My guest is an award-winning actress and songwriter, Frida Farrell who stars in the true-life drama about sex trafficking called Apartment 407, now playing on Amazon Prime here in the United States and Canada – soon will be coming to her fans in Europe. For Farrell this is her story, she helped write it and even wrote the opening music for the film. The Swedish actress was rewarded for her creative efforts as Apartment 407 won international acclaim with multiple awards from all over Europe and the United States including an “Indie Award for the Best Picture at the prestigious Raindance festival in London. For Farrell, the awards and international acclaim have been appreciated but the real payoff from the film has been a large number of women who have contacted her or organizations to share their personal stories about sex trafficking or other types of abuse. She has been very gratified that her film and her own personal story of sex trafficking have brought the issue of sexual abuse to light for so many women. Farrell like all of us has been in her home in Sweden riding out the worldwide COVID 19 pandemic. But during that time she has been working on several projects including a new album that will be out soon and looking for the next TV or film project to take on. While we wait for the new album catch Farrell along with Nick Mancuso in Contract Killers now on Amazon Prime Video. The film brought her the honor of the “Breakout Female Star” award at the Orlando Film Festival and other competitions worldwide. The film established Ferrell as a true leading lady and a badass action star. One of the best things about this Disney fan community that we’re all apart of is the freedom people have to showcase their passion for Disney in a variety of ways. And in a community filled with incredibly creative and talented people you know that there are going to be some incredible works to come from this passion. Our guest, Tony Cortese, is a perfect example of what occurs when you combine your talent and creativity with your Disney passion and focus it into a project. In his case the medium he chooses to showcase his passion for Disney is film. And he is very good at it. I first discovered his work when I watched a film called The Dreamfinders. I choose to watch that film because it was all about Disney World and its incredible fan base but I continue to rewatch it because of the story he was able to capture in it. He’s got a new film debuting this week and it is all about Walt Disney and the creation of Epcot. We’ve got a great discussion ahead and a lot to talk about. Plus the Skyliner has an accident in its first week and the soon to be the greatest film ever made, Jungle Cruise, gets its first trailer.
