As a legal correspondent covering the Trump trials, I've had a whirlwind few days. On March 10th, I was in a packed New York courtroom as Judge Juan Merchan sentenced former President Donald Trump to unconditional discharge in the hush money case. The judge's decision came as a surprise to many, given the 34 felony counts Trump was convicted of last May.The very next day, I rushed to Washington D.C., where the Supreme Court was hearing arguments on Trump's claim of presidential immunity in the federal election interference case. The justices seemed skeptical of Trump's broad immunity claims, with even conservative Justice Brett Kavanaugh pressing Trump's lawyers on the limits of their argument.Meanwhile, in Georgia, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was fighting to remain on the election interference case against Trump and others. Yesterday, Judge Scott McAfee ruled that Willis could stay on the case, but only if she removed the special prosecutor she had been romantically involved with. It was a mixed ruling that left both sides claiming partial victory. This morning, I'm back in New York, where Trump is appearing for a hearing in the civil fraud case brought by Attorney General Letitia James. The AG is seeking to enforce the $454 million judgment against Trump, arguing he hasn't posted sufficient bond to cover the amount while he appeals. As I sit in the courtroom, I can't help but marvel at the unprecedented nature of these proceedings. Never before has a former president faced such a barrage of legal challenges. Trump, for his part, continues to claim all the cases are politically motivated witch hunts.Outside, Trump supporters and protesters clash, their chants echoing through the streets. It's a stark reminder of how deeply polarizing these cases remain. With the clock ticking down to November's election, the outcomes of these trials could have profound implications for Trump's political future and American democracy itself. As a journalist, it's both exhilarating and sobering to be chronicling this extraordinary chapter in U.S. history.Tomorrow, I'll be flying to Florida for a hearing in the classified documents case. It's exhausting keeping up with all these trials, but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. This is history in the making, and I have a front-row seat.
According to The New York Times, Georgia's Court of Appeals on Thursday disqualified Atlanta prosecutor Fani T. Willis from the election interference case against President-elect Donald J. Trump and his allies, a surprising decision that could jeopardize the entire case. The three-judge panel, in a 2-1 ruling, reversed a trial court decision allowing Willis, Fulton County's district attorney, to continue prosecuting despite revelations of a romantic relationship with Nathan J. Wade, a lawyer she hired to manage the case. Judge Scott McAfee had previously ruled that her relationship created "a significant appearance of impropriety," forcing her to dismiss Wade. The appeals court, all Republican appointees, said the trial court's actions failed to resolve concerns of impropriety. If upheld, the ruling could derail the last active criminal prosecution against Trump. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
In a recent and intriguing development, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis continues to navigate the potentiality of criminal charges against former President Donald Trump. What could be a major turning point in US political history is embedded in conversations Willis has been having with Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee.Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, has been a towering figure on the political stage for the past half-decade. His administration's policies got both ardent support and vehement opposition, but his impact on the country's discourse cannot be denied. As the law firms up its gaze on Trump, a potential trial could stir political dynamics even further. In the conversation with Judge McAfee, it was hinted that any trial regarding these charges would likely be deferred until 2029. The reason behind this nine-year wait is still under wraps, yet its suggestion adds another layer of intrigue to the on-going political discourse surrounding Trump's post-presidential life. The long wait also leaves plenty of time for political, social, and legal landscapes to change. The nature of the charges being considered by DA Willis is not specified. However, it should be noted that Trump has faced numerous allegations throughout and post his tenure, ranging from financial improprieties, violations of emolument clauses, to his involvement in inciting the January attack on Capitol Hill. This insinuates that the potential charges against Trump are unlikely to be minor, given Willis's intent on waiting for the opportune moment to bring them forward. As these conversations take place discretely in the halls of Fulton County's Superior Court, the public and media can only speculate on the magnitude and implications of such charges. The proposed delayed timeline signifies the gravity of the situation and the procedural meticulousness needed to deal with high-stakes cases involving influential figures.Meanwhile, Trump supporters see these potential charges as part of a ceaseless effort to tarnish the ex-President's image. To them, the delay seems like a strategy to keep Trump tangled in legal battles, diminishing his chances of a political comeback. Critics, on the other hand, applaud the justice system's resolve to hold prominent figures accountable.Regardless of where one stands, the potential charges against Donald Trump and the suggested timeline for his trial compose an unprecedented chapter in American political history. As we wait to see the outcome, the role of DA Fani Willis, Judge Scott McAfee, and the entire justice machinery becomes of utmost importance, given their influence on the direction this narrative takes. One thing is clear – the spotlight remains firmly on Trump, for better or worse.

Dean Rusk Middle School's Chorus will also perform at the ACDA event. STORY 5: Fulton judge tosses three counts in Trump's election interference case A Fulton County Superior Court judge has dismissed three counts in District Attorney Fani Willis' election interference case against former President Donald Trump. The dismissed counts involved accusations of filing false documents in federal court, which Judge Scott McAfee ruled the state does not have jurisdiction to prosecute. The remaining charges, related to a scheme to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia, remain intact. This ruling leaves five of the original 13 counts against Trump. The case has been on hold since June due to concerns about Willis' impartiality, which were addressed after the special prosecutor she hired resigned in April. Commercial: INGLES 8 (SALTS) STORY 6: Cherokee County Students Named National Merit Semifinalists Four Cherokee County School District high school seniors—Maja Brooker, Kevin Duncan, and Alfred Tang from River Ridge High School, and Robert Raymer from Sequoyah High School—have been named 2025 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists. This honor, given to less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors, is based on exceptional PSAT scores. These students will be recognized at the Cherokee County School Board meeting on October 17. To advance, they must complete an application detailing their achievements and pass additional requirements. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation will select 15,000 finalists to compete for 7,500 scholarships worth around $30 million. STORY 7: West, De la Cruz tossed from Georgia presidential ballot Two Fulton County judges have disqualified independent Cornel West and socialist Claudia De la Cruz from Georgia's presidential ballot due to improperly filed nominating petitions. Despite the disqualification, their names will still appear on the November 5 ballot because of timing issues. This decision reduces the list of qualified candidates in Georgia to four: Vice President Kamala Harris, former President Donald Trump, Libertarian Chase Oliver, and Green Party's Jill Stein. The Democratic Party of Georgia had appealed the earlier decision by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, concerned that West and De la Cruz could affect votes for Harris. We'll have closing comments after this. COMMERCIAL: Heller 4 (GENERIC) SIGN OFF – Thanks again for hanging out with us on today's Cherokee Tribune Ledger Podcast. In this episode of “Sara Gonzales Unfiltered,” Sara tackles the increasing trend of Americans being punished for defending themselves. Highlighting the case of Scott Hayes, a veteran charged for protecting himself at a pro-Israel protest in Newton, Massachusetts, Sara points out similar incidents in New York and Texas. Under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, Sara argues, self-defense is criminalized while left-wing movements and the media portray conservatives as violent aggressors. The conversation shifts to the Biden administration's CBP One app, which facilitates mass immigration at the Mexico-Guatemala border. Sara discusses how this policy mirrors Europe's immigration crisis with taxpayers footing the bill. She also addresses John Legend's criticism of immigration opponents, calling out the hypocrisy of elites is disconnected from the realities Americans face. Sara revisits the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, exposing whistleblower revelations about the Secret Service's failures. Senator Richard Blumenthal's warning about the upcoming report adds to concerns about government transparency. The discussion then covers Biden's resignation announcement and how Judge Scott McAfee dropped charges in the Georgia election case against Trump, highlighting the Left's manipulation of the justice system. Sara also addresses how the Left has overplayed its hand with name-calling, rendering labels like “homophobe” and “Nazi” meaningless. The episode closes with a discussion of the ongoing controversy around Fani Willis in Fulton County and Tim Walz's gaffe referring to Kamala Harris as a "young prostitute." Sara is joined by independent journalist Kyle Becker and Breanna Morello, host of "The Breanna Morello Show." Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
The judge overseeing the Georgia election case against former President Donald Trump tossed out two more charges on Thursday. Judge Scott McAfee said the charges lie beyond the state's jurisdiction. The order reduces the original 13-count indictment brought against Trump by District Attorney Fani Willis to eight. New York City Police Commissioner Edward Caban has resigned. A week ago, it was reported that his phone was seized as part of a federal investigation involving several New York officials. In a statement, Caban said the noise around recent developments has hindered the important work New York City requires. Trump on Thursday ruled out another debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. In rejecting the debate, Trump suggested that a “prizefighter” who loses a bout is always the one to call for a rematch. During a campaign rally in North Carolina, Harris said she believes she and Trump “owe it to voters” to debate again. ⭕️ Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV
Mark and Gary reconnect at the end of a very eventful week in the Georgia based Fani Willis disqualification hearing. Gary and Mark discuss some of the comments from last week's episode and do a mea culpa of sorts before paying off the mistake with a humorous gift for the audience. They also look at some recent comments from former President Trump as Mark again highlights his often similarities to the styling of comedian Shecky Greene. As the show wraps up they examine Judge Scott McAfee's 23-page decision that allows Fani Willis to stay on the case, and why Mark thinks that may only be the case temporarily. State Supreme Court Justice Andrew Pinson beat back an aggressive challenge to his seat on the bench by John Barrow, who ran on a pledge to restore abortion rights in Georgia. Pinson won the race by 10 points. What do the results say about abortion as an issue for the state's voters? How much did incumbency play into Pinson's victory? In a conversation with Tia, Greg, and Bill, Pinson said, “Georgia is not ready to have and does not want a politicized judiciary like we've seen in a lot of these other states.” Then, the two big names in the Donald Trump election conspiracy case – Fani Willis and Judge Scott McAfee – cruised to easy victories. Plus, Veteran legislator Teri Anulewicz loses in the biggest upset of the day to challenger Gabriel Sanchez in his first race for public office. The results for the Georgia Primary have been mostly decisive for the Atlanta metro area. WABE politics reporters Sam Gringlas and Rahul Bali return to “Closer Look,” to provide a recap of some of the top races in the state, including Georgia Supreme Court Justice Andrew Pinson's win against his challenger, former U.S. Rep. John Barrow. They also review Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' Democratic primary win for reelection, Judge Scott McAfee's nonpartisan win for a full term on the bench and U.S. Rep. David Scott advancing as he seeks his 12th term in Congress. Meanwhile, the race for two former DeKalb County commissioners, running to be the next top county leader, is heading to a runoff. Voters will decide if Lorraine Cochran-Johnson or Larry Johnson will be the next CEO of DeKalb County on June 18. Dan Whisenhunt, the founder and editor of Decaturish.com, brings us the latest. Fred Hicks, an Atlanta-based political strategist, discusses low voter turnout across Georgia during the primary and what's happening on the national level. It's Primary Day in Georgia! Tamar Hallerman and Sam Gringlas discuss two key races on the ballot today that feature candidates working in the Trump Georgia election conspiracy trial. Judge Scott McAfee, the presiding judge in the Fulton County case, faces a challenger, but today's vote will determine whether he continues in his job. There is no November election for his position. Fulton County DA Fani Willis is on the ballot. If she wins her primary race against one opponent, she will be the odds on favorite to beat the republican running for her position in November. Then the podcast takes up the hotly contested state Supreme Court race, which pits incumbent Justice Andrew Pinson against challenger John Barrow. Barrow has aggressively promoted his commitment to restoring abortion rights for women in Georgia, but faces potential disciplinary action from the Judicial Qualifications Commission, which has criticized him for injecting a political policy issue into his campaign. Finally, AJC government reporter Maya T. Prabhu discusses races that, because of GOP redistricting, are pitting incumbent Democratic lawmakers against one another. The most recent episode of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Breakdown podcast explores the ramifications of the Georgia Court of Appeals decision to hear the defense's challenge to disqualify Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from the case. About six weeks after being asked to decide the issue, the appeals court said it would take it up. This almost certainly means yet another lengthy delay to the election interference case against former President Donald Trump and his remaining 14 co-defendants. Also in Episode 40 – “Hello 2025?” – of Breakdown's Season 10 – “The Trump Indictment” – former special prosecutor Nathan Wade breaks his silence since he stepped down from the case after Judge Scott McAfee found Wade's romantic relationship with Willis created the appearance of a conflict of interest. For this episode of Trump's Trials, host Scott Detrow speaks with NPR Justice Correspondent Carrie Johnson. In Florida, Judge Aileen Cannon delayed a trial over Trump's alleged mishandling of classified documents indefinitely, citing the backlog of pre-trial motions that must be handled before a trial date can even be set. This all but ensures that the trial will not happen before the November election. In Georgia, an appeals court has agreed to hear Trump's challenge to the decision that allowed Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to remain on the state's election interference case. Willis was previously accused of having a conflict of interest because of a relationship she had with a prosecutor she hired. After holding a lengthy hearing earlier this year, Judge Scott McAfee ruled Willis could stay on the case but noted there was an "appearance of impropriety." Donald Trump suffered two setbacks as judges rejected his bids to dismiss criminal charges in the Georgia election interference case and the classified documents case. In Florida, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon rejected Trump's argument that he could retain classified documents based on the Presidential Records Act. In Georgia, Judge Scott McAfee rejected Trump's argument that the attempts to overturn the 2020 election were protected under the First Amendment. Plus, "No Labels" abandons its plans to field a third-party candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election. The group had been pursuing a "unity ticket," featuring centrist candidates who could serve as alternatives to voters unsatisfied with Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Then, excitement is growing for Monday's solar eclipse – the first in six years. Joyce Vance, Molly Jong-Fast, Peter Baker, Jen Palmieri, Tim Miller, Jim Sciutto, and Sean Wilentz join.
Today's monologue is about comb over Caligula. In New York, Judge Juan Merchan denies his claim of absolute immunity in the Hush Money case; in Georgia, Judge Scott McAfee rejected his first amendment challenge in the January 6th case; and in Florida, Judge Aileen Cannon denied him his bid to dismiss the classified documents case using the Presidential Records Act. Also, NY DA Laticia James is questioning the company that posted the bond for Trump saying it isn't legit and Trump's Truth Social is tanking in the stock market. Then, he speaks with activist and civil liberties lawyer - Reverend Barry Lynn on RFK Jr., the fight over Transgender Visibility Day, and religion in schools. This week on Rational Security, Alan and Quinta were joined by Lawfare Managing Editor Tyler McBrien and Lawfare Legal Fellow and Courts Correspondent Anna Bower to talk through the week's big national security news, including:“No v. Wade.” The long saga of the personal relationship between Fani Willis, the Fulton County District Attorney prosecuting Donald Trump for election interference, and Nathan Wade, the prosecutor Willis put in charge of the case, hit an inflection point when Judge Scott McAfee, who is overseeing the criminal case, ruled that, though there was no actual conflict of interest, “the appearance of impropriety remains,” and ordered Willis to either recuse herself from the case or to remove Wade from his role as prosecutor. Wade promptly resigned, clearing the way for the case to continue. Is this the right resolution to the controversy, and what does it say about the future of the Fulton County case, especially if Trump appeals and tries to force Willis's disqualification?“Pleading the Fifth…Circuit.” In a sign that even the conservative Justices of the Supreme Court may be losing patience with the Fifth Circuit, Missouri received a chilly reception in oral argument on Monday when it tried to defend a circuit opinion preventing the government from virtually any communication with social media companies about removing misinformation and harmful content. How is the Supreme Court likely to rule and what should the rule be when it comes to concerns around government “jawboning.”“Psy-Oops.” Reuters has reported that, during the Trump administration, the CIA engaged in an influence operation on Chinese social media to spread negative information about Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders. After Dark with Hosts Rob & Andrew – We explore the controversy surrounding Georgia DA Fani Willis, entangled in allegations of lying, money laundering, and perjury. Amidst the trial of the century against a former President, Judge Scott McAfee's decision allows Willis to remain, despite an undeniable "odor of mendacity." With legal and political implications at stake, Willis's actions and future in the case remain under intense scrutiny...

To hear more, visit www.serioustrouble.showDonald Trump's criminal trial in Manhattan was slated to start next week, but it will be delayed due to the late production of a large volume of documents from the US Attorney's office. And Trump has said he can't find a bond for the New York Attorney General's civil judgment against him, so you can expect to see Attorney General Letitia James starting to collect on that judgment by other means quite soon. In Georgia, Judge Scott McAfee has decided not to disqualify Fani Willis or her office from the RICO prosecution of Trump and his associates. But McAfee's decision is otherwise scathing. Nathan Wade wins our Senate Twink Memorial Award for Belatedly Good Judgment for changing his mind about an interview on “Meet the Press." Good call, Nathan! In Florida, Judge Aileen Cannon has issued some more bizarre orders in the documents case. What she's doing is not exactly what you would do if you were trying to tank the case, but “incompetent” and “malevolent” are not mutually exclusive theories of what Judge Cannon is up to. And finally, we answer an excellent listener question sent in by Ben Dreyfuss about what lawyers in movies sometimes do when their clients to lie to them.Free subscribers get the conversations about New York and a bit of the goings on in Georgia. Paid subscribers get the whole shebang, including a conversation about why some of the charges in the Georgia case have been dismissed, and Ken's explanation of why he's less like those movie lawyers and more like Alan Dershowitz. Megyn Kelly is joined by Ashleigh Merchant, partner at The Merchant Law Firm, for an exclusive interview to talk about comments made by Fani Willis smearing her as a racist and a liar, Willis still talking about the case even after the disqualification ruling, Merchant's reaction to Judge Scott McAfee "splitting the baby," why Willis was "lying" in her infamous "church speech," Nathan Wade's resignation from the case, why it doesn't matter to the disqualification of Willis when the affair with Wade actually started, why Wade being bounced doesn't "cure" the conflict, the judge making the "safe" choice and refusing to make the "tough" ruling, what it was really like to question Robin Yeartie over what she knew about the affair between Willis and Wade, the truth about Terrance Bradley and his actions on the stand, Merchant's style in the courtroom, whether there will be investigations into Willis by the Georgia attorney general or others, the appeal process for her client, the details of her client Michael Roman's case, and more. Then Phil Holloway, Town Hall contributor, joins to talk about the detailed bar complaint against Fani Willis, why Willis could still end up leaving the case before trial, the media spin that it's "sexist" and "racist" to pursue further investigations into Willis, and more. Former President Donald Trump and several of his co-defendants are requesting permission to appeal Judge Scott McAfee's recent ruling, which failed to dismiss the Georgia election interference case against President Trump outright or to remove disgraced Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from prosecuting the former President. The motion noted that the Court found that DA Willis's actions “created an appearance of impropriety and an ‘odor of mendacity' that lingers in this case, but it nonetheless refused to dismiss the case or disqualify her.” Jordan, Jay, Logan, and the Sekulow team analyze and discuss this challenge to Judge McAfee's ruling, as well as a new ACLJ filing in the Supreme Court presidential immunity case, the White House's shocking statement regarding Israel, and much more.
Friday morning in Fulton County, Georgia, Judge Scott McAfee issued an opinion in the matter of the disqualification of District Attorney Fani Willis. It was not a complete victory for anybody. The defense didn't get Fani Willis booted from the case, but they did get Nathan Wade booted from the case. And Fani Willis has to contend with the loss of her special prosecutor, as well as some scorching criticism from the judge. Lawfare Editor-in-Chief Benjamin Wittes discussed it all on a live recording of the Lawfare Podcast with Lawfare Legal Fellow and Courts Correspondent Anna Bower, and Andrew Fleischman, a Georgia defense attorney and frequent Fani Willis critic. They talked about what Judge McAfee did, whether there is a serious prospect for a successful appeal, what Fani Willis's next moves are likely to be, and whether there's going to be a spree of plea deals in response. They also talked about whether the case is now back on track and headed to trial.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/lawfare. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The most recent episode of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Breakdown podcast covers Judge Scott McAfee's decision as to whether District Attorney Fani Willis should be disqualified from the election interference case. McAfee, in a 23-page order, didn't decide the issue. Instead, the judge left it up to the district attorney to decide which course to take. And McAfee had a harsh assessment of Willis' and special prosecutor Nathan Wade's conduct. The 35th episode – “Fani's Choice” – of Breakdown's Season 10 – “The Trump Indictment” – also notes that the day before he issued his disqualification decision, McAfee dismissed six of the 41 felony counts against former President Donald Trump and his 14 remaining co-defendants. To many people's surprise, the judge overseeing the Fulton County RICO case ruled Friday that DA Fani Willis would not be disqualified from the case (so long as the man she was having an affair with stepped down). Meaning that in order to remain on the case, all Fani Willis had to do was fire Nathan Wade—after she had already paid him a cool $600,000 in taxpayers' money. In the 23-page ruling, Judge Scott McAfee did not exactly mince his words. Instead, he wrote that either Willis or Wade would have to go because the entire case now has an “odor of mendacity”—meaning it reeks of untruthfulness. And lo, within hours of the judge's ruling being made public, Nathan Wade resigned from his position as special prosecutor. Let's go through what this means for the case, as well as for President Donald Trump's electoral prospects.
Megyn Kelly brings a breaking news show to discuss the major ruling from Judge Scott McAfee in the Fani Willis disqualification case, allowing Fani Willis to stay but forcing Nathan Wade to leave. Joining the show are legal experts Alan Dershowitz, Andy McCarthy, Dave Aronberg, Mike Davis, and Phil Holloway to discuss how McAfee tried to "split the baby" and have it both ways, how McAfee downplayed the evidence against Willis and Nathan Wade, how he addressed if the two lied on the stand, what might happen next to Willis, why Willis staying on the Georgia case is actually good for Donald Trump, why it doesn't make sense to kick out Wade but keep Willis over the same conflict, whether McAfee gave in to politics in his ruling, whether the ruling is the right one even if the reasoning is faulty, if Trump and the other defendants could get this overturned on appeal, McAfee calling out Willis in his ruling for her church speech, his strong language about her "legally improper" comments, whether the judge signaled he wants an ethics investigation of Willis, and more. Plus, Megyn announces an exclusive interview with lawyer Ashleigh Merchant next week. Judge Scott McAfee, who's presiding over the Georgia state RICO prosecution, granted a defense motion to dismiss six of the charges in the indictment, including three of the charges against Donald Trump. Judge McAfee ruled there wasn't enough specificity in the indictment regarding the precise nature of the crimes being charged. However, the judge told prosecutors - they can cure the technical defect in the indictment by re-indicting the charges with greater specificity. This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit www.serioustrouble.showGeorge Santos is back, and Ken couldn't be happier about it. This time, George is on the left side of the v., for once: he's suing Jimmy Kimmel over copyright infringement. The most shocking part is he may have a good case. Santos says Kimmel committed various torts when he ordered many embarrassing Cameo videos from Santos — in one instance, the request was for a video congratulating “Beav-a-Pus” on going to work at Arby's in his “fursona” — paying only for personal-use licenses, but then broadcasting the videos for commercial purposes on ABC and across various social media platforms.Alexander Smirnov, Hunter Biden's now-indicted accuser, says he had contacts with Russian intelligence. And Hunter himself remains combative with federal prosecutors — pointing out that one of their pieces of “evidence” that Hunter had a cocaine problem is a photo of sawdust that was sent to Hunter as part of a message urging him not to use drugs. For paying subscribers: in Georgia, we're all waiting for Judge Scott McAfee to decide whether to disqualify District Attorney Fani Willis from the RICO prosecution of Donald Trump and others. And we took a number of the questions you sent in about the large judgment Trump now owes to New York State for business fraud — including about why this money even goes to the state, and about what will happen if he is unable or unwilling to post an appeal bond covering the amount he will owe if his appeal loses, and bankruptcy. Thank you to everyone who sent in questions — we plan to take more of them next week.
Judge Scott McAfee will soon hear the final arguments in Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' trial. Will DA Willis' alleged improper relationship with Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade and alleged misuse of federal funds disqualify her from trying her case against former President Donald Trump? The Sekulow team discusses the potential fallout of the Georgia judge's decision, Trump's request for a delay in paying his outrageous $355 million fine, President Biden's possible executive action to restrict asylum at the southern border, a major ACLJ victory – and much more.
Another morning, another surprise plea deal in Fulton County Superior Court. It was Jenna Ellis this time, in front of Judge Scott McAfee, pleading out of the Fulton County election interference case. There was a tearful colloquy and a letter of apology to the people of Georgia. There is a cooperation agreement of some kind, and there is yet another sentence of probation. Lawfare Editor-in-Chief Benjamin Wittes sat down to talk about it all with Lawfare Legal Fellow Anna Bower. They talked about how big a deal Jenna Ellis could be for Fani Willis, about how the DA's record is stacking up, about who might be next, and about who's going to hold out and force this whole thing to trial.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/lawfare.
