*From the desk of Pete* Once thought to be "Lost Media," Spider Baby has thankfully been rediscovered and given a proper Blue Ray release by Arrow. The last film of legendary genre actor Lon Chaney Jr. puts out a powerful performance in this ominous, horrifying rendition of an "Old Dark House" film and Sid Haig flexes his acting chops without ever saying a word. Charlie blew Pete and Anna's mind when he suggested that Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses is a spiritual remake and the more they talked about it the more they agreed. This one's in the public domain so it's easy to find and the entire cast suggests you spend the 80 minutes to experience a true cult film.

Uma mídia perdida (Lost Media em inglês) é caracterizada como qualquer mídia que não se encontra disponível em nenhum formato e nem pode ser acessada pelo público geral. O termo abrange todos os produtos do audiovisual, desde filmes, comerciais, músicas, jogos e transmissões de rádio.  As causas para uma mídia ser perdida podem ser tanto acidentais, como o incêndio que destruiu parte do arquivo da produtora MGM em 1965; como propositais, como as fitas gravadas pelo casal de serial killers Paul Bernardo e Karla Homolka, que estão seladas nos arquivos do caso. Com o passar dos anos, o aprimoramento dos sistemas de transmissão e arquivagem diminuiu os riscos de se perder uma mídia, juntamente com o advento da internet, que através de fóruns dedicados ao tema, juntou uma comunidade muito engajada em catalogar e tentar resgatar as mídias consideradas perdidas.  Dentre as páginas destacadas sobre o tema estão a Lost Media Wiki, Lost Media Archive e o subreddit Lost Media; além de canais no youtube como blameitonjorge, Nexpo e o brasileiro Lucasnauta.  No Mundo Freak de hoje, nossos investigadores Andrei Fernandes, Ira Croft, Murilo Lourenço e Déborah Cabral se juntam para especular sobre as mídias perdidas.
