Today's Headlines: Yesterday, Iran's state media reported that a helicopter carrying President Ebrahim Raisi and the foreign minister crashed due to extreme fog conditions near the northwest border. As of 9:30 PM Eastern on Sunday, the helicopter had not been recovered, and search and rescue operations were ongoing. Raisi, elected in 2021, is a hard-liner under US sanctions for alleged human rights violations and known for accelerating Iran's nuclear program and ties with Russia. If Raisi doesn't survive, the vice president will serve as interim president, with an election required within 50 days. Meanwhile, the Israeli military recovered the bodies of three Israeli hostages in Rafah, with around 100 hostages still captive. Inside Prime Minister Netanyahu's war cabinet, members are demanding a decisive strategy to end the war, accusing Netanyahu of prioritizing his political survival. In other news, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito's home flew an upside-down flag post-2020 election, a symbol adopted by the "stop the steal" movement. Alito attributed this to a dispute his wife had with a neighbor over anti-Trump signs. Additionally, Rudy Giuliani was served indictment papers in Arizona for his role in attempting to overturn the 2020 election at his 80th birthday party. Finally, David DePape, who attacked Nancy Pelosi's husband, was sentenced to 30 years in prison. Israel's security agency on Friday recovered the bodies of three hostages who were killed by Hamas terrorists during the Oct. 7 attack and taken into Gaza. Meanwhile, humanitarian aid was sent into Gaza through a temporary pier built by the U.S. military. The man convicted of attacking then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband Paul Pelosi was sentenced to 30 years in prison. David DePape was seen inside Pelosi's house in San Francisco in October 2022 with a hammer. President Joe Biden holds a string of events designed to commemorate civil rights milestones and address black voters directly. This came as new polls showed that 20 percent of black voters support former President Donald Trump. Severe storms tore through southeast Texas with hurricane-force winds. The man charged with attacking Nancy Pelosi's husband, Paul Pelosi, in their San Francisco home last October has been found guilty in federal court. David DePape, 43, faces up to 50 years in prison. The House Ethics Committee released a report, claiming it has “overwhelming evidence” that Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) broke the law. Mr. Santos is facing 23 federal charges including fraud and making false statements. Former President Donald Trump and his lawyers are no longer under gag order in the New York fraud case, for now. And in Georgia, a judge granted the Fulton County district attorney's request to protect certain evidence. President Joe Biden told Asia Pacific allies at the APEC summit that the United States is a more reliable trade partner than the Chinese communist regime. He said the United States has real differences with Beijing when it comes to maintaining a fair and level economic playing field. An arraignment occurred last year where a man was reprimanded for allegedly assaulting the spouse of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi inside their opulent residence located in San Francisco. The accused party, David DePape, confessed in court this week to devising a peculiar plan – to don an expandable unicorn outfit before intruding into Pelosi's residence, purportedly to discuss Russia's involvement in the 2016 election, according to news from the New York Post. A visibly emotional DePape confessed during the proceedings that his ultimate plan was to compel prominent figures, including the former Speaker and other identified individuals, to confess to their alleged corruption. He ambitiously hoped to encourage President Joe Biden to grant them all a pardon. However, the execution of this unconventional strategy was thwarted when he discovered Paul in the house, not Nancy. Instead of fulfilling his planned mission, DePape resorted to hitting the 83-year-old man with a hammer during the intrusion incident, dated October 28, 2022. His intended target was not Paul, he claimed in the San Francisco courtroom.
