Det är med stor sorg vi har nåtts av nyheten att Clark Olofsson lämnat oss. Med anledning av detta väljer vi att återigen sända avsnittet då Framgångspodden gästades av Clark, den 9:e juli 2023.Av många beskriven som ”Sveriges första popgangster”, blev han känd som en av männen bakom det världskända Norrmalmstorgsdramat, bankrånet som ledde till uttrycket Stockholmssyndrom. Netflix valde att göra en tv-serie om hans liv, och inte är det konstigt - han tillbringade mer än hälften av sitt liv på anstalt, rymde inte mindre än 17 gånger och levde stor del av sitt liv på flykt.Vi får höra om hans barndom där han tidigt beslöt att ”ingen bestämmer över mig”, om vägen in på den kriminella banan. Now, in THE FORGOTTEN SENSE, Jonas Olofsson uncovers the sophisticated biological processes that animate our olfactory system, with profound implications for how we perceive the world around us. The sense of smell has long been underappreciated. In a 2012 survey, adults were asked which sense is the most important, and only about two percent chose the sense of smell. In another survey, Americans were asked what is most important: their sense of smell or their pinky toe. The result was a tie. However, attitudes about the sense started to change after the coronavirus pandemic hit. Since 2020, over 300 million people have suffered from an impaired or distorted sense of smell after getting Covid. People began realizing, at last, the importance of this forgotten sense. Indeed, our sense of smell guides our lives far more than our screen-heavy, sight-privileged era would suggest. It animates our experience of food and drink, helps us access memories, and strengthens our intimacy with each other. Drawing from cutting-edge original research, Olofsson shows that not only is our sense of smell extraordinarily sensitive, but also how it engages our brain's full capacity. From the pheromones, environmental signals, and emotions we process with each breath, olfaction makes us the individuals we are. This week on Hashtag History, we are going to be looking at a very interesting event in History that resulted in a common phrase or psychological term that most of us are familiar with today: Stockholm Syndrome.  This psychological condition derives its name from the 1973 Stockholm Bank Robbery. On August 23, 1973, a man named Jan-Erik Olsson (a convict) attempted to rob a bank in Stockholm, Sweden. Olsson – later, also alongside a former jail mate of his, Clark Olofsson — would end up taking four of the bank employees hostage while they awaited police to comply with their very specific demands. Over the course of this hostage situation, the hostages would actually appear to take sides with their captors with one hostage in particular - a woman named Kristin Enmark - telling authorities that she was actually afraid of the police, and not her captors. When this hostage situation was finally resolved, not a single one of the hostages testified against Olsson or Olofsson in the following criminal trial.
