We ramped up slowly on this episode, as befitting a retired, poetic Dave and one doing a 12-day simulated retirement. Apparently—in Madeira Beach, anyway—it's hard to avoid Allman Brothers Band former roadies who hang out at the 7-11, awaiting the occasional comedian-on-vacation, eager to swap stories about life on stage…or near it. If only their hair could talk, what epic tales they might tell about their epic tails. How to de-escalate such conversational loops? The secret might be in the whisper brag!

Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda is something I catch myself saying often. I try not to live in the past, but I find myself using it to motivate me to have a better future. In 1992 could have bought a house on the water in Madeira Beach, FL, needed a dock, needed yard work, but the inside was ok (liveable). I was 22 years old and fresh out of the Army after 5 years of service Although as a Veteran I was entitled to a VA zero down VA home loan, I did not qualify for one due to my lousy credit at the time. I passed on the opportunity all together because I figured the bank would simply say no. It never occurred to me to simply ask the seller if they would take payments for their equity..even if it had occurred to me I likely would have dismissed that notion by assuming the seller wouldn’t do that for me. I had the opportunity to buy that house for $75,000 (asking price) which would have meant a mortgage payment somewhere around $550 a month after factoring in taxes and insurance. I later learned that someone bought that home for $65,000 with no money down, 20 year terms at 5% interest which for me would have meant a payment about $100 less than I had figured originally. I passed on that because I thought it was too much hassle and responsibility to bother with. In this episode, I dive into that notion and discuss what I learned from that mental lapse and also what I lost from simply not taking action. That first house would have set me up nicely, even if it had not been such a great deal right out of the gate. It took me many years to discover that what was really holding me back was fear of the responsibility of success.

In this episode I talked with Jason Delacruz owner and operator of Don’s Dock located on world’s famous John’s Pass Boardwalk. Jason is a key figure in the commercial fishing industry. He also owns Wild Seafood Company a wholesaler of fresh fish in Madeira Beach Florida. Jason, a native Floridian shares with us how at a very early age he was introduced to fishing through the encouragement of his Aunt. “She was a first mate on a commercial fishing boat” Jason said. “I was able to do a fishing trip on a boat with her at the age of 9, and it was awesome.” He shares his passion for recreational spearfishing and after receiving numerous awards plus winning the pinnacle for the St Pete Open, Jason was lead to pursue commercial spearfishing. He is completely immersed into the Salt Life, “You really don’t move here unless you want to be on the water” said Jason. “Close to 50% of the homes have waterfront views.” If you’re looking to purchase fresh fish (mainly Red Grouper) at wholesale prices, then contact Wild Seafood Company for more information. If you live near John’s Pass or are wanting to purchase fish for a special occasion while visiting Madeira Beach, then head over to Don’s Dock located at the end of the John’s Pass Boardwalk. They provide great fresh fish straight off the boat and the deck hands will clean and fillet your fish for you. Jason’s advice for those considering moving to Florida, “even though we have some of the best winters, make sure you like hot weather, we kind of corner the market on that.” Mentioned in this Episode: 1 Wild Seafood Company 2 St Pete Open- Spearfishing Torment 3 Don’s Dock
Sonny Flynn, is one of the busiest ladies I have had the privilege to speak with. She is a three time cancer survivor who never lets her past interfere with her bright busy future. She’s involved with many events throughout Pinellas County, from small events like the Christmas fishing tournament for kids in Madeira Beach to the Seafood Festival at John’s Pass. Sonny is a Promoter of Tourism, Event Coordinator and an Alligator Wrestler. Each year she gives a demonstration with very large gators to raise money for the charities she supports. Her goal this year is to have John’s Pass Seafood Festival become the largest Seafood event in North America. As you listen to Sonny’s so passionately speak about the festivals and events she chairs, you can’t help but want to become involved to help her reach this goal. “We have the best seafood in the United States, we need to be number one” says Sonny. “We are also the Grouper Capital of the world.” A native Floridian who can’t help but promote the lifestyle of Florida. Her tip for those thinking about moving to Florida and for those who already call Florida home, is to remember “we live in a play State, be a tourist.” Use the links below to get involved with the John’s Pass Seafood Festival. Bobby, along with cohort Coletti, conduct this podcast, on location, from a boat docked along the intracoastal waterways of Madeira Beach, Florida, with Dave Reynard, a self-proclaimed inventor, theorist and dreamer. The original inventor of the cellular telephone (allegedly) and borosilicate glass sex toys, Dave and his company, Knowmind Enterprises, have been featured on many television programs, including, but not limited to, HBO’s Real Sex 27. The three discuss a range of topics, from what it’s like to participate in reality television, to being the “glass dildo king” of the world.
Bobby banters back and forth incorrigibly, on location, from the dilapidated boat dock at the former Coletti Compound on Madeira Beach, Florida, with a couple of lifelong friends (Brian "Wacky" Wechsler & A. Benjamin Coletti). The three decide to have an impromptu discussion, sharing their shitfaced sentimentality for the high school party house of their youth. This "drunk-cast" continues from the waterfront apartment of Eddie Lugo, a middle-aged Puerto Rican man who harbors similar idiotic attributes to these three amigos. WARNING: EVERYONE YOU ARE ABOUT TO HEAR IS COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY INTOXICATED. Without further adieu, please enjoy the ranting and ravings of Wacky, Crackhead and Rob The Wop.
