Building a successful health and wellness franchise requires more than passion for personal well-being—it demands vision, systems, leadership, and the ability to scale while staying true to core values. Few people embody that balance better than Kyle Jones, CEO and Co-Founder of iCryo. Kyle Jones founded iCryo with a mission to elevate lifestyles through professional, affordable, and accessible personal health services. What began with a focus on cryotherapy has rapidly evolved into one of the world's largest and most recognizable names in the health and wellness franchise space. With over 200 locations open and ambitious plans to surpass a thousand units globally, iCryo's growth reflects the strength of a brand built on innovation, intentionality, and operational excellence. Jones' transition from collegiate athlete to CEO was fueled by a broader passion for total wellness. Initially pursuing a career in sports and exercise science, he quickly realized that recovery, mental wellness, and proactive health measures offered a much greater impact beyond athletics. That vision became the foundation for iCryo's expansive portfolio of services, offering everything from cryotherapy and compression therapy to IV infusions, regenerative medicine, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The rapid expansion of iCryo stands out in a competitive market increasingly saturated with wellness concepts. Rather than chasing trends, Jones and his team have remained agile and responsive, intentionally introducing new services based on three critical factors: scientific efficacy, market affordability, and public awareness. This forward-thinking strategy has enabled iCryo to stay ahead of industry shifts while maintaining high operational standards across its franchise system. Building a thriving health and wellness franchise at scale also meant mastering compliance and regulatory challenges. As the company expanded into medical services, Jones emphasized the importance of operating with full medical compliance, working closely with advisory boards and legal teams to ensure alignment with state-by-state healthcare regulations. The result is a franchise model that operates as both a welcoming, retail-friendly environment and a fully compliant medical facility. Culture has played a crucial role in iCryo's success. From day one, Jones has insisted on a “people first” philosophy, ensuring that team members, franchisees, and guests feel connected to a larger mission. Franchisees are not just business owners; they are partners who share a passion for wellness and a commitment to living out the brand's core values. This intentional focus on culture helps create consistency across hundreds of locations, allowing iCryo to scale without losing the personal touch that defines the brand. Scaling a health and wellness franchise at this level requires a new type of franchisee—one willing to invest, operate professionally, and engage actively with the brand's mission. iCryo's operators are all multi-unit owners, a reflection of the company's shift from a boutique wellness service to a professional, medically-integrated wellness destination. Kyle Jones emphasizes that success in franchising is not about simply signing agreements; it's about building relationships, aligning on vision, and growing with the brand over time. The commitment to continuous improvement is evident in how iCryo trains and supports its network. From weekly system-wide calls that foster real-time alignment to the establishment of franchise advisory committees that ensure feedback loops between the field and corporate leadership, iCryo has built infrastructure for sustainable growth. Operational manuals, brand standards, and educational platforms like iCryo University are designed to keep franchisees at the forefront of innovation while maintaining operational excellence. Community engagement remains a cornerstone of iCryo's strategy. Despite the global reach of the brand, every iCryo location is positioned as a local business, deeply connected to the neighborhoods they serve. Jones encourages franchisees to actively network within their communities, building authentic relationships with local groups, fitness clubs, schools, and business organizations to amplify their impact and brand loyalty. Kyle Jones' approach to building a health and wellness franchise highlights the critical blend of mission-driven leadership, strategic innovation, and operational discipline. His emphasis on culture, compliance, customer experience, and continuous evolution offers a blueprint for any entrepreneur or business leader looking to create lasting impact in a competitive market. On this episode of Eye on Franchising we are joined by Matt Magnuson.Matt is a franchisee of the brand called iCryo. What is iCryo you ask? It a franchise that has Cryotherapy and other services to help heal a persons body.As the demand for easily accessible cryotherapy grows rapidly across the nation, many are discovering the number of benefits this cutting-edge service can provide, including stress-relief, deeper sleep, renewed energy levels, reduced inflammation, and most commonly, muscle and joint pain relief. Cryotherapy, which was initially invented to assist with arthritis, changed ultramarathon runner Matt's life after a car accident that lead to the diagnosis of spinal stenosis. Matt shares his story of being overweight, falling in love with running and the fateful day of that car accident. Matt is a health-driven entrepreneur who tried cryotherapy for the first time after running a 50K and found so much relief, decided to open his own iCRYO wellness center to share the benefits of cryotherapy with his community of Wichita, Kansas. IN BRIEF: Before opening an iCRYO wellness center, Matt was a call center executive for almost 30 years. After opening call centers of his own, he decided after turning 40 that he wanted to be self-employed, but the car accident put his dream on hold. As he recovered from the car wreck, he became interested in the drive and dedication of ultra-marathoners. After he was introduced to cryotherapy, he decided that he felt enough pain relief that he could give it a shot. He ran a 50K one day, bounced back after a visit to the chamber, and was running two days later. He then decided that if he was going to regular compete in races, why not open an iCRYO wellness center?Tune in and enjoy and when you are ready to talk about your future franchise just book a call!Have you heard the news? "People asked me 'what was your secret?' And the secret was, I wanted it bad enough." You want to be impressed? You want to be inspired? Talk with a person who overcame, accomplished the goal and lives every day with intention-- continually improving. Discipline isn't temporary. It is every day. You should always celebrate your wins. If you are not trying to improve, you are slipping into the warm comfort of gooey mediocrity-- and that's a shame. Once you are on that road to incremental improvement (every day) the sinful departure from that so you can return to the "comfort" of a less disciplined, less enlightened, less powerful version of yourself is indeed tragic. Matt told me, "you can't coast uphill" and life is uphill. So prepare yourself. "It is a continual grind from cradle to grave." I am grateful Matt Magnusson decided to forge the path and be the example of self-discipline. And, if you do not already know him, you will be too.

What is Cryotherapy? Today's guest, Kyle Jones, is the co-founder and COO of iCRYO. He has been involved in health & wellness since becoming an athlete in high school, then continuing on through college, and after college when he won national gold medals in Competitive Power Lifting. He also worked as a Physical Therapist where he learned about how important rehab & recovery are. He was first introduced to Cryotherapy in 2012 and as Kyle started to look more into it, he began to realize the amazing benefits Cryotherapy has to offer for all types of bodies. In 2015 he decided to open his first center and it was at that point that Kyle hired and trained a staff specifically for providing this service to the public. We had an interesting conversation and I had a lot of questions about what Cryotherapy is, how it helps and with what kinds of services. I learned that inflammation is the biggest issue that their centers and Cryotherapy can help with and since that is the major cause of most physical issues I can see how iCRYO has become so popular so fast.
