The Grace Filled Leader-Work Life Balance, Productivity, Time Management, Emotional Intelligence, People Pleasing, Overwhelm

Have you ever been described as or described yourself as being a perfectionist, people-pleaser, Type A personality, over-achiever, or do you find yourself in a perpetual state of “busyness”? I hate to break it to you, but these might be some indicators that you struggle with high-functioning anxiety.    No need for shame, friend.  I have been there for more years than I can count.  The Lord has shown me so much more freedom from this and it has transformed my life.  I love to help other women find freedom from similar struggles.    High-functioning anxiety, sometimes referred to as “hidden” or “smiling” anxiety, is a term used to describe individuals who experience anxiety symptoms but manage to function well in their daily lives. While they may appear calm and composed on the outside, they often struggle with inner turmoil.   Before we can do anything to prevent or correct our anxiety, we first have to recognize it and understand it.   Today we are talking about the _10__symptoms of high-functioning anxiety, some common causes or risk factors, and some strategies that will allow for a more calm and peaceful existence.   If any of today's episode rings true for you, know that you are not alone and there is hope.  I would love to chat more with you, one on one.  Bop over to gracefilledleader.com to book a free discovery session with me. There is a difference between “knowing” and “knowing about,” and in Ephesians 1 we discover the significance of this difference as we study Paul's first prayer in his letter to the Christians in Ephesus. Eric P. Kuykendall, PhD, Senior Pastor Who am I?” and “What am I to do?” are two of life's most important questions. Thankfully, the Bible speaks to questions like these, especially in Paul's letter to the Ephesians. With conciseness and clarity, Ephesians helps us discover our identity and purpose in light of the gospel. The letter to the Ephesians is like a one-two punch. It's a combination of belief and behavior, doctrine and duty, and faith and practice meant to challenge us to live out the eternal truths of God in our everyday lives. The Grace Filled Leader-Work Life Balance, Productivity, Time Management, Emotional Intelligence, People Pleasing, Overwhelm

Hey, Friend!   Are you sick and tired of riding the struggle bus?  Do you find yourself spending most of your time frustrated and focused on the wrongs that have been done unto you?  Do you feel burned out and irritated with the world?  Well guess what…you can live a different existence.  You do not have to stay on the hot mess express!     I spent a lot of years thinking of my story and future from a very limited perspective.  I created a narrative in which I was limiting my potential to my own negative beliefs about myself, rather than claiming the powerful story that is mine through Christ.  So many of us are choosing to live a narrative that leaves us pitiful versus powerful.  It makes us a victim rather than a victor.  We believe the lies we and the enemy tell ourselves and they become our story.  By telling ourselves these negative messages over and over, we are actually wiring our brains to live a negative existence.    Today I teach you 4 steps that can change your life.    I hope this episode blesses you and that you will continue to join me on this journey toward balance, peace, and freedom to live the abundant life you were called to. The Grace Filled Leader-Work Life Balance, Productivity, Time Management, Emotional Intelligence, People Pleasing, Overwhelm

Hey Friend! Have you ever found yourself feeling insignificant, unworthy, or undeserving of the love God has for you?  For most of my life, I have had a head knowledge that I am saved and that Jesus loves me, but I never truly felt worthy.  I wasn't walking with the heart knowledge of what salvation and the love of God means for me in my everyday life. My identity has always been based in who I was for someone else…   girlfriend, daughter, wife, mother, leader.  My sense of value and worth came completely from external sources.  I had been trying to prove myself worthy to those around me, all the while feeling insignificant and invisible. This has manifested itself in many ways throughout my life…  anxiety, panic disorder, body shame, disordered eating, unhealthy relationships, over-functioning at work, Imposter syndrome.  Over the past several years, I realized that I had wandered too far away from the only audience that matters.   I had become distant from God and was not seeking intimacy of relationship with Jesus.  I was not walking with a heart knowledge of who I am as a daughter of the King.  I knew that I desperately needed to depend on God and find my value in him because I could no longer find it in the world.  Today I share a message about my journey, the 12-inch journey from my head to my heart, that took the better part of 49 years.  I talk about the difference it has made in my life and the freedom I have found. I hope this episode blesses you and that you will continue to join me on this journey toward balance, peace, and freedom to live the abundant life you were called to. Lisa Whittle is joining us today and she's an amazing speaker, podcaster, and author. We're talking about the chasm between our head knowledge and our heart knowledge and how only God fills that gap. He knows our every worry, anxiety, and daily routine. Why does this matter? Because he loves us and so desperately wants to use us for His glory.    Lisa also cautions us to watch out for things that mimic the real experience of God, and very practically gives us pointers on figuring out the difference in dreams versus goals for our lives.    Heck, we even talk about our tendency to want to “payback” those who hurt us . . . and who doesn't need a good word on that.   So glad you're with us today.    Resources from today's show:  Lisa Whittle's Book  Adventures in Odyssey   Pardon the Mess is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. This question is very divisive. Some people argue that Bible interpretation is all about the work of understanding the grammar and literary features of the Bible, along with some historical background knowledge. Others argue that only the Holy Spirit can interpret the Bible to us and it requires none of those things. What doesn't help is that we typically argue this question with two different definitions of what exactly Bible interpretation means. Today I want to offer a balanced approach that (hopefully) avoids both extremes. I hope it's helpful to your own endeavor to correctly interpret the Bible while being led by the Spirit!Support the show

Prince Vince extrapolates the idea of head versus heart knowledge into dating and relationships, shedding light on the notion of passionate and rational love. When some individuals are looking for a relationship, they act solely out of their head knowledge, checking off boxes. It is important to have those standards but it starts with an internal reflection and zeal of becoming the person that other individuals deserves. One question of focus for this episode: Why does it appear you become pursued more often by others when in a relationship?

"Were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and opened the scriptures to us?" (Luke 24:32) The disciples on the road to Emmaus had to journey from their head to their heart in order to encounter Christ. We are also asked to make this journey. Someone once said that the longest journey that you will take is the one between your head and your heart. When knowledge becomes experience it allows us to share the way that Christ is working in our own lives each day. In this episode, we discuss how to build the bridge or fun slide :) between the head and the heart, what might get in the way of this, and the importance of sharing this heart knowledge with others. Everyone has something to bring to the table when it comes to sharing Christ with the world.

Authentic Spirituality #3 Illuminated to Know God Better, Eph. 1:15-23 By Louie Marsh, 5-12-2019   IF I’M AUTHENTICALLY SPIRITUAL I…   1) Respond to God’s Work with THANKSGIVING.   15  For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, 16  I do not cease to give thanks for you… Ephesians 1:15-16a (ESV)   2) Always seek God for deeper SPIRITUAL GROWTH.   16  I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17  that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, Ephesians 1:16-17 (ESV)   I have a HOLY DISCONTENT.   I believe in the Kingdom come Then all the colors will bleed into one Bleed into one But yes, I'm still running You broke the bonds and you loosened chains carried the cross of my shame, of my shame You know I believe it But I still haven't found What I'm looking for     3) Constantly pray for the Spirit’s ministry of ILLUMINATION.   17  that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, Ephesians 1:17 (ESV)    The Goal is to FULLY KNOW GOD.   4) Pray for authentic spiritual knowledge.   18  having the eyes of your hearts enlightened… Ephesians 1:18a (ESV)   HEART KNOWLEDGE   So the king sent horses and chariots and a large fighting unit there. They came at night and surrounded the city. When the servant of the man of God got up in the morning and went outside, he saw troops, horses, and chariots surrounding the city. Elisha's servant asked, “Master, what should we do?” Elisha answered, “Don't be afraid. We have more forces on our side than they have on theirs.” Then Elisha prayed, “Lord, please open his eyes so that he may see.” The Lord opened the servant's eyes and let him see. The mountain around Elisha was full of fiery horses and chariots. 2 Kings 6:14-17 (GW)   BALANCED KNOWLEDGE – mind, will, emotion.   SEEING  - real through knowledge and experience.   FOUR GREAT TRUTHS I NEED TO SEE:   1) THE PAST: God planned a great PURPOSE FOR ME.   18  … that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you …Ephesians 1:18b (ESV)   2) THE FUTURE: My life ends IN GLORY!   18  … what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, Ephesians 1:18c (ESV)     3) THE PRESENT: God’s Power is IN & FOR ME!   19  and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might Ephesians 1:19 (ESV)   and what the surpassing greatness of his power towards us who believe, according to the working of the might of his strength, Ephesians 1:19 (Darby)   HIS POWER IS:    DYNAMIC   ENERGETIC   MIGHTY   STRONG   INCOMPARABLY GREAT     4) The Resurrection continues today IN ME!   20  that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21  far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. Ephesians 1:20-21 (ESV)   5) I must SUBMIT to Christ’s authority to find authentic wholeness.   22  And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, 23  which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all. Ephesians 1:22-23 (ESV)   He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything. At the center of all this, Christ rules the church. The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ's body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence. Ephesians 1:22-23 (MSG)

2020 Vision (Part 2) Speaker: Pastor Patrick Kelley Originally Recorded: Mar 10, 2019 1 Chronicles 28:2 Then King David rose to his feet and said: "Hear me, my brothers and my people. I had it in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and for the footstool of our God, and I made preparations for building. Head Knowledge and Heart Knowledge aren’t the same thing. Romans 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Do you recognize what God is doing? (in your heart) With every opportunity there is a responsibility. Jesus vision for the church is always bigger than our vision. A step of faith is always a step in the right direction. We will experience God through the journey as He gets a hold of our hearts and we get a hold of His. Big Idea: When our hearts are connected to God’s vision it becomes the overflow of our lives. What is your overflow? Five things to help you this week - which of these is your next step? 1. See you next week! 2. Invite someone to come with you! 3. Pray and Read your Bible! 4. A Heart Knowledge - David wrote in Psalm 119:11, “Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee” (NIV). During the life of David, much of the Old Testament was yet to be completed, and the entire New Testament was yet to be written. But David spoke of hiding the Word in his heart. What did David mean by that? Jamere will tell us in this thought-provoking lesson. http://jamere.org

There are some things that Christians say that are so catchy that they catch on as we popularize them. After a while, they become Christian cliches, which does not have to be a bad thing. But then some Christian cliches lose their force because of their lack of theological precision. The cliche, "head knowledge versus heart knowledge" is one of those misguided mantras. Have you ever asked yourself "How do I get closer to God? How do I build a Relationship with Jesus?" well this teaching is designed to help you answer those questions and more! I want to invite YOU to take the 2-week challenge. No matter where you are with God, you can benefit from this challenge. Personally speaking, this challenge has me focusing even more on His Love, Presence, Grace, and Power and talking to Him about even more things in my life. I hope and pray that you will take the time to read this teaching, accept the courage to take the challenge, and cling to the perseverance to see it through to the end! I pray that after the two weeks is up, you will be more in love with God than ever before and more comfortable with communicating with God throughout your day and that you continue to live out this lifestyle of communication and worship for the rest of your life! May God Bless you and hold you in the palm of His Hands! Let's DO THIS!!! :) THE 2 WEEK CHALLENGE: FOCUS ON KNOWING GOD AND HIS PRESENCE IN AN INTIMATE, REAL, AND PERSONAL LOVE RELATIONSHIP + This challenge is about getting to KNOW God at an experience based level. This will become possible when you involve Him in EVERY aspect of your daily life by constantly communicating with Him, focusing your mind on Him, and seeing your daily life through His eyes. There are 2 different types of knowledge. There is a Factual Head Knowledge with "I know God exists and I believe in Him." Then there is a Heart Knowledge with "I know God and talk with Him about my life every day because I have experienced His Power, Love, and Favor in a personal, real, and intimate way". Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do in word or deed, do it ALL in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him". + How Does The Challenge work? From the moment you get up in the morning, you make it your focus, aim, and goal to communicate with God in some way, shape, or form, and you do this throughout the day, on a moment-by-moment basis. Prayer is any communication with God. It can occur in a lot of different forms. You can pray out loud by yourself, you can talk to God within your mind, you can pray breath prayers where you have talks with God under your normal voice tone. You can also meditate on scripture by thinking about it, visualizing it, seeing how it applies to your life, and talking to God about it. Meditation involves the same energy as worrying with the one exception that makes all the difference, and that is that in mediation, you turn your focus to THE POSITIVE POWER of God and His Word. If you're thinking about something over and over again, you know how to worry, and that means that you also know how to meditate. Now is the time you TAKE CONTROL and meditate on God as you talk to Him about anything and everything in your daily life. Listening to what you sense God is telling you is key. In any relationship listening to what the other person has to say is vital in developing a strong relationship with that person, the same is true with God.
