La intervención estadounidense para extraer a Nicolás Maduro y a su esposa Cilia Flores de Venezuela, además de desatar una crisis en el país, ha puesto en relieve múltiples preguntas como la legalidad de dicha operación y los límites de Estados Unidos en el orden mundial. ¿Puede un país decidir atacar unilateralmente a otro y además extraer a su presidente? Para el expresidente de la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos y experto en derecho internacional, James Cavallaro, es un acto ilegal por parte de Estados Unidos. “Una amenaza directa al derecho internacional” “Fue una violación abierta, descarada, de la norma más importante de la ONU. Es una amenaza directa al derecho internacional y a la paz en el mundo. Ahora bien, hay excepciones donde sí puede haber una intervención militar: si el Consejo de Seguridad autoriza una intervención, lo que no ha pasado, o para la autodefensa, y tampoco se cumple esa condición. Es una ilegalidad descarada, tiene que ser calificada como tal”, subraya Cavallaro. El también profesor de la Universidad de Yale y Columbia (en Estados Unidos) explica que la intervención de Trump y sus amenazas a otros países viola totalmente las leyes, pero se dan por la concentración de poder y el silencio político de otros Estados. “El problema que tenemos en el mundo hoy en día, y por eso tenemos una crisis, es que el país más poderoso del mundo no acepta, no se limita por las normas del derecho internacional ni tampoco se cumple el señor Trump con las normas del derecho de los Estados Unidos”, indica. “No puede ser secuestrado” “Uno puede pensar lo que quiera sobre el señor Nicolás Maduro, pero por ser jefe del Estado, es una persona internacionalmente protegida, no puede ser agarrado, secuestrado. La única excepción es cuando la Corte Penal Internacional autoriza la detención, aún siendo jefe de Estado. Son los otros países del mundo, tienen que decir esta es una ilegalidad, sino Venezuela no va a ser el último caso de violación de la integridad territorial”, prosigue Cavallaro. Nicolas Maduro y su Gobierno son señalados por varias ONG y la ONU por atentar contra los derechos humanos en Venezuela… Sin embargo, para Cavallaro, estas acusaciones les competen solo a los mismos venezolanos o a la justicia internacional. “Crímenes casi tan graves han sido cometidos en en torno a la mitad de los países en el mundo. Hay desaparición forzada en decenas de países. Ni por eso puede un Estado decidir que va a invadir a otro país secuestrar al jefe de Estado”, señala el analista. Si bien el régimen de Maduro ha sido criticado por diversas naciones y acusado de fraude en las elecciones de 2024, la intervención estadounidense preocupa también a otros Gobiernos como Cuba, Colombia o Dinamarca, que han recibido amenazas de Donald Trump.

Liz Cavallaro and Bree Fram know something about leadership. Liz teaches military leaders as the US Naval War College and Bree is a colonel in the US Space Force.  The two combined to write a newly published book, Forging Queer Leaders. "A national survey by Cleveland Clinic, published in September 2023, highlights a disconnect between men's perception of their health and their actual health habits. According to the survey, 81% of American men believe they lead a healthy lifestyle. However, the survey results reveal that the habits and behaviors of many men tell a different story. Almost half of men (44%) do not get a yearly physical, 44% do not take care of their mental health, and only half of men said they keep a healthy diet (51%). Additionally, 83% have experienced stress in the last six months, and about a quarter of U.S. men (27%) watch TV for more than five hours per day on average.   The survey, which was conducted earlier last year and involved a national sample of 1,000 U.S. males aged 18 and older, was issued as part of Cleveland Clinic's eighth annual educational campaign, MENtion It®. The campaign aims to address the fact that men often do not mention health issues or take steps to prevent them. Survey findings point to stress being a common factor among men. However, 65% of men said they are hesitant to seek professional help for mental health concerns such as stress, anxiety, and depression. Social media habits may contribute to this, with men reporting that they spend an average of 2.3 hours per day scrolling through social media. Those who say they are hesitant to seek professional help for mental health issues are almost twice as likely to spend five or more hours daily on social media (19%).   For body transformation and online fitness coach Danny Cavallaro, his motivation to start his program stemmed from personal struggles. He mentioned, “I started this program because I was unhappy and constantly stressed. I was 30 pounds overweight, uncomfortable in my own skin, and nothing I tried seemed to work. I was embarrassed about my body and couldn't take off my shirt at public beaches without feeling insecure. It took me years of trial and error to find out what worked best for me and allowed me to sustain long-term weight loss results. So, I decided to help others in the same situation.
