comes to ourselves. We are all constantly evolving with our strengths and skills, whether or not that evolution is to become the best version of ourselves is entirely up to us. In today's episode Sarah Elkins and Natalie Jobity discuss owning strengths and how they can shift and change over time, as well as how it is integral to seeing and appreciating every version of yourself. Highlights What narrative do you still hold on to that someone else gave to you? You have to challenge yourself because if you become complacent and accept your limitations you will never achieve the best version of yourself. Be mindful of when people criticize you for your hardcore talents that make you good at what you do. Quotes “All of us are multi-gifted and multifaceted, we don't have to box ourselves into “Well I can only be creative and do this” or “I can only be strategic and do that.” “And I just went headfirst, believed in myself, I just- I look back and I'm like “What?!” What gave me the gall? What gave me the confidence, the bravado, all the words to think that I can build something from nothing. Like literally from nothing, and that's what I did!” “Looking back on my life and my careers and different things, “You have always been really savvy, you have always been ahead of things.” But I used to think of when I would explain things to people they wouldn't understand me, and I thought that's because I was stupid or I wasn't that smart or I'm not communicating well, and now I see it as because you were always ahead and they didn't know what you were thinking because they hadn't caught up yet.” About Natalie Natalie Jobity is a Leadership Coach, Personal Brand Strategist, Author, and Speaker. She integrates her 25 years of marketing, image consulting, entrepreneurship and coaching expertise with her strategic prowess, creative ingenuity, intuitive sensibilities and her innate ability to spot potential to help women rise to their highest leadership echelons as the “Brilliance Unveiler.” Natalie brings an authentic, customized, intuitive approach as she helps purpose-driven women unveil their brilliance, so it becomes potent, powerful, and purposeful with ripple-making effects for years to come. Natalie is the author of Amazon best-selling Frumpy to Fabulous: Flaunting It, and her newly published leadership empowerment book, It's Your Time to Shine, Girl: Own Your Brilliance, Step into Your Influence, and Lead Like a Trailblazer. She wrote the latter to inspire women to bring their brand of brilliance to the fore so they can lead like the trailblazer, game-changer, and changemaker they are meant to be and to give them the tips, tools, and techniques needed to succeed and thrive as women of influence. Connect with Natalie on her LinkedIn and Instagram! About Sarah "Uncovering the right stories for the right audiences so executives, leaders, public speakers, and job seekers can clearly and actively demonstrate their character, values, and vision." In my work with coaching clients, I guide people to improve their communication using storytelling as the foundation of our work together. What I've realized over years of coaching and podcasting is that the majority of people don't realize the impact of the stories they share - on their internal messages, and on the people they're sharing them with. My work with leaders and people who aspire to be leaders follows a similar path to the interviews on my podcast, uncovering pivotal moments in their lives and learning how to share them to connect more authentically with others, to make their presentations and speaking more engaging, to reveal patterns that have kept them stuck or moved them forward, and to improve their relationships at work and at home. The audiobook, Your Stories Don't Define You, How You Tell Them Will is now available!
