✅ Was verwirft man wieder?

CYBERPUNK RED How to Play 2 - Character Creation: Mr. Rogers Builds a Cult

Character creation in Cyberpunk RED is simple. First, choose whether you want to be a violent criminal, a corporate criminal, or a musician who can accidentally start a cult. Then roll enough childhood trauma to explain why you live in a shipping container. This week, Randall creates Cyberpunk Mr. Rogers, a relentlessly loving rockerboy whose most treasured possession is a weapon, while Tyler creates a fashionable netrunner who values money, wants power, steals programs from people he brain-burns, and has somehow made a mortal enemy entirely through bad vibes. Meanwhile, Riverside attempts to achieve sentience by transforming Ash into a robot every time he says something useful. Show Notes In the second installment of our Cyberpunk RED Quickstart, Ash guides Randall and Tyler through character creation while Riverside fights desperately to prevent the information from reaching anyone. We begin with Cyberpunk RED's three character-creation methods. Streetrat gets a character onto the streets quickly with mostly predetermined options. Complete Package gives experienced players much more control over their statistics, skills, equipment, fashion, and cyberware. Between them is Edgerunner, which provides meaningful choices while keeping new players away from the most dangerous form of cyberpsychosis: analysis paralysis. Ash introduces the game's roles, including Solos, Netrunners, Techs, Medtechs, Medias, Execs, Lawmen, Fixers, Nomads, and Rockerboys. Randall briefly considers playing an Exec before discovering that a Rockerboy can become a cult leader through Charismatic Impact. At that point, the decision is effectively over. Tyler chooses a Netrunner, giving the team one character who gathers followers and another who steals people's files. The Lifepath system quickly demonstrates why Cyberpunk characters rarely arrive in Night City emotionally healthy. Randall develops a silly, free-spirited rockerboy who values friendship, believes every person matters, and loves everyone too much to name a single favorite person. He grew up around comfortable corporate technicians before living aboard a traveling ship, where musicians taught him to perform. Then the ship sank. His family and mentor died, but Randall's character survived by floating to safety on his mentor's acoustic guitar. After living freely on an island, he was eventually rescued and returned to a society he no longer believes anyone needs. His new mission is to escape life on the street and bring everyone else with him. He is essentially Cyberpunk Mr. Rogers, assuming Mr. Rogers had piercings, cyberware, and a guitar that kills fascists. Tyler's Netrunner develops in the opposite direction. He is sneaky, deceptive, fashionable, motivated by money, and interested in gaining power and control. He grew up in a nomad pack among ruined settlements before his family lost everything through betrayal. He works alone from a workspace full of gamer debris, accepts jobs from media figures and political or law-enforcement contacts, and has local gangers protecting his territory. He also steals programs from Netrunners after brain-burning them, which raises several questions about why anyone continues giving Tyler characters unrestricted access to technology. Both characters somehow roll three friends, multiple enemies, and enough tragic relationships to support several seasons of prestige television. One shared rival may merely insult Randall's rockerboy but wants to murder Tyler's Netrunner on sight, apparently because Tyler's personality failed a vibe check so badly that it became a capital offense. The episode finishes with statistics, derived attributes, skills, weapons, armor, fashion, housing, and cyberware. Randall's Rockerboy receives an audio recorder, chemskin, a cyberaudio suite, and tech hair. Both characters begin life in cargo containers, because even in the dark future, affordable housing remains the most unrealistic part of science fiction. Finally, Randall names his new rockerboy Marky Day, short for Marquette Lafayette. The stage is set for Marky and Tyler's deeply suspicious Netrunner to enter Night City, find work, make enemies, and enjoy the approximate life expectancy of a mayfly standing beneath an Arasaka boot. Key Takeaways Cyberpunk RED offers three approaches to character creation: the fast Streetrat method, the guided Edgerunner method, and the highly customizable Complete Package. Edgerunner is presented as the strongest option for new players because it offers choices while keeping characters functional in their selected roles. Roles define much more than combat abilities. They determine how characters influence the setting, find work, form connections, and solve problems. Execs can be challenging for inexperienced players because their corporate loyalties may clash with the anti-establishment motivations of other characters. Rockerboys use Charismatic Impact to influence fans and larger groups. They do not need to be musicians and can instead be poets, artists, dancers, political speakers, or cult leaders. The Lifepath system is the heart of character creation. Random results establish personality, cultural background, clothing, relationships, family history, enemies, romances, goals, and role-specific connections. Players are not always required to accept a random result literally. The group frequently interprets, expands, combines, or rerolls results to create a more coherent character. Randall's Rockerboy becomes a hopeful, compassionate performer whose optimism is supported by a profoundly tragic history. Tyler's Netrunner becomes an ambitious and morally questionable hacker with criminal contacts, a messy workspace, stolen programs, and multiple people who want him dead. Fashion has social importance. Clothing affects how characters are perceived by corporate employees, street contacts, potential clients, and criminals. Characters must balance equipment and cyberware against their available money and Humanity. More cyberware provides useful abilities but gradually reduces the character's Humanity and Empathy. Starting characters begin at rank four in their primary role ability. Lower ranks exist partly to support acquiring abilities from additional roles later. Both characters begin in cargo-container housing, establishing their place near the bottom of Night City's economic food chain. Character creation succeeds because the mechanics generate story hooks rather than merely numbers. Before the game begins, the characters already have friends, enemies, trauma, ambitions, rivalries, and several excellent reasons for everything to go terribly wrong.

Gostou do tema? The 4 Structural Fixes That Protect Solo PR Pros from Burnout

Episode Summary If you've read one burnout wellness listicle, you've read them all — sleep more, take a walk, set boundaries, breathe. Karen and Michelle aren't repeating any of that, because you already know it. Instead, Episode 350 treats burnout as a business risk: something that shows up on your profit and loss statement before it shows up in a therapist's notes. Industry surveys show 91% of PR professionals reported poor mental health in the past year, 54% of solo founders reported burnout, and burnout is now cited as the single biggest predictor of solo business failure, ahead of bad strategy. In the episode, the hosts discuss four fixes, none of them spa days: an absence clause in your standard client agreement, a named backup partner you have already introduced to key clients, a deliberate client mix redesign to reduce decision fatigue, and a financial runway fund treated exactly like a quarterly tax line item. They close on the business case for community — not as a soft add-on, but as the operational fix that addresses isolation at 7.6 out of 10 and gives you back the reality-check system that disappears when you work alone. This is a milestone 350th episode that sounds less like an anniversary, and more like a conversation your business has needed for a while. Episode Highlights [00:38] Burnout as a Business Risk, Not a Wellness Topic: Karen reframes the episode before the intro ends: this is not a wellness listicle. Burnout shows up on your P&L before it shows up in a therapist's notes. The solo-specific dimension, as Michelle names it, is structural — you are the entire org chart, and there is no one to hand anything to. That changes both the causes and the fixes. [01:51] The Industry Data: What the Numbers Actually Show: Karen walks through PR-specific research: half of PR professionals surveyed had seriously considered leaving in the past year because of burnout, 44% had actually left a previous job for the same reason, 96% report trouble switching off after work, and 88% say work interrupted their vacation at least once — with almost half of those reporting more than three interruptions per year. A separate survey from the PR and Communications Association and the Chartered Institute of PR found 91% of PR professionals reported poor mental health in the past year. Karen and Michelle flag that some of this data is a couple of years old but note nothing about how the industry operates suggests it has improved. [04:47] The Solo-Specific Layer: Burnout as the Top Business Failure Predictor: Founder research places burnout among solo founders at around 54%, with three in four reporting anxiety episodes. The finding that stops Karen mid-sentence: burnout is now cited as the single biggest predictor of solo business failure — ahead of bad strategy, wrong niche, or incorrect pricing. Solo founders self-report loneliness at 7.6 out of 10 on average. Karen's framing: isolation is not just an emotional problem; it is an operational problem with a measurable business cost. [07:29] Why Standard Burnout Advice Doesn't Apply to Solos: The wellness industry's standard prescription assumes a team, a manager, HR, and PTO policies. Solos have none of those. Michelle's point lands clearly: you can't delegate to reduce your load, you can't call in sick without a client impact, and you can't take a vacation without first solving the 'who covers this' problem from scratch. The fixes that work for employed practitioners are structurally inapplicable. You need fixes that match the actual org chart — which is you. [08:43] Fix 1: The Absence Clause in Your Standard Client Agreement: Karen's first structural fix: add a clause to your standard client contract that spells out what happens when you are unavailable, planned or unplanned. What is the notification window, what is the contingency, and who is the named backup? Michelle flags that this is not a sign of weakness but a business continuity feature. Any smart client would want to see it from a vendor they're paying. Karen: tell clients about that arrangement before an emergency forces the conversation, and frame it as exactly what it is. [12:25] Fix 2: A Named Backup Partner You Have Already Introduced: The second fix goes further than just having a backup plan. You need a specific named person your clients already know exists. Not a theoretical arrangement you'd scramble to activate in a crisis, but a relationship you've built in advance with someone whose work you trust and who understands your clients well enough to step in without a cold start. Karen and Michelle both note this is one of the highest-value things the Solo PR Pro community provides: a vetted pool of peers you can actually trust with a client when you need to step back. [16:52] Fix 3: Redesign Your Client Mix to Reduce Decision Fatigue: The Muck Rack data Karen cites shows 45% of PR pros juggling seven or more projects or accounts at once, with workload named as the single biggest stressor in the survey. Michelle makes the decision-fatigue case: ten small project clients each with their own cadence, tools, and personal definition of urgent will burn you out faster than three deeper retainer relationships, even if the revenue is identical because you're spending more of yourself per dollar earned. Fewer relationships, fewer daily judgment calls, less strain on your brain. Karen connects this directly to the specialization economy episode: specializing isn't just a pricing play, it's a nervous system play. [22:59] Fix 4: A Financial Runway Earmarked for Stepping Back: The fourth fix is specific: treat two to four weeks of 'totally unreachable' as a budget line item you're actually saving toward, in the same lane as quarterly taxes. Karen calls it burnout insurance. The logic: if the money already exists for the pause, you are far more likely to take it before you are forced into it by illness or collapse. This doesn't mean saving a large sum immediately; it means building the habit and giving the fund a name, which makes it real rather than just a thought you swat away before the next task. [25:20] Community as an Operational Fix, Not a Soft Add-On: Karen and Michelle close on the business case for community framed explicitly as an operational fix in the same category as a contract clause or a financial buffer. Karen's framing: when you're the only person in the room, you lose the ability to tell the difference between 'this is genuinely urgent' and 'I've been alone with this problem too long and it started to feel enormous.' A peer network gives you that reality-check system back. Michelle: for a solo, community may be the single highest-leverage structural fix on the entire list. [28:10] The One Takeaway Karen Wants You to Leave With: Karen's closing ask: don't let the takeaway be 'try to relax more.' Instead, audit your business the way you would audit a client's crisis plan. Where is your single point of failure? What actually happens if you're offline, unplanned, for 48 hours? If you don't have an answer, that's your project for this month. Not a retreat. Not a spa day. A contract clause, a named backup partner, an honest client mix review, and a runway line item.

In near-perfect conditions following a week of brutal French heat, Sunday's Paris Diamond League produced three Diamond League records. In this episode:– Audrey Werro came to Paris explicitly targeting the women's 800m world record and ran a personal best of 1:53.80 — a Diamond League record, meet record, world lead, and Swiss national record. She's now the only woman ever with multiple sub-1:54 performances (three of them, all this season). The world record is 1:53.28, set by Jarmila Kratochvílová in 1983. Werro is 0.52 back.– Femke Broeders-Bol's 800m transition is real. The reigning 400m hurdles world champion ran 1:55.60 in the 800m — a massive personal best — finishing second behind Werro's Diamond League record. Her move to the 800m is no longer an experiment.– Cam Myers ran 3:28.00 in the Paris Diamond League 1500m — a personal best by over a second, the 27th fastest time in history, and faster than Jakob Ingebrigtsen at the same age (Jakob ran 3:28.68 at 20). Myers beat a field that included 3:27 man Azeddine Habz and 2025 World Championship medalists Jake Wightman and Reynold Cheruiyot– What it all means for the Bowerman Mile at the Prefontaine Classic– Grant Fisher won the Paris Diamond League 5000m in 12:54.80, edging Jacob Krop (12:55.22) and Andreas Almgren (12:55.38) in a stacked field where ten athletes broke 13:00. The win also marked the fifth Diamond League victory by an American men's mid-distance runner in 2026 — the most ever in a single year, with seven meets still remaining.– Marco Arop dominates the men's 800m. He confirmed after the race that he intends to go for the record this year: “Clearly I'm in shape for it”– Trayvon Bromell beats Noah Lyles and there's Twitter comments afterward by the Olympic champion– Jamal Britt runs 12.89 PB in Paris — his 10th win of 2026, his 12th meet since April– Collen Kebinatshipi runs 43.54 Diamond League record in Paris. + More highlights and shout-outs from around the running world including Western States.____________Hosts: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavez + Preet Majithia | @preet_athletics + Mac Fleet | @macfleetProduced by: Jasmine Fehr | @jasminefehr____________SUPPORT OUR SPONSORSBANDIT: For 2026, Bandit is providing support for any Unsponsored athletes competing at the USATF Outdoor Championships.
