Maar moenie net vir my glo nie. Kara Swisher has hosted the annual Code Conference for the last twenty years. Recently she announced that this was her final year organizing and running the event, which concluded on Thursday in Los Angeles. At the final big panel on Wednesday evening, Swisher ended things where she started: with a conversation about Steve Jobs. She gathered the famous Apple designer Jonny Ive and the widow of Steve Jobs — Laurene Powell Jobs — and the CEO of Apple — Tim Cook — who flew to Los Angeles for Swisher hours after unveiling the new iPhone 14 at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino. The event ended much more poignant than one would expect at a conference about technology and politics. Afterward, Playbook Co-Author Ryan Lizza met Swisher in a suite on the 8th floor of the Beverly Hilton at what was Code's last secret poker party. They talked about the end of her running the Code Conference, her long and winding career … and why she loves saying no. Ryan Lizza is a Playbook co-author for POLITICO. Afra Abdullah is associate producer for POLITICO audio. Kara Tabor is producer for POLITICO audio. Brook Hayes is senior editor for POLITICO audio. Adam Allington is senior producer for POLITICO audio. Jenny Ament is executive producer for POLITICO audio.
Long-time tech journalist Tripp Mickle explains how Steve Jobs's personality defined Apple. He was both a founder and a legend. But his successors, Tim Cook and Jonny Ive each had their own very different ideas about the company's future. Their battle was so fundamental that it deconstructed the company culture built under Jobs. Mickle tells the story in his new book "After Steve." However, the final story is still being written inside Apple's $1 billion dollar headquarters in Cupertino.

Apple News tim pokušava nešto drugačije od ostatka IT industrije. Telefoni Prodaja iPhone Xr zvanično počela Fina, upotrebljiva kamera, kaže Austin Mann. Google Night Sight je softverski voodoo. Apple Oct 2018 Video je na YouTubeu, a videli smo iPad Pro, MacBook Air i Mac mini. MacStories - sve ostale sitnice iOS 13 će možda dodatno otključati mogućnosti novog iPad Proa. Prvi Geekbench rezultati iPad Proa su zastrašujući. LLVM deo tog testa je posebno zanimljiv. Zanimljiva i vrlo verovatna pretpostavka Jeremy Burge-a. Jonny Ive o iPad Prou u intervjuu Independentu. We have acrobatic cats, mad about wifi/bluetooth/an inexpensive computer that STILL gets a GMan in trouble, intestinal distress, and peeing in parking lots. All before we get out of the intro to the show. AOL shuts down a bit of history, Bionic vs Fusion, Jonny Ive not talking about anything, and a discussion about what we'll talk about NEXT week. Hmm, seems like a full show for something so meh.

Gentry Underwood was the CEO and co-founder of renowned app "Mailbox." In this preview he shares why playing the "Devil's advocate" is only half the equation and how it can be an energy destroyer. He also walks us through why "plodding," a term he learned from Jonny Ive, has influenced much of how he works. This episode goes live on May 1st, want access on April 28th instead? RAW PODCAST 11! Who would have thought this would ever last? In this episode we talk about what we’ve been up to. We both visited the ProFoto Expo. It was… meh, okay. Good if you’re into things like Printers and Album design companies. Not so much if you want to look at latest camera tech. ProFoto Website Dave talked a bit about Adobe Bridge vs Photo Mechanic. He loves them both and they both have their own strengths. Dave also talked about his new Nest thermostat. The Jonny Ive debate will last for a while… :) The mad crazy Death Star lamp from Ikea https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KI2os7VD_cc Other quick mentions.. Nikon’s rumours on the D760 and D850 How we both want the new Fujifilm X100F SmartSlides Well… that was disappointing. The main point of discussion though was surrounding social media and taking a break from it. The reason for the break pretty much all stems from Dave watching this Ted Talk by Cal Newport - Quit Social Media Thanks again for listening folks and please subscribe. Imitation is an unfortunate thing that happens oftentimes in our industry. Especially in the creative side of the sports business. We often see popular designers getting ripped off by Instagram "sports edits" or see colleges or professional teams steal taglines from other teams. Imitation is a natural human trait, yet there is a proper way to imitate and not be a theif. In this Halftime episode, I discuss the differences between imitation and inspiration, how to think outside the box to get inspired, subconscious inspiration and when to imitate for learning purposes. I also touch on the work of Jonny Ive and how he was influenced by famous industrial designer and minimalist, Dieter Rams. Mentions include: Tinker Hatfield, Nike Air Jordan 14 The Art of Manliness, How To Become a Better Writer: Copy the Work of Others Johnathan Ive, Apple Dieter Rams My next guest is Alexandra Mount. Alex is an art director for the NFL's consumer product line. Prior to the NFL, Alex had stints at SME Branding and Madison Square Garden where she worked on visual design and campaigns for the New York Knicks and New York Rangers. A complaining email gets answered (it's not always about peace and love darn it) and Gaz can't remember that 1password (see what I did there?) for work so goes back in Time to find it. We finally get around to a few questions from James about how we do the podcast and what we do it with and Jonny Ive get's Knighted and Guy gets squat. It's SO unfair!
Over the past week we've had an assortment of travel and gigs but we're back in the saddle with fresh material. Now that the embargo has lifted, Robbie can finally share his thoughts on driving the VW ID Buzz, while Nicole had the new Kia Sportage. Before heading out to San Francisco, Sam had the Volvo C40 Recharge and while in the Bay area he drove a Chevrolet Bolt EV.In the news, we've seen a bunch of new upcoming products in the leadup to the return of the much diminished Detroit Auto Show. The week before the show, Jeep started to reveal its 2024 EVs including the all-new Recon and Wagoneer S. Chevrolet also took the wraps off the Equinox EV. The big only big reveal at the show itself was the reworked 2024 Ford Mustang that's coming next summer. The king of designing devices with fewer buttons, Jonny Ive said that cars should have more buttons and less touch. Ram is ending production of the diesel version of the 1500 pickup so order yours now.
