The Seahawks are practicing and Mike Macdonald spoke to the media earlier today. Ian likes the way both he and Sam Darnold presented today and we take a listen to his mentality heading into the NFC Championship. with 30% of the NFL looking for a new head coach, how lucky are we to have Mike Macdonald here in Seattle? Stewart Mandel, The Athletic tries to break down the Duke vs. Darian Mensah, but it's extremely complicated - how similar is it to the Demond Williams situation? He takes a look back at the NCAA Championship game and what made Indiana so successful this year. Curt Cignetti is one of the best talent evaluators out there. Eno Sarris, The Athletic joins Ian to talk about Felix Hernandez's historic percentage rise in the MLB Hall of Fame voting that took place yesterday. What are the chances he ends up getting in and if so, when? Mike Holmgren thinks the Seahawks will win on Sunday and win the whole dang thing. They're his favorite for the Super Bowl. He talks about how he'd prepare a backup quarterback in the Seahawks' current situation. And, of course, we have a very reasoned and level-headed conversation about referees. Chuck & Buck 1-21 Hour 1: The lazy narrative continues... Felix makes a monumental jump and Walker needs to as well!

Chuck and Buck

Yeah, we probably like our quarterback more than other people around the country, but the narrative circulating in the national ranks yesterday was just plain lazy- no, Sam is not a liability for the Seahawks in the playoffs. 14 interceptions and 6 lost fumbles- that's all anyone focuses on, not the fact that his team is winning and Sam is doing his part to help them get there. He was only 20 years old when he came into the league and he went to a crappy team, so it's highly probably that he wasn't getting what he needed to grow as an NFL QB in NY and Carolina. :30- Bad news anti-analytics people: if you want King Felix to get into the Hall of Fame, you're going to have to support the analytics, because that's how he will get there. Yesterday was very promising for Felix Hernandez as he saw the biggest jump in vote percentage from year 1 on the ballot to year 2 since 1967 going from 20.6% last year to 46.1% this year. :45- Walker's workload has been kept fairly low all season long as he split carries with Zach Charbonnet, but now, that's not an option with Charbs out. How many carries should Walker get on Sunday? A lot more! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Does the MLB have an issue with Hall of Fame voting and the criteria of what makes a player "Hall of Fame" worthy?Hoz, Moose and Chuck jump on to break down the list of 1st timers and returnees to the Hall of Fame ballott. It blows our minds that Billy Wagner, who has over 400+ career saves is still not in... We break down some other names on this STACKED returnee list like Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley, and Carlos Beltran. Will some of these legends of the game get snubbed from the Hall of Fame?On the first timer list it starts with Ichiro Suzuki, the 10-time All-Star & Gold Glover. It's a given he is making it on the 1st ballot, the bigger question is will he be unanimous? Felix Hernandez, CC Sabathia and Dustin Pedroia are some other siginificant names making their debut on the ballot as well. We think all of these guys get in eventually, and we do a deep dive on Dustin Pedroia's candidacy and why his leadership on and off the field should also be considered. The guys finish up with the MLB Awards breaking down the winners of the Cy Young, MVP, and Manager of the Year.---------Follow Diggin' Deep on Instagram or X aka TwitterStarringEric Hosmer / @hosmer305Mike Moustakas / @moosetacos8Chuck Philpott / Interact with the Diggin' Deep crew on:Instagram / Facebook / Twitter / TikTok Advertising & Partnership inquiries: diggindeep@moonballmedia.coma MoonBall Media Podcast
