CAREER-VIEW MIRROR - biographies of colleagues in the automotive and mobility industries.
In this Side Mirror episode, I'm joined by Kay Korsh. Kay has spent 20 years as a professional stylist — dressing celebrities, working with luxury brands, and helping business leaders use their image as a strategic advantage. Her work helps clients look credible, feel confident, and secure more business opportunities.Kay believes — and I now agree — that style is a form of communication. In our conversation, we explore how what we wear affects how credible we appear, how confident we feel, and how effectively our ideas land. We talk about simplifying wardrobe choices to reduce decision fatigue, and why smart casual requires more intentionality than it first appears. We also touch on gender differences in style complexity, how to be yourself and be stylish, and what role fabric choice plays in comfort and sustainability. I found it incredibly insightful — and just a little bit confronting — in all the right ways.Connect with KayConnect with Kay on LinkedInDownload her free Style Guide for Business LeadersBook a free 20 minute style consultation with KayAbout AndyI'm an experienced business leader and a passionate developer of people in the automotive finance industry, internationally.During over twenty five years, I have played a key role in developing businesses including Alphabet UK, BMW Corporate Finance UK, BMW Financial Services Singapore, BMW Financial Services New Zealand and Tesla Financial Services UK.At the same time, I have coached individuals and delivered leadership development programmes in 17 countries across Asia, Europe and North America.I started Aquilae in 2016 to enable “Fulfilling Performance” in the mobility industry, internationally.Learn more about Fulfilling PerformanceCheck out Release the handbrake! This week I'm joined by Kay Korsh, former celebrity stylist turned speaker style strategist. After 20 years dressing A-listers and working with luxury brands, Kay now helps professional speakers align their wardrobe with their message. We talk about what speakers get wrong with their style, why being fashionable isn't the goal, and how your wardrobe can either build or break audience trust. Kay explains why digitising your wardrobe is a game-changer, how mindful consumption applies to speakers, and what you should consider before buying one more jacket. If you want to feel confident on stage and look like the fee you're charging, this one's for you. Kay has shared some useful links: LI: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kay-korsh/ Colour Quiz for Professional Speakers: https://kkorsh.outgrow.us/speakers-colourtest Ultimate step-by-step guide to looking great on stage: https://outfit.mindoverfashion.com/look-great-on-stage-as-a-professional-speaker
Let's be honest — most speakers spend a lot of time crafting their talk, but when it comes to what they wear on stage? That's often a rushed afterthought… or a full-blown panic. Are you second-guessing whether your outfit actually helps or hinders your message? Ever watched back your talk and thought, “What was I thinking with that jacket?” Or maybe you've stuck to the same ‘safe' outfit for years, even though it doesn't really feel like you anymore? Well, this episode is for you. Because how you show up visually matters. Not in a “fashion week” kind of way, but in a connection, confidence and credibility kind of way. And to help us nail that balance between comfort, authenticity and speaker presence, I've brought in stylist to the speakers — Kay Korsh. Kay's not your average personal stylist. She's dressed A-list celebrities, worked with luxury magazines, and now she's on a mission to help speakers look the part, feel amazing, and avoid wardrobe disasters that distract from their message. She's the real deal — equal parts savvy, stylish and strategic. What you'll discover: The #1 thing your outfit might be silently saying about you (and how to fix it) Why you ‘shouldn't' dress like a model... and who you should model instead How to develop a signature style that makes you stand out — without feeling uncomfortable A simple way to stop your outfit undermining you on stage How to travel without looking like you slept in your suitcase (yes, even in linen) Why certain colours can drain you on stage — and how to make them work with your brand Plus… how Kay helped one client land her biggest gig just by changing her outfit (it's a cracking story). How styling for speakers differs from people in the entertainment industry. How speakers get the balance right between sharing their authentic self and personality, whilst still meeting event and audience expectations when it comes to their wardrobe choices. Cost-effective ways to elevate your professional appearance, if you're on a budget So whether you're a keynote pro or just starting to get your message out there, this episode will help you sharpen your image, simplify your wardrobe, and show up with more power on stage — without losing your personality.

Kay Korsh is a mom of two who spent her whole adult life working with high-end brands and dressing actors like Lily James and Elizabeth Debicki. Even before having her kids, the work she had been doing felt superficial and unnecessary (for example, getting someone to drive for a hundred miles to get another £400 pair of boots for a five min shot for a campaign, just because the client felt the other boots, which were approved before, weren't "just right"). After having kids, she knew she had to pivot. It all started on a drop-off walk to school, when a fellow mom asked her what she did. She responded, "I'm a fashion stylist." And the mom's response was: “Don't we all need one.” She thought that was a sign and for the last two years, she has been helping moms all over the world gain more confidence and find their unique look, which is aligned with their personality.
