Send us Fan MailAaron, Trent, and Peaches sit down with Justus, a Security Forces airman out of Moody Air Force Base, to talk about one of the nastiest, coolest, and most under-discussed opportunities in the Air Force: jungle warfare training in Panama.Justus walks through how he ended up in the Air Force, why Security Forces was not what he expected, and how a career field that gets roasted constantly can still open doors if you are fit, positive, prepared, and willing to say yes when opportunities show up.He breaks down life in Security Forces, deploying to Prince Sultan Air Base, supporting the F-22 demo team, competing in Defender Challenge, and eventually getting to the 820th Base Defense Group at Moody — a unit built around defending and opening forward air bases in contested environments. Then the episode gets into the real reason he is here: Panama Jungle School. We talk tents, heat, humidity, malaria meds, mosquitoes, botflies, leaf cutter ants, black palm, trench foot, dysentery, wet boots, wet uniforms, and the harsh reality that the jungle itself is usually the hardest enemy. Justus explains the combat water survival assessment, jungle 5K, knot tests, survival phase, food and water procurement, firecraft, shelter building, rope systems, Z-pulley, one-rope bridge, jungle tactics, and the final Green Mile. The best part? He is not bitter, negative, or trying to scare anyone away. His message is simple: Security Forces has opportunities everywhere, but you have to be ready when they appear. Be in shape. Ask questions. Find the people doing hard things. Say yes.If you are in Security Forces, stop telling yourself the job is just gates and patrol cars. There is more out there. July 31, 2026 - Season 17, Episode 2 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, that was recorded Thursday night, Alex Kozora and I start by giving some overarching thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers 2026 training camp with their first two practices now completed. The Steelers had eight players in for tryouts on Thursday, so Alex and I recap that list. We also discuss the two free agents that came in for visits on Thursday with S Jordan Whitehead being the marquee player. We discuss how Whitehead isn't likely to sign anywhere for a little while as he might decide to entertain a few more visits with other NFL teams. Steelers HC Mike McCarthy revealed his six pillars for team success on Thursday, so Alex and I recap those during this show. We also recap a few other things that McCarthy said on Thursday in addition to reviewing a few things that quarterbacks Will Howard and Mason Rudolph have said this week. ILB Patrick Queen recently gave his thoughts on his 2025 play, so we go over his self-evaluation and where his play needs to improve in 2026. OT Broderick Jones return from a serious 2025 neck injury seems to be going well so Alex and I discuss where he is at in his rehab and the possibility of him playing in at least one preseason game, if not all of them. This 50-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we end things by answering three questions we received on X. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Coach Tory and Coach Don welcome you to Episode 429 of Everything Fastpitch. They share a Did You Know? noting over $9 million in NIL deals have been denied, seeking listener clarification. A listener asks how to keep defenders engaged behind a dominant strikeout pitcher; the hosts suggest emphasizing communication, positioning, backup responsibilities, and practicing game-speed defensive reps. In an interview, Gosia Betancourt describes her son Joshua's transition from intense elite gymnastics to elite diving, the family's emotional adjustment, and the importance of listening to children; she also discusses managing perfectionism, injuries, coach communication, and using online schooling for academic rigor and flexibility. The coaching tip urges travel-ball coaches to align tryout advertising with realistic commitments, especially claims about player development versus heavy tournament schedules.Crimson Global AcademySupport the show

Send us Fan MailYour son makes a top travel or select team and suddenly everything feels urgent. Tryouts, fees, rankings, showcases, guest players, tournament schedules, recruiting promises. We slow the moment down and ask the question that actually protects families: are you buying real player development, or are you buying a uniform and a calendar? We sit down with Bobby Minor, a former D1 player and longtime coach who now helps baseball parents make smarter decisions from Little League through high school baseball and into college baseball. We talk about the hidden “most expensive” part of youth travel baseball: uninformed choices made out of fear, comparison, and pressure. Bobby breaks down early bloomers versus late bloomers, why so many kids quit by 14, and how work ethic and patience beat hype almost every time.We also get practical. What should you ask a travel team before you commit? Bobby explains why guest player policies matter, how the true all-in cost can double once uniforms, facility fees, hotels, and gate charges hit, and what a real development plan should look like when a player struggles. Then we tackle arm care and pitcher overuse on weekends, plus the truth about Perfect Game and PBR rankings as marketing tools versus real recruiting signals. If you want clearer priorities, fewer regrets, and a healthier path through travel baseball, hit play, subscribe, share this with a baseball parent, and leave a quick review so more families can find it.Support the showFollow: X | @BCUPod / IG @baseballcoachesunplugged Website - https://www.athlete1.netSponsor: The Netting Professionalshttps://www.nettingpros.com

Are cheer tryouts stressing you out more than your athlete? Tryout season brings pressure, anxiety, comparison, and endless overthinking for both athletes and parents. In this episode, Jason and Gina pull back the curtain on the emotional rollercoaster of callbacks, team placements, level expectations, and the difficult decisions coaches face behind the scenes. This episode also offers reassurance for athletes and parents struggling with rejection, pressure, or uncertainty during one of the most emotional parts of cheer season. Tryout season is done. And whether your kid made the team or didn't, this episode is for you. Derek Boogaard just finished three weeks of evaluations — two teams he coached personally, five or six more he assisted with, and conversations with roughly 250 players. And the same problem kept showing up everywhere. It wasn't skating. It wasn't hands. It wasn't compete level. It was Hockey IQ. Kids who couldn't answer basic questions about strong side, weak side, or what they're supposed to do away from the puck. Kids whose hands were moving faster than their feet. Kids who could score 25 goals at Double A but had no idea how to earn ice time at Triple A. This episode breaks down exactly what coaches are looking for — and it's not the 15 most skilled players. It's the right players. The ones who can play a role, kill penalties, win battles in the d-zone, and connect the dots in real game situations. If your kid didn't make the team they wanted — or if they did and they want to stay there — this is the episode to listen to. You have one year until next tryouts. What you do between now and then is completely up to you. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Carlos Bocanegra joins Jason Longshore to talk about Atlanta FC, his new boutique youth club built on a model American youth soccer rarely sees: one team per age group, one dedicated coach per team, and a family-first environment where parents get the training session plan after every practice and are welcome at team talks. Bocanegra talks about why he stopped playing soccer for nine months in high school because of a bad coaching experience, why the late bloomer is the player most at risk in the current system, and what he hopes Atlanta FC can do to start changing the culture of youth development nationally. Jason adds context on the staff: Liam Curran, nine years at Atlanta United and currently working with U.S. Youth National Teams, as Director of Goalkeeping, and Dr. Ryan Alexander, founding High Performance Director at Atlanta United, in the same role at Atlanta FC. Tryouts are May 18 through 20 at Oglethorpe University in Brookhaven. More at atlantafootballclub.com. Then it's What's On Tap, sponsored by Michelob Ultra, official beer sponsor of FIFA World Cup 26. Arsenal are going to Budapest for their first Champions League final in 20 years. Jason breaks down the most statistically dominant European campaign any English club has put together in the modern format, what Mikel Arteta has had to manage to get there, and why dismissing the PSG-Bayern first leg as poorly defended is the wrong take entirely. Preview of tomorrow's second leg in Munich, where Bayern need two goals and both managers have said neither team is coming to defend. The 3-4-3, brought to you by Ford, closes the show. Local stories cover the AU2 road win over Carolina Core, the full boys high school quarterfinal bracket with all four classifications, and the girls semifinal picture including Model's 6-0 win in Rome with Emily Gentry's first-half hat trick. Four headlines: Arsenal's Premier League title door opens wider after City drop points against Everton, the Neymar assault allegation at Santos involving Robinho Jr., Mourinho extension talks accelerating at Benfica with Real Madrid circling and a ten-day release clause window approaching, and Hearts three points clear of Celtic with three matches left chasing the first Scottish title by a club outside the Old Firm since Sir Alex Ferguson's Aberdeen in 1985. Three smile stories: the Rosario Central dog who turned out to belong to a Newell's Old Boys family, Cooper Sanchez getting better every single match and deserving national attention he is not getting, and the crowd in Rome for Model's state quarterfinal win.

The Step Back Man Swing System, Pitch Count Horrors & Choosing the Harder ThingIn this episode of "the world's most dangerous youth baseball podcast," host Deven Morgan uses Mike Trout's new step-back load to launch a takedown of one-system hitting instruction and tee-obsessed youth development — if one of the best players ever is adding new moves mid-career, what are we doing grooming 10-year-olds for aesthetic perfection? He then dismantles Mark DeRosa's claim that Kevin McGonigle's bat speed "can't be taught," arguing that rising velocity thresholds across baseball prove elite output is far more accessible than conventional wisdom admits. "This Week in Pitch Counts" returns with horror shows — a 14U kid throwing 168 pitches across two days, a 75-pitch one-inning outing in April — contrasted with coaches in Georgia who proactively coordinated workload across a player's two teams. The episode closes with a personal reflection on parenting a junior through his high school season: the highs of a 13-K complete game shutout, the emotional weight of recruiting timelines, and a couch conversation where his son, facing a step up to national-level summer competition, simply said "I'm ready" — a moment Deven values not for baseball, but for what it reveals about character.Timestamps:00:00 Intro & Housekeeping: Tryouts Now Open03:40 Step Back Man: Mike Trout's New Load & the Myth of One Swing09:20 Why Young Hitters Get "Bodied" by the Bat — Engine Before Skill11:00 The Tee Problem: Blocked Reps vs. Perception-Action Coupling14:00 Train Parents to Flip, Not to Coach Mechanics15:20 The Grocery List of Swing Flaws — Who Cares If He Catches Barrels?19:30 "You Can't Teach That" — DeRosa, McGonigle & the Walled Garden of Performance26:00 This Week in Pitch Counts: 168 Pitches in Two Days34:45 75 Pitches in One Inning — "It Ain't Little League Elbow, It's Who-Cares-About-Your-Elbow"38:15 Doing It Right: Distributed Pitching & the Walt Schiller / Rodney Dickerson Example48:00 Junior Year: Complete Game Shutout, Recruiting Pressure & Learning Over Fear01:01:50 The Parent Signal: Accountability for How We Treat Poor Performance01:05:00 "I'm Ready" — Choosing the Harder Thing01:07:00 Aging, Perspective & What Character Reveals01:11:50 Closing: Roman Reigns, Tryouts & Powered by DrivelineLinks:https://t.co/R7TLVHE2EU

Title: Building the Whole Athlete: 210 United Basketball with Coaches William Collins and Alexis WilliamsDescription: In this episode of I Am Refocused Radio, host Shemaiah Reed sits down with Coach William Collins (Head Coach of 210 United Basketball) and Coach Alexis Williams (Head Coach of the Women's Varsity team) to discuss their transformative approach to youth sports in San Antonio. Moving beyond just drills and jump shots, the 210 United program focuses on "building the whole athlete"—mind, body, and soul. Coach Collins reveals how the program has expanded to include free mentoring services, community outreach, and even legal representation for athletes navigating NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deals through a partnership with Zion Sports Agency. Coach Alexis Williams shares her passion for the rising platform of women's basketball and the importance of creating a "safe space" for young athletes to grow both on and off the court. Whether you are a parent looking for a program with high standards and low costs, or an athlete ready to find your "Midwest swag" in Texas, this conversation highlights why 210 United is more than just a team—it's a family. Key highlights include:Details on upcoming Girls' Tryouts and how to join the program. The importance of mentorship and character building in modern youth sports.Advice for athletes on managing social media and staying "recruitable."The philosophy of "getting back to basics" to ensure players succeed at the college level.Connect with 210 United:Website: 210united.comSocial Media: @210United on Facebook, Instagram, and X.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/i-am-refocused-radio--2671113/support.Subscribe now at YouTube.com/@RefocusedNetworkThank you for your time.
