This week we sit with Sreesha, the founder of Shop Lune, a contemporary jewellery brand based in Mumbai and Goa. If I told you that her designs have been worn by Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif to name a few, and she has not spent any money on PR, would you believe it? Having grown up as a South Indian in Goa and lived across Pune, Bangalore, London, Birmingham and now Mumbai, Sreesha admits that she feels most comfortable in discomfort. Perhaps this is what makes her a great entrepreneur, not being afraid of leaning into her 'otherness'. She prides herself in having grown Lune organically, admitting that it hasn't been a perfect journey and one that has taken a very long time, but one that she has come out of stronger, and is proud of. We get into more technical discussions around finances and what it really takes to set up a jewellery brand, but also into the mental side of what Sreesha would have done differently if she were to start her business again today. A lot of gems in this conversations. To discuss the film Abbas and Urjita are joined by actor, content creator, dancer, Bollywood superfan and overall fun person Priyam Saha. Topics discussed include: The many homages and easter eggs of the film, the meta nature of the film, the 'Deewangi' song which features half the film industry, our memories of watching OSO the first time, the stupendous music by Vishal-Shekhar, the minor pitfalls of the film and a lot more.Follow Priyam here: https://www.instagram.com/priyamsahaFollow 'The Goddess Hour' here: https://www.instagram.com/goddesshourincFollow Abbas here: https://www.instagram.com/abbasmomin88/Follow Urjita here: https://www.instagram.com/urjitawani/Get early access to ‘Has It Aged Well?' audio episodes on Amazon Music, Subscribe to the feed: https://music.amazon.in/podcasts/24d527b5-0544-4bd6-a7ff-073fa72d846a/has-it-aged-wellSubscribe to IVM Pop's Youtube Channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@IVMPopFollow IVM Pop on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ivmpop/ See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In the 11th episode of the podcast we discuss one of our absolute favorite films - Omkara. Joining us to do the honors is good friend Professor Kandarp Mehta. Mehta has studied motion pictures as part of his schooling and brings in a qualified take on films as well as literature. This episode is a bit longer but for good reason - as all three of us had a lot to say about Bharadwaj's homage to Shakespeare's Othello. The conversation comprises of direct comparisons with the play and at the same time independently treats it as a film for those who may not have read the play(like Saqib and Saahil). It is also a landmark film in the careers of Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. It's a long one so get your coffee or chai ready and tap the play button!
This week on 'Has It Aged Well?' Abbas and Urjita are revisiting the wild big budgeted sc-fi swing that Shah Rukh Khan took in 2011 with 'Ra.One' directed by Anubhav Sinha. To talk about the film they're joined by Youtuber and film nerd Anmol Jamwal AKA Jammypants4 making his second appearance on the show. Topics discussed include: The mismatch of good VFX and poor story, why Tamil films get sci-fi/fantasy right more than Hindi cinema, the broad stereotyping and broader comedy attempts. SRK's fascination with technological advancements, why the banging music deserved a better film, and much more.Check out the ZNMD episode of HIAW here: https://youtu.be/H0JF58eFMnI?si=2c8E_oh4bqNCblfCSubscribe to Anmol's Youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgbzclo4Mfy_D68w_Bm_xHgFollow Anmol on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jammypants4/Follow Anmol on X: https://twitter.com/jammypants4Follow Abbas here: https://www.instagram.com/abbasmomin88/Follow Urjita here: https://www.instagram.com/urjitawani/Get early access to ‘Has It Aged Well?' audio episodes on Amazon Music, Subscribe to the feed: https://music.amazon.in/podcasts/24d527b5-0544-4bd6-a7ff-073fa72d846a/has-it-aged-wellSubscribe to IVM Pop's Youtube Channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@IVMPopFollow IVM Pop on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ivmpop/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome to Khandaan: A Bollywood Podcast where we're enjoying a rare week of happy movies. First, Sujoy and Amrita watched MADGAON EXPRESS, a slacker comedy that delivers more than its trailer promised from debutant filmmaker Kunal Kemmu. Starring Avinash Tiwary, Pratik Gandhi, Dhivyendu, and Nora Fatehi along with a strong supporting cast, this is a very confident debut for Kemmu as a director. Next we all fell in love once again with Kareena Kapoor (and Tabu and Kriti Sanon) in CREW. From the stable of ace feminist producer Rhea Kapoor, this Rajesh Krishnan directorial was funny, sexy, and promises to be a giant hit. Co-starring Diljit Dosanjh, Kapil Sharma, Khulbhushan Kharbanda and others, this was the perfect weekend watch. Trailers: Madgaon Express Crew
Forget the renaissance, it's time for an 'Imran-aissance'! For the first time on HIAW we're discussing not one but TWO films on an episode starring our favourite chocolate boy of the 2000's & 2010's: Imran Khan. The two films are Shakun Batra's 'Ek Main aur Ekk Tu' starring Imran and Kareena Kapoor and Danish Aslam's 'Break Ke Baad' where Imran's leading lady was Deepika Padukone. To talk about the movies with us it's the return of film and TV critic Suchin Mehrotra. Yes, we got him to talk about non-blue people this time (to get that reference check out the episode we did with him on 'Avatar'). Topics discussed include: What made Imran special? What happened to the romantic chocolate boy in Hindi cinema? Did we not appreciate "frothy" cinema while we had it? The subtle portrayal of modern parenting in both films, how the leading ladies had more substantial roles in Imran's films, how the two films are similar and different, and a lot more. You can find Suchin's work with FIlm Companion here: https://www.filmcompanion.in/author/suchin-mehrotra/You can listen to 'The Streaming Show' hosted by Suchin here: https://open.spotify.com/show/3BuRq7JjyOHNKEUIYgtNLdHas 'Avatar' Aged Well? : https://youtu.be/s2sxRS8X364?si=DCPIvjW03CIV_DkHFollow Abbas here: https://www.instagram.com/abbasmomin88/Follow Urjita here: https://www.instagram.com/urjitawani/Get early access to ‘Has It Aged Well?' audio episodes on Amazon Music, Subscribe to the feed: https://music.amazon.in/podcasts/24d527b5-0544-4bd6-a7ff-073fa72d846a/has-it-aged-wellSubscribe to IVM Pop's Youtube Channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@IVMPopFollow IVM Pop on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ivmpop/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

the world of audio dramas is getting steamier. kareena kapoor khan voice acts as helen black aka the black widow immortalised on screen by the incredible scarlett johannson! she tells me this is a 1st - diving head ( or voice ) first into a full length audio series. marvel`s wastelanders : black widow also has masaba gupta playing lisa cartwright who is sent to monitor / keep a surveillance check on helen & that means so much to masaba who only started taking baby steps into an acting and now voice career a few years ago. kareena also addresses the juicy possibility of saif & her voice acting together in a future episode of marvel`s wastelanders.. fingers crossed! i love her telling me that her elder son taimur is already being exposed to the world of podcasts & audio. yaay. enjoy my chat with these ladies who undoubtedly sound as good as they look! “The HrishiKay Sessions” are produced & presented by Hrishikesh Kannan popularly known as Hrishi K Thanks for listening. Continuing our Valentine's month on #HasItAgedWell, this week Abbas and Urjita sit down with comedian Shreeja Chaturvedi to discuss everyone's favourite modern rom-com ‘Jab We Met'. Both Shreeja and Urjita are hardcore JWM fanatics whereas Abbas falls somewhere in the middle, which makes for some great talking points where the two fans put up a formidable defence for the film. Topics covered include: The character of Geet, and why she's iconic, the ‘manic pixie dream girl' argument, whether JWM has faced a backlash of late? Shahid Kapoor's stoic performance, whether JWM has affected our real life romances, the ‘road movie' aspect of the film, the brilliantly written and acted side characters, what's with the running joke of Geet being a prostitute? Welcome back to Khandaan: A Bollywood Podcast and our review of LAAL SINGH CHADDHA!Directed by Advait Chandan and adapted from FORREST GUMP (1994) by Atul Kulkarni, Laal Singh Chaddha has been in the eye of the storm since we first saw a teaser pre-pandemic, for reasons good as well as terrible. Starring Aamir Khan as the titular character and costarring Kareena Kapoor as his one true love while Mona Singh plays his mother, Laal Singh Chaddha seems like a return to normal filmmaking after a long time. All three hosts saw this movie in the theater and were delighted to have a proper discussion again. Join us as we navigate some unexpected highs and lows.
