Enjoy!
A bumper May Q&A Podcast brings the whole gang together… eventually! Marcus Buckland, Tom Allnutt, George Sessions and finally Tom Barclay discuss Roberto De Zerbi's light-hearted press conference moment, statements from the Lewis family and Peter Charrington along with Vinai Venkatesham's interviews after Spurs' near-escape and look ahead to if Cristian Romero will stay and could James Maddison replace him as captain? #tottenham #tottenhamhotspur #spurs #coys #thfc #football #premierleague #epl #thelewisfamily #petercharrington #vinaivenkatesham #antoninkinsky #robertodezerbi #mickyvandeven #pedroporro #kevindanso #crstianromero #thomasfrank #igortudor #jamesmaddison #relegation #pressconference #podcast #newepisode #ttw #thetottenhamway #opinion #reaction #review #sportspodcast #footballpodcast Learn more about your ad choices. Jack is joined by Billie T to dissect yet another miserable defeat at Stamford Bridge, kicking things off by trying to make sense of the latest refereeing controversy. With images clearly showing the ball was in play for the penalty that wasn't given, we vent our frustrations at the officials before confronting the harsh reality of our own underlying numbers. Spurs once again displayed a total lack of quality upfront and in the final delivery. This leads into a painful discussion about Randal Kolo Muani, debating whether he will go down as one of our worst ever signings and what his failure says about the utter lack of care in our recent scouting and transfer policy. Attention then turns to Sunday and the terrifying prospect of the biggest game of our lives against Everton. Knowing we only need a single point to secure survival, we discuss the sheer dread of relying on our rotten home form against a competent side. We examine the recent statement from Change for Tottenham calling for total support for 90 minutes followed by a clear message of discontent towards the owners, before asking whether executives like Johan Lange and Vinai Venkatesham should be sacked immediately if we stay up, or if that would set the rebuild back even further. Finally, Billie tackles a brilliant and bleak selection of the listener questions we managed to squeeze in. We explore coping strategies for a doomsday summer scenario, debate if the club's culture is genuinely beyond repair, ask whether keeping Johan Lange makes relegation inevitable next season, pitch an alternate reality television show where Tottenham are actually functional, and wonder which retired players could genuinely do a better job leading our line right now. Photograph by the incredible Frederikke Jensen We're joined by Dan Kilpatrick to talk through the strange feeling of Tottenham actually giving us something to believe in again. We get into the Villa performance, De Zerbi's immediate impact, whether the Tottenham way actually exists, the power vacuum behind the scenes, Johan Lange's role, Palhinha, Vuskovic, survival, and the deeply uncomfortable question of whether we hate Arsenal more than we love Spurs. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Sports & Entertainment Financial Planner and regular contributor Adam Osper along with returning guest Kieran Maguire who is a British academic, author, and broadcaster. Kieran specialises in the finances of association football and wrote the book The Price of Football and also is a co-host of the podcast alongside comedian Kevin Day. We discuss the importance of survival for Tottenham Hotspur on the back of a week which has seen the Club record back-to-back wins for the first time since the opening fortnight of the Premier League season. We reflect on just how much Daniel Levy's legacy hangs over the Club and whether The Lewis Family's decision to remove him without a contingency plan was one of the biggest mistakes of the season, despite the growing fan un-rest towards him personally. We debate the true cost of relegation for Spurs this season and how and why it could ultimately effect them for years to come. Pre-planning is also raised on what that looks like now, on the back of the news that Tottenham are ready to offer Luka Vuskovic a bumper new contract. Spurs director of football Johan Lange has reportedly travelled over to Hamburg recently to speak with Vuskovic about his future in North London. Spurs are also reportedly interested in goalkeepers James Trafford and Bart Verbruggen, with Guglielmo Vicario expected to join Inter. Meanwhile one of Cristian Romero or Micky Van de Ven could leave, while Radu Drăgușin may be sold, opening a pathway for Vuskovic into the first-team. Adam also touches upon his theory of Spurs having free deals in place for Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi if they stay up, as Kieran predicts in a year's time whether he will be reviewing another set of financial accounts with The Lewis Family still at the helm of the football club and what any sale or takeover could like for Tottenham Hotspur. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Jonathan Hammé, Gary Ward and TJ Ramini as we discuss the do or die for Tottenham in their battle to stay in the Premier League, and they have another must-win game on their hands this weekend when they take on Wolves. We discuss the sheer size of the game and task at hand for Tottenham, the team news in which Roberto De Zerbi confirmed Spurs will be without Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario and Pape Matar Sarr for Saturday's game against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Head coach Roberto De Zerbi also confirmed that James Maddison will be included in the squad but is unlikely to feature. The panel also discussed the news that Sebastian Kehl is now the leading candidate for a role as Tottenham's new director. Spurs' board want him to rebuild the team alongside Johan Lange. Kehl's career as a top player, his management skills and his extensive international network are highly valued within the club and during the conversations. We also touch-upon the news that Marcos Senesi have reached an agreement in principle. With the 28-year old top centre-back giving his commitment to join Spurs on a free transfer in the summer, if Tottenham stay in the Premier League. We finally close on the scale of the game at Molineux and how nothing but a win will do for Spurs in their battle to retain their Premier League status. Jack is joined by Phil to dive into another incredibly tense week for Tottenham Hotspur, kicking things off by examining the sheer chaos over at Chelsea. With Liam Rosenior sacked, we question whether a dreaded new manager bounce could derail our survival hopes, and ask if Spurs are now the canary in the coal mine for massive clubs completely losing their way. Staring down the barrel of the Championship, we also look at Leicester City's terrifying double drop down to League One as a something we shouldn't think we're too big for. Focus then shifts to the boardroom, unpacking the exclusive news that Sebastian Kehl is the leading candidate to become the new director at Tottenham. We ask why on earth he is supposedly being brought in to work alongside Johan Lange, rather than replacing him entirely, and what the mixed reaction from Borussia Dortmund fans means for our rebuild. The conversation then turns to the rumours surrounding Micky van de Ven. Following reports that the defender is actively making arrangements to leave the club, we debate whether our survival hopes demand dropping a player who clearly has one eye on the exit door. Looking ahead, we preview the absolute do-or-die fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers, stressing just how crucial it is to finally break our psychological hoodoo against them. Finally, we tackle a massive listener Q&A, covering everything from the club's desperate, belated search for a lead psychologist, to deciding whether Destiny Udogie is worth keeping, and facing a horrifying binary choice regarding Arsenal's trophy hopes versus our own Premier League survival. Jack is joined by Rosa from the Hometown Glory podcast to process yet another devastating blow in this miserable season, as we react to the news that Mohammed Kudus has suffered a fresh injury setback. We discuss the club's grim update, and Tom Barclay's confirmation, that the winger may now require surgery, before turning our ire firmly towards Johan Lange. We dissect the sheer ineptitude of his January claims that Spurs did not need to panic buy because of returning players, and ask what on earth the medical department is doing behind the scenes. The conversation then tackles the terrifying reality of tonight's clash between West Ham and Wolves. With a West Ham win set to plunge Tottenham into the relegation zone for the first time in 18 years, the pair debate whether dropping into the bottom three adds a whole new layer of psychological pressure, or if the squad is already drowning in anxiety. Looking ahead to the weekend, Rosa shares her expectations for Roberto De Zerbi's highly anticipated debut against Sunderland, and we discuss how Antonin Kinsky will cope in goal under the Italian's high-risk system as well as debating actually how good (or bad) Guglielmo Vicario is. As always, we dedicate the second half of the show to your listener questions. We explore whether there is any morbid curiosity about what relegation would actually mean for ENIC and the squad, debate whether a committee of podcasters could genuinely run the club better, and try to remember what it actually feels like to celebrate a win. We also cast the key roles for the inevitable drama mini-series of this disastrous campaign, and craft our most fanciful, silly fanfic scenarios for survival. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Jason McGovern, George Achillea and Billie T as we react to the news that Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the appointment of Roberto De Zerbi, with Spurs understood to really admire his attitude, tactical quality, and connection with players. We reflect on that news that De Zerbi had told Spurs last week he wanted to wait until summer, but a lucrative long-term deal has made him open to taking the job now, a five-year contract is understood to be on offer and in the process, De Zerbi will become the third best paid manager in the Premier League behind Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta. We debate whether De Zerbi is genuinely motivated at the challenge that sits before him of keeping Tottenham in the Premier League and whether we feel anymore confident of staying up on the back of a permenant appointment being made. Finally at Tottenham Hotspur, Johan Lange and Vinai Venkatesham are in the firing line from supporters and their club is the most spectacular example of chronic leadership failings in the Premier League, we discuss whether this final role of the dice from the duo will be their last act as employees of the Club and whether there is any possible case you can make for either to stay on, given the number of poor decisions taken alone in this season. Jack welcomes Big Jon Bass back to the show to discuss how we desperately need to brush ourselves off and go again after the Forest disaster. We start by addressing the deeply uncomfortable feelings directed towards the squad this week. Seeing the players post jubilant, smiling social media updates while away on the international break has struck a massive nerve with a fanbase still reeling from a relegation scrap. The conversation then turns to the people running the club. With the pressure mounting, we analyse the massive decision Vinai Venkatesham and Johan Lange have on their hands regarding Igor Tudor's future. If they pull the plug on the interim boss, who is actually brave or foolish enough to step into the dugout right now to save us from the drop? Finally, Jon answers your listener questions. We debate what it will actually take to spark full-scale protests against the owners, ask how Vinai and Lange are still in their jobs given the current mess, and end on a necessary lighter note by getting Jon's favourite whiskies to help soothe the pain of yet another Tottenham defeat. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Jason McGovern, Luke and Marlon as we suffered another home Premier League defeat on Thursday night as Crystal Palace left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with maximum points after Micky van de Ven's first-half red card changed the course of the game. Igor Tudor was only appointed as a replacement for Thomas Frank three weeks ago, but has lost all three games he has taken charge of and the club are yet to win a league game in 2026, we debate whether the Croatian should be relieved of his duties and the potential emergency options that are available should Spurs look to make a change. We discuss whether these players are still fighting for the Club, or if relegation is inconsequential as they will look to move in the summer. Finally we try and rationally chat on the concern of relegation and whether we can stay in the Premier League. We discuss the size of the game against Crystal Palace and debate the whether it's the biggest game ever, in our recent history of being in the Premier League. We also discuss a crazy last 72 hours in which has seen reports suggest Tottenham using an executive search company to help find the new Sporting Director to work alongside Johan Lange, the Club complaining to both PGMOL and the Premier League following recent treatment in addition to Spurs chiefs reportedly considering taking action against their new Arsenal-supporting scout who has joked he doesn't want to let the badge touch his skin. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by George Achillea, TJ Ramini and Patrick Tyrant as three days after Spurs stumbled to a 2-1 defeat at Craven Cottage, Nuno Espirito Santo's side dug deep and held on to their narrow 1-0 lead in the same venue to move level on points with Nottingham Forest in 17th, just one point away from Spurs in 16th. We discuss the impact of the last 24 hours as a point for Forest away at Manchester City compounded a disastrous evening for Tudor and his squad as both relegation rivals picked up crucial points on the road, as we have the uncomfortable conversation about how concerned we are over potential relegation. We discuss the size of the game against Crystal Palace and debate the whether it's the biggest game ever, in our recent history of being in the Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur has officially rolled the dice, appointing former Juventus hardman Igor Tudor to replace the chaos in N17. With a reputation for high-intensity 3-5-2 systems and uncompromising discipline, Tudor arrives in London on a mission to fix a fractured defense and unleash Son Heung-min in transition. We analyze whether his "heavy metal" tactics from Marseille and Lazio will translate to the Premier League, or if this high-stakes gamble by Johan Lange is a short-term fix for a long-term identity crisis. Jack welcomes Tom Foins back to the pod to mull over the news that the majority of Thomas Frank's backroom staff have been given the chop. We discuss the brutal nature of the clearout, specifically Johnny Heitinga departing after just 33 days at the club, and the loss of highly-rated coach Justin Cochrane. Tom reflects on why this is probably for the best in the long run, but acknowledges that the saga is once again reflective of the chaotic decision-making plaguing the club. The futures of Vinai Venkatesham and Johan Lange are firmly in the spotlight. We ask if the club would be better off without them, and whether a total uprooting of the hierarchy is needed to put this miserable period behind us. Attention then turns to the appointment of Igor Tudor. We discuss what we can hope and expect from him during his time as Spurs boss, especially with such a depleted squad, will he be forced to tap into the youth team resources? Finally, we look ahead to the summer: Mauricio Pochettino seems to be the most obvious pick right now, but is he actually the right one? Theme is Ghost Cat by Gillen Learn more about your ad choices. We react to the defeat at Old Trafford and the moment that killed the game. Cristian Romero's red card, the fallout from his comments the week before, and whether this is now the beginning of the end for him at Spurs. We get into reputation, discipline, leadership, and whether the club should cash in while it still can. There's no letting Thomas Frank off the hook either. Ten men or not, we tear into the decisions made after the sending off, the lack of any attacking intent, and what felt like a complete surrender. Was that game management or fear. And how much credit does Frank really have left in the bank.We also cover the January transfer window. Two signings, a lot of excuses, and serious questions about Johan Lange, recruitment, and whether Spurs actually know who is responsible for football decisions anymore. From there it turns bigger. Relegation talk. Whether Spurs are genuinely dragged into it or whether the points on the board will save them. Newcastle preview. Why tomorrow night feels massive. And what happens if Spurs lose again. Finally, we talk Pochettino. His comments on the High Performance podcast, the way he still talks about Tottenham, and why more and more fans feel like he's the only answer. Is it nostalgia, or is he genuinely the right man to reset the club.Raw, honest, and not pulling punches. If you're Spurs and you're tired, angry, or both, this one's for you.
Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Adam Osper, Jack Hussey and Adam Nathan as we discuss the fall-out from the January Transfer Window and the verdict on Technical director Johan Lange outlining why Tottenham decided not to make "stress purchases" in a quiet January transfer window as he insisted the club have big plans for their summer business. We also discussed journalist Gaston Edul reporting Cristian Romero is to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the summer and whether the panel agree with the Argentinian's latest outburst and potential exit. We finally give our view on Wing-Fai, chief executive of Triller Group, a company created following the “$4bn” – just under £3bn – merger of two Hong Kong tech companies, willing to meet Daniel Levy's asking price, along with previewing Manchester United to come in the Premier League for Spurs on Saturday. Lots to get through on today's Sky Sports FC with Tom White and Charlie Austin! One month into their reigns, Charlie assesses the Manchester United and Chelsea tenures of head coaches Michael Carrick and Liam Rosenior. Next, we ask if Tottenham Hotspur should have spent more money in January, after Sporting Director, Johan Lange, faced the media to explain why the club didn't bring in more players in the transfer window. Spurs fan Chris joins the debate. Finally, to Scotland and the title race - we ask if Rangers are now considered the favourites to lift the Premiership. But, is this the best Scottish title race ever?
Jack welcomes Billie T (When The Whistle Blows) back to the podcast to pile into the post-transfer window anguish at Tottenham. We start on a lighter note with a story about Billie virtually rubbing shoulders with Xavi Simons, and explore the unlikely connection between the Dutch playmaker and the joys of Chas & Dave. Conversation quickly turns serious as we discuss Cristian Romero's inflammatory Instagram post. Was he right to air his frustrations, or should the club captain keep the dirty laundry private? We ask if this is the beginning of the end for his time at Spurs and if we would consider selling him in the summer. We also analyse Johan Lange's interview on the club channels after the window closed, discussing why the Technical Director cuts such an uninspiring figure during a time of crisis. Finally, Billie answers listener questions, including a chat around Change For Tottenham's attempted 75th-minute walkout protest against Man City, and how the group might change their tactics in the future. Jack is joined by Phil to discuss the seemingly inevitable exit of Thomas Frank that is... still yet to happen. Despite an awful 2-1 loss at home to West Ham and intense gossip suggesting he would be sacked on Monday, the manager has apparently received a vote of confidence from the board, citing a "good lunch" with Vinai Venkatesham and Johan Lange. We ask how on earth they have come to this decision when Frank simply doesn't look fit for the role. We also turn the spotlight on the squad. Do certain players need to take a long, hard look at themselves? Is there a culture at Tottenham that allows this group to constantly hide behind the manager or the board when things go wrong? We discuss the rumours linking Xavi Hernandez to the job. Is he really the right man, or are there flags present already? Finally, attention turns to the Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund. We question Frank's controversial decision to remove Mathys Tel from the European squad to reinstate Dominic Solanke, and pick through the key quotes from a defiant pre-match press conference. We discuss whether Spurs are showing more ambition. How do you measure a work without any quantitative value? The constant debate depending how numbers are displayed and whether Spurs have seen a chance in behaviour over this season already vs past ones. Do we need to look beyond net spend and wages and begin measuring the structures football clubs have in place as an indication of their ambitions? Are Thomas Frank, Johan Lange, Vinai Venkatesham a sign of something new or is it the same old in different wrapping paper?
On this episode of The Lab, Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust members Michael Green (Chair) and Steve Cavalier (Board Member and Fan Advisory Board representative) join to discuss the growing relationship between the club and its fans. They share insights from their recent meeting with new CEO Vinai Venkatesham, explain how the Fan Advisory Board operates, and discuss key issues including ticket pricing, atmosphere initiatives like Return of the Shelf, and supporter influence. They also explore Johan Lange's recruitment strategy and the Trust's five principles of ownership—used to measure and challenge the club's performance on and off the pitch. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by returning guests Richard Cracknell, Patrick Tyrant and special guest Paul O Keefe as we provide an overall analysis of the January transfer window and react to Swedish teenager Lucas Bergvall choosing to join Tottenham over Barcelona ahead of a summer move to the Premier League club. The 18-year-old Djurgarden midfielder is scheduled to undergo a medical on Friday after beating off competition from Barca and other top European clubs. Spurs did not have to complete his signing before the 11pm deadline on Thursday as he will join them in the summer. Bergvall turned 18 on Friday allowing him to agree a senior deal with Spurs. New Tottenham technical director Johan Lange is thought to have been driving the recruitment for this deal having faced stiff competition from Barcelona and want to complete an agreement as soon as possible. Bergvall had been in Barcelona on Tuesday to hold talks over a summer move with the teenager having lunch with Barca sporting director Deco along with members of his family. Bergvall has made 29 appearances for Djurgarden and made his debut for Sweden in January.
See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Faktisk hen over flere kanaler.
