Welcome to The Chopping Block – where crypto insiders Haseeb Qureshi, Tom Schmidt, Tarun Chitra, and Robert Leshner chop it up about the latest in crypto. In this episode, the crew dives into the drama surrounding the OM token crash, the murky world of fake market caps, and Binance's role in fueling questionable projects. They unpack Trump's tariff chaos and whether Bitcoin could emerge as the real winner in a broken economic order. This week, we're talking about one of our favorite historical romances, Jeannie Lin's Butterfly Swords. This is one we've mentioned on previous episodes, and discussed at length during Jeannie's Trailblazer episode, as it is the first own voices Asian-set historical romance. We talk about all of it, including the absolutely devastating first kiss—one that should go down in romance history. Do you have a story you'd like to share on TWTDNH or are you a subject matter expert who would like to shed light on any of the topics I cover? Shoot me a message! In this deeply emotional and thought-provoking episode, Tressa returns after an unplanned hiatus to tackle an array of systemic issues. From navigating the complexities of domestic violence, military accountability, and the enduring trauma of war, this episode serves as a powerful blend of storytelling, advocacy, and education. The host shares updates on the tragic cases of Dana Alotaibi, Mischa Johnson, Ruby Alcantar, and Madalyn Coulter—stories that expose systemic failures in protecting female individuals within military communities. Through these narratives, the host highlights the resilience of victims' families and the legislative progress inspired by their efforts, including the introduction of "Mischa's Law." Special attention is given to the heartbreaking story of Madalyn Coulter, a veteran and mother whose life was cut short by an act of premeditated violence. Her legacy is honored, and her story is a call to action against the enabling of abusive behavior and the glorification of perpetrators under the guise of mental health struggles. The episode also delves into the hidden costs of war, challenging the glorification of military service and exposing the long-lasting impact of war on service members and their families. Whether you are a true crime enthusiast, an advocate for domestic violence awareness, or someone seeking a deeper understanding of military culture and its ripple effects, this episode offers a compelling mix of education, advocacy, and inspiration. Tune in to honor the victims, challenge societal norms, and join the fight for justice and systemic change.Sources for this episode: https://www.savannahnow.com/story/news/crime/2022/07/19/former-nine-line-apparel-employees-dead-apparent-murder-suicide-savannah-georgia/10096188002/https://www.wjcl.com/article/nine-line-savannah-murder-suicide/40654716Interview excerpt with fiancé Blake taken from: Joe Pags Show Interview excerpt of close friend/brother Josh discussing Zachary Scalf video taken from an interview with WTF NATION RADIO
[School of Everything Else 2025] All the way back in 2017 I put together an absolutely EPIC musical journey through the first eight years of the MCU, from Iron Man all the way up to Doctor Strange. So much time has passed since then (cue many gifs of Matt Damon drinking from the wrong Grail) and Marvel has not followed my sound advice about allowing each hero (and maybe a villain or two) to retain a theme that reprises with every subsequent appearance. However, that does not mean there haven't been some truly excellent scores composed, which got side-lined in the clickbaity rush to pronounce Marvel as being formulaic, failing or indeed signifying the baleful death of film. Here for you now is a compendium of themes and sonic explorations as Phase 3 draws to its epic conclusion and Phases 4 and 5 wend their way from the small screen to the big and back again. I look forward to a third volume of these shows sometime in the early 2030s, when the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Secret Wars and whatever happens with Spider-Man and whatever inevitable soft reboot brings us to a new era of superhero cinema. 1. JAG Cast | Episode #122 This week, Chrissie & Steve see a movie! At the time this is published, Chrissie is on vacation, but before she left, the PIC recorded this review of the latest Spider-Verse movie after seeing it at Jenkintown's own Hiway Theater. Steve didn't hate it, but didn't really like it that much either and it made him temporarily color blind. Chrissie really liked Spider-Punk and the hip-hop music. Both thought the movie was two pee breaks too long. But, Gwen fighting in ballet shoes almost made the whole thing worth it. Minor spoilers! David and Goliath is more than a story of the small guy overcoming the big guy. And it's more than a moral story about the importance of faith. Rather it is about God being our champion though David. It is about him fighting for us, him holding our fears, him giving us a way through when we feel afraid. When we are able to admit our fears and our weakness, God can get to work. Ultimately David is the foreshadow of our eternal champion Jesus, who overcomes all that holds us back on the cross. Our challenge is to bring out fears to him and let him deal with them. By Ed Flint

Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna is the most important person in the history of North America that you probably know nothing about. If you have any impression at all about the "Napoleon of the West" it's that he executed all of the defenders of the Alamo and Goliad. You might think of him as a murderer and a traitor. Mexicans think of him as one of the most corrupt dictators in their country's history. But the true story of Santa Anna is much more complex--and much more interesting--than you would ever imagine. In this episode I'm going to try to convince you that we've gotten Santa Anna wrong all along. Elaine Leeder says she was always drawn to the dark side of life. As the daughter of a Holocaust refugee, she has spent the better part of her life trying to understand that darkness. The desire to make sense of that which seems so difficult led her on a journey into one of the darkest places in our society, our prison system. Elaine volunteers in a restorative justice program that offers both victims and offenders the opportunity to face one another, not as adversaries but as equals, to engage in conversations that have the potential to set them free. What she has learned through that work may surprise you. It is the topic of our conversation on the podcast this week. From inside the walls at some of California's most famous prisons, Elaine has worked with some of the most traumatized of individuals. Hurt people hurt people she reminds us. And yet it is in these conversations, through the power of restorative justice, that she has witnessed moments of profound transformation, for both the victim and those who have done the harm. Elaine Leeder is a Professor Emerita of Sociology and the Dean Emerita of the School of Social Sciences at Sonoma State University in California. Previously she was a Professor at Ithaca College, Ithaca NY. She has over 40 years of distinguished accomplishments and experience in academia and public service.
