Blockmate Ventures Inc (TSX-V:MATE, OTCQB:MATEF) chairman Domenic Carosa talked with Proactive about the launch of Hivello's public beta version. This innovative application, described as "Airbnb for your computer," enables users to share resources like storage, IP addresses, CPUs, and GPUs, generating income from idle devices. Carosa highlighted that the app simplifies decentralized participation by requiring minimal technical knowledge—just a computer connected to power and the internet. The beta version already boasts close to 30,000 people on the waitlist and several thousand active nodes, even before the marketing campaign has fully launched. Hivello allows users to contribute to a global decentralized network with no upfront cost, as the company operates on a revenue-sharing model. Carosa emphasized the growing demand for GPUs, particularly for AI model training, as a major driver of interest. He also revealed that Hivello is valued at over C$20 million and is currently raising capital. With Blockmate Ventures owning over 50% of Hivello, Carosa expressed optimism about the project's growth potential. He stated, "The opportunity is almost endless, with millions of unused devices worldwide that can generate income for their owners." Visit Proactive's YouTube channel for more videos. Visit https://www.arenaclub.com/mac for 10% off your first purchase! On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we revisit the experience of using Apple Vision Pro and talk through our first impressions of the iOS 18 public beta. Apple's Vision Pro headset is now available in the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore, prompting renewed interest in the spatial computing device. We discuss our thoughts on the best aspects of the Vision Pro, such as immersive video, spatial photos and video, gestures, and UI design, as well as its shortcomings, such as weight and comfort, video passthrough in dark environments, limited content, and general usefulness. Earlier this week, Apple released the first public beta of iOS 18, bringing the new software to the general public for the first time since the Worldwide Developers Conference in June. Apple has seeded three developer betas so far, and the first public beta includes the same content that's in the third developer beta. We talk over our thoughts on ‌iOS 18‌'s new Home screen and Control Center customization features, the redesigned Photos app, and more. Let us know what you think about the experience of using the Vision Pro headset and the ‌iOS 18‌ beta in the comments.

Tune into this week's podcast episode in which Nino explores the professional capabilities of iOS and iPadOS, focusing on the new iPad Pro with the M4 chip and Final Cut Pro for iPad. He also talks about a review Johnnie did on the TEAMGROUP T-CREATE CinemaPr P31 Portable SSD, and much more. Wait until the end to get more info on MZed's Summer Sale that ends on July 4!  In the latest episode of our CineD podcast “Focus Check”, Nino discusses whether iOS and iPadOS are ready for professional use, focusing on the new iPad Pro with Apple's M4 chip and its performance with Final Cut Pro for iPad. Despite the iPad Pro's impressive hardware, such as its excellent OLED screen and innovative wireless connectivity for live streaming from iPhones, iPadOS's limitations still hinder its full potential for professional workflows. The iPad Pro's screen quality is the best Nino has seen, and emphasizes its bright OLED display. However, he pointed out significant software limitations, like the absence of background processes and a restricted file system, which prevent the device from fully supporting professional editing and multitasking. In the podcast, Nino also reviewed industry updates, including the DaVinci Resolve 19 public beta. This update features live sync from cameras, allowing editors to work on footage while it's being recorded, thus streamlining workflows using Blackmagic Cloud. Additionally, as you may know, we enjoy reviewing filmmaking tools for you - this week, Johnnie put the TEAMGROUP T-CREATE CinemaPr P31 Portable SSD to the test. Also, Nino talks about the Ignite DGX's control deck for DJI transmission, which enhances camera operator control. FUJIFILM announced firmware updates for several cameras, adding new film simulations and improving functionality, showing their ongoing support for existing products. Stay tuned until the end to learn about big discounts on MZed's educational content, especially the DaVinci Resolve 18.5 course that offers comprehensive training for aspiring filmmakers.   Chapters:   00:00 - Intro 01:10 - Final Cut Pro for IPad 2 https://www.cined.com/final-cut-pro-for-ipad-2-live-multicam-review-amp-tutorial/   25:25 - TEAMGROUP T-CREATE Cinema PR P31 Portable SSD Review https://www.cined.com/teamgroup-t-create-cinemapr-p31-portable-ssd-review-made-with-filmmakers-in-mind/   28:05 - DaVinci Resolve 19 Public Beta Update 4 https://www.cined.com/davinci-resolve-19-public-beta-update-4-released-adds-live-sync-from-cameras/   33:19 - MZed Summer Sale - Save Annual Membership & Courses for Filmmakers https://www.cined.com/mzed-summer-sale-save-on-annual-membership-courses-for-filmmakers/   37:21 - Pomfort Silverstack Lab Version 8.8 Released https://www.cined.com/pomfort-silverstack-lab-version-8-8-released-prores-raw-support-and-more/   39:06 - Ignite Digi Control Deck for DJI Transmission Introduced https://www.cined.com/ignite-digi-control-deck-for-dji-transmission-introduced-a-professional-remote-controller-for-dji/   42:08 - Portkeys BD1 Switchable Double-Side NP-F Dummy Battery Introduced https://www.cined.com/portkeys-bd1-switchable-double-side-np-f-dummy-battery-introduced/   44:24 - FUJIFILM Major Firmware Update https://www.cined.com/fujifilm-major-firmware-update-for-x-h2-x-h2s-x-s20-x100vi-x-t5-bringing-reala-ace-film-simulation-and-more/ We hope you enjoyed this episode! As Jim's business has grown, there are a lot of new updates, activities and events happening and coming up soon. Go to the mQ site for more details, especially the resources page: https://measurequick.com/resources/ Some significant quotes and thoughts from the interview: Changing the culture in a company is hard to do; it must start from the top They don't make products like they used to, or is it you that hasn't kept up Manufacturers have refined their designs; installation instructions have serious details that they assume all techs will follow.
