The Bears will need as many players healthy heading into their final four games against the Eagles, Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings. They’ve made progress addressing problems on defense and at pass blocking but quarterback Justin Fields still needs to prove he can win a game at the end after six straight failed attempts to win or tie on their final possessions. NFL – Bears get 2 rookie defensive starters back to face Eagles The Chicago Bears will have defensive backs Kyler Gordon and Jaquan Brisker back in the starting lineup for the first time since Nov. 20 following concussions as they try to break a six-game losing streak when they face the Philadelphia Eagles. Niumatalolo is the program’s winningest coach, but he hasn’t been to a bowl or won the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy since 2019. Gladchuk indicated the team would likely keep running the triple option with whoever the new coach is. The case was one of many the high court rejected Monday. As is typical, the justices didn’t comment in turning away the case. The dispute the justices rejected stems from MSU’s decision to end its men’s and women’s swimming-and-diving teams after the 2021 season. On today’s pod, we cover a bunch of transportation-related news. First up: Rivian, the electric vehicle startup we’ve covered in a Detroit Public Television segment and on this pod, may get a big investment from Amazon and General Motors. We discuss how that could be a huge boost for the company as it eyes the launch of its first vehicle in fall 2020. But what does it say about GM and Amazon? Next, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan was in Lansing today to talk auto insurance reform. As a reminder, Michigan has the nation’s most expensive car insurance. Republicans have signaled the issue as a priority for the current legislative session, and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has signaled an openness to working on it. As a refresher, check out our interview with Steven Gursten of Michigan Auto Law a while back on the state’s no-fault law and Duggan’s lawsuit. Completing our transportation trifecta was Gov. Whitmer’s discussion of the need to “fix the damn roads” in last night’s State of the State address, her first. Republicans are even starting to come around to the idea that more revenue may be needed to fix our dismal roads and bridges. Could toll roads be one solution? Whitmer also discussed wanting to strengthen civil rights protections for gay and transgender people in her SOS speech, and she targeted the practice of making controversial legislation referendum-proof. We talk about both of those proposals. In other news: Detroit City FC have announced a preseason friendly match against NCAA College Cup semifinalists Michigan State University on April 20 And two Detroit-area eateries have yanked CBD oils off their menus

Episode 11 of the NSCAA College Soccer Podcast puts the focus on NCAA and conference tournament action as Dean Linke, once again, spends time at every level of college soccer. The NCAA Women's Division I 64-team field is set and Linke is joined by Jennifer Rockwood, the only coach BYU has ever known. Rockwood has BYU at #4 in the country and led by U.S. full international Ashley Hatch, who has 18 goals and five assists on the season, she has eyes on the NCAA College Cup in San Jose. Staying at the DI women's level, Linke had to talk to Mike Tucker, who in his 22nd and final season with the Dayton Flyers won the Atlantic 10 as the #7 seed and they will face Ohio State in Round One of the NCAA tournament. Learn how Tucker went from building boats to leading the Flyers for 22 memorable years. On the men's side of the D1 Level, if you haven't heard, Bobby Muuss has done an amazing job replacing Jay Vidovich at Wake Forest. In just two seasons in Winston-Salem, Coach Muus has led the Demon Deacons to two ACC regular season titles and a current #2 NSCAA national ranking. As always, Linke reflects on the history of the game, this time with longtime soccer television producer and director Ken Neal, who with the support of NSCAA board member Charlie Slagle, put the NCAA College Cup on TV back in the early 90s.
