On today's episode of the Cadillac Jack – My Second Act podcast, Donna knows she's not supposed to look, but she just can't help it. This weekend, Donna tagged along with Charlotte to play the role of “wrestling mom” at the state championship in Macon. Now, Donna has played a lot of mom roles, but wrestling was not one she'd checked off the list until now. It's a very violent sport. And the uniforms are very revealing. In more serious news, Kyle Jacobs, a country music songwriter and husband to Kellie Pickler, died by apparent suicide this weekend at the couple's home in Nashville. Kellie was in the house when it happened. Donna and Caddy talk once more about the overwhelming state of our country's mental health crisis and the state of mind someone must be in to make a choice like Kyle did. You reach a point in your life where you finally realize, who you are is more important than what you think you're supposed to be in the world. That's when you take the stand to say, "Sorry, not sorry," and then write an amazing song about that exact subject. Drawing upon her own talent and DNA as daughter of Maurice Gibb - one third of BeeGees fame - Samantha Gibb, shares how she has come to a space where showing her true colors as a musical talent, and as an authentic person is the only way to put Good Lovin, out in the world. About Samantha Samantha was born and raised in Miami Beach, Florida and now lives in Nashville, TN. Sam's father, legendary Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees, vastly influenced her life and her music. She has said, “Growing up watching my father and my uncles really set the bar for what kind of musician and songwriter I wanted to be”. In 2004, after her father passed away, Sam partnered with Lazaro Rodriguez, creating M.E.G. Records/M.E.G. Productions (M.E.G. being the acronym for her father's initials, Maurice Ernest Gibb). “It was a way for me to keep my dad's personal studio alive and making sure the instruments would always be played.” Samantha has said. In 2007, along with her band and studio, Sam relocated to Nashville, TN. Upon arriving, Sam began to work on a music documentary called “A Nashville State of Mind”. The film was inspired by the musicians she met and the evolving music scene she encountered while living in East Nashville at that time. “A Nashville State of Mind” was accepted into over 15 film festivals and won the best international music doc in 2008 at the LA/NY International film and music festival. In 2010, her band, Samantha Gibb and The Cartel, crossed the pond for her first U.K. tour to promote her album “Wrong Side”. Later that year, they followed up with an acoustic tour of the East Coast. In February 2012, Sam performed at the Hard Rock Live in Ft. Lauderdale with her Uncle, Barry Gibb. With great success from the show, she continued to tour with her uncle on his Mythology Tour where she performed in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland and North America until 2014. In the beginning of 2015, Sam sang with again with her uncle at the Miami Beach Centennial show in Miami Beach, FL. In 2016, Sam began to work on a tribute album for her father and her uncles (Robin Gibb, Barry Gibb, and Andy Gibb), titled “The Gibb Collective”. The song titled “Please Don't Turn Out the Lights” brought together her family, including the eldest children of Barry, Maurice, Robin, and Andy. The album included covers of their music with a different style and new flavor. The album was released in 2017 for Father's Day. In 2021, she collaborated with award winning country singer-songwriter Kyle Jacobs on her single, “Spiraling" and later that year she released “Christmas in a Small Town” which she wrote with Kyle Jacobs and another award winning songwriter, Tony Wood. In July of this year she released her newest singles “Good Lovin'” and followed up with “Sorry, Not Sorry” at the end of September. Samantha's writing is unique and has a versatile musical sound that blends perfectly with her sultry vocals. We had a great conversation with Zoee on The Chris & Sandy Show. We talked about many things from family, music, sacrifices, she told some great stories including one about Rod Stewart plus a whole lot more!!! Raised in a family of musicians, music was Zoee's first language. The award-winning crossover pop-country Australian native - with her distinctive vocals and honest, emotional lyrics - is a star about to go Supernova. Most recently, Zoee won "Song of the Year" 2021 at the Women of Country Awards and "Best Folk Band/Duo/Group of the Year" and "Best Group of the Year" at the FPCM Awards 2020. Having already written and sung a feature film soundtrack, topped the Scottish New Music Charts, charted in the Top 20 on Amazon Country Chart, and toured the U.K, Ireland, and the U S., where she has performed at hundreds of festivals and support shows, played at the prestigious Bluebird Cafe and the CMA Festival in Nashville with her band, the future is bright for Zoee.Zoee recently moved to Nashville in 2022 and is currently collaborating with Grammy nominated and winning songwriters, including James House, Jeff Cohen, Steve Dorff and Kyle Jacobs to name a few. Critics are saying of Zoee's latest release "...'It Ain't Love' gives us an overall look at the signatures that Zoee brings to the table with very solid lyrics, a vocal ability that sees her utilizing the entire range of her voice to hit the emotional highs and lows, and a sound that throws it back to the powerhouse vocal era of 90's country, but she perfectly stays steeped in the here and now." - Jeffery Kurtis (Today's Country)

Tonight Kyle started off the next letter of our EMPTY series: T, for "Teaching". Jesus has died, resurrected, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God. He's given the Holy Spirit to His disciples and empowered them to take the Gospel to Jerusalem, Judea/Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. They've planted churches and started communities all over the place. But what is a fledgling church to do when they are a new community in a hostile, pagan culture? They need to be TAUGHT how to live out the Gospel. That's exactly what the letters intend to do! Tonight, Kyle Jacobs took us through Paul's letters in under an hour, giving us the main point and key themes of each letter, and why they matter to us. Thanks for joining us!
I sat down with this trio of Nashville hit-makers at SOWAL House in Rosemary Beach, FL during the 30a Songwriters Festival. Matt Wynn isn't just an accomplished songwriter, but an up and coming artist, opening for headliners Luke Combs and Brett Young. Matt even sings one of his songs during this episode. Listen as these songwriters detail the songwriting process and creating hits along Florida's Emerald Coast.

Another GREAT session we did on the fly at the 2017 30A Songwriter Festival, this one with Kyle Jacobs. A fantastic Nashville based songwriter that has written a #1 song for Garth Brooks...oh, and you may know him as Kellie Pickler's husband. Hear about why they love 30A so much, and a little about what being part of a #1 song feels like. Recorded live in the airstream with studio audience. Live performance of his song "More Than a Memory" written by Lee Brice, Billy Montana and Kyle Jacobs and recorded by American country music artist Garth Brooks. It was released in August 27, 2007 and it became the first song to debut at number one in the entire history of Billboard country charts.
Extremely honored to have Kyle Jacobs drop by our Gulfstream studios and perform a song he wrote for Garth Brooks which debuted at #1...More than a Memory.
